Ludworth Kennels

Ludworth is a family business. Both Tom and David take very good care of the dogs there. We always board our dog with them and she comes back happy. They take the dogs outside when weather permits. You need to call them to make the arrangements.

Recently started boarding our dog here - one short stay and one long stay - and had a great experience. They seem to legitimately like the animals (i.e. not just a business). And the dogs seem to get a good bit of outdoor and social time, which is exactly what I wanted for our enthusiastic pooch. To me, the dog being wiped out and tired after staying with them, is definitely a feature, not a bug. Highly recommend it.

This place went above and beyond for our dog, Darwin. We were days from our summer vacation and had planned on having Darwin stay at Ludworth for 2 weeks. Right before, he caught a terrible ear infection and hurt his paw. Tom and his wonderful staff at Ludworth took such amazing care of Darwin, taking him back and forth to the vet several times, changing his bandages, and just giving him the care he needed while we were away. Couldnt recommend a place more highly for the care they provide. Its definitely no frills for humans, but a great place to safely leave your pet with the peace of mind they will have a very happy stay. Once again, thanks so much Tom for youre taking such great care of our pooch!

Our rotti has been here a few times and she loves it. We had last minute travel and the staff were extremely understanding and worked with us. Our #1 choice in all things pup sitting. Keep up the great work

Max my 110 lbs Rottweiler loves going to Ludworth. I havent had any issues and he seems well taken care of. They are also very accommodating, which is a plus when you need boarding.

We came here in search of a place to board our two cats and the set up was just sad. They had a caged indoor space attached to a caged outdoor space by which the cats could move from one space to another through a hole. The place didnt get a lot of natural light and each caged spot was pretty small. No where for the cats to climb or to get any exercise. No toys, scratch posts, nothing. Barely the bare minimum. Clearly this is a place that is more geared for boarding dogs and they decided to use the dank, dark barn for cats. Its cheap, sure, but if you truly love your cats you wouldnt leave them here. The guy who showed us around was nice, the place was not. Its no wonder they dont have any pictures posted of the cat boarding area on their website.

I love Ludworth kennels and have used them for years for my three dogs… They are very kind and nice with my pups 🐶 👍

Cannot recommend this place enough! My dogs absolutely love it here. The owner and the whole staff are so lovely and look forward to seeing my two doggies. I can tell they are given lots of attention here and come back nice and tired.

My dog stayed for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of our schedule. They washed our dog too, and the cost was very good.But when our dog got home, he went straight to his water and food, and then slept for hours. We were able to peek in the barn where the dogs sleep, and it looked old and unsanitary. We gave them a bag with blankets and a stuffed animal so that our dog can feel a little more comfortable at the kennel, but they didn’t put it in his kennel during the stay.It was our dog’s 3rd time to stay at a kennel, so we don’t have much experience. But what we can say is that he’s been on two 14h flights before, and he didn’t act as fatigued as he did when he got back from this kennel. He’s usually very playful and energetic, so it was shocking to see how weak he looked. We saw many positive reviews, so we’re sure this kennel fits some dogs very well, but not for every dog. but we appreciate that the kennel kept our dog safe during our vacation.

We have been using Ludworth Kennels for almost 40 years and 6 different dogs. In all that time we have had nothing but positive experiences. The dogs are always happy to go and happy when we pick them up. They are well fed and well cared for. Tom, the owner and proprietor, sets up play groups for the dogs and they are always healthy and happy when we pick them up.

I had a great experience with Ludworth Kennels. I was really in a bind with my cats and Tom the owner was sympathetic and accommodating. I guess it depends what you are looking for from a boarding experience but I couldn’t be happier with the value, their professionalism and willingness to accommodate, based on any individual needs for your pet.

Couldn’t be happier with Ludworth Kennels. We’ve been using Tom & co. for years with our tough older dog Buddy and now our new crazy pup Coco. Both dogs have always went in and came out happy and relaxed. Buddy was a skeptical dog who really didn’t trust many places but he always loved going to Ludworth so that was enough to make me feel comfortable.

We just boarded our 2 dobies for 2 weeks...they go in happy and they come out happy! Weve been using this kennel for a few years and have nothing but good things to say about it! Tom always accommodates my drop off and pick up times, takes good care of our dogs, and is always pleasant!...Thanks to Tom and family, we go away with peace of mind knowing my dogs are in good hands.

GREAT SPOT to leave your dogs while youre away. Tom is an incredible guy all around and my Rottweiler always comes back exhausted and super happy from his own little vacation. All of the dogs get a ton of personal attention from Tom and his family; after my boys first stay, Tom was pointing out personality traits I didnt even realize he had! The last time I dropped him off he happily jumped into Toms arms and followed him back to the kennels. Great local business and I look forward to continued patronage, especially for the value!

I will never leave my cats here again. The space is incredibly small. Barely any room for a cat bed, food and litter. I bought two new plushy beds for them and when I returned to pick them up after my 5 days on vacation, the beds had been removed. My cats were sleeping on hard wood for God knows how many days! One of my cats had audible nightmares for day, shes never been so freaked out! Plus my dogs were left outside all day without any water and they were super dehydrated!! None of the dogs have shelter from the sun, or water and are left out all day. They need to take better care of peoples furbabies. One of my dogs has a puncture in her ear from another dog today and they are lying about how she got it!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHELTER.

I am pleased with my experiences at Ludworth Kennels. My dog arrives excited to see Tom, and seems happy and adjusted at pick up. He has never caught any illness while boarded. Tom keeps his rates reasonable. I would recommend Ludworth Kennels!

My Golden was so happy after boarding with Ludworth for 4 days. She took to the Tom right away and gave a goodbye snuggle before she left. It is clear they love animals and know how to treat them right.

My dog has been boarded at Ludworth Kennels more times than I can count. I have a 12 year old wheaten terrier who we board for two weeks each year, and for random weekends. They always make room for our dog, and make us feel welcome. Tom and his family are wonderful with the dog - appreciating and recognizing his silliness and idiosyncrasies. He has never gotten sick, and is happy when we arrive in the driveway to drop him off.We take Seaver to Ludworth for grooming as well. When I come to pick him up he looks and smells great.Our family and friends have also taken their dogs to Ludworth many many times, and have no complaints. I cant imagine what happened to the angry reviewers dog, but that is not the experience we have had.I highly recommend Ludworth Kennels.

Reasonably priced, my dog was returned to me better behaved than when I had left him, absolutely no complaints. Tom is the man!

Our dogs have been taken care of for over 25 years by Mary and Tom Braig and family.They have ranged from age 1 through 15 years old. Tom and Mary tailor their care to the needs of your dog. You can bring the dogs bed, toys,specific foods etc.There is an outdoor exercise area. Never have our animals experienced any injury or illness.Every time we turn into the driveway the dogs stand alert and get very excited ; happily jump out of the car and are hurry off into the kennel with Tom.We feel very comfortable leaving our dogs at Ludworth.

I would give this place 0 stars if it was possible. My friend brought her cat there while she went on vacation and while the cat was in their care she went missing. Instead of calling the owner right away they waited over 2 days to contact her. My friends and I are doing what we can to help while these irresponsible and neglectful people are hardly making the effort to find the cat, even though it is entirely their fault. They merely set up some raccoon traps and their attitude appears to be less than concerned. This is absolutely shameful. Do not bring your animals there.Update: The cat is still missing and every attempt we make to contact the owners about the progress of the situation they are extremely rude. They even had the nerve to say that their son is a police officer as if to deter us or scare us from trying to inquire about the cat! We have also come to learn through contacting shelters that this is not the first time they have lost an animal.Do not bring your pets there.

Best place for your dog !!!!!!! Great loving enviroment!!!!I cant say enough good things ! They have gone the extra mile for me and my dog more times than I can count. I dont know what we would do without them! We have brought our dog there since she was 4 months old, its been a great way for her to socialize and burn off steam.

I board my dogs here everytime I go visit family in New York. They are the most friendliest and caring. When I take my dogs out of the car they are so happy to see these people I would recommend this place to everyone

Best kennel in westchester by far. Run by one of the coolest families youll ever come across. Real animal lovers who treat your animals with tlc.

They were great the first few times we brought our dog there .. then something changed I don’t know if they stopped caring or got lazy?? But used to be a wonderful place to bring your dog

Very rude we just drove into their business and attempted to just ask a question and they just stared at us and said were closed very nasty. I would never take my dog to an establishment like this, with such rude people.

These are definitely dog people. My Jack Russell always has a good time here
