Jo-Mar Grooming & Boarding

1st time here. The receptionist met me with a smile. Drop off was great. My little boy looks fantastic! Im so glad I took him here

This place is HORRIBLE!!!!!!If you want your dog to almost DIE---this is the place to go.We dropped off our Frenchie to get grommed. We told them that he needs to be taken care of right away. They assured us that they know that Frenchies have difficulty breathing and would call us as soon as they were done. A call never came. We went to pick him up and they said that he was just about done. Our dog came out GASPING FOR AIR and STRUGGLING TO BREATHE. We questioned his condition and they said that he was fine a minute ago. Our dog layed on the floor and proceed to throw up and continued struggling to breath. They had the name and address of an animal hospital near by, ready to give us. They were prepared for this.We rushed him to the hospitall where he continued to throw up. We arrived at the hospital and they told us that his lips were purple and he would have died if he arrived a few minutes later. They had to extubate him and gave him a series of medications as well as as a cooling jacket and ice baths to bring his temperature down. It was 103.8. We came to learn that the owner has now retired and moved to Florida and left her unqualified staff in charge. They put my dog in a cage and put a HOT fan directly blowing on him. He could not BREATHE and had an anxiety attach. We have no idea how long he was in this cage or how long the fan was blowing, as no on would give us answers. ANIMAL ABUSE!!!! This place needs to closed DOWN!!!!!!!!!The response from the owner is nothing but LIES!!!!She sits in her condo in Florida, (drinking coffee---her words) and manages her unqualified staff from thousands of miles away. What kind of owner does that????She was not present at the location at the time, how can she speak to what exactly happened???? Her employees gave their account of the horrific incident---which is totally INACCURATE!!!! They did not tell the truth as they fear losing their job.She herself told me that this would have never happened if I were there...Im not going to get into he said she said. I know what happened and my account is accurate. Ive made it a mission of mine to make everyone in the neighborhood and on social media aware of this ANIMAL ABUSE. AGAIN, THIS BUSINESS SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN-------I leave it up to the consumer----if you wish to take a chance on Jo-Mar and risk your beloved pets health....go for it.

We were nervous about boarding our bulldog because weve had negative experiences in the past at other places.. This place was absolutely amazing and Cathy whos a bulldog and all around dog lover was totally fantastic with our dog. It put my mind at ease while we were away for 2 weeks. We had photos and updates sent to us and he was groomed as well.Thank you Jo Mar staff and Cathy! 💕

My dogs Kona the husky and Tiki the mix love Jo-Mar they get tons of attention and time in the kiddie pool and get their daily walks and lots of love - plus they come home smelling delicious after the bath they receive- I would highly recommend for overnight boarding -

Got our dogs nails trimmed, and anal glands expressed. No wait, and our little munchkin seemed happy and well taken care of. The place has been around for decades, and theres a reason for that. They treat YOUR pet (and you) very well. Good prices too.

These people are wonderful. I have left my dog with them.on several occasions while I travel, and they take such good care of him, and also administering his medication.Great people with animals.

It was our first time coming to Jo Mar and we were blown away. Our dog, Elton smells and looks amazing! We knew we were in good hands when they recognized his breed right away when we walked in. We’ve been to several different groomers and Jo Mar is by far the best in the quality of the groom, thoroughness and friendliness. We’re so happy to support a local business and will always bring our boy here!

Amazing first experience! Very friendly staff, you can just tell that everyone working there loves animals and wants the best for your dog. I took my 3 year old Golden for a full groom and he came out perfectly. The pricing was very reasonable and I will definitely be taking him back and highly recommend Jo-Mar to anyone needing a great local groomer!

I took my puppy there for the first time. The receptionist was so nice when I made the appointment.It was a great experience. When I got there the groomer Peter came out to talk to me about the kind of cut I wanted. He was so helpful. He held my puppy and handled him so affectionately. I felt very comfortable leaving him there. When I picked him up I was so happy. He did a fantastic job. My puppy looked so handsome!! I will definitely recommend them to everyone. I give 5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!!

They take real good care of my two doggos, whether grooming or boarding. Everyone is friendly and professional. They do a real nice job with the final shaping of the fur to suit the dog s shape. Nice work.

The people who work here took excellent care of my dog & gave him personal treatment, like he was a superstar. He got at least 2 walks a day when he stayed over night, & was washed & groomed when I picked him up. I dont like leaving him with others, but these people I trust & do recommend them.

This place is great! My dog always comes home clean and happy from JoMar. The staff is very nice and eager to clean and play with my dog. They do a great job bathing my english bulldog and the prices are very fair.

Best groomers in the business. Weve been trusting our babies to Cathy and Scott for 20+ years. They treat our Copper and Lucy like one of their own. By the way...we LOVE Lucy’s new haircut!!!!We HIGHLY recommend!

Jo Mar is an amazing place to bring your dog. We would board our dog there, and when we get another dog I will also board with them. They were so kind to stay late when my flight was delayed with no extra charge and send me videos and pictures. We love Jo Mar!!

Always professional service. My two dogs love to go there for grooming. When I say who wants to go to Jo-Mar, they start jumping with excitement. The staff is excellent.

They social distance to 1 person inside while you stand outside and wait. Me and my pup waited outaode for 20 minutes. Once inside while the others wait outside the people are unfriendly. They dont tell you that rabies arent enough before you get there. Now you have to leave because they didnt tell me they needed distemper too. I went to new hyde bark. They ask for rabies and are very friendly...good pricing and Raina is amazing. What a mwss.

Beyond horrible experience! Made an appt to drop my dog at 9 with pickup at 12. I called at 1:30, they told me he would be ready at 4. Unacceptable!! Told them I would be there at 2 he better be ready. Still waited 15 mins for him.My poor puppy looked awful......I told them puppy cut as he is a Shitzu. He was scalped and his ears are so short they dont lay flat. Seriously, my 6 yr old could have done better. Will NOT be returning and will make sure people are aware this is NOT the only groomer in town.

They really seem to love animals here. Not just groom and send you home. Very friendly. Would definitely bring my dog here again.

As a first time walk-in.Two weeks ago I brought in my 2yr old GoldenDoodle Lulu (65)lbs. for just a bath.Wow!! She came back beautiful.Highly recommended.Thank you.

I left my dog here for grooming for 4 hours. When I came back they had left my dog in a corner and forgotten about her with no food or water. The employees there were very unhelpful about it and I had to demand my money back. I do not recommend going here.

I dont know about their Grooming, but I wasnt very happy with their Boarding at all. Dropped my two dogs off in the early morning for an overnight stay with a jar of kibble (theyre used to free-feeding). Next day, barely any of the kibble was missing out of the jar, one dog had a small scratch on his snout near the nose, and both ran for their food bowls and emptied out their water bowls twice drinking and eating. Dont know what happened.

Dropped my 2 dogs off at 8:30 for their appointment scheduled a month in advance and was called an hour later to pick up my dogs because one of their groomers did not show for work. I was told the other groomers could not fill in. No apology that life Had been a customer since 2005.

I dont know how they are in business. They never answer the phone. I have been calling since Tuesday after someone told me to callback when I called over the weekend. They couldnt even answer my questions on pricing that 1 time they did pick up because they were only their for the kennals. Smh. Very poor customer service. If they cant even bother to answer the phones or questions, what kind of care are they providing pets?

The most important thing about grooming and boarding places is the friendliness of its staff. Jo-Mar is simply the best.

My two Yorkies came home from their first visit happy and extra adorable. Staff was very friendly.

Nice cut but drop off at ten am for five pm pick up just isnt acceptable. I just learned that you can schedule a pick up time but I see no reviews or reference about it.

Took my baby three times to Jo-mar. And each time I took him they did not do as I ask . The third time they cut him so short that he got Chafe. He was itching for days and very agitated because of it. I am very unsatisfied and will not be returning toJo-mar .

I took my dog here and he came home with a little scratch on his nose but he is way to hyper so I wont blame the groomer on that but otherwise they did a very good job

I didnt know exactly what my wife had in mind for the dog , so they walked me through it and I made an executive decision with a lot of help from the front desk clerk. I brought two dogs there before - a shih-tzu and a maltese. Both cuts were GREAT and the prices are as well.My one bone to pick with them was when I brought my dog and told them short and they left him long because the groomer just rushed into the front and grabbed the dog to the back without actually really listening to what I wanted to say. I ended up driving there, seeing my dogs hair being way too long, asked them to re-do it and had to drive home and wait for another 2 hours to pick him up. If she has listened to me the first time, then it wouldnt have been a problem.The staff kinda seems hungry for tips and seems to stand around a bit waiting for you to give something to them. They also book up VERY fast and one of the people who books the appointments doesnt seem to be too bright - doesnt know when the appointments are and puts you on hold for a REALLY long time.Even with all that, I would bring my dogs there again because of the great cuts and shapes they gave them.
