Really seriously disappointed. You have a beautiful Park system in this area and yet you go to a dog park to socialize your animal and its smaller than some peoples kitchens or living room. But being compliant like I am I followed the signage which told me that I needed to register my dog at City Hall. I went down there and everyone was nice enough however they wanted to charge me $60 to utilize this insufficient and quite frankly embarrassment for a dog park in a town of this size. Now mind you Im only going to be here for several days visiting for Thanksgiving yet they want to charge me 60 bucks to let my dog walk around a small pen area?.! I do like the fact however that they are controlling who utilizes the dog park and make sure that theyre registered and have their tags but to what point when everyone is walking their dogs around regardless. I cant imagine that many people must use this or pay this fee for this tiny little muddy patch of ground thats surrounded by a fence? Im just leaving this review cuz Im hoping somebody in charge of the city or town sees this and realizes that maybe they need to stop over there and take a look at whats going on because its just not up to par.
Just discovered this charming little dog park, not far from our house. Perfect walking distance from anywhere downtown. I like how there are two separate sections of the park, one side for bigger dogs, one side for smaller pups. Good idea for safety purposes. Nice wooden gazebo out front, a place for those without dogs to sit and just enjoy the view, as we did that day. Highly recommend to any and all pup owners!
This is a great place to bring your dog for a run, Ive been coming since February. The park is generally populated by friendly people and dogs who love to run and play with others. Its a great atmosphere for socializing and Id recommend it to anyone. You do have to register at the Geneva town hall, and there is a nominal fee to get a door code. But its something that pays for itself in clean, well maintained grounds and days of fun.
A dog park that you have to register for and pay a subscription? Just about the dumbest thing Ive heard of... Take a look at Ithaca, their dog park is bigger, better maintained, more populated with other dogs, and best yet, there is not a single fee for using it. Donation box, which I have used multiple times because they do such an awesome job, but no fees. Its a shame because I live closer to the Geneva park, but worth the extra 15min in the car to enjoy the red-tape-free, bigger, and nicer park that Ithaca has to offer.
Solid park, but theres a lot of bare dirt (without grass), so our dogs got filthy being there for a half hour or so.Plus theres a magnetic lock on the gate with a keypad and a sign that says sign up for a bark park membership and ask for the latest code, so it looks like it may be locked for non members sometimes? It was open when we went but worth noting.
We were so sad and disappointed when we drove from Penn Yan to discover we couldn’t take our dog here because it’s private and members only. Don’t bother bringing your dog here unless you want to pay a yearly fee, have them pre-screen your dog and be met with a laundry list of rules you and your dog are to follow while there. It’s very unfortunate that a city dog park would subject its residents and visitors to stringent rules that don’t make any sense. We’ve traveled throughout this beautiful country of ours and have never seen a city run dog park that charges money to enter. What a shame!!!!
My owner said its too much red tape just to let me play!! Its too far from home to justify joining for $60 a year, but would of been nice to know it was an option if he happened to be in town with me. Some sort of visitors pass for dogs like me would be appreciated.Billy.
The Geneva Park park for your lovely early animals to come to play. I take my dog here and she loves it there is a big part of the dog park for large dogs and there is a small part for small dogs that is smaller but they have a lot of time to play and get to have fun and exercise and where there Selfs out so these are a fantastic place to go don’t threaten there is a place where they can get water as well inside of the park and to sign up you would have to go to bed Geneva mayors office and sign up a few papers and they also would need copies of their recent Raby shots and they’re very nice about it and we welcome you to this little dog friendly and family-friendly place
Casts $60 a season to use it. We were tourist who wanted to exercise our dog. Nope. May not be coming back to Geneva. Ever.
Out of town visitors sad you don’t offer this to your visiting guests. We’re feeding your economy but our dog can’t exercise between stops
Its very nice. Just one problem. It seems to be for Geneva resident only... It has a look and a code entrance. Fortunately it was unlockedSo we were officially trespassing.
Didn’t appear to be open on Saturday morning, no other dogs around either. I didn’t research it at all just assumed it would open to the public
Clean nice and easy to go to ,to let your fur babies have some fun and knowing the gates are locked makes u feel more at ease
Was not able to enter unless we register our dog and pay a fee. As we are from out of town, it certainly wasnt worth it.
A community of Geneva residents who all love their dogs.
Great place to let your dog run without getting away@
If people will pay attention things will look brighter...
