On Saturday. We brought our 16 year old cat in for what we thought was a simple treatment visit. It turned out he was in kidney failure and with no notice we had to say goodbye. It was pushing 2pm (when they closed) they graciously stayed open later to accommodate our grieving and to allow a couple family members to arrive to say goodbye. The way they handled everything was exceptional. Hugging us, crying with us. The vet techs are exceptional. I forgot the woman we had. But if you read this. THANK YOU. Thank you for working that Saturday. We love you. We were given some things to always remember our sweet boy. We appreciate that a whole lot. My only complaints are that when we called to get him in, the woman said are you planning to euthanize him? Which was insanely shitty and I didnt like that one bit. Lastly. In the peak of our sorrow and seconds before it was time for him to go, I felt all they cared about was the money. They just wanted to be paid i felt. I feel that is something that should be sorted out after the fact. Or very much prior. Not in the middle. But its still not enough for me to not give less than a 5 star. Their compassion outweighed all of that. We will miss our boy murkle so very much.

I cannot explain in words the compassion, empathy, and love they showed our baby. Almost 17 years with our Bella Boo. We are still understandably having a horrible time. But I would recommend this wonderful hospital to anyone. Thank you. It’s hard for us now, but you were all so kind, caring, loving. I could not thank you in words. Our girl was so loved and from the second we walked through the door, we knew you loved her too. Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts. ❤️

Our cat, Anoush, was not a patient here. Last night, she took a turn for the worse, and we couldnt find anyone to help her cross the rainbow bridge on a Saturday.But we found out about Lewiston Animal Hospital and gave them a call.They got us in quickly this morning. Everyone we met was very friendly, and accommodating for 3 grieving adults and 1 very heartbroken kid to say goodbye. Despite never seeing Anoush before, they helped us to help her pass away peacefully.These people are very sweet, lovely, and compassionate. They gave us 3 boxes, each with her paw prints and a vial of her fur inside.Thank you, Lewiston Animal Hospital, for helping me and my family. It wouldve broken our hearts to see her suffer until Monday, so we are very grateful that you welcomed us with open arms.

Just about the worst veterinary hospital I have ever been to. I would avoid them unless they are the only place open and you have no other choice. They often misdiagnose or will let your dog continue to be sick before they give the correct medication. The last time my dog was sick on a Saturday (and before I knew how terrible they were), they treated my dog and choose not to recommend an antibiotic that caused my dog to be sick for another 5 days until I went to another vet who prescribed the antibiotic and within 12 hours he was better. I dont know if they just dont care or the doctor isnt that smart, but either way, based on my experience and also hearing things like this from several other people in Lewiston, I recommend you dont waste your time, money, or your pets health on Lewiston Animal Hospital!

Three years ago my boy almost died and Lewiston Animal Hospital saved his life. Now they are the only vet office I trust for him. They have amazing workers and veterinarians. My boy was comfortable and well taken care of and they always work with me and my budget.

Very good explanation of Spartacus condition and a very good prescription meds for his condition. Very caring and explained very well to us what was going on with him.

The office was able to see my cat the same day, wait time was short and front desk, vet techs and doctor are extremely friendly and helpful. We are so happy we switched to Lewiston Animal Hospital. Caring about each individual animal.

Extremely high cost for an office visit, 72$ just for an Office visit. Super high price for 4D heartworm test, just for your reference they will only give you a script for certain pet protection without a 4D heartworm test..so if you do want a medicine that requires the test expect a 114$ charge for the test. Expect to heart vet techs in the back room tell you dog stop it in a disheartening tone when you as their owner hear them whimpering and are concerned. Also expect a 5.99 charge they mark as waste disposal ( usually when your dog pottys in the waiting room) for the cost of their syringe and disposal of the syringe. Expect not pleasant front desk staff with poor, snotty attitudes. They also do not fax or email scripts, you will have to mail your script into whomever you go through. Another thing I found distasteful is if you discuss anything with the vet and give no inclination you want the item or service itll be added to your pets chart and at the end of your visit while waiting for your bill-the front desk will ask you if youre getting that item/service from just a conversation with the vet. Always ask for your bill before swiping your card or paying them to ensure youre not being charged for anything outside of what was confirmed. The cost of this vet is insane, definitely not cost friendly by any means. Please keep all of the costs accurate costs of services above in mind before going to this vet, they will break your bank. I researched average cost of the 4D heartworm test and it averages well very well below their $114, not sure how theyre calculating their charges but something isnt right. Good luck affording your pets care if you go here :-)

I have been going here for about 4 years. I did have an experience with an Oriental vet and my cat was screaming and I did leave upset but gave another chance. The new vets are much better and my cats seem to trust them.My car had surgery and I wished there was a way to be more kept up to date.

Attentive to Wolfies (my dog) needs and my concerns. Listened to and addressed issues with Wolfie. Reassured me and provided written materials and referrals.

Doctor Eureka Ma was professional & very thorough, and patient when explaining information. I did not feel rushed at all during an extensive appointment. Front line staff were kind, friendly & helpful

Being new to the area (arrived 7pm the night before I called), I called with a concern for my 15 year old dachshund and you got me right in within an hour. That is amazing and I cannot thank you enough!

What an incredible place. We tried for almost 24 hours to find a vet to get my sons ill dog into and finally we found Lewiston Animal Hospital, an hour drive from our home. Mackenzie was the kindest receptionist ever, finding and making an appointment for us. Alyssa at the front desk was super helpful, Jenna, the amazing tech, reassured us every step of the way and Dr Hopkins was patient and answered every question we had without making us feel rushed. Sam, Zeke and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Staff here is so amazing. Very efficient at getting results back to you and great at coming up with the care plan

This isn’t my normal vet because I don’t live in Lewiston, but they got me in no problem the next morning to see my dog who had an issue. Every other vet I called had 2+week waits. I remember that when I was a kid and did live nearby they could always get our pets in quickly as well. The hours are also great and they’re open late when other vets seem to close by 5. I’ll be back if I ever have an issue with my dogs again and our own vet can’t get us in. Oh and they have a board welcoming new clients which was a very cute touch I’ve never seen at any other vet!It does seem a bit more expensive than other vets, but it was expected since it’s Lewiston. And I know vet care is expensive and vets aren’t rolling in the dough it just costs what it costs to keep a business running.

It was a hectically busy day, but we were taken care of in a surprisingly timely manner. Staff are always pleasant and accommodating. Dr. Hopkins always answers my questions and gives me helpful suggestions. Friendly and helpful.

Great place. staff is friendly and helpful. The vets are knowledgeable and caring. Only giving three stars however due to the RX policy. They do not partner with on line pet pharmacies. They will give you a written script that you need to physically mail into Chewy, Allivet etc. I feel this should be changed. Thank you.

We are new to Lewiston AH and I was able to get a same day appointment - the Dr. was very kind and gave me answers to all my questions and I did not feel rushed at all! Our technician, Zach? And the front desk team were very kind and welcoming to me and to Tucker and Beans!

Great job of always explaining everything and never pushy with things. Dr. Ma is always so reassuring.

Staff provides good care but theyre stuck shaking you down for payment before they do anything and NONE of the damn vet hospitals in our area accept any form of direct pay insurance plans and they wont work out any type of payment arrangement. My pet was stuck waiting over an hour with a major open cut before we found someone to help us work out the bill. They also initially tried to hit us up for $2100 worth of testing and examination but wound up charging us $500+ for simply stapling our pets cut and giving him pain meds. Ive already reached out to the State to get involved and put more regulation on animal hospitals. Kind of hard to claim they about animals when the operate this way. Thank you to the staff who share my outlook and who truly care.

This place was God’s blessing to us. We called and spoke to friendly compassionate staff who helped us make an emergency appointment. When I got there my dogs name was written on the chalkboard saying welcome! ( I can’t explain how impactful that was for us). After a very short wait we were greeted by the tech who helped to calm and assure me, followed by the doctor. They were SO EXTREMELY UNDERSTANDING AND INFORMATIVE. I WAS AN EMOTIONAL WRECK! These ladies took care of our dog and provided assistance in all that we needed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!! Fast friendly affordable knowledge based service!!!!!!

I like the ver that my cats are seeing now. I just wish the staff kept me up to date on my cats surgery progress. I had to call 3 times which was disappointing. The vet called later than was promised but filled me in on all the details and was great.

July 2nd ‘21 was our first ever visit to LAH, they took our Nala in on an emergency basis. Even though the outcome was not what anyone would want they were very kind, compassionate and caring to the situation. Most places most likely would have taken advantage and soaked us but they did not! All the people that work there take a heartfelt and personal approach and it shined throughout our experience. From the bottom of our hearts we thank them and will be bringing our boy Jax to them from now on! Very highly recommended!

Lewiston Small Animal Hospital is a wonderful place. The clerical staff is friendly and accommodating. The clinical staff does an excellent job! Dr Melanie Hopkins is wonderful!

My dog wasnt breathing right, I called several vets in the area, all said she should be seen asap, but they couldnt see her that day. Lewiston Animal Hospital was the only vet that was able and willing to see my dog the same day. Unfortunately, it wasnt good news, but every person we encountered here was nice, compassionate, and understanding. I will recommend this vet to everyone I know with pets, they truly are amazing people and the prices for vet care are reasonable.

Visited Lewiston Animal Hospital with my very sick dog.To make a long story short..Dr. Schnier turned out to be a TERRIBLE vet.Misdiagnosed the issue, started talking about putting the dog down (Thank God we didnt that day), and then proceeded to prescribed medication that was WRONG and wasnt needed.Was supposed to call us in a few days with important test results and we FINALLY heard from her almost a week later.Im asking her on the phone about the incompetence and she hangs up on me.In my opinion shes a rookie vet with a piss poor attitude.Steer clear of her, Lewiston Animal Hospital, Green Acres Animal Hospital, and any other place shes affiliated with !!!She needs to choose another career.We are so glad we didnt put our dog down that day with her suggestions.

This was our regular vet up until this year.. we sadly will never be coming back. We went in because my poor pup wasn’t able to poop correctly and had a lump near his butt. She proceeded to do a rectal exam on a very inflamed dog, he was very uncomfortable. She then looks at me and says it’s an aggressive form of cancer and he doesn’t have long without any testing. Dr Hopkins should be ashamed of herself I immediately left knowing they didn’t have his best interest bc he is 13 years old. Went for a second opinion and not even close to the same diagnosis. Let’s just say he’s happy and healthy again not thanks to these doctors. Very disappointed..

Everyone at the animal hospital is so nice. I have never had any problem getting an appointment for my cats. If its an emergency they will see them right away, for routine care they will schedule them within a day or two. I love how kind and friendly everyone in the office is. I feel like my cats are in very good hands whenever I take them there.

Availability and staff is awesome! My only complaint is the lack of 3 year rabies shots. A trip to the vet is very traumatizing for my cat and its frustrating that I have to bring him in yearly for a rabies shot when a 3 year is available/on the market. However, other then that yall are great and help whenever I need it ❤❤ Caring, compassionate staff. Slightly pricier than others but ability to get you in ASAP (same day within the hour when needed) is worth it.

Very happy after our first visit there. The staff was super friendly and Dr. Hopkins was extremely thorough and compassionate. I feel confident my senior dog is in good hands there. I was listened to and not pushed to do anything I wasnt comfortable with. Def recommend.

Very caring veterinarians and staff. Appointments are available in reasonable time frames. If I have a concern, the staff listens and addresses it. I have been a client for over 20 years with multiple animals.

UNETHICAL PRICES.For those looking for a USDA certified vet, do not go here. I was in need of the proper certification for my 2 cats to travel internationally, and both of them being fully chipped, vaccinated, and just at my regular vet the past month, I was under the impression there wouldnt be to much of a problem getting this taken care of. I even came in 40 minutes early to my appointment to get the paperwork started. I DID NOT LEAVE FOR 4 HOURS. During which, I saw the vet for only 2 minutes as they took other clients and left me with the vet tech. Who, judging by her confusion, never filled out this paperwork before.When all was paperwork was filled out, they told me it was going to be $780 PER CAT. (Not including the exam fees they were charging for both cats as well.)FOR REFERENCE: I called other USDA vets in the Erie/Niagara region and they quoted me that the certification was easily completed in 30 minutes and for a total fee (with checkup and for both cats) of $300. I also confirmed with some coworkers living abroad that they also only paid $300 for the same process for there two dogs just this past summer.Take that as you will, but its clear to me that the vet in charge of this establishment is taking advantage of peoples time and money.(I would also like to mention that they held my one cat, who was not in need of treatment of any kind, in the back until payment was begun as if they were fearful of me leaving without paying.)Finally, I would like to note that the personnel behind the desk and the vet tech were pleasant and apologetic for the delays. This is a fault of the business practice, not those who I was in contact with.

Everyone is so friendly and caring! The care put into each pet is greatly appreciated. When one of my dogs needed immediate care, they were able to get us in right away! They’re compassionate during difficult situations.

Quick check in, tended to Binx quickly. The vet tech and doctor both were awesome and gentle. They explained evening and put us at ease.

I absolutely love this office and all of its doctors. No other place other than my parents long time vet has taken care of my pets and I wouldnt trust anyone else as much as I trust these doctors. I recommend this office to any of our friends with pets if they ask and and are looking for a new vet. The absolute care, concern and professionalism is what I love the most about Lewiston.

We came with an emergency and the speed and quality of care was gold medal. We were kept well informed and given clear explanations of procedures and felt confident with the care given our pet.< br /> Being able to work put the finances to get care for our pet.

I always board my cats Scruffy and JoJo here - they have amazing staff that treats them as one of their own. The also always have great care with check ups, and keeping them up to date with shots and food! Cant recommend them enough.

In it for the money! I had to give one star to leave a review but this place doesnt deserve any stars. My dog had a tooth infection and needed an extraction. Our regular vet was recovering from surgery and not able to work.The price they quoted (and wouldnt reduce) was over DOUBLE what weve paid in the past. After calling numerous vets (and getting recommendations from friends), I found a much more reasonable and very reputable vet. Other vet offices I spoke with were appalled at the price. Its clear they are taking advantage of the situation and charging a ridiculous amount of money because of the infection. If you care about your pets, do not go here. Its all about the money at Lewiston Animal Hospital.

Fabulous, pet-loving staff with incredible, attentive, communicative, thorough veterinarian. This was our first visit here, but it definitely wont be our last. The countertop pet treats were a fabulous touch. Woof! 🐕

Words alone cannot express how wonderful this team of Vets and support staff are! Ive been coming here for 18 years and have never had a problem. Everyone has always been professional, curteous and attentive to my pets needs. Recently, the staff went above and beyond to help me on a Sunday (their day off) when I couldnt find my cats health certificate which I needed for an early morning flight to Seattle on Monday. They actually went into the office to reprint it for me so I could make my flight. Thank you SO MUCH all of you at Lewiston Animal Hospital!

Ive been a client for many years and have interacted with all the current vets (Drs Spence, Hopkins, and Wicks) as well as most if not all of the staff.. I think some of them can recognize my voice when I call by this point. All the staff is very friendly and helpful and they always try to get you in for an appointment quickly, even throughout the pandemic. All the doctors have been very kind, compassionate and patient with my (many) questions and they always go over different options for treatment to make sure youre comfortable with everything. Ive had a huge range of services here over the years (from exams, lab work, surgeries, hospitalization, to euthanasia) and all have been done professionally and Ive felt that my animals were getting the best care. Re: the prices some reviewers have mentioned, take into account that many of the lab tests and imaging are done right at the hospital so results are often available very quickly as opposed to other veterinarians Ive gone to/heard of where you have to wait days for results because they didnt have the equipment on hand. To me this is a huge advantage. Also a big plus is that the records are electronic now, so the affiliated emergency hospitals can access them. I took my cat to Grand Island after-hours recently, and they were able to look up her records from Lewiston to give her the best and most comprehensive treatment. I trust the doctors and staff at Lewiston A.H. and I very much appreciate that theyve taken the time to get to know me and my pets over the years!

I have been bringing my dogs here for years but I am so very disappointed in their RX policy. My little Yorkie needs an RX for motion sick pills witch this office charges double the price charged online at Chewy. I asked them to fax this RX in to Chewy and they said its not their policy and that I have to drive all the way thereto the office to pick it up and then mail it to Chewy. I spoke to Chewy this morning and they said this is unheard of in this digital age. It seems like they are making it at difficult as they can for me to go elsewhere to fill a simple RX which is not even a controlled substance. I will be looking for a different vet for any future needs.

The whole staff was wonderful from beginning to end! The front office staff was fantastic and I was seen in a timely manner. Your technician was wonderful with my pets and providing me with any information I needed. Dr Spence, as always, was wonderful with my babies!

I am absolutely blown away at the great, compassionate service I received at Lewiston Vet. I am currently fostering 6 kittens, one of which suddenly became very ill (first sign of worms). Worrying that he was dying, as he was limp and has rapid breathing - I called many different vets, NONE of which would see us. Finally, I got to Lewiston Vet on my list and I was given an appointment for that evening, for less than an hour after my call. I am not even a client with this vet (this will be changing when my vet retires) and they saw us in the evening at the last minute! They came through for this baby kitten when nobody else would!The office was extremely clean and nice, and the staff was out of this world. We were seen quickly. Everybody was so friendly, and they took the time so thoroughly evaluate the kitten, taking great care to keep him comfortable. They even offered him food, hoping he would eat it. He was in bad shape at the time. The staff was so wonderful to him, everybody. We saw the vet (Doctor Hopkins) and two techs who treated him with such love and care, you can tell that they really love what they do. Doctor Hopkins was amazing. She evaluated the little guy and went back to come up with an evaluation and couple of different treatment plans. She then brought me quotes for these plans, which I thought was nice. Everything that she suggested was completely necessary for his well-being and to get to the bottom of what was wrong with him. It was so much more than worms. Animals can’t tell us what’s wrong… cats especially! The more that we can do to get more information regarding what is going on with him, the better. The prices were reasonable, especially being a last minute visit. We ended up getting blood work done on him, and fluid injection. He really needed it. They were also kind enough to trim his nails and clean him up a bit. It turns out that he is fighting a nasty infection and may have internal damage of some sort. Doctor Hopkins really took the time to explain everything to me in detail, making sure that I understood. She was extremely compassionate and did a wonderful job caring for this baby. She answered any questions that I had as well. Very sad for the kitten yes, but at least we have a better idea of what’s going on. In the end, the next day I brought him back to the shelter that I am fostering him through for further treatment. The only reason I didn’t bring him to the shelter in the first place because it was an emergency, and I feared for his life. Doctor Hopkins did not push anything on me, and she gave me detailed information about each plan, along with her recommendations and the reasons for her recommendations.By the time we left, he was already feeling better. He started to hold his head up and he was alert again. He slept through the night, and he was acting normal again the next day! Sadly, with this kitten, I know that it will be short lived. He usually does not act “normal” for long – he’s got something going on, which will take further testing and treatment to pinpoint and see if he can be saved. But, at least we know that there is something wrong, that he isn’t just the runt/weak, and that it is more than worms. Doctor Hopkins could have gone further with his evaluation, but I thought it would be best to let the shelter handle it from there.To take things even further, Lewiston Vet even said they would call back in a few days to see how he is doing and let me know to contact them if I have any further questions or concerns. I can’t say enough about them, I am so grateful that they came through for us. Whether this kitten makes it or not, he was comfortable that night, and they stopped his discomfort. Based on this experience, I absolutely recommend them and I am sure that I will become a client in the future.

Very helpful, caring and friendly staff! They really try to take your finances into account if made aware. Really knowledgeable and informative. They really show compassion for your fluffy family. Made the cost a little bit easier.

My puppy has been sick for the past couple of days & we’ve had a positive experience here before with my kitten so we decided to take the pup here. I was satisfied with the employees I dealt with, they seemed nice & really compassionate. However, I left with over $600 out of my bank account just for a uti which is a bit excessive to me. Won’t be returning here again.

My usual veterinary was out sick and my cat MR JAZZMAN gotten sick need a find a veterinary that didnt make you wait till week later so off we go they where nice people who worked there .they gave us some antibiotics to give mr jazzman

We had an emergency situation with our girl Nala and our normal vet could not take her, we called Lewiston Animal Hospital and they took us right away, were kind and compassionate and friendly and we got the news she had cancer and had to be put down but not gouging us they took such great care of us and Dr Wicks was amazing and can’t thank her enough…and all the staff were amazing I will not go anywhere else ever! We will never forget how amazing they were❤️

We have used Lewiston Animal Hospital for care of our dog for the last four years. Let me first say that we have never experienced anything less than the most friendly and caring staff, and they really excel in making you feel like they love your animal as much as you do.Recently I brought our dog in for a broken nail. She was born with a twisted paw and nails that grow abnormally and this is unfortunately a common injury for her. After a lengthy examination and quite a chunk of change later, we were informed that nothing was seen wrong with her paw, other than needing a nail trim.Fast forward a week, our dog is still limping, and still in pain. I move our follow up appointment up since I can clearly see an injured nail. After another examination we were still told that the pain comes from the twisted nails and that it’s something that we just need to manage. This is where I had to put my foot down. We have had this issue before and have had it solved at this practice. I had to explain where to look, what has been done in the past, and ask them to reference the notes in her patient file. Was also charged another chunk of change for something that should have been resolved the first visit.I love this practice but felt very unheard this time. Also frustrated that there seemed to be no continuity of care from similar previous visits and that ignoring my concerns the first visit were just a way to have me pay a subsequent office visit fee when the issue didn’t magically resolve itself.

They made the effort to do as much as they could for my kitty while taking my limited budget into consideration, and I very much appreciated that. I walked away with medications, instructions, and advice. I wish they offered payment plans for the more expensive charges on the bill, but overall, Ill definitely be taking my cat there from now on for checkups and shots/vaccines as needed.

I have been coming here for 16 years. Dr.Spence is great, as well as the rest of the staff. She is always willing to discuss alternative treatments and why they may or may not be right for your pet. The groomer, Rachael, does a fantastic job making make very hairy dogs look amazing. Their hours are very convenient for my schedule.

I used to love this place when Dr Honeysette (sp?) worked there. He knew my dog and I well. He took great care of him for many years. We totally trusted him, it was almost as if he was treating his own dog instead of mine and for that we are eternally grateful to him. He cried a bit too when my boy passed away (saddest day of my life). Now, when visiting with our new pets, the people are nice but definitely less experienced and its just too corporate for us. Everything seems to be all about the money and not about the pets. I just dont see genuine caring, instead I see minimal reaction and almost fake concern. I believe there are more appropriate facilities for most things other than regular routine visits.

I love the attentiveness given to our animals and to us. I feel that the veterinary staff is highly competent and that they truly care about their furry customers. The kindness of the front desk staff and the veterinary staff is appreciated.

So far they have been great! Really knowledgeable and helpful. Good deal for puppies that beats other vets in the area! They were great when I called in a panic - calmed me down and didnt insist on an exam (which would have been useless, dog was fine - me panicking), just said I could come in if I was really worried but that I could also try some things at home - really impressed me that they didnt insist on costly exams and talked me through it.I know others have complained but so far we have loved them!

The vets at Lewiston Animal Hospital are always very gentle and good with my dogs and cats. They give honest information as needed and suggest all care that my pets may need. I have been a customer for 25 years and have had nothing but wonderful experiences with this vet office. Truly a great animal hospital.

If you are looking for excellent care for your animal be sure to use the Lewiston Animal Hospital and Dr. Janet Spence. Your pet will get incredible care and true compassion when they are ill and especially after their passing. Recently our beloved golden retriever Shiloh passed on and we couldnt have asked for a more caring staff than this hospital. We will never forget the kindness they gave us during this extremely difficult time.

Every staff I had interaction with was great. Staff was able to explain my dogs issues and course of treatment. Staff was friendly.

First time there today. Very friendly staff. The veterinarian was quite pleasant and helpful. Hardly any wait time once we got there. Im so happy they were open until 8pm so I could bring my dog in today and not make him wait. Turns out he has an eye infection and Im very grateful to not have to make him wait to get the medicine because clearly his eye was really bothering him.

My son went there with a very sick cat, who had to be put down a week after treatment. He told me they actually called him out of the room to get payment. He was grieving having to lose his pet and all they were concerned about was the money.

Everybody at the practice is always very kind and helpful. I appreciate how quickly you schedule appointments. It was clearly very busy the day Frankie was in for his dental procedure yet you treated him AND me with compassion. Thank you.

This animal hospital has been a nightmare since we started taking our dog there. Everything they do Is more expensive than other veterinary hospitals. My wife just took my dog there for an ear infection and was also concerned about our dog puking the night before. They ended up talking my wife into some package that included bloodwork and my wife walked out with a $500 bill. This place is like delta sonic, they just try and sell you on ridiculous “packages” that you’re pet does not need. We willNot be going back!

My dog was seen quickly for an emergency visit. All costs were explained thoroughly, as was follow up care. The staff was wonderful both over the phone and in person.

When I brought m cat in to the vet Lewiston Animal Hospital my heart was broken as I knew my cat was very sick. Got in as soon as I could after formally adopting the cat Ive been fostering, and the physical and subsequent vaccination were quick, helpful, and informative. Vet was great at handling her while keeping her comfortable.

Super friendly, helpful, professional and reasonably priced. My two dogs fought with a raccoon and they were due for rabies shots next week. They were able to see them right away and give the rabies shots. They even called the county health department on my behalf. The racoon was picked up an hour later for testing.Will go here again, thanks!

I called 2 days ago to make an appointment. Even though I wasn’t a client here, they accepted to see my dog right away. Best part is they don’t have that “ people are not allowed inside” BS. The vet and receptionist were welcoming and caring. They both answered all my questions. I will be taking my dog to them going forward.

Horrible horrible experience . PLEASE do not get your dog put down here. Our pit bull Mia who was almost 15 years old with cancer and abscesses all over her and an enlarged liver was suffering, she didn’t seem to be going on her own so we decided to take her here due to all the good reviews, but we were wrong. The vet Dr. Janet Spence tried to convince us to keep our almost 15 year old pit bull covered with cancerous tumors, alive and almost convinced us we were horrible people putting her down and wanted us to try treatments. We were absolutely not going to put our dog through that she was dying as is. So keep reading because it gets WORSE! We made the final decision to put her down despite this doctor wanting more money out of us for treatment that “may or may not work”. There was two technicians that put her catheter in they flushed her with saline twice and then started the anesthetic. We started to notice a bubble forming in her leg and AFTER the WHOLE syringe of anesthetic the vet realized that the catheter wasn’t even in her vein at all. So by this time our poor baby is even more scared, confused, and uncomfortable they continue poking her and finally find her vein. Then gave her her final dose and she was gone. Now this was like losing a family member or even worse. This was so hard to do and the horrible employees there made it even harder on us. THEY PUT MY DOG IN A GARBAGE BAG AND THREW HER IN OUR TRUNK as if she was garbage hearing her limp body hit the trunk broke my heart into so many pieces I will never forget it. I refuse to EVER go to this place again. Horrible care and horrible service. No empathy. Absolutely disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

This clinic is terrible and indirectly responsible for the death of one of my pets. Had they called in a prescription when requested, my cat would have had her medication. They waited almost a week, and my cat died. If you are looking for a place that actually cares about your companion animals, look elsewhere. This place cant go out of business fast enough.

I’m highly disappointed in this place since I’ve been taking my dog there since I got him. I took my dog there for an abscessed tooth that the Vet only talked to me for maybe 1 minute about before walking out. She didn’t know what it was or couldn’t even give me an idea of what she thought and said that they wanted to do surgery that was going to cost $2500, and didn’t recommend anything else like a medication. I took my dog somewhere else for a second opinion and NO surgery needed! The people who work their don’t care about your animals and only want your money. I highly recommend looking else where.

Everyone from the people behind the desk to the vets themselves were very helpful and took very good care of my pets. They answered our questions making sure we understood the answers to any of our pets.

They are so caring and treat my pets as they would their own, I think. Ive never had a problem getting my pets in whove had an emergency. The staff is phenomenal!!

I recently changed my 3 dogs to Lewiston Animal Hospital. I am so very pleased with the kindness of the staff and how professional and caring everyone is. The hours are fantastic for my work schedule.

Lewiston Animal Hospital has made any issues with my dog a comfortable and easy experience! Staff and doctors are friendly and knowledgeable and it is apparent how much they truly care about the animals that are being treated at their practice.

Its all about the money with these people. Went in with my kitten, was told beforehand that it will be less than $200! .$$600 later, after saying she needed this and that. We havent been back since. We now go to Buffalo.Oh Dr. Baker, with your mobile van, we miss you dreadfully.

Our cat went in for a sinus infection. She came out dying. They demanded that they give her a rabies shot. They gave it into her hip. The next day she couldn’t walk. She went downhill very rapidly after that. EVERYONE knows you dont give very sick animals vaccines. As far as we are concerned, they killed her.

They try to take you for every penny! My cat has a tooth abscess and they wanted me to pay $1500 for her get her teeth cleaned. Why not try giving my cat an antibiotic first to bring down the swelling on her gum near her tooth first!

I found the staff to be very caring. This was my first time going to them. They were very through, very detailed. I was impressed with Dr. Wicks and the vet tech that helped my seeet Baby. Thank you everyone.

Personalized and Compassionate care, like leaving a dog to hang herself in a kennel you knew was defective? On a previous visit she was trying to stick her head out of the kennel almost getting it stuck, our family was assured by your staff the mechanism would be fixed so that it wouldnt happen again. Well they never fixed the problem and Venus next visit would prove fatal. When the dog was supposed to be picked up the staff lied and gave conflicting reports as to what had happened. Their emphasis on preventive care would have been to get the kennel fixed. Would not take any animal to this facility. #voicesforvenus

Dr.Janet Spence has taken care of my 16 year old Siamese cat who suffers from pancreatitis, IBD and arthritis. With Pancreatitis treatments are necessary. Siamese cats can be hard to deal with. Dr.Spence knows her well,,always answers my many questions promptly, investigates new medications and truly care about China and me. The rest of the staff front, Techs are also great, and China can be difficult.

I thought my dog would be hard to handle with people he didnt know...but he was very gentle and as they were to him... Thank you..today is August 8th and now i have mixed feelings ..two weeks ago when i brought my dog in for a open wound he was treated and we when home with the belief he would be ok ..now today im told that they missed checking his teeth to see if that cause his problem that his face swell.. now im told he needed two teeth pulled and if not taking care of I would loose my dog within the next few months... now heres where my mixed feelings kick in.. it seem as soon as i said i couldnt afford it..their mood change.. pointing me in the direction of seeing if i could get help from the SPCA.. so now i dont know..even if i came up with the money theres no guarantee that he will live..

I can not say enough great things about Lewiston Animal Hospital. They take great care of our 2 large dogs, a German Shepherd and a Cane Corso. And just as great care with our smaller Cocker Spaniel and terrier mixed dog. We take our dogs there for all of our pet needs - from helping our beloved elderly dog pass on... to taking care of all of our new puppys needs and everything in-between.

I would give 10 stars if I could. My boxer got hurt this morning...I Spent the morning in tears because Sadie, my boxer, hurt her foot and I couldnt find any vet that was willing to take us in. My vet told me that they didnt have any techs on staff today so I was SOL.After hours of calling around and pleading with places we finally found a place. I called the Lewiston animal hospital and told her what happened and she said well lets get you right in. I said what? You mean you will take us??! And she replied yes, of course like it should be a no-brainer. After being turned away by all the other clinics I was just so happy I started crying all over again.These people are so wonderful and nice and I cant say enough good things about them. They are affordable and caring and genuine angels.If anyone has a dog or cat or whatever I 1000000% recommend Lewiston Animal Hospital.Now we are are home and Sadie is lazing about because shes hurting. Im so thankful to these people. Even with the covid pandemic they are finding ways to help..

Although they are knowledgeable and professional, the way they charge for all kinds of extra stuff on your bill is horrible. And they should be ashamed of themselves. Just because they are in Lewiston doesnt mean they can charge so much for simple procedures. Or make simple procedures into a more complex issue all while playing on the heart strings of the owner. Shame on you Lewiston Animal Hospital. Beware cat and dog owners!!!

I am very happy to give as many kudos to Lewiston Animal Hospital as I can, so you may read this review elsewhere, too. :)The staff here is excellent and what keeps me coming back. Im especially happy now with Drs. Spence and Stewart at the helm. Dr. Spence is the one Ive had as main caregiver in recent times, and she has a wonderful bedside manner – I felt comfortable asking as many questions as I needed to, and felt that I got excellent guidance and advice from her as we treated our cat Nico for a sudden decline in health. When the day came that we had to say goodbye to Nico, I was talked through the painful process carefully and thoroughly, and always had someone there to comfort me if I wanted it. Here I would like to give a special shout out to Dixie and the two Renees, with whom I had the most contact with during this painful time.All that said, during less difficult times they have provided great service and I cant think of a time I havent been able to get a quick appointment, and their hours are convenient to those who work day jobs. Veterinary care is expensive in general, and I dont think that their care is any more costly than many places. Even if it is – maybe it is, I dont know – I think for the kind of care we get here makes it entirely worth it. I will keep coming back as long as this team is in place.Thank you all at Lewiston Animal Hospital!
