Review of Dally’s Hope for Paws- I had nothing but a positive experience from the moment I started emailing with I think her name was Donna? I then drove to Hagaman to meet with Penny and to meet the dog I was interested in, Laverne. Penny was awesome! She asked all the right questions that should be asked of a potential adopter and gave me all the information I needed to help me make an informed decision if Laverne would be the right fit for our household. She wanted to meet my other dog to make sure the two dogs got along.I understand it is difficult to be rejected for not being able to let a dog out every 2 hrs but I don’t think that’s unreasonable at first when bringing home a rescue dog. I always took two weeks vacation whenever I adopted dogs and made arrangements for the dog to be let out every few hrs for another 2 weeks after that. And good thing I have a fenced yard because Laverne (now Daisy) is an escape artist who also ended up requiring installation of an Invisible Fence. So I don’t think Penny or her crew are being unreasonable. Very few rescue groups will let you adopt without a fenced yard.Penny followed up with me to see how Laverne (Daisy) was adapting. And yes, she cried when I took Daisy home from her rescue. Boy, if that makes someone, unhinged, then aren’t most of us dog lovers unhinged?? If you want to adopt from a place where dogs come and go everyday and no one sheds a tear, go to a shelter.

I literally called this lady this morning in hopes of possibly getting a lead for rehoming our dog due to having a baby and the dog just not adjusting to him. She was very rude and I told her I didn’t feel comfortable with her finding a place for my dog and she replied Im a trainer B$&@?”And then hung up the phone!! I couldn’t believe it, it was the first time I called her and the call lasted literally 3 seconds. I am completely dumbfounded.. anybody had any similar experience? I can’t believe this just happened

I rescued 2 huskies who were running in traffic and while I couldn’t take them in myself, was committed to helping them find a good home. Weeks passed and I was losing hope until Penny (from Dally’s) drove over 2 hours to get them. She is connecting them with a foster-to-adopt family. This would not have been possible without her. I am relieved and overjoyed to be able to finally celebrate what now feels like a true rescue. Thank you, Penny, for all you do.

Penny is a wonderful human being, extremely caring for her fur babies. We just adopted Dooblay and are in love, it was a good match for us and Dooblay, he is a wonderful dog! Penny was very thorough, which we appreciate, she could sense we are good parents to animals, we all got along great. Thank you Penny for what you do and Dooblay thanks you too 🐾💞

**Warning: This review has a heavy-hearted conclusion.**We had a dog named Honey who was adopted from another shelter—not to be confused with Dallys Hope 4 Paws Rescue. After she turned five years old, my partner and I had just finished setting her up with pet insurance and decided it was time for us to find a friend for our beloved dog. We first began our search on Petfinder, where we found another pup named Daisy. Everything matched up with what we were looking for: similar age and another goofball with equal energy to our Border Collie/German Shepherd mix. We were ecstatic to meet them. The application process went really well at first. We had only one dog, two cats, and direct access from the house to a huge fenced-in yard. In addition to this, I am always home due to the nature of my occupation, out of the four occupants that live here.We were then directed to another foster to find out that Daisy was an Out-Of-Town pet, which was not an issue for us as transportation was available. However, this was not listed on her page, nor was the fact that she had not been spayed yet. Her page clearly stated otherwise. The second part of the application process, such as the phone interview, was put on hold for a two-month period as we found out that she was also being treated for heartworms. At some point in between these developments, the initial contact recommended another dog to us by the name of Brownie. We were still determined to adopt Daisy, so we settled on taking in both. Our house is plenty spacious, and both of their stories pulled at our heartstrings. This is unfortunately where our story takes a turn for the worst, as our beloved dog Honey was in a tragic accident and passed away before she could meet either of these dogs. We were beyond devastated. My partner and I have lost animals before in our childhoods, but Honey was the first pet under our independent care, and we deeply faulted ourselves for it. We tried everything we could to save her. When we finally reached the point of the phone interview, we chose to be honest. Honey had been hit by a car and was no longer with us. Before my partner could even begin explaining how it occurred, the foster parent berated them. They stated that they would never let us adopt now. How she could only picture Daisys sweet face dead. This absolutely shocked the both of us. We were grieving pet owners trying to explain that we do not allow our dog to free roam, even with 82 acres of property out in the middle of nowhere. We have a beautiful fenced-in yard wrapped with chicken wire, and our dog was never allowed to roam the fields without constant supervision and a leash, let alone near the road. We could never have foreseen what happened. They failed to hear out any of this rationale, choosing to shout incomprehensibly, leading up to their abrupt hang-up.The fosters name will not be mentioned unless I am contacted directly. And I wish to apologize to the establishment itself for leaving a one-star review, as I am sure it is a wonderful place that goes above and beyond for their animals. Unfortunately, two mourning dog parents were left feeling far worse about their tragedy.

I drive transport for this rescue and also fostered/adopted one of my sweet dogs from Dallys Hope 4 Paws. I love this rescue for the care and attention the dogs recieve from the moment they walk through Pennys door. Dogs pulled from kill shelters, abandoned, abused, forgotten, and scared, so many of them come here and get the nourishment, vet care, training and love they all deserve. They get to learn how to trust and how to be dogs again. They learn what it means to be family. Every dog comes with their own unique history and personality and Penny and her precious team of angels do their best to find the perfect family to match each dogs needs.

Penny absolutely goes above and beyond to care and love these dogs. We adopted Annie Oakley yesterday. Her new name is Ginger. She is the most loving sweet little puppy. Penny gave us a bag of food, toys a microchip, all of the information we will need for her first appointment with our vet. During my phone interview, Penny gave me a lot of tips on how to help Ginger feel welcome and how to care for a puppy. She truly loves them. I would highly recommend Dally Hope 4 paws to anyone who is looking to add a very loving and well-cared for (once Peny gets them) Dog to their family.

I recently adopted Maggie May (aka Yoti). I had been searching and running into brick walls until I came across Dallys Hope 4 Paws. Reggie and Penny worked with me every step of the way and then some. They made sure to have my new Puppy in tip top shape and interviewed me carefully and professionally. It was not only a blessing to see the love they have for all the dogs, but also that Maggie and I are a perfect match. Im so happy and thankful for them making this a painless experience! They work very hard to save the lives and find the perfect forever homes for the dogs and pups. Highly recommend.

Penny is very thorough , kind and she is all about finding her dogs a perfect FOREVER home. 💕 The adoption fee is very reasonable considering all of the time, transportation , food/ housing and vetting. I bring the dog I adopted to visit Penny when I come into town and there’s nothing but mutual love. It’s clear she puts her heart and soul into this rescue.

First, having had multiple rescue dogs in the last 20+ years, I just want to say that I have all the respect in the world for this organization and everything they do. That being said, there should be a warning that you will not even be CONSIDERED if you work full time. I inquired about a certain dog and was sent an email with some more information about the dog, as well as a few questions about my current situation, pretty standard stuff, no issues with any of that. I received a reply email saying because I work full time, they did not agree that I should have a dog, as well as state I would need to take at least a month off of work to help the dog acclimate to its new home (not sure how many people can do that). I sent a response explaining I lived close to my work, and getting home on breaks would be no issue, so the dog would not necessarily be alone for a full work day. Did not receive a reply to that. The dog was still listed on Petfinder for another week and a half after, before I saw on post on their Facebook saying he was finally adopted and that they couldnt believe NO ONE had inquired about him before. Im happy the dog found a great home, not so happy with how I was dismissed and not given a chance to defend my case for, what I feel like, were some pretty unreasonable requirements.

Very unprofessional and with poor communication skills. I originally wrote an email to the owner after I was given her name and information by someone who has adopted there before. I asked if there were any puppies in need of homes and provided a lengthy email about mine and my husbands life, work schedule, home, etc. She responded with a simple 1 line saying no, keep a look out. I wrote back asking where is the best place to keep an eye out and got no response. After searching and seeing puppies available by her my husband emailed a message. It was a very odd experince as he had to provide 3 different emails regarding our schedules and each time, they relayed it back to us incorrectly. It was apparent they were not reading the emails or decided to disregard information. When we asked if we could call to clarify and make sure we were all understanding eachother, we got no response. Overall, they do not have an organized, formal, and professional adoption process. They simply email you informally, and often do not get back to you. I am not mad we did not get the puppy as this is how adoption goes, it just caused us undue frustration and we were saddened to be treated and dismissed the way we were when we were hopeful and excited. We have been attempting to adopt through over 5 different services and each one was communicative, organized, and had a strict/organized formal process to make sure these puppies have a good home. We are pleased to say we are in the process of adopting a puppy and giving him a forever home from a different place who took us through a more strict process, but were communicative, organized, and respectful. Unfortunately, wish I read some of the owners posts on Facebook prior as they are crude and she will comment on something you may have said in an email. I work in the community with many people looking to adopt so I will refer elsewhere.

I read the bad reviews and I am not saying they are wrong but they do not consider her side in the situation. I think she cares alot about the dogs that she has and gets very emotional. She cried after I was ready to go with my new family member. I have two cats that I was concerned about by adopting a 2 yrs old German shepherd but she brought lily to my house to make sure she wouldnt attack them. She did not show aggression towards them at all. She is a very sweet and loving dog that follows me and my wife around happily and is very obedient and caring. We are both very happy with our choice. So before you judge someone try to understand their point of view.

This rescue goes above and beyond for all of the dogs in their care! From rescuing, to transport, to finding loving homes, and beyond! We adopted our sweet girl from them just over a year ago and have had nothing but positive experiences from the moment we first made contact! Would recommend them to anyone!

I was interested in adopting a certain pup. The assistant took certain information from me via email to start the process. Gave my phone number hoping to hear something. I followed up several times only to find out today that they adopted out the very pup I was interested in. Not a very fair business practice.

Very disappointing. no conversation and a lot of assumptions based on a few questions. then two days later the dog that had no indication of any pending adoption was taken off the market when i expressed i was still interested wondering why the call i was told i would get from reggie “the screener” who takes one sentence and focuses on it. She is not open to communication and talks over top of you. This seems like a two lady operation and they enjoy the power that they have giving people hope and then taking it away. there was no reason given why they would not even allow me to come see the dog i inquired about. Bad businesspretty much exactly the same as their other review. these women are not on the up and up.

This is the last place people should go to find a dog. Its a scam to grab money. The woman running this business knows nothing about matching dogs to new homes. She should be prevented from using these dogs to make money like this. Avoid at all costs!

Do yourself and your family a favor do not adopt from this shop. They discriminate against people who work full time jobs! They send a 5 question email back and make decisions on how long you work. Also discriminates against those who dont have a fenced in yard.

What started off as a very communicative, positive experience quickly went sour. I was interested in a dog and was told that if things didnt work out, my $100 would be refunded, and that they only say the deposit is non-refundable to weed out people who are not serious. So I went ahead with the deposit, trusting that this information was accurate. On Petfinder, it says the dog was neutered. He was not. I couldnt bring an unaltered male into my home with my 2 other dogs. After immense pressure to say if I would move forward with the adoption, I thought it best to let one of the many other interested adopters have there chances to give this pup a wonderful home. I asked to look at another dog I was interested but that one was pending. Penny seems to care about where these dogs are going, which I am thankful for, but after her unhinged attitude when asking for the deposit (that I was specifically informed WAS refundable), I will never deal with this rescue again. I have rescued all my animals and NEVER have I ever been met with such unprofessionalism and neuroticism from a rescue. Best of luck to anyone who wishes to deal with Penny.
