I have worked with Sal twice over the years and he helped me and my dogs greatly. In the early 2000s I brought my dog Wynne to him, she was a rescue and had some aggression issues - in particular towards other dogs. He helped me to understand her better and helped her get over her fear and anxiety - all while socializing her and learning basic obedience. In 2011 I adopted a dog from out of state and had him shipped to New York from down south. I knew he was good with kids, had some aggression issues towards males and was soon to be euthanized if he wasnt adopted . . . So, I really didnt know what I was getting. When Dooley arrived, I immediately knew I was out of my element. I could barely control him when walking him and he was literally terrified of everything. I immediately called Sal and explained the situation. On the day I brought Dooley out to Sal to be evaluated he tried to attack a visiting trainer Sal was working with! Sal still calmly evaluated Dooley and we enrolled for training. When I left training Dooley was bomb proof and 10+ years later he still is. Sal helped me mold a terrified dog into a calm, self assured, intuitive family dog. I could not have asked for a better outcome.Dooley reads situations well and will look to me for guidance when he is unsure of how to respond - he truly is the perfect dog and I know a lot of this stems from the time we put in training with Sal. Here we are years later and I can say I dont 100% agree with Sals view on specific breeds but if we still lived in the area he would have been the first call I made when we chose to add a new dog to the family. Thank you Sal for your help with Wynne and later Dooley, I will ALWAYS stand by you as a trainer.

I was trained by Sal And his staff when we got our German Shepard George. It was an hour a week with an hour drive to and from his facility. BEST time I ever spent for my dog. It has been a wonderful experience from day one. Sal and his staff were so respectful of me and my dog. I brought George back for a “refresher course” At no charge. When it comes time for a new member of our family, Sal will be my first call. I have had dogs for many years, my biggest regret is that I did not have Sal to train all of them. I have always been met with professional dedication. My dog started as a puppy and continues to learn. My dog has NEVER been mistreated and I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and respect.My daughter and I chose K-9 Services Unlimited for their professionalism, dedication and training techniques.Dont believe the naysayers. Wannabe trainers are dangerous. Sal Piazza and Jerod are the real deal.

My name is Amanda Morales and I wanted to make sure that anyone who gives a one star rating on this business should really be ashamed of themselves. First, any business has the right to do what it feels. How can anyone dispute that there is a problem with The Pit Bull Terrier. You see it everywhere. Another child or dog being attacked. With that being said. I know the people at Piazzas K-9 Services very well. I enrolled in their Police Dog Instructors course a few years back. They are so professional and kind. I learned so much from them. I challenge anyone who gave them a low rating to prove they have taken a course from them. It cant be done. They deserve much higher than a 5 star. In fact, I drove three times a week taking a three hour drive just to attend their school. Unless you have personal knowledge and have trained there, you have no right to make comments such as you did. They are truly the best.

I brought my German Shepherd pup there when she was around 14 weeks old. They did an evaluation and gave me a very fair price based on her temperament and what she would need, and we enrolled in advanced obedience. My dog, Val, and I would go twice a week for an hour for nearly four months. Jessica and Sal work with you until they feel confident both you and your dog have bonded and are trained - they don’t charge extra or cut you off if you need more time. I have an unbelievably well-trained German Shepherd in Manhattan...I can walk her on the busy streets and work her off-leash in Central Park without worrying about her running off or getting distracted - mind you, I adopted my dog off craigs list so she’s not an elite dog bred with that temperament, our bond and her wonderful behavior is 100% because of the skills Jessica and Sal taught us. Piazza K-9 services is much more than a business, they treat every person willing to put forth the effort like family. they had me over for dinner, and even helped me with managing my own stressors in life because how the human behaves can adversely affect your dog and your training. They are wonderful people and I can’t think of a better experience for both you and your dog.

I brought my 4 month old lab/husky puppy here for training. I compleated advanced training in 14 weeks and nearly a year later, I can honestly say I am happy with this decision. My dog is respectful of my commands on and off leash and I know I could not have done this training on my own. My dog does not jump on people, is always alert to where I am and what I am doing, and, when on my property, is almost never on a leash because I don’t have to fear that he will ignore a command. This class taught me how to read my dogs body language and how to ensure the continued respect that is needed to maintain a successful partnership with my dog. A lot of politics surround this business right now, however politics aside, they are great trainers and I have, and will continue to, recommend them for anyone serious about training their dog.

I feel that 99% of these negative reviews Im reading are from people who clearly must have not actually trained their dog with this service. I had both of my dogs trained through K9 Services Unlimited and as my 5 star rating shows am very pleased with the results. Training for my two dogs was especially important for me as my dogs had aggression problems between each other. By the end of the six months their aggression reduced to almost none between each other. I learned how to read body language, be the pack leader and in the event a dog fight breaks out- how to safely diffuse that situation. Sal is very knowledgeable despite what any of these negative reviews say, and does truly care about his clients. He has even given me counsel well after my course has ended. Good people to do business with. If you want to go to a mary poppins dog trainer who sugar coats everything and makes you feel great every week, this is not the place for you. Sal and Jessica will be real and honest with you about your dog and do everything they can to teach you how to become an educated and confident handler. Ultimately, however, the responsibility is on you. Work your dog!

Thanks to the tips and techniques taught to us by Piazzas K-9 Services my German Shepard Shadow has developed the skills and confidence that are expected of the breed. When I contacted Sal, Shadow was just a little pup full of energy. He got into everything imaginable and jumped on everything/everyone. We were very impressed with the knowledge Sal and his wife Jessica brought to us that helped us correct these issues with Shadow. I am so proud to say, Shadow has now grown into a great dog with manners and has blended well with our family. Sal and Jessica has always and continues to make themselves available for any questions or concerns regarding Shadow. I would highly recommend Piazzas K-9 Services Unlimited to anyone.

My dog took advanced training there. Sals 37 years of experience was evident right from the very beginning with the temperament testing. I did lots of research on Sals experience, references, and training methods before taking my dog to him. Within days of working with him my dog was doing what I wanted him to do. By the end of 12 weeks my dog, found his purpose and love and wanted to work for me. Now I have a dog who heels at my side off leash and will come running to me from hundreds of yards away with a single recall, lays down on command without hesitation, stays, and the intense distraction training that they receive with all the other dogs is second to none. They will never experience that much distraction in real world, so they’ll be ready for anything. And most importantly you Learn dog behavior and training methods that you will take away forever

Do NOT bring your dog to this “trainer” he will steal your money and not help you with your dog. So many other options of actual professional, educated trainers in the area do not go to this scammer. He pushes for people who own pits to euthanize them. He gives actual professionals a bad name. A trainer that is afraid of a dog breed has no business working in this business. This guy is a joke.

K-9 Services Unlimited has been in the business longer than Ive been alive and came highly recommended as a first-rate trainer and one thats been able to solve all kinds of problems. If you want an expert with decades of knowledge and experience, I, too, recommend K-9 Services Unlimited.

It is their perogative to train pitbulls or not...they have been in business for a long time....so to attack them and say you have to train Pitbulls or that they dont know what they are dining...is crazy...He may not have the same love for pitbulls a lot of people do....but he obviously knows what he is doing and keeping those people and other pets on his property is his highest priority, how can you people judge him?? If he were judging you, you would be pissed...leave him alone....let him run his business, and let him choose which dogs he will train or not.....it does not effect you....I am sorry that your business is being attacked sir....I like all dogs regardless of breed.......

Called about services. Took forever to get a return call. The person on the phone was rude and unprofessional as well as Unknowledgeable. I was looking for a trainer for my nieces dog in that area since I’m too far away to help her personally. We decided to go another route after they refused to answer basic training questions about their methods unless we paid. Well no we aren’t going to pay before we find out if you believe in hitting dogs during training.

The five star reviews for this business are clearly fake. This is by far the worst choice to train your dog. They are frauds, choose a true professional.

Very unprofessional company. They try forcing their views on you and bash you if you disagree. Would never take one of my dogs to people who are so rude and disgusting.

If you want to bring your dog someplace safe to a trainer with common sense, this is a good place to go.

This is not an animal friendly training facility and that is when I would truly look for when trusting somebody with my dog

I enrolled my dog into piazzas k9 service when he was 8 weeks old. They did a great job and my dog is obedient and well socialized around other dogs as well as children. Would highly recommend if you are committed to training and practicing with your pet.

Wouldnt waste your time with a business who cant train every breed of dog. There are way more qualified trainers in that area.

We went to K9 services for obedience training with our then 7 month old Cockapoo pup...my husband and I and our dog all learned valuable lessons during the training...our dog who is now a year and a half is a well trained joy to behold...the staff at K9 geared the training to our small dog and we joined classes with larger breeds without ever fearing for our dogs safety...we cant say enough good about our experience with K9 services! These people do not love dogs. They are cruel, judgemental, and unprofessional. Go else where.

Outmoded training methods are used
