McClains Balanced Dog Training

I am so thrilled that we found McClain. Not only is she an incredible trainer, but she’s fun, compassionate, extremely funny and charismatic. My dogs Bobby and Jack absolutely love her. McClain really did a great job training Bobby to be a well behaved, obedient dog at a crucial time in his puppy development. She was also able to help with my older dog Jack’s resource guarding, which I thought would be impossible to fix. It took her about 10 minutes. After spending the summer training with McClain, we took both of our dogs on a road trip from NYC to LA and back. They did so well! I know it’s in large part because of our investment in training with McClain.

McClain is awesome to work with! My mini Aussie Maisie is my first dog so there was a lot I needed to learn about working with her. So many things fell into place for both me and my dog with regular training sessions: Understanding that she needs a job, being consistent, training on a daily basis, giving her lots of exercise, setting boundaries, etc. Both Maisie and I looked forward all week to our time with McClain. And if Maisie happens to spot McClain working with another dog in town, she is over the moon! We both love her!❤️

McClain is professional and very knowledgeable. Her love and care for animals is unmatched and anyone who chooses to use her, is in the best hands. My dog has made so much progress since being in McClains care, I can’t wait to continue our relationship with her and watch my dog progress even more

McClain is the best trainer I have ever had the pleasure to work with. My dog Birdie is obsessed with her and waits by the door every time I say McClain knowing that her best friend will be there to take her on pack walks and give her the support and training she needs. McClain has been training our family’s 5 dogs for the past 3 years. Her loving, gentle-but firm- and wise expertise is unsurpassed. After my 17 years of “training” with our dogs, I can finally understand them all-aged 13, 3, 3, & 1 years and 4 mos. Our son’s newest family addition-puppy-is potty-trained, confident and sociable with all humans and dogs; she’s not afraid of anything!McClain can handle any old or new issue as well as “train” us parents! She truly understands and loves dogs! My family and dogs revere her. We are incredibly lucky to have her come for weekly training and pack walks during the summer and fall. Wish she lived out east all year round.

McClain did a wonderful job with our bernadoodle. She was able to solve the behavioral issues we were having, and gave us a working plan to keep the positive behavior moving forward. She is incredibly thoughtful and thorough, and takes pride in forming a strong connection with both the dog, and the family she is working with. I highly recommend using McClain for any of your dog training needs in the hamptons.

McClain took my wild dog-child and turned her into an amazing service dog!! Basil is a super sweet, high energy black lab. Before McClain, I couldn’t walk her and she wouldn’t even get n my car! Now, she goes everywhere with me, there’s slack in the leash and she keeps learning new ways to assist. I’m SO grateful for McClain!!

McClain was our savior. We confidently brought home our 2nd Lab puppy, thinking we’ve done this before. Hubris, Rio coming from a large litter wanted attention, and hated his crate.Called McLain, she gave us program and set Rio up for success. Couldn’t recommend more.

I sought out McClain based on a referral from a friend that had worked with her. She helped my dog with leash training, food refusal, and basic commands. My relationship with my dog improved drastically resulting from McClain’s help and she was patient, reliable, and I kind of want to be her.

McClain is very personable and has been great at teaching us how to approach training Layla, not just what to do but WHY it works. She understands how to make training accessible and has helped us be better dog owners!
