Lake George Dog Beach

It is amazing to see a Lake dedicated for Dogs. See pics and videos for more details. I have see people swimming with their dogs 🐕. Its a shallow water beach ⛱️ few benches are present nearby to sit and watch the nature. Walk trail along the lake and road is also present. Map board 🗺️ is displayed nearby to show all near by attractions. Thanks 🙏👍

These old railroad tracks are located not too far off the shoreline from the dog beach. Very visible. The beach is small. Views are spectacular of Lake George, the mountains and the Steamboat Company’s 3 boats.

Absolutely love this place, its Absolutely amazing, you will not regret coming here the people are so friendly and its dog friendly, family environment, I cant say enough, its the 8th wonder of the world ro me I have so many pictures and theres so much to do and the restaurants are Absolutely beautiful, such a great environment, I am so happy that I go there every year, my dogs Absolutely love it the water is clean and its so safe, like I said I cant say enough, you wont regret it I personally guarantee it ❤️ 😀

We were so glad to have found this beach which is dog friendly for our Bernie! He is such a water baby and loved it! Only four stars because it’s true that the beach is very close to the main road as some of the other reviewers noted. Gotta closely watch the dogs when they are off leash. Went to this beach for the first time, and it was not at all what I expected or was told. It was completely packed with people, most of whom did not have dogs. It was too busy to really enjoy having our dogs there, and there was definitely no way to have the dogs off leash with so many people. Also, one website I read said there were waste disposal stations, but I didnt see any, not even any trash cans conveniently placed.

People need to do better picking up dog crap, lady had aggressive pitbull, would grawl at everything walking by, and run after people, dog was on leash but little lady could barely hold the dog, and accident waiting to happen. I put my towel next to her and dog growled and ran after me... Clearly this dog should not be out in public.

Dogs are welcome but there are no signs that designate it a dog beach. Its also very close to a busy road. I wish the village would go all in and put up a simple fence/gate, an official sign and maybe some dog waste receptacles.

Great spot for the pups to cool off and whatba view! the steam boat in the background is just bonus! let your pups enjoy the Adk too! we chose a night walk!

Good little sandy beach on the southern end of Lake George. Went on a summer Saturday afternoon and it wasnt terribly crowded, less than Iexpected for a beach.I was excited to take my dog since its one of the rare dog-friendly beaches around. But, it was disappointing when we got there and it was right next to the road and close enough to the steamboats to hear their music/bass thumping, resulting in a lot of noise which scared my poor pup too much for him to really enjoy the water. Oh well, well keep looking until we find a better, truly dog-friendly beach.Also, the beach itself is only a few feet wide- maybe an average of 10 feet of sand from the grass at the edge of the road to the lake. Seems like other dogs there didnt mind the road/people noise as much, so if your dog doesnt mind loud noises, it would be a fine dog beach! The view across the lake was beautiful, as well.

Nice dog beach near the ferry dock. My son and black lab swam for hours.

The dog beach was kind of a dud. The beach itself was nice but the water and the shoreline had a ton of debris, including dead fish 😵

Great place for your fur babies to have fun on a hot day! Our girl had a lot of fun while there on vacation.

They should not allow filthy dogs at beach. Especially when people want to get their drinking water there

Nice sandy dog beach in a quaint area (quaintness may be seasonal).

A nice beach, clean sand and calm water. Our only problem was that they have a strict no people in the water rule. If your dog already enjoys the water and likes to swim this place is right for you. If you are still teaching your dog to swim then you’ll find no help here.

Great place to bring a dog or to hang out if you like dogs. Most of the guests were very responsible about the safety of their dogs and considerate about their dogs behavior. The beach is long but not too wide so there is plenty of lakefront to set up camp. Be prepared to walk from your car if the beach is crowded because there is public parking available but the spaces fill up.

Clean, sandy beach. Love that you can just swim out as far as youd like and children can use beach toys.

Great place for my dog to swim! It’s not fenced and it’s right near the road, so be careful if your dog is off leash. My dog loves to swim and play frisbee in the water and she wears her pink life jacket.

Close to the parking area. Not very big so I’m sure it gets crowded fast. Dog loved the water.

The BEST beach to go to over the summer months! I love coming to this beach over the summer with my dogs. Though its busy people are always courteous and make sure that they clean up after their dogs.

Sliver of fresh water doggie paradise

The beach is about 10 feet from the water to the grass. Then about 20 feet past that is a super busy road and there is no type of fencing. So even a dog with decent recall can easily get into the road in a blink of an eye.

As you can see from some of the photos... many families with young children and NO dogs. They got upset when my Labs shook off their extra water on THE DOG BEACH. My younger Labrador gets quite nervous around so many Littles (cause they screech and move around haphazardly).Have been in September and its perfection.

Nice place to take your pup on vacation at Lake George. Fairly clean, small strip of beach for the doggoes. There’s no signage but you’ll notice it’s just before Million dollar Beach. There are signs posted saying no swimming, bacteria level high. Not sure what this is about. Anyone else notice those signs this year?

Great place to let the dogs swim. Place was packed with people and dogs swimming (very hot day). Make sure you bring your own poop bags. Also, use caution as the beach is very close to the road.

The Dog Beach is the least crowded of the four Lake George beaches and the only one to allow our four-legged friends to join us for a swim. Its located between the Lake George Steamboat Company and Million Dollar Beach, just off the main business center. The beach has waste disposal stations for the occasional puppy poop, but no other amenities - no lifeguards, no bathrooms, no food concessions - just sand and water. Like all Lake George beaches, there is no fee to access the beach. Park at the adjacent Million Dollar Beach parking lot ($10/day) or on the street ($2/hour). Bathrooms and food concessions are available at the Million Dollar Beach, just a few steps away, or try one of the many restaurants in the main business district a block away. There is no official season for the Dog Beach, so you can bring your canine companion any time of the year.

Visited this area of Lake George on 4th of July. It was a wonderful little gem. There were plenty of dogs enjoying the water. All the owners were friendly and vigilant of what their four legged creatures were doing. Will definitely visit again.

Great dog friendly beach especially when vacationing with your furry friends

We went in early June. No signs saying it was for dogs. A few dogs eete there but it was mostly full of people without dogs. No trash cans for dog poop. For some reason people took over the dog beach even though Million dollar beach was open for people only.

These geniuses closed half the beachfront, the entirety of the dog beach, to encourage social distancing. How cutting the available beach in half and funneling everyone into a smaller space will reduce transmission is something only a politician could understand. Is there no accountability for these people, Lake George?

If you have a dog this is a dream come true! A beach where dogs rule. Beautiful Lake George, not far from town and super close to the camp ground. Everyone always seems friendly and ready to chat

A great place to go if you have fur babies or love fur babies!

Went to Lake George for the 4th of July weekend, and had a chance to come to Dog Beach to watch some fireworks. Plenty of parking near by and the beach was fairly clean. There are no lifeguards at this beach from what I saw so keep an eye on your children.

My Dog had so much fun here! We swam with him and made some new furry friends! The beach was not crowded which was a bonus!

Planned my entire vacation around this beach and the state closed the dog beach. All other beaches don’t allow dogs and now 300$ is wasted on my vacation. Not happy

Is the dog beach actually open now? We will be there july 22nd 2021 weekend and my dog is an avid swimmer. A few ppl have said its still fenced off

Actual beach for dogs is very small but field across the street is great for a healthy dog run.

We love it! I just wish a bathroom was near by but this is what you get when its free, except for having to pay the parking meter for however long you will be.

Great dog beach, although during the time we were there the main beach was closed so humans took to the dog beach to enjoy the weather. Also it’s kinda close to the road ( with no fencing) but other than that a great place to that your dogs for a relaxing swim.
