My dogs are so healthy and well taken care of every time there’s an issue! They follow up with questions about how they’re doing after the fact. Everyone from the Front Desk to the women in the back the text the VETS themselves invest their whole figuring out what’s wrong with some of my dogs or all of them at any given time Just love this place!

All of the staff are super knowledgeable and helpful. They truly care about helping your pets get better. I have been bringing my pets her for a few years now and Ive never had a bad experience. They even check prices with Chewy to make sure Im getting the best deal for the medications for my dog.

They are such a caring and compassionate staff. They help explain everything with visuals of the blood work and will help you process any questions or concerns. Thank you so much to you guys. They also have lovely house cats that I got to play with.

I have been taking my senior dog to Jamestown Vet for about 6 months. They are helpful, caring and accommodating. It is a lovely feeling to find someone who cares about your fur baby as much as you do.

We have found Dr. Scott to be an experienced vet who really understands dogs and cats. The staff is efficient and friendly. It’s a clean place and we rarely wait long.

Got my Kitten in when nobody else could when he hurt his leg and took great care of him. They Didn’t push anything unnecessary, and he’s doing much better. They did a great job

The vet was great & really cares!! I had pet rats and one of my rats was very sick (he was my baby) no local vets around here specialized in rats so I drove an HR away to Jamestown vet clinic, the vet specialized in rats and took very good care of my sneakers he got the meds he needed & I found out things I didnt even know about rats, unfortunately my baby couldnt take it, he fought a good fight for a wk and passed away.. 😢 2 days later I lost my other baby mittens (heartbreak,) I think

Ive taken all my pets to Jamestown Vets for the past 26 years or so, and every doctor weve seen there has been caring and helpful. Ive never had a problem scheduling an appointment, and theyve kindly returned my distress calls at any hour when I was worried and had an urgent question. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Our first visit with our cats was fantastic, one of our cats can be a pain with strangers and they were very understanding of her. So happy we chose them to be our new vets!

I got in very close to my appointment time. Everyone there seemed vary caring. The Dr. explained everything carefully. The staff made sure I understood the care instructions and to call them if there were any problems. I have no complaints.

Everyone was very nice and helpful, would highly recommend them.

We called our cats regular vet close to home with an emergency our cat was breathing heavily and seemed like he was struggling to get enough air in and they could not get us in the same day. After calling many veterinary hospitals and being turned down or having to wait weeks for an appointment, I finally called Jamestown Veterinary Hospital. They got us in that day. They took such good care of our boy, unfortunately our boy was very sick and the best decision was for him to be put down, our concern was that our children were not going to be able to say goodbye, the dr was so caring and compassionate, she made our Lenny boy comfortable to take home for one more night so we could all say goodbye to him properly. I am so greatful that we were able to do that, as well as have him cremated and have remembrance paw prints made. When we took him to be put down they had a private room available with a couch and nice comfortable blankets to wrap our boy in. They let us say goodbye and hold him and cry as much as we needed , all of the staff was so kind and compassionate ,we truly felt as though they cared about our Lenny and us. We have since changed our vet to them exclusively for our pets now. I recommend them to anyone with pets.

Our lovely 14 year old husky-shepherd mix Lux had an appointment with Julie & DVM Hoyt this week. Though JVH is in the middle of a remodel they took very good care of us. The staff was friendly and Julie’s notes were extremely helpful!

I would highly recommend Jamestown Veterinary Hospital to anyone who has animals. They are the most genuine and caring people. My dog actually gets excited to go there. Highly recommend Dr. Scott too.

Very knowledgeable and compassionate staff. Cory the intake assistant is very genuinely friendly and helpful. Dr. Scott is professional and personable with an ability to get quickly to the point offering options and solutions available in most matters we have had with our puppies and kitties, which I personally appreciate very much. Our previous vet was Dr. Brown at Moonbrook. She left the practice to spend more time with her family by taking a teaching position, which certainly gives Hope there will be some Very Competent and Compassionate graduates coming out to veterinary clinics or hospitals in the future.Dr. Scott is a personal friend and colleague of Dr. Browns who is cut in a similar fashion so we feel very fortunate to have had Dr. Brown help us with finding an ideal person to send us to for competent and compassionate care for our furry family.

Dr. Hoyt and his staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and caring. I was lost as my boy had something wrong and Dr. Hoyt figured out my dog was bitten by a tick and has Lyme disease. He spent a lot of time and went through all of the blood work results with me, one on one. Had I known that Dr. Hoyt was like this, I would have been going here a long time ago! Excellent service and a veterinarian that is knowledgeable and cares about his patients, as well as the owners.

I never have to worry about the care, but they are more expensive and super busy so they seem to book apts a ways out. I went this month with both cats and it was their first day with the lobby open to customers (with restrictions) so they were adjusting to it. I hadnt planned on having to complete a lot of paperwork for both cats at drop off and how busy theyd be even super early, so I was late to work. Plan extra time! Theyve been good with our dogs and cats over the years, even with the new vets, and the location is convenient for me.

As a fellow veterinary technician, I know yall dont get enough praise especially right now. I am a vet tech way down here near Dallas,Tx and my sister is all the way up there in Jamestown. My sweet sister has severe dyslexia and grew up in a time where there wasnt help like there is now. So needless to say she has a very very hard time reading and understanding sometimes, especially medical terminology etc. Normally I get calls while shes at the vet to help her understand or have to go back over and read everything to her for her pets care. Although I still had to go back over meds with her a little bit, today was the first day that she already understood most of it. For that I am so very grateful. Job well done to all the staff. Lucy will definitely be back.Also stay strong I know curbside has been insane. I hope you guys have a great weekend.

Thanks you to all the staff for the loving support you gave to me, my daughter and my son in law. Thank you for waiting the 1.5 hours for me to arrive to say goodbye to out best friend. You were all very kind and loving. Thank you for the keepsake of our babies paws. He was a beloved baby. And this was so heartbreaking for us.

As a rescuer, I took in a neglected mouse about a yr ago because to me. A life is a life. He had a wonderful year of good food and cleanliness until he began to suffer sickness that could no longer be treated.I called several Vets in the area for help with euthanizing and was treated less than stellar by them one was almost derisive as if it were unheard of and ridiculous.Jamestown Vet not only understood, but was able to get me in that day at a very small fee as opposed to others asking for over $100.They were kind and did not treat it as tho it was an oddity to love each animal you come across. I thank them very much.

Excellent vet. I always have had a nice experience dealing with the staff, and both Dr.s Shrope and Smith. They have a genuine care for you and your animal and treat them as you would want them to be treated. Like theyre a part of your family. Clean facility, moderate prices.

We have been to Jamestown Veterinary for several different reasons for several different animals and have always been treated with compassion and care. Dr. Schrope was fabulous the night our puppy was hit by a car (that didnt stop) and was almost as upset as we were. Cant recommend this place enough!

My large umbrella cockatoo was displaying very odd behavior and decided to go to this location for the first time in a pinch. It was during covid restrictions but still. Wasnt able to go in building with my pet. She was only in there about 5 minutes and Im not even sure that she was examined. I sent in a list of things to address and nothing was. They Charged me $100 for the 5 minutes and said she was in perfect health. Later took her to an alternative aviarian vet and found out she has multiple deficiencies and parasite infections. I tried to mention this when the vet called. He said she was 100% fine healthy and happy but being the Pets owner I recognize and understand her behaviors and they were not normal. This place may be good for other animals but I would not recommend taking a large bird there. It would seem they do not have the knowledge needed. I would not recommend this place to a specialty bird large parrot type. Anything else I cannot vouch for. I mean no disrespect to the practice.

Fantastic! My Border Collie got too curious with a porcupine on Friday night. We were on vacation in the area. They were kind enough to make room for Jake first thing Saturday morning. Staff and doctors were super friendly and Jake was quill free in an hour. Can’t express how thankful we are.

I can not express how our family was respectfully treated recently as we had to put our little man down after a wonderful 9 years. From the time I called as we were an emergency first seen patients to the hours we were there I can not THANK them ALL enough. God Bless each and everyone of you from the bottom of our hearts.

Staff was very friendly. Doctor sat down and explained to us what was done. Listened to all our questions and concerns. Only down side was the construction going on there.

I want to thank Dr. Greg Hoyt and crew for all you did for my bestest friend Carl J . Pace .( Unfortunately you cant save your pets from time ) . But JVH has allways did there best and then some . Thanks Dr . Hoyt . Fred J Pace .

Its always a pleasant experience. Very prompt. Treat my pup with so much love and tenderness. I dont mind the almost hour drive. Its so worth it!!!

Do NOT go here and especially do NOT see Dr. Schorpe. She is not compassionate and would rather put money from failed treatments in her pocket than let the family make the best decision for their pet. She made my father feel terrible and like he was in the wrong for putting down his little princess who had been dealing with health issues for well over a year and was not getting better, no matter what we tried. Its unfortunate that someone who is supposed to be good with animals can be so cruel to their families who love them and want the best for them.

The veterinarians and staff are excellent here! They saved my dogs life! They have an emergency service(as long as your animal is already a patient there). A little expensive but worth it for the caring of your animals. The only thing to watch out for is add ons, one example trying to give your animals more vaccines than needed. New vaccines are being recommended for your pets that can cause serious side effects!! Before saying yes, do your research!!!

We always feel that our cats get the highest quality care from the staff at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital. All of the girls who work at the reception desk are friendly and helpful. We have brought all of our pets here since the 1970s.

They were supposed to remove my cats bad teeth because he couldn’t eat and THEY BROKE HIS JAW! They didn’t tell us til 2 days later and then they said he may go in to conjestive heart failure and then boom told us today that he did. He probably didn’t die today he probably died during surgery because of Doctor Scott. They’re still making us pay for everything to! I hate them!

I had great experiences at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital until my dog and I ran into the younger male vet for the first time. That vet was rabidly aggressive with his insistence that my dog must be fixed. I never thought Id have to fight my way out of a vets office to keep my dog intact.

So grateful for Jamestown Vet Hosp they were so accommodating, reassuring and kind. While I hope we don’t have to return, I’m glad I have a vet who is knowledgeable nearby 🙏🏻 thank you!

I have a cane corso male. I have this vision of my dog in my head. The young male vet. Was adamantly against me cropping my dogs ears. He told me there is no benefit to cropping. I told him i disagreed and had his ears cropped with laser surgury in pittsburg. He also was adamant that i neuter him at 6 months. I told him. I disagree with neutering until full grown. I said neutering eliminates growth hormones and could affect a large breed dogs bone growth. . Ive had nothing but the ABSOLUTE BEST CARE for my dog since 8 weeks old. I listen to what the vets say , then make my own decision. All of the vets , as well as the staff have treated my dog with care and compassion. The waitng room is large with very little wait time. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND the jamestown veterinary hospital . I can bring him in any time without appointment to weigh him and say hi. In one week my dog Pooh will be 6 months old and he weighs 80 pounds already. Thank you Jamestown veterinary hospital

Girlfriend took the guinea pig in because he was coughing and had something going on with his ears. Receptionist told her over the phone, the exam was going to be $55...ouch, but ok. As soon as she walked in, she said she didnt feel comfortable, the staff wasnt especially friendly. They clipped his nails, Thank you. While checking his heart, lungs, and gut sounds, the vet told her whatever she was doing was causing the guinea pig to be more irritated...as if the stethoscope pushing on his ribs and gut wasnt causing any irritation?! Seriously?! Go to pay the bill and its $161!!! Exam turned out to be $65 plus meds and other tests. I think well find another vet, thanks.

Juno was moving from west coast to east coast and needed her shots updated to get into new home.

Im in town from ga & it was 9pm well my mamas dog got hit by a car well i called them up because he was still alive. they asked me if i was a client & i said no but i can be they said that id have to go all the way to erie i told them i had cash & they said id have to be a client i asked her why they was a vets office because theres no way in h$ll that they cud care about an animal being they was refusing to look the dog even tho i had $ they r in the wrong profession!!!! how crappy of them

Old vet was awesome. New tried to force my daughter to fix her dog. The dog had seizures. It could kill him. It almost out her her into a stress seizure.

So we have had all positive experiences at this particular vetrinarian , after a few near pet life end experiences at a falconer vet. We have 3 cats and a dog all of which have been. To the the Jamestown vetrinarian for something. My top three pluses are early mornong hours of operation,an on call vetrinarian, and complimentary coffe.

They were so kind they help me out I would highly recommend them Im so happy with what they had to do with my cat great job Jamestown Veterinary

Do not go to this place. Dr. Schrope does not seem to have the skills needed to work with the public. Its unfortunate that the previous vet retired and handed this wonderful place over to someone who has zero people skills.

I called them for an emergency and they wont help me because I need to be thier client what kind of animal care givers are you refusing service to emergency cases! Went to Inkley instead. Yall should go to him instead of this facility.

Called trying to make an appointment for my sick pet because I could not get a hold of his normal vet, was blown off because Im not already a client. You think a vet hospital would have some compassion and judging by some previous reviews Im not the only one they have done this to. Also tried to make an appointment for my boyfriends cat who IS a client for an issue he is having and was told they could not help him. This veterinary hospital is useless. Would not recommend.

They helped my cat on a SATURDAY NIGHT!!!!! i called the regular vet and a machine sent me to Erie.... Here they realized that my cat had an emergency and the vet helped her. They gave me the help when i needed.

Friendly staff and I never feel rushed. They take good care of my dogs I have been using them for over 30 years and everyone has always been friendly and professional and caring.

Dr Hoyt was very helpful and reassuring when I had to have my rat euthanized. But vet techs lacked bedside manner and gave inaccurate information. I was crying and talking about what I did with my pet for their last day and was cut off mid sentence because my card declined. I was also told my pet would receive an injection in the stomach which was not true. I hope to continue to keep Dr Hoyt as my pets veterinarian but if this becomes a pattern Ill just have to find an exotic vet somewhere in Buffalo instead.

I dont know. After being switched to several automated phone messages I finally gave up. I wouldnt select any stars but it wont post without it.

This is the second time calling there for first guinea pig that had stones and would of died got taken care by someone else. Now today I call with a chinchilla that doesnt seem well. Refer you you to East Amherst animal hospital with no exotic doctor in till Monday there. Guess our animals need to pick Mondays Tuesdays or Wednesday to get sick. Never calling there again. Guess gave to find another vet to see my pets. Didnt have a problem getting into a local vet that sees exotics. Dont know if they are trying to cut down on patients or what the excuse is now.I would like to add that we called again after this and was told the same thing. Well since this the guinea pig has passed away. Thank God we found someone else to see our exotics. No more Jamestown veterinary hospital. It wasnt like we were new to there practice been there before guess that doesnt matter.
