Howlywood Kennel

The people of Howlywood Kennels are the most thoughtful and supportive people. I have used them for dog boarding for over 6 years and my dogs have always been treated incredibly well and always look forward to coming to the kennel to be boarded. They are also some of the most compassionate people, we had an unexpected death in the family and we needed immediate boarding with an uncertain timeline of how long the dogs needed to stay. They found a space for our dogs and were completely supportive of our uncertain window, telling me that they will work it out and for us to not worry about the dogs. I cannot tell you how much of a relief it was to know that our dogs were in good hands. When we returned from the funeral, they did not charge us anything, nothing. I was completely dumbfounded and taken aback by their kindness. I broke down completely and I am so incredibly thankful for their love and compassion for our dogs and our family. I am so touched by their kind gift and I will forever be a loyal customer because they are more than a dog boarding establishment, they truly care about the pets and their humans.

We have been using Howlywood for many years, they are the best! We would never take our fur babies anywhere else! TOP NOTCH!

I can tell that the staff cares about the animals and that makes the difference. If you care about your pets, then you’ll like this place.

They are super friendly and always provide input on how my dog did, she doesn’t get lost in the shuffle!

This place is is good for dogs, but they treat their employees horribly. They dont give raises to those who deserve it and threaten time off despite the person being a top notch worker. The employees love the dogs and treat them wonderfully, if only the business would do the same to their employees.

My dog who has anxiety and hates to be away at me stayed at Howlywood for 9 days. Upon immediately picking my dog up I could see that his stay with a happy stay, he was not stressed out and shaking like he has been at other kennels. Once I got him home he was not clingy at all and acted like her never left. Which tells me he was happy there. The staff was so great, I was able to call in and check on him and they were happy to give me updates. I drove almost 1 hour to board my dog there, and it was worth it! Thanks so much to the staff for taking such good care of my baby…

Cant say enough good things about this company and its employees. They work extremely hard and they really care for the pets that are kenneled there, They are easy to work with and do a great job! Weve used them for our dog a number of times already and do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We will bring our dog back there for sure!!

I have used Howlywood for several years. My dogs have been generally well treated and, in the past, I always felt that the prices were reasonable. I recently boarded my 3 dogs there for 6 nights. Because I have used them in the past I wasnt terribly careful about the cost of services and thats on me. But when I arrived to pick them up I was presented with a $750 bill, which I thought excessive, especially because they told me they were able to board the dogs all in one kennel. I checked the website, which said there is a 25% discount for each additional dog. The discount I was given was not 25%. It was about 18%. I also noticed that about $100 of my bill was for grooming, which includes nails and cutting out mats etc. I had not asked for grooming. I had only asked that the dogs be bathed, which would have been significantly less expensive. When I spoke to the folks at Howlywood about these concerns I was simply told we raised our prices and thank you for bringing the discrepancy on the website to our attention. At this point I was told that in fact they didnt board the dogs all in one kennel, opposite of what I was told the day before. Despite what it said on the website about a 25% discount, they didnt honor that discount and didnt offer any refund and failed also to take responsibility for doing a full groom when I requested only that the dogs be bathed. The dogs are well cared for at Howlywood but I can get equal care in other places and for significantly less expense. After years of boarding my 3 dogs there, I am sad to say I will not be back.

We had a wonderful first time experience with Howlywood Kennel. We just picked up our dog from an 8-day stay. He is a rescue, therefore, very stressful and anxious. The entire staff at Howlywood took fantastic care of him. Staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and experienced. Our dog was happy, healthy, and very clean when we picked him up. Staff is always there and very attentive to detail. Highly recommend!

We cannot recommend this place highly enough!! We were VERY picky on where we would leave our precious 14 year old CAT (Buddy) who had been used to being boarded at same place in Kansas City for 13 years.We could not have been more pleased at the care and attention and love he received from Kelly and Bianca. They are wonderful!!!!!!!! We have boarded him several times in last few months with almost no notice due to family emergencies. They went above and beyond to make sure Buddy got what he needed. They seem to board dogs primarily and I wondered if Buddy would feel at home. He did and was calm and relaxed when we picked him up. We highly recommend this place. The owners truly love their job and the stars of the kennel..

The staff are the best!! Always accommodating and caring for our attack deer/hedgehog/skunk protector. Although my dog is not.a big fan, since he has separation anxiety, but for Mommy and Daddy, its the best quiet house for the duration of his stay!

Howlywood took care of our 5 dogs for 10 days. The dogs are back in GREAT condition. All calm, happy, healthy, clean, and havent lost any weight. :) And 4 of ours are Shiba Inu: very high-maintenance, aloof prima donnas! Not canine easy mode.Staff know what theyre doing. It really stood out (from start to finish) how much they were able to update us on each dog as individuals.Thanks for taking great care of our pups. ♥️ It was hard to leave them.

I was impressed the first time I walked into Howlywood Kennels. The floors were being cleaned and there were no smells at all except for the cleaning solution; all areas are neat and clean.We boarded our Rottweiler Captain for a short week while away for a family reunion. I never worried about him once. I know he is safe and well cared for at Howlywood and additionally they are happy to feed him his own food, brought from home. He gets quality playtime in large fenced area and always looks great when we pick him up. The owners seem to love each dog as if it were their own!(The new Howlywood owners of this facility have more flexible hours then the previous owners; this is very much appreciated.)

I recently relocated to Rochester from Syracuse for work. It took two months to find an apartment and I ended up having to board my dog part of the week for 8 weeks. Howlywood kennel has very reasonable prices and they even worked out a long term boarding price agreement for me and included daily playtime for my poor pupper. This is the third kennel I have ever take my dog to and is by far my favorite. They are super friendly and took great care of my dog. Even though it is located a bit out of the city I intend on continuing to use this kennel anytime I have to leave town.

The owners are very charismatic and true to the bone dog lovers. An extremely joyful experience in dealing with the owners and operators Kelly & Bianca. Clean facilities and large runs for my dog to enjoy as well as 2 large outdoor play areas. Cleaned up my beast and trimmed her nails. We have found our 2nd home for her in Howlywood! Highly recommended for anyone looking for Boarding or Daycare for your pets.....BLOWS away the neighboring Kennels like Boomtown and Ad-En-On in facilities, amenities and pricing! Definitely found a life long customer here!!! Thanks Howlywood!!!

If you love and care about your pets DO NOT send them to Howlywood Kennels. I boarded my 3 dogs there a weekend in July. I sent food and treats with the instructions that they do not get any other food than what i sent because they have sensitive tummies. I paid extra for cuddle time as they call it for all three dogs. I picked them up on Sunday and all of my dogs reeked of a strong pungent odor of urine and barnyard. I paid $250.00 and brought my dogs home. So, now I have to give 3 dogs a bath and unpack and get settled in. After getting home I realize that they did not send back home my two dog beds that I brought. The next morning I wake up and all 3 dogs had bloody stool all over the house. I am very upset at this point. I call up the kennel and speak with owner Bianca. She apologized, but seemed very nonchalant about an unhappy customer. Her excuse was that she wasnt there. Well, she is the owner so it is her job to hire and train people to do a proper job. I asked her why my dogs smelled like urine and she said probably because they sat in it. Not a chance, being that their entire bodies smelled of it. And if they did sit in it, then why didnt they give them a bath. If they got the cuddle time that I paid for then they would of realized how awful the smell was. They obviously did not follow my request of only feeding them the food I sent because of the bloody diarrhea. Bianca explained that it is normal for a stressed dog to have diarrhea. Well that may be, but definitely not normal to have BLOODY diarrhea. I asked Bianca what she was going to do, if she was going to refund half or all my money. She said that it says in the contract no refunds. So what! She is the owner and I feel that if she had customers as a first priority that she would want to refund me $. I would be embarrassed to handle a business and customers the way that they do. I do not trust them and see that my pets were not well taken care of at all. Please do not send your furry family to them.

My dog snacks loved it! She was so happy and smelled very clean when we got her. They gave her all her food and treats as instructed. Lots of other interaction with dogs and play time

My boy gets TLC and I feel at ease. They are very accomodating and I couldnt be more pleased. Cooper is happy to play with other dogs when he gets there. I can enjoy my time away knowing he is well taken care of,

I highly recommend this place to anyone who treats there dog like there own child. I have been going to them for about 2 years now and my White German Shepard loves it there. I will not be taking my dog anywhere else but to them.

Very friendly have been going there for years dog get spoiled really bad but they love it and they love Lexi and Louie together dogs come home after 3 or 4 days and sleep myself and wife love Kelly and Bianca and the whole staff. David and Mary Coates

I cannot say enough good things about this place! Every member of the staff that I have encountered has been kind and helpful. I board my dogs a few times a year and I drive a half hour from the city to bring them here because they are so well taken care of. My girls are challenging, as they fight with one another, and the staff here is great about keeping them separated and safe. I recently had surgery and was going to be down and out for a questionable amount of time. They assured me that I could come get them early if I was ready but that they would keep them as long as I needed. I always have peace of mind when I leave my girls here!
