We started attending Follow the Leda after taking some introductory classes elsewhere. We really leveled-up! since coming to FTL! We work with Cindy, who is just a phenomenal teacher! We have learned skills and terminology that are common in agility, and weve done tons of drills to really drill home some foundational skills. This year we attended our first agility competition and were delighted to do well, thanks to all the work Cindy has done with us. Possibility the best part about FTL is the community spirit--weve learned so much from our classmates! They are all much more experienced than us, and weve learned so much from their insights and observations, as well as some of their hand-me-downs. FTL has parties and games and celebrations all the time, as well as in-depth workshops with outside experts. This is an amazing place to attend regardless of whether you are new to agility or a seasoned expert.

Follow the Leda offers the best environment to train! For newbies and experienced trainers alike! Supportive and actively competing trainers are bring current and relevant training to us as students. The environment for the dogs is controlled and non-threatening, adding to the positive energy and excitement they experience. We love it and are so grateful we found Follow the Leda.

My ~18-month-old Airedale and I have been attending classes at Follow the Leda for a few months and weve had an incredibly positive experience. The instructors with whom weve worked use an almost exclusively positive reinforcement approach (no punishment whatsoever, which is great!) and our dog has responded so well; she retains her learning from class to class. Shes always excited when we get to the facility and nice and sleepy when we get home! The building and equipment are also maintained well and there is clearly so much care and intentionality that goes into both the classes and the overall structure of their training program.

My three dogs and I love being students at FTL! All of the instructors are top notch and there is a wonderful sense of community that allows people to feel encouraged and supported. I would recommend anyone who wants to start their agility journey to come to Follow The Leda.

Follow The Leda is a fantastic place to train agility! As a dog trainer myself I appreciate the attention to detail in instruction. The knowledge to keep dogs safe and not put puppies on equipment too early so they will be able to play far longer into their careers. All while keeping training fun for both dog and handler. I have been training at Follow the Leda for 9 years. Tara is a talented teacher, trainer and competitor. As a teacher she is gives clear instruction and has creative/fun ways for both pups and humans to learn. As a trainer she is well versed in effective training techniques and as a competitor she excels in every venue she participates in. Follow the Leda provides excellent training, from the ground up. Ive been #BLESSED by Taras experience with fast border collies, and Ive gotten dozens of tools to use with my girl, Ellie ❤️ Our training there has grown us into a better team, both in agility & in life.

I started going here in the Spring of this year and I only have good things to say. I have been training with Cindy and she has done an amazing job of teaching both my dog and myself on how to proper handle him. She has taught me the foundations in a way that I can understand and she has a good understanding of proper training approaches for both agility and everyday life skills. The training arena is large with all the obstacles. We are both still very much novices, but we are looking forward to continuing to build on the foundations, get more advanced on obstacles and eventually enter into competitions! The most important experience Ive gained is developing a closer relationship with my 2 year old Vizsla.

I have been to the facility with my daughter and it is one of the best. People are kind and friendly, insteuctirs are awesome and have been more than helpful and caring to her. She loves it there.

Ive been attending classes at Follow the Leda since 2016. They teach the humans how to analyze courses and move through in the best way in addition to teaching dog training from agility foundation work to learning each obstacle and on. The facility is always clean and the instructors and students are awesome. I highly recommend!

Follow The Leda Agility Training is simply the best! Tara is extremely gifted, knowledgeable and successful in the sport of agility. She is very supportive to anyone looking to learn and enjoy the sport of agility with their dogs. She is constantly working toward advancing her own knowledge in order to then pass it along her to students. The facility is top notch with an amazing turf surface and the equipment is top of the line always with dog and handler safety in mind. A top notch facility with top notch instructors.

I started training here earlier this year, and I cant say enough good things about FTL. Ive done a lot of training in competition obedience and rally, but no agility, and I could not have asked for a better introduction to the sport. Everyone is friendly, positive and wants you and your dog to succeed, and boy do they know their stuff to help get you there. Safety and health of the dogs is always a priority- Im a small animal veterinarian and I will absolutely continue to train my dogs here for their long and sound careers. We are having an absolute blast doing it!!!

My dog and I started group training at Follow the LEDA a couple months ago and it has been such an amazing time. We started our beginner classes with Kara. Shes been so great helping us learn and grow our bond. I love that we train with positive reinforcement. My dog loves our homework sessions and is always so excited to go to class. Great place for dogs of all ages. Even if you dont plan on competing, Id recommend training with Follow the LEDA!

Tilda and I have been training at Follow the Leda since Tilda was a very high energy Border Collie puppy three years ago. We have grown together in our training and understanding of the sport in our weekly classes. Tara teaches and leads by example and helps each team grow at their individual pace while setting a high standard for behavior, compassion and learning. I’m so grateful for all we have learned at Follow the Leda and see it reflected every day in Tilda’s behavior AND LOVE FOR AGILITY.

Tara, and Follow the Leda in general, is the absolute best. As someone new to dog agility, I can attest that Tara, along with all of the instructors she employs, maintain an emphasis on engagement and relationship with your dog first and titles later.I have now taken lessons (I believe) with every instructor on staff: Tara, Kara, Jared, Cindy, Faith and John. A World Class Trainer and Facility. Tara not only is a World Class Trainer, she is a top International Competitor. She is detailed in her training methods, analyzing dog and handler on the fly; generating a customized approach to training each and every team. My dogs and I look forward to every training session, its definitely the biggest highlight of the week for my girls. Tara has made a huge impact in my Agility Life, finding hidden confidence and talent in both myself and my dogs. We are Grateful.

My mutt, Boon and I started agility training with Tara in January and keep coming back every session! The direction, coaching, and equipment of this training facility is top notch. They train you and your dog just as they would train themselves, instilling foundation techniques that will make sure youre not cutting any corners when setting them up for future training. If their ribbons and awards dont speak for themselves, the hands-on approach from Tara and the trainers give you every opportunity to succeed whether youre looking for competition or just some new challenges for your dog. This is a great agility facility. Taras instruction is top notch because she is always prepared. She has a great lesson plan with clearly defined goals each week. Tara and her staff meet you at your dogs level to then improve your performance. I highly recommend training here!

I started foundation class here with my dog when she was just a puppy. I walked in the door with no previous knowledge or experience in agility, just wanted to try something new. Over the past year and a half, I have completely fallen in love with the sport thanks to the contagious passion, knowledge, and incredibly patient, thorough instruction from the trainers.If you live in/near the area and are interested in agility, count yourself so lucky to have the opportunity to train at FTL. I’m on my second dog here. My vet recommended them. With that kind of recommendation, how do you not check them out? The instructors are great. The facility is amazing. The training is fun, friendly, and kind. My dog has a great time running and playing with me. I tell everyone they should check out Follow the Leda if they’re interested in agility. I’m new to agility. FTL has a reputation for being THE BEST ... I’ve trained with 4 different trainers there and every one is excellent. Positive, supportive trainers and classmates. I love hearing “Good dog training!” - reminding us that we are TRAINING our dogs, reminding us to be positive, to reward good behavior ... and at the same time accepting exactly where the dog is at. Very happy to be part of this group and looking forward to competing!

I have been taking seminars and lessons for over six years at Follow The Leda -even while living several hours away- and I was always impressed with the content of all instruction here, as well the attitude of proprietor and instructor Tara Baggerman. When my family decided to move two years ago, proximity to Follow The Leda was paramount in our choice of location. I could not be happier to live so close to a place to take classes, lessons and seminars. The equipment is top notch and the rubber infill, turf footing keeps my very fast dogs injury-free and happy to play agility.As an agility instructor in the past, I can be very fussy about where I will work my dogs and who I will work with, but Follow The Leda goes above and beyond. A fantastic business with a superior group of instructors and seminar presenters.Follow The Leda also keeps student tuition affordable, while constantly showing appreciation for the students - even offering ring rentals, which can be difficult to find at such a high quality facility. It is truly a great place to train and to be part of a pretty incredible agility community. 100% recommend FTL to people who are new to agility OR those who are well versed in the sport!

The trainers here are wonderful! They take the time to explain the fundamentals and treat each dog as unique. You can tell how much they love what they do and our dog cannot wait to go to class each week. If you are looking for a positive, rich learning experience that will be fun for you and your dog, this is where you need to be!

If its difficult for you to learn with vague instructions, this is the place to be! Tara will give you what you need to do in steps: 1,2,3 --- so easy to understand, especially for this aging handler. Wow -- it make so much sense when she explains it. And...listen to this.....she makes it FUN while youre learning!! The whole experience is so positive; you leave feeling as if you have just had a top of the world coaching session and your dog is awesome!! Sooo good!

I began training at Follow the Leda in October of 2020 with my 6 year old terrier mix. Being a nervous dog, he struggled at first, but with the help of FTL’s incredibly knowledgeable and experienced staff, he now LOVES his days at FTL!FTL provides a fun, safe, and educational environment for agility students young and old, from novice to experienced. Their attention to detail is surpassed by none, and every instructor’s love for agility, their dogs, and the hobby is clear from the moment you step into a class. I have trained with Tara for years. She demonstrates an eye for handling and a unique ability to help each team meet their potential. In addition to classes, she offers many workshop and seminars as well unique opportunities for her students to learn.

Follow the Leda is one of my favorite places to be. I train three Shelties in Agility classes there and the instructors are full of great skills. The facility is comfortable with a top notch turf and equipment. We have been in puppy classes, group classes, and taken private lessons and gone to workshops. The skills we have learned are transferrable to any trial venue I have been to or watched.

I have been training both my dogs (my 3yo adopted Doberman and my 5mo BC puppy) at FTL where we are working on agility foundations, and I couldnt be more pleased with how my dogs are working! Both are very soft and sensitive, and I chose FTL specifically for their focus on solid foundations and FUN for the dog. The classes are challenging but NEVER make my dogs uncomfortable; we always take their lead and allow them to opt into or out of any exercise they choose. This has led to my dogs working enthusiastically and with clear heads consistently. They both LOVE class and are excelling. They are happy to work and are learning concepts with ease and clarity.FTLs dog-first culture has allowed my pups to thrive, and our training relationship to grow by leaps and bounds! The instruction and comradery makes each class enjoyable, and one hour always goes by too fast!

Please keep reading for my long explanation 😊As a horse professional of 17 years who deals with horse and people clients I have to say I am so thankful I found Tara Baggerman and Follow the Leda when looking for an agility family. Dogs (like horses) take patients, positive reinforcement, direction and expectations based on the individual...this is something not everyone is willing to give, but these are all things Tara demands 😊I was impressed that one of the first things I learned at Follow the Leda was the dog comes first and they will not be pushed beyond where they are emotionally and physically due to age. The dogs welfare always comes first, the ultimate goal is fun! The dogs will only be asked for more when their bodies AND their minds (hearts) allow it! Dogs (like horses) shouldn’t be asked for too much physically at a young age due to their bone and body development, this is a must at Follow the Leda. Dogs are only allowed to proceed to a certain level of contact training and jump height depending on their age and body development.I have learned with horses, while I have a set of expectations (criteria), I must always take into account the type of horse I am training and who they are as an individual. This is very similar to dealing with different personalities with dogs. Part of my enthusiastic support of Tara and Follow the Leda is every trainers ability to accommodate dogs of different personalities.Like all animal based sports agility tends to be two steps forward one step back some of the time. This has been the case in my experience with my wonderful dog who is lacking in confidence. I am so thankful for Tara and all of the amazing trainers I have worked with at Follow the Leda. Their patience, instruction and encouragement has help me and Maisie get to a place today that even a month ago felt impossible.I truly can’t say enough about the trainers and the correct way of training at Follow the Leda. My dog and I have really enjoyed our time at Follow the Leda over the past several months! The various trainers we have worked with are kind, friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. They understand that not all dogs/teams have the same experience or are at the same place with each skill and trailer each class to that which I find to be so helpful. I have gained so much knowledge on training my dogs by taking classes here. I’ve trained with renown world trainers at seminars while using a consistent handling system. There are excellent trainers here that are really devoted to helping everyone succeed using positive behavioral reward system as well.

Signing up for agility classes at Follow the Leda has been one of the best decisions weve made for our rescue pup, Soju. He has built so much confidence and his humans have learned so much. Were only a few months in and the transformation is really remarkable.We really appreciate the focus on patience and small wins and the judgement-free environment, especially since Soju was not the most obedient pup in his first class. I used to be very apprehensive about the world of dog agility. I was nervous everyone involved was going to be like a Christopher Guest movie stereotype, thankfully I was wrong. One of the best facilities for doing and learning dog agility in the region. Great instructors! Fabulous turf footing, great up to date equipment. Clean healthy environment. Made me feel at home right from the start, when I became a student last December.
