Mike did an amazing job training my mini dachshund! He handled everything I had concerns with and instructed me on how I should continue training her at turn over. Her behavior has improved so much and I plan to continue following Mikes advice. She loves Mike and I can tell that he focuses on building a strong and trusting bond before training her. We had a great experience at our first session with Mike! He really took the time to explain the reason our dog Comet behaves a certain way and gave good insight on how to correct it. Mike was great with our Australian Cattle Dog, Hundo. We hired him to address some basic resource guarding behaviors that we wanted to nip in the bud. He came over, addressed all of our concerns, and got to work putting us at ease and showing us what to do. I would highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and really truly seems to love what he does. Part of his recommendationswere no more naps on the couch for the big guy for a while. He’s not happy about it!

Mike is the best! Our lab is an energetic and friendly dog, however she lacked some obedience and preferred to follow her own commands. Even after 5 years of reinforcing bad habits, Mike was able to set a solid foundation in just a few short weeks and turned our haphazard bundle of energy into an obedient bundle of energy. He must have switched out our pup because she is a new dog! Communication was excellent during and after the training and we were provided with videos and hands-on instruction to be able to reinforce everything she learned. I had Mike come to my house to help me with my 4 month old golden retriever pup! I did the 2 hour training session. He sat with me and went over my whole list of questions, taught me and my pup and helped my puppy get over his fear of walking down the stairs!!! My puppies biggest issues were being outside, going down the stairs, pulling on the leash and eating anything he could find outside. Mike helped me gain confidence while walking him and helped me learn how to conquer these issues. It was an overall amazing lesson and i am so unbelievably thankful and grateful for his expertise! I contacted Mike after our six year old dog Charlie injured our older dog. We have a one year old son and I was extremely anxious about Charlie’s behaviors. He has had a difficult road with reactivity and separation anxiety since he was a puppy. I wish we had done this sooner. Anthony was amazing through our in home sessions and board and train. We took our dog Togo for board and train last year and after four weeks he returned home with the tools and skills that will help us guide him in overcoming his reactivity all thanks to Mike and his team. Just recently Togo returned from a two week board and train to reinforce everything he has learned within the past year now with the addition of the ecollar system. Togo has mastered the collar and further solidified his understanding of everything he has learned. The North Shore Paws Dog Training team has done amazing job with Togo, Mike is very approachable and responds to questions promptly. They constantly update you with videos and pictures, when it was time to pick him up we received thorough instructions on how to use the ecollar and also on everything he has learned. Mike was truly INCREDIBLE!! He came to our house to help us with our reactive 2 year oldToy Australian Shepherd, Ellie. He started by educating us, and then once he got into training Ellie, both of our jaws were on the floor at the way she responded to his tools. His techniques WORK! Mike was so patient, non judgmental and kind to us. Before the session, we had started to lose hope on the possibility of Ellie coming to our wedding ceremony, or ever having peaceful walks with her reactivity. We truly already see improvement in her obedience and reactivity and know that with consistent effort it’ll only get better. Mike is an absolute master at what he does! He trained both our 2-year-old Cockapoo and 6-month-old Mini Bernedoodle in basic obedience. Mike was incredibly effective in training our pups. They were able to learn more in just a few hours with Mike than we were able to teach them in months. Mike’s gentle yet assertive approach worked flawlessly, maximizing every second he spent with our dogs.

We were not sure what to expect going into this as our girl Koda is already 2 1/2 years old. We needed help with her behavior, and Mike started working with her as soon as he walked in our door. He also worked on crate training, which in the past we have had no success with . With five days of training and continuing to work on her skills we see such a change in her already. He has shown us how a little patience and consistency goes a long way. Mike was so willing to answer any questions that we had and he taught us the skills that we needed to help us become better dog owners. We are so happy with her progress that we will be having him come back to our home to work with our five year old shepherd.

In as much as you wouldnt like to get your dog from a puppy mill, you wouldnt want it trained in a facility where they have 40 dogs at a time. Thats what help me choose North Shore Paws: the personalized service, and I am happy I did. I was able to speak to Michael to ask questions and get updates on how my dog was doing. He also personally did the turn over once the training was completed and spent an hour with me going over everything. My dog Oliver did the 4 week train and board program and he improved immensely. Of course, once you get your dog back the work is on you to continue reinforcing the commands. I was delighted when I sat in a restaurant full of people in Port Jefferson with Oliver and he was completely relaxed, not barking, and walking by my side without pulling. I am grateful I found Michael and appreciate all the time he spent with my dog.

We just started and already we have a new dog my nine month old Cane Corso Responded so well. We were starting to give up with other trainers who just were not right for us. My 4.5 month pup spent 2 weeks with Mike and WOW!!! Not only did she learn so much, i felt very assured that my puppy was safe and in good hands. Mike was amazing. Went straight into learning about my dog Loki and what behaviors we wanted to solve. Went right out to the yard and started training. Gave us pointers and solutions that worked right away. I was worried about what would happen with other dogs around our complex and when one walked by going crazy, my dog was so focused on me and our training he was so calm and didn’t even react. That was the first time ever that I was confident to bring Loki out even when other dogs are around and look forward to being consistent with everything Mike taught us. Thanks again Mike!

I am extremely happy with how my session with Mike went. I started the session with a reactive dog walking from the parking lot to meet Mike. And then an hour later on the walk back to the car both my dog and I had the tools and knowledge on how to peacefully walk on the leash. I definitely saw results after the hour. Its going to take some practice but I have high hopes! Thank you!

I cannot recommend North Shore Paws enough. I knew very little about training a puppy and with Wesley being so young I didnt know where to start. Mike immediately made me feel less overwhelmed and started helping me with commands and crate training. I couldnt believe how much Wesley started to understand in just 2 hours. Mike showed me exactly how to continue training Wesley on my own until our next session (he even recorded the whole session so I can go back and watch). We were able to fit a lot in during the 2 hour 1 on 1 session and Wesley took a nice long nap after! I cant wait to have him back to continue with Wesleys training!

Today was our first day working with Mike. He was friendly, easy to talk to, and addressed our questions and concerns right off the bat. We have a cane corso who is growing quick and learning fast. I am so happy I went with Mike for training my 10 month old, Baloo. My first consult with Mike was on the phone and he gave me all the advice I needed to help with my puppy’s behavior. We ended up doing a Board and Train because he was having behavioral issues. While Baloo was away I felt stress free. I trusted Mike and knew Baloo was in good hands. We were in contact every day and I received pictures and videos through out his stay. I had a lot of anxiety with Baloo coming home worried I would not know what to do to continue his training. Mike made the transition of Baloo coming home so smooth for both Baloo and I. Mike showed me what he does, why and had me practice myself. He answered all of my questions and the best part of it was that Baloo came home with an e collar for training and a slip lead (items I thought I would have to purchase prior to him getting home but I was so relieved to find out it was included in the price!) If you are looking for a positive training experience for your dog look no further. NSP comes to you for an introductory session(s) before actual board and train. Anthony sent daily updates via picture or videos of Kirby my GSP. Being able to watch his progress and take note of the training style also helped us to know what to expect upon his return. They are very accommodating to your schedule and honestly care about the success of your dogs training and behavior. We are in awe every day how well Kirby is doing with us at home now. Mike was awesome! He worked with our one year old puppy to build on some training and taught us how to clean it up! The results were almost instant and really helpful. After an hour spent with Mike we learned some great tools to continue building on her training everyday !

Can’t thank Mike enough! Just had our first session. Luna is our rescue and is extremely anxious when new people are entering the home. This leads to her barking and approaching new guests threateningly which is anxiety producing for us because we love having friends and family over. We were fearful that we’d never be able to have guests or family over. Mikes techniques started working instantly and allowed luna to feel relaxed around him quickly especially with opening the doors and getting up from sitting which she has had a lot of trouble with.This is really the first time we have ever seen her like this ever with a stranger and so quickly. My wife and I are extremely hopeful now that if we continue working with her we will relieve her anxiety around new people. Mike gave us manageable tools that we can use everyday and effectively. Mike and Amanda were amazing. They kept me informed about my dog Bentley’s training throughout the 2 weeks he was there. Very professional too. When i picked up Bentley Mike made sure to show me everything he worked on with Bentley and made sure i was able to do the same to be able to continue the training back at home. I have had absolutely by far the most enriching, and fun experience for both my German Shepherd dog and myself today thanks to Mike. He brought not only his experience but also his enthusiasm which my dog picked up on immediately. She learned so much in one short hour while staying engaged and having fun. Wow! What an amazing experience we had with NSP and Michael. Our lab/pit mix is 2 years old and had been getting reactive and we were unable to walk her. She barked at people and animals when on a leash and pulled. She also barked at any animals/people she saw through windows and doors. After a 4 week board and train, her bad behaviors are gone. She listens to commands, can be in public without reacting, and walks beautifully. We are super thankful for Michael and NSP!

We were so fortunate to get Mike to train our two standard poodles who were having issues getting along with each other. As his Virtual Assistant, I get to see firsthand the talent that Mike has in training all dogs and their behaviors. He came to help us out with our dog, Blaze, who is such a great dog. Blaze is 80+ lbs and loves to jump on everyone who comes through our door. Blaze has other little quirks that he displays when he sees people or any movement out our front door. He was in our home for one hour, and I learned so much, and so did Blaze. We cant wait to have another session with him soon, Mike truly is the Long Island Dog Whisperer.

I had such a great experience at our 2 hour one on one training session. We recently got our 12 week old cane corso, Tank and knew we needed training for him. I drove an hour to north shore paws and it was so worth it! It’s like I brought home a different puppy. Any questions I had were answered and then some. During the 2 hour session we went over everything from basic training to door etiquette. They really know what they are doing here!! At our turnover (our training), Mike showed us step by step what Tank has learned during his ecollar training and taught us how to continue the training at home. Mike came to help me with my 12 pound Chihuahua mix dog. Olive struggles with barking at bikers and runners while on our walk, recall, and biting when nervous. Mike and his group did an amazing job with my boy Loki!! He was borderline unwalkable before his 3 week board and train. I was also worried being away from him for so long but Mike was so responsive to every text and concern I had......and we were also reassured with pictures and videos throughout his training. Mike is Great. We have a 7 1/2 month old 100 pound Cane Corso Apollo who was scared to go out the front door and would not go on walks due to an incident with a motorcycle. One session with Mike and hes doing much better. He will go outside with little to no problems and walks with confidence now. I cant wait for our next few sessions so we can work on a few other quirks Apollo has.

Mike arrived at 8 AM this morning on time to work with our Labrador retriever. Lucky was unable to walk on a leash because he drags us down the street and out of the house. We have a year and a half Rottweiler as you can imagine she was headstrong, and Difficult to control at times in an outside environment. we had previously worked with another trainer, and we’re not satisfied with the results. That’s when I contacted North Shore Paws, and after our first interaction with Anthony we felt that the dog and ourselves had an immediate connection with Anthony, his professional approach on training was to train myself and my husband on how to train our dog using positive reinforcement. As we all worked as a team on educating myself and my husband on techniques and training do’s and don’ts to reinforce the training. I can honestly say we were trained as much as our dog on positive methods to achieve positive results. we now can go out to public events with our dog confidently with no worries. Working with Anthony has been a growth experience for both of us and our dog. I highly recommend the team from North Shore Paws.

We hired Mike to re-train my parents’ almost 2 year old boxer (or should I say re-train my parents!) to not jump on visitors at their home. Mike was there 15 minutes when I walked in and then shortly after my sister walked in (as part of the training). The difference in only one class is like night and day. My parents have the tools (as do we) so now it’s about doing the homework! Mike is sending the recording of today’s training to review as needed and also told us to call or text with any questions or even video any issues that come up and send to him for help. Mike was great. He spent an hour talking to us about our daily schedule, needs and problems. He helped us change our puppy’s feeding schedule which helped greatly. The second hour was teaching us and the puppy the basics. Within 15 minutes she was sitting and we had learned how to teach her the other major commands. It has been 3 weeks since our training session and the puppy is no longer having accidents in the house and alerting at the back door when she wants to go outside. She sits, goes to the crate and lays down on command. I highly recommend Mike!

Amazing! Mike and the North Shore Paws team are super professional, kind and knowledgeable. Mike and his team treat all dogs like they are his own. It was so reassuring knowing our dog Renzo was in great hands. Updated pictures and videos daily of all of his progress. In 4 weeks he learned so many commands! We just finished our 2 week off leash board and train following the 2 week on leash board and train a month ago with our golden retriever Odin. We could not be happier with the results! Mike is extremely patient, kind, and knowledgeable about dog training. Mike is Odin’s favorite person and we wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving our dog with anyone else. We have a 14 month old retriever mix with obedience and behavioral issues. Anthony did an initial in home training session with our family where within a few minutes of observing our interactions identified the behavioral issues we were having. Turns out I needed the training more than our dog. He is extremely knowledgeable and was very patient in educating and teaching me on how to train our dog. Subsequently , we had five one on one training sessions with Anthony which were invaluable. When we started the training our dog didn’t know his name, commands come and free didn’t exist and the lack of trust. From the first training session to today six weeks later, Anthony had me hand feeding our dog everyday to build trust and to train him using his kibble. He provided me with homework every week. It has been a lot of work and time but well worth it! It’s made an incredible difference on our relationship and our dog now knows his name, follows commands such as place, free and come. I can’t thank Anthony and North Shore Paws enough for his knowledge, patience and making a happier home for our family.

Mike was kind, friendly and helpful! We came right in and showed us exactly what we needed to do to ensure our puppy would be safe our infant twins and be integrated into our home. He made sure to include my 8 year old with simple commands that work. It’s been less than a week and we’ve seen significantly less hyperactivity, accidents and jumping. We also noticed that with some added structure that Mike has provided, that our dog Cody wants to learn and earn his high stake prizes! I could not be happier with our 2 hour 1-on-1 with Mike! Just when we were giving up hope on our very energetic husky puppy, he came in and literally saved us. We got so much information including food, potty training, (which by the way worked instantly!), even some tips to help our young daughter’s interaction with the puppy! Mike had been an incredible when it comes to training my 4 month old German Shepherd/Doberman, Circe. Hes very hands on during the trainings, and he listens to all my concerns, and provides clear explanations and strategies to use. I especially appreciate the videos he sends from our training sessions. Our sessions are much about training Circe, as they are about training me. It is an absolute pleasure working with North Shore Paws. We hired them for a two hour training session to help with our dogs fear when someone new came to the house. They gave us the corrections that we so desperately needed and were seeking that other trainers did not provide. In addition to the corrections, they explained exactly why she was behaving the way she was and how the corrections will translate in her little puppy mind so she will be at ease when we have people over. Working with them took a tremendous amount of stress off of our shoulders because we now have control over her fear. We are looking forward to our next training sessions and helping us bring out the sweet puppy we know she is.

Today I had an amazing trainer by the name of Anthony from north shore paws. He took his time with me and my dog beauty and it was a refreshing feeling knowing that the bond between me and my dog is even better, his training was simple, clear and very much understandable. Because of his training and his techniques it feels like I have a totally different dog the commands are clear and her response is right on point, I didn’t have a bad dog or a dog that didn’t listen because I was already training her from different YouTube videos but Anthony just gave me that extra security when it comes to her behavior when outside. I would 100% recommend this training company to anyone who has difficulties with their dog and their behavior weather indoors or outdoors just having the connection with your dog means a lot and this company gave that to me today and I’m very grateful.

We had a wonderful experience working with North Shore Paws. Mike and Amanda provided a thorough and honest assessment of our dog. Our dog was a jumper, had terrible leash skills, and was extremely reactive to other dogs (lots of barking and excitement). We worked with Anthony during our five session package. He gave us homework each week which helped us to be accountable to the goals we had set up at intake. Mike and the staff at North Shore Paws were amazing, during our 2 week board and train they kept in contact with us and sent us pictures and videos of Bailey’s trading so we can see her progress. Call Mike and get started!Having had dogs my entire life and having aways treated them like a family member rather than just a pet I was always skeptical when it came to hiring someone else to train them - but after about 30 seconds of watching Mike interact with our Cane Corso, that worry quickly dissipated.Mike instantly gained a rapport with Diesel and he (Diesel) began to respond to the training instantly. Our 3year old pitbull Odin became very reactive on the leash. I was unable to walk him for more than 10 minutes without him losing his mind on people,dogs,cars, etc. He also became very protective when new people would enter the house. We booked him for a 2 week board and train. Mike and Amanda answered all of our questions, always kept in touch with videos and text updates which made us feel very comfortable as we were having a hard time leaving him. I took him for his first walk the day after his training and I can’t begin to explain the improvement. We passed cars/trucks, people, dogs and with a few small corrections, he was back on track. There was no freak out, no stress and it was the best walk we have had in a year and a half. They also gave us the tools we need to keep him calm when someone new enters the house.If you aren’t sure about boarding your dog here, I can promise you that you will not regret it. Leaving our dogs for a 3-week board and train was hard for us, but leaving them in such competent, professional hands made it that much easier. I knew our dogs were being cared for by people who clearly love dogs and working with them. When we picked up our stubborn Scottish Terriers, they had learned so much in the time they were with North Shore Paws. And what they had learned will change their lives and ours for the better. We now know how to effectively correct our dogs’ behaviors, and because of that we can do so much more WITH them instead of leaving them at home! We learned the techiques at our our turn-over session, where Anthony took his time to make sure we fully understood how to effectively communicate with our dogs. Extremely happy with the results we got from 3 weeks of training. Before training he was constantly jumping and during dinner would always try to get up on someone’s chair. Now when he jumps a simple no and he stops. During dinner we give him the “place” command and he will sit there the entire time. For a 9 month old puppy what more could you ask for. After 3 weeks of boarding when it was time for pickup up they spent over an hour going over all we needed to know to help us to continue his training at home. Absolutely the best dog trainer we have ever had. From 1st meeting to completion it was all excellent. They respond fast to inquires, set up an intake to access the situation and recommend a plan that works for us. Our issue was a pitbull who wasnt trusting of people. Anthony came to out home each week and worked with us and Shea. He respected her boundaries and she did not like him. Anthony saw the loving dog inside her hard exterior like we did.
