SOS K9 Training

I was recommended to use K9 by several coworkers and they lived up to their reputation. We boarded our dog for 10 days. Daily we were sent pictures and videos of his training progress. (Pics below were when he was there) After anxiously awaiting his return, he was still excitingly our baby boy but now was receptive to commands that would break his usual behavior. It has been a work in progress and the trainers said they noticed how well he was responding at our post lessons. We work on reinforcement everyday but we have a new confidence that in certain situations our dog will listen and that feeling of security is priceless.

SOSk9 Training and Rameloh exceeded all my expectations! The experience for both myself and my pup, Artemis, was absolutely phenomenal. I opted for the 30-day board and train program because I simply didn’t have the time to dedicate to proper training for a puppy. We have had the pleasure of working with Rahmeloh and Chris. They are hands on trainers and make sure all members of the family are part of the training process. They take the time to insure everyone is comfortable with the commands and able to work with the dog. We have also bordered our dog with them and they do a great job. They brush up on training and introduce new commands while the dog is with them. They take the dog on multiple walks a day on top of working with them. They even shared videos and pics while we were on vacation. They are an excellent resource and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to dog training. They are quick to respond to questions and work with you to reinforce the commands they worked on with your pet. I highly recommend S.O.S. They are an amazing group of trainers and good people.

SOS K-9 is sincerely the best ! First and foremost I want to thank Trainer Melo , Trainer Chris and Trainer Yohanis for their unwavering compassion when it came to the sensitivity of sending our little man away for boarding and for guiding us every step of the way.I will try not to make this extremely lengthy but just enough so you can get a better idea of how humane , dedicated , honest, compassionate, personable, relatable and honestly the BEST these trainers are. My fiancé and I were referred to them through a mutual friend who went through the boarding process with their own rescue!! At first I’m not going to lie I was extremely nervous about giving Niko boy up for ten days so he can go to puppy obedience school we just rescued him on March 9th,2024 from the Animal Care Centers of NYC, Staten Island location where the team said they found our little man wandering the streets in a pack with a female dog who was older and more severely malnourished than Niko who at this time was about 9 months old and 35lbs. Fast forward to a month later Niko was growing and healthier than the little man has ever been and growing in both weight, size and temperament although he was double his weight he was still in his puppy phase.I knew I had an upcoming shoulder surgery and our dog walker was so supportive with helping us with Niko every step of the way but her and I both needed help, when we were referred to SOS K-9 when trainer Melo did the orientation with my fiancé and I he didn’t give us pressure, he wasn’t brass in his delivery. Melo , was extremely HUMBLE , relatable , HONEST, and loved dogs ! He gave us a time line of how him and his team grew from his college years playing football , graduating , and landing himself a nice blue collar job, he told us about he wanted more in life and how much he missed his dogs during his 9-5 . He knew he wanted to give his dogos the BEST LIFE possible so he went away to school and brought his own dog as he went through the Certified Dog Training Academy he went into the psychology of animals and dogs in specific to behavioral patterns, routine, what makes a dog happy what he wanted from training and what he wanted to give back to the community . He related to my injuries and wanted to make sure my fiancé and I were both comfortable and safe. Once Melo went into pricing it was a bit nerve wrecking for my fiancé and I being as I’m currently still recovering from shoulder surgery . He expressed to us not only his compassion and willingness to work with us but he also told us to take all the information he gave us those two hours in our home and do our own due diligence and research. My fiancé and I never felt pressured, which was something that made the process easy for the both of us Melo gave us just about a months time and had we needed more time we would’ve been understanding . It was not even a week and half after Melos visit where we decided we would make the decision to send Niko boy to boarding . Trainer Melo arrived at our home with all the necessary authorizations along with Trainer Chris who Niko boy stayed with during the 10 days of boarding and worked with our little man diligently for those 10 days . It was extremely hard for us to be away from Niko and our concern was because he was a rescue I didn’t want him to feel like we were just giving him up. Trainer Melo & Trainer Chris updated us throughout those ten days every step of the way and showed us how much Niko was progressing. Niko went from playful puppy biting and latching to actually understanding “ No” and to respect my fiancé and my hand as we continue to use the “ Hand feeding method “ during our morning and midday walks. After boarding our dog walker was kind enough to join us in the personal one on one sessions where she learned the basic obedience commands that would allow her to feel safe and comfortable walking Niko boy. Trainer Melo even allowed for our second dog Luna Belle although she was previously trained by my fiancé he allowed for Luna Belle to partake ! This team is the absolute GREATEST!

I highly recommend the trainers Rahmeloh and Chris. They are extremely knowledgeable and consistent. My dog Arroz could not be walked without pulling, barking, and jumping at people and dogs. When we found out we were expecting our first child we knew this would be the best decision for us. I dont regret it at all. After they trained arroz it was our turn to learn all that arroz learned—which was weird for us but Rahmeloh was very encouraging that we were doing good =). We continue to go to the trainings and arroz always has so much fun. I can’t say enough good things about them. THANK YOU RAHMELOH AND CHRIS!!!

SOS K9 Training is extremely knowledgeable about how to properly train puppies. They have done a great job with my Cane Corso puppy. Pics and videos were sent daily during his ten days boarding. Phenomenal job SOS K9 trainers.

SOS K9 Training is worth every penny! Not only are the trainers knowledgeable, but they truly take the time to ensure both pup & owner are grasping the concept at hand while supplying both in person & effective supplemental education. Personally, I worked directly with Rahmeloh, who truly ensured to individualize my puppy and cater the training around his personality. Apart from training, I have also left my puppy to board while on vacation and felt good knowing my puppy wasn’t just being locked away in a cage while I was gone. Even with their boarding options, they ensure skills are being enforced while allowing them to enjoy their “home away from home”. I would recommend SOS K9 Training to anyone looking to develop their puppy and/or dog’s behavior/training.

When we first got our puppy we knew we would use SOS K9 to train him based on the great reviews we have heard from friends and acquaintances. I will admit I was hesitant to give my new puppy over for 10 days due to the fear of the unknown, but they completely put me at ease. We saw his progress daily through updates and saw how happy he was. Now that he’s home, Im learning first-hand what a benefit sending him to SOS K9 has been. He’s happy, but I’m also happy knowing I have the tools to keep him trained. It’s a win-win.

SOS K9 overall was and is an amazing experience. I have to say the trainers Chris and Melo carried a level of professionalism where they truly showed my fiancé and I that they are all about the dogs and their safety. It is very crucial and important you read and study this material, as itll create a smooth and seamless transition from your dog leaving training to coming home.When the 10 days of training were over we noticed an immense difference in Niko, our dog. He responded to all the hand signals and commands he was taught. We were beyond impressed. It is important to really key in on what the trainers are telling you during your dogs first time back home as it is very crucial you do your due diligence to continue to reinforce these trained behaviors and work on it regularly.I cannot recommend going to them enough. The amount of knowledge Ive learned about what being a owner and trainer is like has been invaluable. Melo and his team at SOS K9 did a great job working with my pitbull mix rescue. They were patient and knowledgeable, and I saw noticeable improvements in my dog’s behavior after a few sessions. I highly recommend SOS K9. I have a 4 year old very people reactive boxer mix who I rescued at 11 months. I worked with Melo and Yohanis and found them to be very knowledgeable. I have used another training company in the past and while my dog did improve, I found Melo and Yohanis to be more detail orientated. I received daily updates/videos during the board and train and everything during the lessons was throughly explained. They explained why certain techniques worked and didnt work. They treat each dog like it is their own and answered all of my questions. They sharpened up his commands and even showed me a more efficient and effective way to help my dog when he becomes reactive towards others. Taking him on walks and out and about has become a lot less stressful. Melo and Yohanis are excellent trainers.

We were recommended to contact SOS K9 when we felt a bit over our heads with our dog Scout. She was almost 1 at the time, but became fearful on walks, wasn’t understanding “no”, and was just being an all around rambunctious girl. She is a mix of herding breeds, and was definitely putting us to the test. We had taken her to other training classes, but we often felt rushed and felt the classes lacked clarity and the “why” behind behaviors. We met Melo and Yohanis and they took their time explaining all of our options, discussed different training theories, but most importantly, listened to all of our concerns, answered all of our questions, and really learned what we wanted to get out of the training for not only Scout, but for us as well. We opted for a month long board and train, and Scout spent most of her time with Yohanis. We missed her terribly, but the daily texts, photos, and videos were amazing! Seeing her progress was the best way to know we made the right decision. Every 10 days, we would see Scout for trainings, and Yohanis and Melo would teach us the proper commands and handling, to insure she was understanding us as well. The improvements that Scout made and continues to make now that she is home, is incredible to see. She’s still our same playful girl, but her listening, focus, and fearfulness have changed dramatically. Yohanis and Melo treated her as their own, and we truly can’t thank them enough for the care and time they put into their training programs! These guys are truly the best!Brynn, Sam, & Scout

My reactive, anxious and rebellious pitbull mix went through the SOS residency and came back a completely different dog. In such a short time, Melo was able to improve his behavior, obedience and give him more self-confidence than hes ever had.The entire SOS team is extremely knowledgeable and supportive. After other failed attempts with trainers, the SOS team has laid the foundation for success.The weekly group sessions and private lessons give us an opportunity to refine his obedience and push his boundaries in a controlled environment.They are the full package and I highly recommend them. Rahmeloh and his training team do an amazing job! They excelled at training our dogs despite them having two very different personalities. They were able to handle one very stubborn dog and another with high anxiety with ease and care. We were truly impressed with all the dogs learned!

I cannot recommend SOS K9 enough! This is the third trainer we tried with our dog and the only that we saw meaningful progress and success with. After a previous poor experience with board and train through another company I was hesitant to try again, but it made the most sense for our family while traveling.Melo and his team are trustworthy and communicative. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable and that your dog is having fun. They truly establish a relationship with your animal so that there is fundamental trust when their core beliefs are challenged or your dog is pushed beyond their comfort zone to learn and grow. My reactive and challenging dog LOVES doing sessions with or boarding with Melo. During boarding we get frequent photos and videos that show that our pup is safe, happy, and learning.The SOS K9 team is clear and patient, making sure that you and your dog understand exactly what is being taught, asked, and expected so that you can continue to successfully practice with your dog and reinforce concepts. Instruction is provided in person, in writing, and via video. They are just as focused on the human learning as they are the animal. They make sure to follow up with meaningful private lessons after boarding and also offer group sessions to continue learning and building skill free of charge.Our reactive dog now gets compliments regularly for how much calmer he is on walks and has even navigated two off leash dog encounters without escalation. These are things we were struggling with daily before training with SOS K9 and it’s great to have a trainer that celebrates those wins and that progress just as much as you do. I confidently and regularly recommend SOS K9 to family, friends, and strangers on the street because they have made such a positive impact on our dog and family.

I am so happy with the decision of having my dog train with Sos K9 training. I choice to do the board option and it truly was the best decision I have made. My dog was already 6 years old and I thought it was going to be impossible. Melo surpassed all of my expectations and I’m glad for the lifetime lesson.

My experience with SOS was life changing. I love my dog but he was having so many issues due to his anxiety. He displayed so many negative behaviors and I didnt know how to train him to not do the things I didn’t want him to do. It was very stressful and frustrating. The guys were so great with him and through the training my Teddy now is happy and obedient. I mainly worked with Rahmeloh and Chris and these guys were the best. Fact, SOS K9 Training know what they are doing when it comes to training dogs. The difference we saw in our baby Feta when she finished her private sessions was amazing! My dog and I had a great experience with SOS K9. She was very responsive to her residency with them. Communication was amazing. I received daily updates, videos and FaceTimes. When she came back Rahmeloh took his time to explain to me what she had learned and why it works. My dog had less anxiety once she returned home and walked better on a leash. She also now responds to commands that I never imagined she would. We continued our lessons once she got back and can’t wait to go to the group lesson. I would rate our experience a 10/10.

I had the pleasure of using SOS K9 training to help with my little dog.She is 16lbs. but thinks she’s a Rottie. Rahmeloh,the trainer, with his extensive knowledge, calm and patient demeanor obedience trained her.Within weeks I saw a dramatic change in her.. Can’t believe the progress SOS made with our stubborn beagle. Meloh did such a great job with our pup, and helped us learn step by step how to keep up with training Bowie. Was always a pleasure having him over for lessons and watching how well Bowie responded to his training.

We have a 2 year old pittie who was a very sweet boy when we got him when he was 1. While my husband and I tried to train him in that first year, he did well but we knew he needed a lot more work especially recalling and leash walking since he still pulled ALOT. We were referred by multiple people to SOS training, even random strangers, and decided to try it out. While it was really hard having my baby gone for his residency training for 2 weeks, he came back to us such a different dog. His transformation was amazing! Melo is an extremely patient person and shows much love and compassion to my dog which I appreciate, but still was firm when it came to commands. He has taught our family how to communicate effectively with our dog. What cues to look for, hand signaling, and constant training to have our baby be as successful as possible because of his breed. Even after his training there are weekly training sessions with other SOS alumni where we go through different distractions and recalls while there are still other dogs which helps reinforce the training for not just the dog but especially the dog owner. I would highly recommend hiring SOS dog training!!!

Weve been working with SOS K9 Training for just over a year now and I can not thank them enough for the progress weve been able to achieve with our dog. Our dog is a rescue who has anxiety and significant reactivity who was previously unable to go on productive walks. Over the past year with SOS K9 weve been able to train obedience commands as well as manage her reactivity and build confidence around her fears and triggers. My wife and I hired Mello to train our 8 year old pitbull mix. When we first met for a consult he did a demo for us with his dog and said if we take the training seriously our dog will be able to do exactly what his dog did. I didn’t think it was possible but I was completely wrong. Mello exercises Patience, and professionalism, with your dog and with you. He passes on his vast knowledge of training and makes the experience fun and effortless. I have already recommended him to friends and to people who have stopped me in the street while walking my dog asking me “how did you get your dog to behave like that” the answer is Mello and SOS K9. Our dog Lilly has always been a great dog at heart but was not the perfect angel we need a 75 pound young lady to be. I rescued my dog when she was a year old. She lived on the streets in Aruba for the first 8 months of her life. She came to me at one year old a happy girl but resource guarded, was fear aggressive toward other dogs, and extremely reactive. We started working with Rameloh in July 2023 when she was almost 4. We started with private sessions with him. He was so knowledgeable and hands on, he taught me how to handle her, teach her and help her. We started with basics and then worked until she mastered the higher level skills we had been working on. The best part is after our private training sessions were over, we started going to Rameloh’s group classes and began learning more skills and building upon the old skills with distractions and other dogs. People always comment on how well behaved she is when we are out in public and say that their dog could never be like that and I always recommend SOS K9 Training. Rameloh and his team are the best. Monty loves Melo, as soon as I say, “Wanna go see Melo?” she runs straight for the door! My dog has come such a long way and I can confidently say if you work with SOS K9 you will see such a difference with your dog!

We sent our 7 month old puppy, George to Rahmelo for the 10 day boarding/training and it was by far the best thing we could’ve done for ourselves and our boy. George came back the same happy, playful puppy, but he was new and improved. What meant the most to us is that we never once felt that George wasn’t safe or in the best hands when he was away from us. Melo kept us updated daily on his progress and sent multiple videos/pictures. Melo is patient, calm and persistent. He worked with us one on one after the 10 days to ensure George would listen to our commands in multiple different scenarios and distractions. Rahmeloh is a life saver! Before Training with Rahmeloh I was on the verge of finding my 2 Rottweilers a new home. They would pull me while going on walks, chase after squirrels and sometimes bark at other dogs. It became really tough and i didn’t know what else i could do. They both are strong, agile, 90lb Rottweiler sisters that would feed off of eachother. Before I gave up I gave Rahmeloh a call and he told me they can be taught and be better dogs. He helped teach me how to understand Violet and Royal and be able to teach them. With the help of meloh they both became more obedient when going on walks and interacting with other dogs no matter how big or small. They also are truly amazing when meeting kids and adults! Everyone loves them and pets them when we are out on walks, it is really a great feeling. Since the beginning Rahmeloh never stopped believing in us, he took his time to explain and give me the tools as well as the knowledge I needed to continue with future training as well as additional training to do on my own to help make them even better dogs. Now we go on long walks and my dogs have so much more freedom when outside. Training with meloh is the best decision i have made for my dogs. I am truly grateful to have let him teach me and train us.

We have had other trainers and tried ourselves with YouTube, but saw no real results until we started working with Rahmeloh. Our 90 lb.
