Country Village Pet Care Hospital

My cat Cooper had a medical emergency that we had to see an ER vet for. I called Country Village Pet Care Hospital and although we weren’t a patient seen before they got us right in with Dr. Will. Dr. Will was so caring and explained everything to us through the whole process. All the vet techs were great too! Additionally, I thought the price associated with what needed to be done was very fair. Cooper had to stay over the weekend and I could tell that he received the best care possible. He was discharged with a new food right there (no need to order or go to the store) and medications that Dr. Will personally showed me how to administer. I recommend Dr. Will and Country Village to everyone!

Went for a lazer spay consult today with my 11 mo old gsd pup. Ill start by saying the receptionist & vet techs were very sweet and pleasant to deal with, the office was nice, clean and modern. Dr Will on the other hand was borderline incompetent. My pup has many issues with anxiety, aggression and panosteitis, she is a work in progress since 8 weeks and has overcome MANY serious behavioral issues. Her exercise regimen is light to moderate and she is on a special low protein diet due to her pano, per cornell specialists recommendation, even though I was not there for a pano consult he took it upon himself to say I should just let her exercise excessively to burn energy even though that will make her lame and in excruciating pain, then just give her pain meds to deal. very bad medical advice. 2nd, he decided to be condescending lecturing me about her aggression and drilling me with questions as to what Im doing about it, he acted as though this was the 1st aggressive dog he had ever encountered. We have thousands of dollars invested in private trainers and have even sought consults from a global gsd behavioral specialist that im 1,000% positive is more knowledgeable about gsd behavior than him, for Dr Will to insinuate that I am not doing all I can for my dog is an ultimate insult. 3rd, when it came time to discuss her spay again he displayed lack of knowledge, ignorance and even found it necessary to inject his political opinions. I asked if he felt her bones were developed enough for a spay and he carried on that oversees liberals are the reason spay/nueters are looked down on and its nonsense. Cornell and many reputable studies have proven for the sake of large breeds its best for them to be fully grown for their growth platelets to close and avoid joint, ligament, hip issues and senior female incontinence. But he thinks he knows more than Cornell, that was shocking. I recommend zero people using him for a vet. Zero

Love, love, love Dr. Will & the entire staff at Country Village Pet Care. Extremely friendly & professional and treated our Coco like one of their family. We are thrilled to have found such a wonderful and compassionate veterinarian.

They love my dog like its their own. The price is average if not a bit more affordable than most vets. Its never a chore bringing my dog in for visits, the vet and all the vet techs are so kind and lovely. Also, Vera the receptionist is very cute and she makes my day every time I see her.

The staff here is amazing. I am so happy we are taking our Benji here. They are so caring and answer all your questions.

UPDATE: 2/11/20Went back again with a similar experience, without a doubt a great place to take your pet.From 2018It is an emotional time for pet owners when their animals are in need of care. I honestly cannot think of a better, more caring and professional place in the area then Country Village Pet Car and DR. Matthew.Its a family place, with happy staff who actually play with your pets, not for show, but because they actually love animals. Even when My young Dog Komer peed (tagged their office) several times, they still loved him and made me feel better about taking him there in the first place.More on Dr. Matt, I met him at of all places, the farmers market in Alden, and immediately decided he would be our vet in the future because of the attention he paid to me, and Komer.I have been writing reviews for 25 years, and am not always the most positive when it comes to service professionals, but today I honestly received professional service, the kind you would expect from family.

They neutered my Tucker (1 year old orange tabby) and were so helpful when it came to answering all my questions. I will be back again!

They were so nice and showed so much love to my new kitten, Im very grateful...

Been going here for quite awhile, still loving it. Dr. Will is always a pleasure to see and treats my dogs like they were his own and very caring. I love the one Dr., so I see him each time, and he knows you and your pets personally. The staff is very nice as well.

This place is amazing! I am so happy with the care my dog received. At first I was uncomfortable because it had taken so long for me to be able to pay for the care she needed, but everyone was so nice and very understanding. I called, they got her in the next day, set up a payment plan, and she stayed so they could do her surgery. A little ways from where I live but well worth the trip. I highly recommend Country Village Pet Care. Thank you Dr Will and the amazing staff!

Our regular vet couldnt get us in for weeks. Country Village got us right in and took care of our dog. Very good advice. I didnt feel like they were trying to just sell me a bunch of unnecessary tests and things like some vets do. I thought their prices were very reasonable for what they did.

Had to go in for an end of life service and they were kind, gentle, and easy to work with. (Not to mention cheaper than other places for a service like this)

What a gem of a vet we have found! I didnt think vets like this existed anymore. The Dr is warm & wonderful with the pets & their parents, he takes his time & explains everything. He also personally follows up with aftercare. Great staff & welcoming, clean office. We are so lucky to have found Dr Will!

Very professional and friendly! My sons dog was injured and no other animal hospital in the area would take her. This hospital not only gave excellent treatment, they also made a follow-up call to make sure she was doing okay. Much better than others.

Dr. Will and his staff are absolutely fantastic. They take time to talk to you about all of your concerns about your pets. Dr. Will takes the time to explain everything. I have 3 cats that all have unique issues and concerns and Dr. Will assisted me with all of them. I changed to Dr. Will after 15 years at another vet and Im very happy I made the change!

I am very happy with Dr. Will and all his staff. After trying a few veterinarians in my area, with disappointment, I decided this Alden office was well worth the drive and I will continue to take my wonderful dog to him in the future. After his surgery, I have a new dog that is much happier and out of pain. I think the most impressive thing for me is that they didnt judge me for taking some of the important recommendations and not taking some of the others. They also really helped when I had to send my best buddy to his final resting place. And it is so much better as Dr. Will comes to our home to do the euthanasia and let us have the time we need. I have two pugs that I bring to this location. The staff is very friendly and companionate to all of my veterinarian needs. Dr. Will is very knowledgeable, and also excellent to work with… He is able to answer all my questions and concerns helping to put my mind at ease. Would recommend to anyone looking for a vet who is in the Alden ny area. Vera (cat) is also an amazing addition to the staff.

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. They got our cat in the same day for a bladder infection when our own vet wanted to make us wait 4 weeks. Very caring and helpful.

Dr. Will is awesome! They saw my boy Huckleberry 2 days in a row with no notice. They understood my concerns and dealt with me accordingly.I will be going to them in the future for all my boys needs.Thank you again everyone at Country Village Pet Care Hospital..you folks are great!

Our fur babies vet retired. We kept saying we needed to find a new vet before God forbid we had an emergency. Well we didnt and we did ( have an emergency)! Our Malachi was a very sick cat when I called County Village Pet Care. They got us in right away, treated him (even though he made it as difficult for them as he could), and now we have our sometimes loving and always trouble baby back!! We love this place, it feels like seeing family!

Love Dr Will and all of his staff. They are always there for us and always get us taken care of when we have an emergency. They are so good with all of the pets we bring there. They really do care about all of the animals.

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Will and his staff. My wife and I recently lost our dog and Dr Will was there with anything we needed, his availability and compassion during a tough time is second to none. Alden is very lucky to have him.

I see people saying this place is overpriced but as far as im concerned you get what you pay for. The staff is SUPER friendly and the vet has never reccomended something for my cats to get me to spend more money. The facility is spotless and they even let us carry our cats in our arms because they know crates make them nervous. We are always in and out as quick as possible, they know one of our cats is super friendly and loves everyone and that the other is more difficult and have never tried to push him out of his comfort zone unless it was necessary. I have a strong feeling that even if we one day move out of town we will continue to bring our cats here. Definitely reccomend.

Dr. Will is so thorough I was amazed. He spent a full 40 minutes with my elderly dog and gave her life a new start! Medication in a whole direction than our previous. Vet. The most caring animal hospital that I have ever been in.

The bad: certainly not the cheapest vet, and sometimes I felt like they would up sell things that really werent necessary.The good: by far the most professional, compassionate vet weve been to. Quality of care is top notch. Vet office is immaculate. The staff is amazing.

I live this animal hospital. Dr. Will and staff are fantastic. I take my dog here all the time when I am in town. They are always accommodating even in emergencies, such as unexpected drop offs. Boarding prices are very reasonable as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Went here since our main vet couldnt see us for a week, staff was rather unpleasant but overall, a decent experience

We switched to this vet after a horrible experience with another. The entire staff is loving towards animals and provides amazing care for my Lucy every time we go there (which with her is pretty frequent). I will never take her anywhere else!

Amazing care. They took care of our dog Nitro for his entire life. They were always there whenever we needed them. So very compassionate and kind. It was so hard saying goodbye to our Nitro and they were so good to him especially in the end when we had to let him go. I would never take a animal anywhere else.

Dr Will, is always great. Your pet gets the attention it deserves. Never 20 customers in at a time, my problem dog did very well. I recommend

Kita needed spaying and quite honestly I could not have asked for a better veterinary doctor or team. Kita was well taken care of and little to no discomfort afterwards. Tica, my second cat, was so pliable in the hands of Dr. Will and staff that it was hard to believe that Tica was a feral cat. Pricing was as described before hand and seemed very reasonable. Thanks to all the professionals there!

Not only is the staff n vet amazing, go above and beyond meeting every need of family member, but they are human in regards to the care of individuals that go there with family members.

Dr. Will has zero compassion and horrible bedside manner with the animals. I dont think he even likes cats. My poor boy was shaking and clinging to me and Dr. Will ripped him from my arms and wouldn’t let me go back with him for his IV...even though his young son was running around the place. He then charged me an emergency fee even though it was within the hours listed on their website. I was scammed into paying him more in an hour than I make in a week with no option for a payment plan. And the kicker? I left without a diagnosis for my kitten. Do not patron this man.

Even though it is a long drive for me to go to Country Village Pet Care, it is worth it because they take genuine care in my pets, and they also show care for the pets owners. Thank you!

Been there for several years but have found every visit us 200$. Been to other vet recently and was shocked to find...better pricing! Its a good place but it does nickle and dime you every chance

This is the best vet I have ever been to. I drivr a little over an hour to get there. My dog is skittish with vets. Not here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This veterinary website is written to promote feline laser declawing and deliberately misinform and hoodwink unsuspecting clients. As disclosure, the laser declawing content is so deceptive it could be considered consumer fraud. In addition, declawing has NO place in a kitten “wellness package” - for declawing removes healthy body parts but does not benefit a cat whatsoever.Dr. Will knows that feline declawing is not “removing the nail” from the bone as the site states. Done with a laser, scalpel or Resco clipper, onychectomy (declawing) is a complete amputation of the third distal phalanges, or end bones, of the cat’s toes. It cuts through bone, tendons, skin and nerves. In a person it is the same as amputating each finger at the last joint. Declawing is one of the most painful procedures in all of veterinary medicine and is associated with many health risks. Dr. Will cannot claim use of a laser is pain free: there’s potential pain from the surgery, long term nerve damage, phantom pain, and pain from changes to anatomy (resulting in arthritis) because the cat now has to walk on amputated toe stumps.Dr. Will, to show you care about your patients (cats), and as a common courtesy and respect for your clients, at minimum update your website copy to reflect the truth about onychectomy. Then your clients can make an informed decision before they needlessly mutilate their cat for the sake of a couch and risk subjecting their feline companion to lifelong pain.

Our 15 year old Schnoodle, Shadow, had needed teeth cleaning by Dr. Will along with teeth pulled. A week or so prior to this he had intestinal issues caused by his teeth. We were concerned with anesthesia for our senior dog but Dr. Will assured us that Shadow would do very well and he did!! He is bouncing back after one day on meds and eating very well! We are thankful to Dr. Matt, Jennifer, Roz and other health -care professionals at the pet clinic!!

They are a very kind and caring. They have taken great care of George our golden.

Ive been bringing my Puggle, Darla to Country Village since she was a puppy. Five years later I wouldnt take her to anyone else! If I mention Dr Will, Kelly or Jennifer, Darla runs to the door as if she can just go see them at any time! The office is spotless, the Staff are Personable, Accommodating & Professional! Just like family! :)

When we took my friend’s dog to Country Village, we were greeted at the door and ushered into a private room immediately. Staff came in and loved on her (the dog!). When Dr. Will came in, the dog, who is fearful of men, was very accepting of him and allowed him to treat her very sore paw without flinching. Dr. Will is definitely her new vet.

They really go above and beyond they took amazing care of our Lola got us the medicine needed and even gave us a call the next day to check in on Lola. Amazing caring staff

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr Will and staff! I’m a new person here. He got me in quickly and offered me different options on my very sick cat! I decided to put her to sleep. He and his assistant explained everything and let me hold her the whole time! They were so kind! I will continue to come here!!!!

Our little one ended up with Lyme disease and is very sick the doctor ended up taking us in even though we were a new patient took very good care of her but unfortunately still cant get her to eat

It only takes knowing a vet still performs onychectomy (declaw), to tell me I would NEVER bring my fur kids there. Not only that, but this veterinarian actually misrepresents the procedure on his website...blatantly lying to clients about declawing. It is NOT just the removal of the claw from the toe but a complete amputation of the p3 joint. Very sad.

Dr. Will and staff are always there to help out, especially with emergencies. Cant thank them enough for their quick responses and helping out all my dogs.
