Owners Lauren and Jimmy create a warm, safe, and super fun environment for our fur babies! Their amazing staff are always super attentive, kind, and loving to the pups (and to us humans)! Hands down, bringing our once anxious rescue puppy, Ruby to Hounds Town Island Park was the best decision we made since adopting her 2.5 years ago! Thanks to all of the excellent care!!!!!!

Brought my pup Sophie for her first day. was impressed by how clean the facility was. The staff all seemed to really love working with dogs. Excited to bring Soph back!

Best dog daycare on Long Island! Huge yard and big spacious playrooms giving the dogs tons of space to let them be dogs! My dogs love it, I bring them all the time

If you care about your dog at all, do not trust their place and their employees’ incompetence. We took our dog here for only the second time for day care and they gave her to the wrong family - which they didn’t even realize until my husband came to pick up our dog 90 min later. They also kept my husband in the dark for 30 min and told him nothing. Apparently they take the dogs’ collars off for “safety” to play so your dog is there with no identification, and this is nowhere in their disclosures. Also, they clearly don’t ask for ID to give your dog back bc they allegedly sent her home with a random dog walker who didn’t know what dog they were picking up. Owner was more concerned with her reputation than that my dog was sent to the wrong house and was missing from their control for over 2.5 hours. I will be pursuing the matter with corporate.UPDATE: The owner of Houndstown Island Park continues to gaslight us in their response below instead of apologizing, again. Also, their response is untruthful as my dog was unaccounted for over 2 hours until we tried to pick her up and she wasnt there. Then staff had to check cameras to find her.

TERRIBLE experience!! This place is just a MEATPACKING. Left my dog for 6 days. everything is a mystery in this place they don’t show you the installation at all. I trusted them and left my dog there. For 4 days I was calling to check on my dog and they refused to give me any detail of how he was doing or even send a single phone. For a sec I thought my dog was dead. The staff was rude the whole time for no reason like they were picking on me. never again!

Hounds town is great. My dog , Arthur , always has a great time and is well taken care of. We send Arthur to hounds town for just a day of fun and for boarding when away on vacations. I trust them and always know my dog is in good hands.

I’ve been sending my dog here for the past four years. Each overnight stay and each daytime stay have been great. The crew at Island Park are great and always so accommodating. They have helped me out in emergency situations. I’ve already scheduled a weeklong stay for my pup when we go on vacation. I would recommend Houndstown Island Park to everyone with a cherished pup!

We leave our lovable dog, Mate, at Hounds Town IP every time we are out of town. They always take very good care of him and he is always in good hands when he is with the Island Park crew! Pictures are posted almost every time that we leave on vacation and it’s wonderful to get photo updates every time we are away from him! Highly recommend them!!!

A wonderful place for your dog. Daycare... Overnight... Vacation... They are great for all. They match up your dog with others for playgroups & not just by size but by personality... My girl is more on the bigger side but prefers groups with smaller dogs. The people of Hounds Town recognized this without me telling them. You see the dogs coming in for the day happy to be there & leaving with smiles on their faces. This is the kind of place where you can relax knowing your precious pup is being well taken care of...

We started bringing our puppy here when we first got her. She loved it& it was great for socialization. Unfortunately a few weeks ago we picked her up and we noticed she had blood on her. After giving her a bath we noticed multiple bite wounds, we brought her to the vet that night where she needed emergency surgery and drains put in her. Obviously this was very heart breaking and disappointing. Hounds Town did not alert us that she was bit or even bleeding when we picked her up. It is saddening to know that she was bit multiple times (she must have screeched or cried) and no one noticed this. All of the girls that work there are extremely nice and my dog really enjoyed going there. I just think more staff is needed to really watch the dogs so that this can be prevented in the future.

Bella loves coming to Hounds Town! As soon as we turn the corner she starts making all these noises because she is so excited!! And as soon as she gets in she runs over to whoever is behind the desk! They all know her right away, even if she hadnt been there in months. Thank you for loving my Bella the way I would while Im away! I am grateful for you all! Pic is Bella as soon as she got home. Ive debated for a long time if I should write a review or not but Ive decided to, because this has stuck with me for so long so maybe its worth sharing my experience. I brought my dog (now 2) who I adopted- he’s a Jack Russell/ Aussie mix in there when he was a puppy and up until he was about a year old. he is the sweetest dog ever. Anyone who meets him falls in love with him. He loves people and dogs and gives so many kisses to everyone. Hes definitely super high energy and did jump on people when he was a puppy. And during the time I brought him here he was also in weekly puppy training to work on his manners and reduce his jumping- I also told them this they knew he was in training and how much I care about his behavior being the best. I brought him to this daycare at least 5 times, and each time I got high praise from the girls that worked there. Until the last time I took him Ill never ever forget that day I went to pick him up. I walked to the door and the employee at the door said unfortunately ur dog will no longer be with us.. because my dog wasn’t there when the employee came out my heart sank because I thought something happened to him. But no he said he will be banned from this daycare. I asked him what happened and he said this isn’t the right environment as he jumps on staff and the safety of his staff comes first. I asked if something specific happened like if he bit anyone and he said no he’s a sweet guy . Now this whole thing was a horrible experience in my mind. That I will never ever forget. Because I would always ask how he’s doing and the girls would always say good. Not to mention if the employee had just said simply listen we don’t think this environment is good for him, I would never bring him back. I am a reasonable person and want what’s best for my dog. But I found the way this happened super unprofessional. To add to this he was a PUPPY and puppy’s jump and have ENERGY. This is 100% normal of puppies !!!! Why would u take a dog that’s low energy to a daycare ? In addition it smells disgusting in there. Hold your breath if you’re walking in. It’s bad, I doubt they clean up at all. Anyway these are my thoughts on this place. I always share my thoughts whenever anyone asks. I wouldn’t recommend them, but if you use them hope your experience will be better than mine!

There was long vetting system to see if my dog would work out there, but it all worked well for us. Even got a bath before I picked him up.

Been bringing my dog here for almost 2 years and I could not say better things about this establishment! I have an active dog so he generally goes around 5-6 days a week (sometimes 7) and it’s always extremely clean, the staff goes above and beyond for not only the dogs but also us humans and it’s so convenient and well organized. Both owners are extremely caring and helpful! Always have such a great experience with them and can not recommend them more !!

My golden retriever Frankie loves this place!! When I pick him up he doesn’t want to leave. The owner Lauren is super friendly and always treats my dog like her own. The staff always takes such good care of my Frankie. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to take such good care of my baby.

Work being done in house, the puppies needed a break! They played for about 6 hours and came home pooped! They had so much fun with the other puppies!!

I can go on and on about how great Hounds Town is. I had looked into several day care services for my pup Rowdy when he needed to be boarded for a night and I had decided on Hounds Town and I havent ever looked back since! They are very kind and also very professional when handling the dogs. I also love that they post pictures of all the pups throughout the day, which is always great to see! My pup had always been nervous going inside buildings and stores and now he pulls me to the door and ready to go play instead of wanting to stay with me, which makes me so happy to see since he does have some separation anxiety. Hounds Town is very reasonably priced and my boy comes home happy, content, and ready for a nice long nap. They are always very accommodating. Theyre not the closest day care, but they are fantastic so I do not mind the 25-30 minute drive! Im always happy after seeing how happy he is and I always feel good knowing that my pup has a great day of activity ahead of him. Once my classes start back up again this fall, I definitely will be leaving Rowdy here with confidence that he will be in the best care!

They take great care of my dog. My puppy (Sheldon ,9months). Gets so excited every time I drop him off. I feel very comfortable using them. Great drop off and pick up hours. Thanks.

We are so happy to have found Hounds Town! Our dog is very high energy and no amount of walking seems to be enough for him. Being able to run it off there with his furry friends is just wonderful and he comes home a very tired pup. The staff are amazing and know each dog by name and greet them as you bring your pup in each day. They really get to know the personalities of each dog and group them accordingly. We know Chase is in great hands when we bring him there and have peace of mind all day long. We have also used their overnight boarding and bathing services and are very pleased. As you can see, hes one tired pup after daycare!

This was the very first time my wife and i left my dog who is a 17 pound pomeranian at a boarding place, and while she had a bit of a hard time being around other dogs I felt confident that the staff and Lauren the owner would know exactly how to handle this type of issue with our dog and help her calm down by separating her from other dogs. Thanks to the staff for doing that. I would highly recommend Hounds Town Island Park

We know when our dog didnt have a good experience because she will pull away from entering the door and shys away from people. Not here!Our Kaylee girl happily walks in and is welcomed warmly while she waits to be petted and loved. Got me a little jealous tbh lol. She loves daycare and comes home exhausted from play. We have also used their overnight boarding which was really hard for us at first. She usually stays with family when necessary but one time that wasnt an option and we found Hounds Town IP! We felt at ease knowing she was well taken care of and we are comforted knowing that we have a safe place for her to stay when we are away.

We absolutely LOVE Hounds Town in Island Park! The staff is compassionate, professional, knowledgeable and give our dogs so much love and attention. When our pups know they are going to Hounds Town, they get so excited.

Frankie loves going to Hound’s Town!!! While I am at work! The staff is Amazing!! They treat him and all dogs like they’re own!! It is the best place in the world especially for a dog that has bad separation anxiety! He is no longer disruptive at home! He’s too tired after playing with all his friends!! Hounds Town Island Park has definitely changed both our lives for the better!! Highly recommended for all dogs!!

I bring my Bernedoodle to Hounds Town for both daycare and grooming. They are attentive to the dogs and take the time to put the right sized dogs together. They also take the time to get to know your dogs personality to ensure there is a good temperament so as not to disrupt the pack.I also highly recommend their grooming service. Taylor is fantastic and a large Bernedoodle is not easy to groom.If you’re looking for the right place for your daily dog needs, Hounds Town in IP is the place.

Love everything about Houndstown! Its great knowing the staff cares about my dog just as much as I do, and she always comes home EXHAUSTED. You could tell the staff all genuinely love dogs, and are great at handling them. If you have a pup that could use some extra socialization, exercise, or fun, this is the place to take them!

Great place to bring your furbabies. Friendly staff their hours of dropping and picking up are very convenient. If you are looking for a place to socialize and have them active, this is your place for sure. At the end of the day, they come home tired and done for the day. Im so happy I found them. I love this hounds town. Ive been to a few and they all have nice staff but at Island Park theyve really gotten to know my dog. They have packages which is nice because sometimes we only go one day a week and sometimes we go 4-5. They also have an Instagram so I can see pictures of my dogs and the others playing. The fact that they have turf is a plus too because they dont get as dirty, especially when it rains.

We love Houndstown Island Park. Whenever I look at Luke and Padme (my 2 goldendoodles) and say do you want to go to Houndstown. They run to the front door and sit there waiting for me to take them and once we get there- they charge the door to get in. Its so cute and great knowing how much they love it there. Not only do they get to play in a safe environment with other dogs, but when they stay overnight, they are well taken care of. And of course- nothing better than the exit bath so they come home smelling great! The comfort of know your pups are in good hands make it easy when you need to be apart from them.

Our yellow lab loves going to Hound Town. The staff is amazing with him. The minute I mention the name Hound Town, he is out of control ready to jump in my car! Comes home exhausted and super happy! We are so grateful for all the staff members for taking great care of our best friend❤️

My dogs are always treated like family here and although only one takes advantage of the daycare, Maui, when we do have to board them or the occasional day our older one, Jersey, goes they both come home happier then we left them. ( oh and exhausted which is definitely an added benefit). They go above and beyond with boarding I know because Jersey can be a pain with eating his dinner when we go away but they always make sure he does. Truly not a bad thing to say or even a con to this place. Love everything about Hounds Town especially the well trained and attentive and friendly staff !!!

My pup Bear loves Houndstown Island Park, he practically runs and breaks down the door like he’s coming for the Super Bowl trophy when we arrive. He is so happy after a day spent here and I highly recommend them if you’re considering daycare.The team is extremely professional including Jimmy, Courtney, Jojo and Taylor whom I’ve met thus far. You can tell when people truly care about their positions and these guys and gals are top notch! Attentive and truly caring, Bear now has an extended family when he arrives.Thanks to everyone there!

I like that they interviewed my dog and gave us a free trial. It was disappointing to find out that they had package options that we weren’t told about. We also weren’t told that there was a Facebook page that showed pictures of dogs during their stay. There were no pictures of our dog shown at all. We dropped off and picked up our boy without knowing how he did. He also lost his voice from the day we picked him up which meant he was barking a lot. Was he barking for attention or communicating with other dogs? Unfortunately, will never know.

My little guy (Bichon-Poo) has been going to Hounds town and I couldn’t be more happy with them. I was nervous at first because Finley is small and I didn’t know how he would do with the bigger dogs. He wags his tail and runs into the building. When I pick him up he exhausted from all the fun he has had. I have used there boarding ( 2 nights) and had no complaints. I also use Taylor for grooming and if you don’t know Bichon poo’s have a lot of hair. She did such a great job and I won’t use anyone else for now on. They also offer exit baths. Just give them a time for pick up and your pup will be nice and clean! Thank you hounds town of island park for providing a secure, safe and happy place for my little Finley and all of his friends. It’s been such a relief to know he’s in good hands!!!! 🐶🐶🐶🐾🐾🐾🐾

Not the best for small dogs. No separate area. When my 2 went for the day I was not told they would not be given food which I brought. When I left they never gave me the food. Staff said they had no idea they did not get any. Staff needs more training and customer service skills. My dogs were safe but i need more.

My collie mix loves this place. The decor is great & is actually made to look like a little town. Its bright & very clean. The best, though, is the very friendly staff who always appears so happy to work with all the dogs.

We love this place and so does our Eli. He knows when hes going there. He cant wait to get in and play with his friends. And when he comes home, he just passes out on the couch or his bed. We never have to worry about his safety, we know hes safe there. We have also had him spend a few nights there and he has been well taking care of. Love this place.

New puppy, just five months old. Staff is friendly and easy to work with. We boarded our pup for three days. Unfortunately, she returned coughing and sneezing. We now have to take her to the vet $$$$. Very unfortunate, but I guess these things happen. Even with this unfortunate event, I would still return for their hair cuts, and doggy day care.

Awesome! Boarded my dogs for almost a week. When we went to pick them up, the dogs ran to say goodbye because they had such a good time.

Our lab loves to go. Large place for our dog to get exercise & socialize while we are at work. Owners & people who work there are super accommodating and always friendly. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience with Hound Town Island Park. It was my first time trying this place. A couple of hours of my dog been under their care they called me to tell me that my dog got a cut and they did not know how it happened. When I got there my dog was missing about 3 inches of skin, took her immediately to the vet. where she had to be sedated and got internal and external stitches. HoundTown still claims not knowing how my dog got injured and since they make you sing a waver they are not responsible for the vet bill.

I cannot say enough about HoundsTown Island Park. I know when I drop off my Nella she is in good hands. She is safe, happy and loved. They know every dogs name and personality and who their“ friends” are. We are always greeted with a smile and enthusiasm that it’s going to be a great day, Oh and did I mention clean. The place is immaculate. The Instagram pictures are adorable and the captions are hysterical. The best is how happy Nella is when I drop her off and how content she is when I bring her home. LOVE LOVE LOVE everyone at HTIP.

My puppy Charlie absolutely loves hound town. Very clean place and very nice caring staff. I highly recommend Hounds Town. I was a nervous wreck my first day dropping Charlie off and the staff made if very smooth.

Hounds Town Island Park has been a second home for my dog. When I drop the dog off for daycare or for boarding if I’m going away, I am always confident that I’m leaving my pup in the best care with the staff at this location.

Owners of this franchise are sweet and love what they are doing. My dog is always pooped (tired) and happy when she comes home from Houndstown. Super convenient location for Oceanside/Island Park/Long Beach area.

Extremely caring and gentle staff. Our dog Sofia is always so excited to see the staff when we arrive, and vice versa. She always comes home and relaxes for a few days. A sure sign that she has a good play day.

Most times this place is so great! One time it was not and my mom left a constructive review so they can be even better. Today, the owner called to cancel our reservation that’s next month — that we made two months ago — in retaliation of her negative review. Totally unacceptable behavior. Won’t be returning!

So my not even two year old boxer had one bad day and I was told that she couldn’t return. Was told that she didn’t bite or harm anyone or any dog. She just didn’t listen and was a little difficult to deal with. Sorry that my boxer decide to be a dog once in a while.

Great doggie day care . Very knowledgeable and experienced with dogs. I found Jimmy to be a really nice caring guy ! So far its a blessing to have a place to drop the pups and have a piece of mind

My dog has come home hurt on numerous occasions. They’re clearly not watching the dogs when they are there for daycare. We will not be returning.

Our dog was I jured under their watch--our pet weighs 8 lbs + was thrown into a play area with larger more aggressive dogs, ___ I do not recommend this business

Don’t ever go there ! The most nastiest people in LI . I booked them 2 months in advance offered to pay money in advance, where I was told it ok bring everything when you come .But the story gets better: when I finally called to tell them, I am bringing the dogs and this is right before I have to flyaway next day for my vacation.This is shocking I am told I don’t have anything booked and they have no room for me and my dogs. Wow really?The excuse was they sent me an email that I never received it was in spam . Was very difficult for them to call me ? and ask for the vaccination for my dog ?But before to mention I was told that I could bring the vaccination when I bring my dogs.Anyway they most of gave my spot to a VIP client and didn’t care to screw me up.Prejudiced, disgusting, rude, obnoxious.I am glad it happened I found a loving place for my baby’s. If anyone need I could recommend.Don’t trust them with your baby’s NO NO NO.Good to see the true colors right away thanks for showing it . I just wish they would’ve just told me earlier. What ever happens happens for the best .

We brought Heidi there twice already. Very professional and caring staff.Heidi is now socializing with other dogs.Very happy we found this place.Definately will continue to bring her.

The love and care the staff have for my dog Jack and all the other dogs is exemplary! Jack always loves going to doggy daycare! He has met many friends and comes home nice and tired each day! Hounds town has an outdoor area that the dogs can run around in! Highly recommend!

Our beagle Ryder loves it here ! She is a frequent daycare visitor and when we go on vacation, boarder . She is very well taken care of and she is always constantly given such great care and attention. They are so friendly! Really love this place. As soon as my dog gets out of the car he runnnnssss in! The place is clean and well kept and there’s an outside place for the dogs to run around. Just wish they allowed webcam to see my dog when he’s there.

My Old English Sheepdog Fionn absolutely loves Hounds Town. The staff is very friendly. You can tell they are dog people too! Whether youre speaking to one of the owners Lauren or Jim or one of their staff members they take the time to listen if you have any questions and concerns and try to help you the best way they can. Fionn comes home completely exhausted. He loves the outdoor area
