Robin is the best dog trainer in Orange county, New York. She specializes in training reactive dogs. She doesnt just train the dog. She trains the owner on how to handle the dog in certain situations. She has trained all three of my Springer spaniels. I highly recommend her. She is patient, understanding and kind. Robbin had a reactive dog herself and understands a dogs body language and can steer you in the right direction with your pet. Robin has shown me that training a dog isnt a one-time thing. Its everyday and you have to keep up with it. If youre looking for a dog trainer, dont hesitate to call her she truly is amazing at what she does, and you will see a difference in your dog with the first lesson you take with Robin.

As first time dog owners we knew we wanted to set ourselves and our new pup up for success so we contacted Robin immediately for training sessions. And we are so glad we did! After working with Robin, we were given the tools and mindset we needed to train our lab mix and with work and repetition we have a well rounded, obedient dog that suits our family perfectly! It’s not all work though, we are all rewarded by having a no stress pet that can be taken on fun pack outings as well!Thank you, Robin!

I highly recommend Robin for your dog training needs. She is highly knowledgeable and dedicated in obedience training, and genuinely cares about helping to improve your life with your dog. I’ve had the best experience so far and have only just begun. I’ve done about 10 private lessons, and have attended about 7 of the group classes she offers for existing clients. I will continue to do so as each lesson and exposure only strengthens my own knowledge and ensures I will be able to communicate needs/wants/boundaries/and rules to my dog in a way she understands and appreciates. Robin is consistent, motivating, fun, and flexible. I truly am having the best experience with my new dog. Just about everywhere we go, someone comments about how well behaved my pup is! The credit definitely goes to my lessons with Robin.

It has been such a pleasure working with Robin! It has made such a difference in how much I am enjoying my dog. Robin is a very experienced and a knowledgeable dog trainer. Robin understands a dog’s nature and how they think. Equally important, she knows the human errors that lead to negative dog behaviors and teaches you corrections.Robin has helped to train my feisty dachshund to become more obedient and more willing to look to me for direction.Training sessions are fun and informative. We have been working with Robin for about a year now, so this review is long overdue. The short version is... its like we have a new dog!Before working with Robin, our dog Autumn was very reactive around other dogs, barking, growling, and lunging. Since starting with Robin, the transformation has been incredible. Autumn has become much more neutral and no longer pulls when walking. Its been a real game changer. Previously, we had to be very selective about where and when we could take her, but now we can take her everywhere.Robin is extremely knowledgeable and truly understands dog behavior. We could not be happier with the progress Autumn has made and highly recommend Robins services! I got my two dogs in my divorce and sought out Robin to help me as the younger of the two was getting pushy with me and my older guy. I wasnt sure what could be done since he was already 4, but I was open to learning because what Id done all my life wasnt working.Robin has a well-balanced empathetic, yet no nonsense approach and was able observe us and make recommendations for ways I could work with my dog; not just get him to behave. Similar to cognitive behavioral therapy, she was there to help me recognize patterns and cycles in my own behavior as well as his. 6 months later, Max is a completely different dog; he has confidence, understands rules and boundaries, and I can take him out in public. I cannot recommend Robin enough.

I’m a new puppy owner and let me tell you, with only 1 phone call and 1 training session, my husband and I can ALREADY see an improvement—whether it be from our puppy, our direction, and even in our confidence as owners! Look, Robin’s insight and advice WORKS. You just have to be willing to implement changes—all in which are truthfully best for you and your pup. Prior to Robin, we struggled and felt lost. Now, we are hooked and can’t wait to experience more successes with Robin as we raise our boy!

When we got our dog, Tuco, last year he was an 8-week old Whoodle puppy coming into our family as we grieved the sudden loss of our beloved, 6-year old Wheaten. We did not start training with Robin until Tuco was between 10-11 months old but she came into our family just in time. The transformation in our (we are a family of 4) relationship with Tuco was immediate…as soon as Robin came to the door and began instructing US not necessarily training Tuco. We knew in that moment we had to adjust our own behavior for his sake…especially unfairly comparing him to our other dog. Tuco was well on his way to being an anxious, out of control (or maybe in full control of us!), highly reactive dog making for an unenjoyable, tense home environment but that ALL changed with Robin’s expert knowledge and patient guidance. We worked one-on-one with Robin as a family in the home, in the yard, and in the community. Robin always makes time to answer a “quick” question or problem-solve on the phone, providing much-needed suggestions and solutions when feeling unsure. We are now in our second round of group classes and having so much fun!We cannot thank Robin enough…because of her we all got on the same page in our house, which is what Tuco needed most from us…and now we are all enjoying the awesome dog that he was meant to be. Do I wish we called Robin sooner? Yes. But it is never too late!

Robin is absolutely wonderful! I had two fully grown out of control German Shepherds and I was at my wits end with them to the point I didnt enjoy them anymore because I was constantly yelling at them. Robin has helped me regain control in my house, and also help build a better relationship with both dogs. They were both once very anxious/nervous dogs however now that they know I am in control they are much more relaxed and calm. I have seen major improvements in so many areas with them I cant wait to continue training and continue to build that relationship with both of them. My one dog was terrified of the vet to where he would put the brakes on and not budge as we approached the door but today he walked right in because he is more confident now with the proper training. Highly highly recommend Robin, she has wonderful knowledge for dog obedience and really has a passion for what she does.

Highly Recommend Robin’s Nest for pet training. I thought my dog was too old to be trained. He is a 3 year old Chiweenie. He is an anxious dog who would bark at every sound while outside. Walking him on a leash was very difficult as he would pull so hard he would choke himself. We have been working with Robin one time a week for about 6 weeks. In that amount of time, Harley is not barking at every person and dog we pass. He is now walking much better on the leash and waits for me to tell him it is ok to leave the house. Robin is very knowledgeable and patient while training. I have seen a huge difference in my dog and it is all because of Robin.

I highly recommend Robins Pet Car & K9 training! I have been working with Robin Joy Liss for about 9-10 months now with my 13 months old golden retriever, Louie. She does mid day visits for me when my wife and I are work and we have done several training sessions.First for the pet care- she charges very fair and reasonable rates. She is consistent, constantly communicates with us on behavior (both positive and negative), and I truly trust her with my dog.In terms of training, she is amazing! Her training is centered around prong collar and e-collar training. She has transformed my dog into the most well behaved little boy there is! Everyone is so impressed with what Louie can do. Her training philosophy is balanced - both positive and negative behavior reinforcement- and to me it makes perfect sense and it has worked incredibly well! In addition, since we use her for dog-sitting, the rates for training sessions are incredible!Highly, highly, recommend Robin! You will be thankful you did!

I reached out to Robin in the beginning of March in regards to my dogs manors and some behavior issues.He used to pull on the leash, have aggressive behavior towards other dogs and not listen to us when we were outside. She was up for the challenge!! After our first meet and some basics our dog Charlie already started to change. My wife and I started to change too. She explained not only is it him, but its us too. We have to show WE are the leaders of this pack and he has nothing to worry about. We have used Robin since and will continue to use her great training techniques. She really is amazing and affordable!! If i would give 10 stars i would!!!

Very rude on the phone. Makes you feel like you’re an inadequate owner so that she can PUSH how she believes is “the only way to train a dog”. There are many ways to train. Every dog responds differently to different training styles just like people learn in different ways. I am glad that I called and got to talk to her for a few minutes so that I knew I would never want to give her my money or trust her with any pets. DO NOT JUST READ GOOGLE REVIEWS CHECK YELP

Robin is the best! We have been using her for about 15 years now. She took care of our old dogs and has been there with us with our new dogs as well. Shes has loved all our dogs as if they were her own. Im so thankful and am at such peace knowing shes the one looking after them. Shes accommodating and professional!! Love her and her staff!!
