D.O.G. Board N Train

Our Boys needed some extra training to become the fine, young gentlemen they were destined to be. After learning about this program through their groomer, we signed them up for the five-week program. Mission accomplished! We were so impressed with Francine’s and Amber’s care, expertise, and attention to detail. They were also kind and professional and went out of their way to answer our questions and address any of our concerns. Highly recommend!

D.OG. Board and Train was the best thing we did for our pup, Harley! We were having issues with him coming when called, jumping, and walking on leash politely. I have a mobility issue and needed Harley to walk nicely on my right side. Francine and Amber were able to solve all of Harley’s issues and train him to heel on the right. Harley came back to us a new, well behaved, polite dog that I now enjoy walking.He still is playful and loves his snuggles, but is more calm and content.We loved getting the twice weekly updates via email, with photos and videos, from Amber on Harley’s progress while he was away and the in person trainings for us were key as well.We highly recommend D.O.G. Fran is a a miracle worker! Our Bernese mountain dog puppy was much larger than she was well behaved. We were struggling with basic commands like “come” and keeping her from jumping on guests and our small children. When we went to our training session with Amber, our dog was transformed! Fran even came to our home to help us encourage Artemis to enthusiastically walk down our basement steps (before she had had an irrational fear of the steps). Both Amber and Francine were excellent to work with- we really appreciated Amber’s communication during the weeks they were caring for Artemis. Our dog is so well behaved & happy. D.O.G Board N Train has benefited our entire family. We will certainly bring all future dog family members to Fran and her excellent team

Fran and Amber did an amazing job with our lab who had little to no recall and darted all over on leashed walks. Knowing that we can hike off leash and know he will come back when called is priceless. And walks are a pleasure now. It’s been almost a year since his stay and we have never regretted our investment and decision to use D.O.G Board and Train.

Major thanks to Francine and crew for helping us with our 6 month headstrong, unmannerly black lab. He wasnt a bad dog, but just needed the expert training that D.O.G. Board N Train could provide. We just didnt have the time to use a trainer on a weekly basis, so we decided to do the Rock Star 4 week program, where our dog was at the facility for the duration. We were concerned at first about how our puppy was faring, but Amber and Rachel returned my emails in a very timely manner and they included photos of our dog, which put us at ease!Francine WILL train your dog - no doubt about it. She is confident and friendly and answers all of your questions - she is a wealth of knowledge about how dogs think and how us humans need to change our ways as well. Without knowing it, we were part of the problem. We now know how to handle our dog and its been absolutely wonderful! We now have a well behaved dog whom we can enjoy much more, and I think our dog feels more confident/happy too. But rest assured, your dog will not lose his/her personality as our dog is still a silly goofball that we fell in love with.

I cant even begin to say how happy and impressed I am at how D.O.G Board N Train has transformed my dog, Benny. Before going to training, Benny used to bark at everything - people, dogs, leaves blowing past him, and even fire hydrants. He was so embarrassing to take out to public places and even taking him out to use the bathroom would give me anxiety. So Benny never went out to places because I would die of embarrassment every time.The twice a week pupdates sent out during Bennys 5 week stay really keep you on the loop of how your dog is doing. But the best part of the program is when you get to go visit and see for yourself how your dog is progressing. After finishing the 5 week program, Benny is a whole new dog. He is no longer distracted when walking, listens to commands at home, and is just all around a much better dog. Amber and Francine did a great job in training him. I told Amber and Francine that my main goal for sending him to D.O.G Board N Train was to have a dog that I can enjoy spending time with. And thats exactly what they gave me.

Francine and her staff were excellent with my dog Kiwi with the Rockstar training program. Kiwi came back a totally new dog. I dont have a fenced in yard but now I can let out Kiwi without worrying shes going to run off. She heels very well and isnt as reactive to other dogs as she was in the past. On our hikes off-leash, Kiwi is continually looking back at me to see where I am, and its been so much fun taking her out off-leash and knowing I have full control over her.

We sent our dog, Molly, for the Rockstar program for general obedience and off leash work. We couldnt be happier with the results! We no longer have to worry about Molly running out the door or jumping on guests. We were nervous about sending her for so long, but Amber sent us progress reports and pictures that were very reassuring. Even though the training has calmed her down, she still has the big personality that we love!

They did an amazing job training our dog! They are very informative and keep you updated every step of the way. I 100% recommend them for anyone who is looking to train their dog. I have a friend who also had their dog trained with them and 2 years later the dog is still as trained as when they first left (that is the reason why I wanted my dog to be trained here).

I considered myself an experienced dog owner (having previously had 4 other dogs in my lifetime), until I adopted my female Golden Retriever named Tala! We adopted Tala when she was 7 months old. As Tala settled into being in our home and with our family, her behavior began to worsen. She was mouthing/biting me to the point that I was getting black and blue marks on my arm. I couldnt take her for walks, both for exercise and to relieve herself, without getting attacked! Tala would also play very rough with my 9 year old by jumping on her and nipping. Tala was also resource guarding which was a significant concern for us. Essentially, Tala was out of control. We were not enjoying our time with her, and she was causing a great deal of stress within our family. We knew we had to do something, so we contacted Francine...thank goodness!After Talas 4 weeks of training with Francine and Amber, she was transformed into an obedient, secure, and happy pup. We visited at the training facility half-way through the training and immediately saw an improvement. We were very optimistic! Francine brought Tala back to us once the training was completed and spent a significance amount of time teaching us how to work with Tala in order to continue reinforcing her training. Now, we literally have a completely different dog and we are all so in love with our Tala girl!I have also used the boarding services offered. It is convenient and I feel incredibly comfortable leaving Tala. Plus, Tala loves being back! I love that Talas initial training continues to be reinforced and practiced during her stay.I cannot recommend Francine and Amber highly enough! Their expertise, compassion, and patience with dogs and their humans is stellar. I am so grateful to these amazing ladies for enabling my family to have our dream dog.

We put our 6 month old black lab Duke through the Rockstar program. For 5 weeks Duke stayed and received training from Amber and Francine. We are 100% satisfied at the results. Using the e-collar and the training has made a huge difference on the family dynamic, we now have control over our dog instead of the other way around. The jumping and friendly nipping and uncontrollable ways are now a thing of the past. Thank you Amber and Francine for helping Duke and our family!

Our 1-year-old rescue Ellies bad behavior was beyond what Id ever experienced and we knew wed need help. We started straight away with private lessons because we also knew we didnt have the control to be around a group of people and other dogs. The lessons were good, solid advice and we implemented all suggestions however Ellie doubled down and got worse. I spent weeks researching options and we nervously decided to sign her up for the D.O.G Rockstar program. The idea of weeks without her, the collar, and the cost was a lot to think about. We werent looking for a show-worthy dog with pristine manners, but a dog who can exist in this world, giving us all the most out of it!Thats exactly what we got! Ellie came home both a new dog and exactly the same. She (and us) learned a new way of direction that not only allows her to do normal dog activities but has given her an independence she didnt know she needed! Any concern she would have any personality change or depression was unwarranted. She is her jovial and chaotic self but now with tools to relax and focus. Its incredible. Francine and Amber were wonderful from the initial call I made for information through the drop-off lesson at home. We cant thank them enough!!

We brought our 6 month old Springer Spaniel puppy Goldie to Francine and Amber as we have never had a dog before, only cats. We were so nervous to leave Goldie for a whole month and of course were concerned she would not be the same sweet girl once we got her back. We were, of course, being foolish. Between the lessons we did with Amber at their space and in town, and the lesson at our home with Francine, we couldnt be happier with the results. Goldie is still very much herself as we knew her, but so much more well behaved, which is much better for our well being. We couldnt be happier with the results and are having so much more fun with Goldie now. Thanks Francine and Amber! A & J

D.O.G Board N Train was a wonderful service and experience. Amber and Francine did a fantastic job, I completely trust their advanced knowledge and expertise. Our doggie came back very well trained and now we have the tools to keep him safe and continue his learning. 10/10 would recommend this to anyone in need of a board and train!

We had the best experience having our 6 month old German Shorthaired Pointer trained at DOG Board n Train. It was a challenge for us to think about being separated for over 4 weeks but the time flew by and they were so good about giving us regular updates and pictures. Our main concerns were running out the door into the street and not coming back when called. When our pup returned from DOG, she was so well behaved and had learned to return when called, heel on leash, sit/stay in place, wait (no more rushing out the door) and more. And honestly the best review is that when we took her back for parsing while we traveled she ran right in and didn’t look back - so clearly she enjoyed her time there too! The staff was wonderful and you could tell they care as much for our pup as we do! We’re so happy to have worked with Francine and her team!

We are grateful to the Francine & Amber for their incredible work with our pup, Lexi in the Good Dog But program. Lexi came home a much more relaxed and focused dog and we have more confidence in our ability to build on the great work of everyone of D.O.G. Board N Train.

Absolutely AMAZING. I have an awesome 1 year old Rottweiler who just has A LOT of energy and terrible on/off leash obedience and jumping on people. I made the hard decision to send him away here for the 4 week board and train and it was worth every penny and every minute away from my dog! He came back the same pup, just with greater obedience and listening skills. Taking walks is now a dream come true and i can truly enjoy every moment with my dog without worrying or getting frustrated. Wonderful staff/trainers and would trust them with all my dogs and will go nowhere else when i need a trainer!

Francine and Amber were amazing with out 6 month old Labradoodle. He is so well behaved now. Walking him now is a dream come true and having him sit on his place while cooking/eating is amazing. As long as you stick with what they taught you it works. Worth every penny!

The crew at DOG Board NTrain are amazing. First of all, our dog is a joy to be around after the 3 week education time with Francine. Secondly, now we are able to leave Coco for reminders of her training when we go on vacation. Wonderful organization.

Francine was simply awesome. I have never had a dog trained before, so I had my doubts. Francine literally resolved any doubts that I had. My dog was a bit of a bronco, but he came home an obedient soldier. I am impressed with her professionalism, knowledge, and care, as she treated my dog Max with care, love, and firmness. I recommend this service to anyone!

At the beginning of August I dropped off a sweet dog that marched to the tune of her own drummer. When I picked her up a month later, I was the drummer! All the things that used to drive me nuts are gone, and I feel as liberated as the day I got my drivers license. I can take her places and it isnt a hassle. She listens to me. We just went for a hike in the woods and instead of be being yanked to exhaustion we just... walked. Fantastic results.

Francine, Amber and all the staff at board and train did an amazing job transforming our wild pup into the great family dog we were looking for. We cannot thank them enough for all their hard work.

Harry was my wild child, I’m shocked and amazed what his training has done for him and our family! He can’t do his commands fast enough for me! He’s a complete joy to be around now! Wow! What a difference!

Sending our dog to this training school changed our lives. We went from having an unruly puppy to a well behaved little gentleman in 1 month. A year and a half later he is still a very well behaved little guy.

My very headstrong black lab, that jumped & pulled at anything & everything & couldn’t be walked without a prong collar. Is now a well behaved , yet still playful pup.
