If we could give 100 stars, we would! We got our mini poodle, Brownie, a few days ago and couldn’t believe his behavior. He’s so well behaved and comfortable being handled by humans and playful with other dogs. The second night home, he willingly went into the cage after hearing his heartbeat sensor, which Mindy included in his to go bag, and he slept through the entire night with no crying. My partner has had puppies before and he said Brownie by far is the most pre-trained that he’s ever gotten. Mindy overall was fantastic to work with. She was very informative and communicative throughout the entire process. She included everything necessary for us to take the proper care of Brownie. Cant recommend, but a moot point now, as theyve surprise! gone out of business. No comment on the dogs, who are almost certainly wonderful. The owners recently closed up shop without notifying those who had made deposits via any of the provided direct contact methods, and when contacted directly to either purchase a puppy or receive a refund of the $150, the owner updated her website to say that inactive list deposits are forfeit (they hadnt said this at the time the deposit was made) and tried to pretend the deposit was basically an admin fee. Too bad the Wayback Machine is a thing, and I had screenshots to catch her in the lie. I was previously sympathetic & tried to reason with her, but when it became clear she was a disreputable business person and offered to connect me with other ethical breeders, I couldnt help but laugh at the way people manage to delude themselves. Dont trust whatever response she makes here, because shes inventing rules as she goes along without informing any of her customers of the changes as to why she deserves to keep their money, through no fault of their own, while providing nothing in exchange except, as she put it, making all those phone calls; given there was nary a phone call, nor email regarding policy changes, I guess the deposit was an administrative rate of $50-150 per text message in the efforts of basically making more profit? Shes evidently running this business with ethical fortitude of Goldman Sachs. lol

I am so happy I went through DM Hilltop FURfamily for our goldendoodle, Riesling. He was already accustomed to the crate and almost totally potty trained. She takes great care of her dogs and a lot of time with the puppies to get them training and ready to go home. She was there every step of the way and answered all of my questions! Even when something came up with transportation she was there to help.

It is so clear that this breeder puts so much effort into giving the puppies the best start to their lives. Their communication was quick. I wish the timing lined up that we could have adopted a puppy from her, but that is zero fault of the breeder. Based on my experience, I highly recommend.

DM Hilltop FURfamily is the best breeder. Love seeing all the puppies new and older. It’s nice to connect with the breeder, Melinda Leigh, always there to help and give advice!! So fun to see the Fur Babies Mom’s and Dad’s and their siblings!!! Always nice to see everyone’s puppies and see, read Melind’s comments and pictures!!❤️

My youngest dog came from DM Hilltop FURfamily and I couldnt be happier! We were fortunate enough to receive a donation puppy so he could be trained to be a therapy dog for the school I teach at. Knowing what his purpose would be, they chose which puppy for us. The trainers even said they chose wonderfully! He was fully certified just before he turned 6 months! Mr. Red is a perfect addition to our family as well as my school! They started him off so well with exposure to noises, textures and love!

Our family will be forever grateful to DM Hilltop FURfamily. Melinda is everything you could want in a breeder. She is so knowledgeable and helpful. I have reached out many times over the last few years with questions and she makes herself readily available. We love seeing every litters progress and updates. The puppies are all so loved and Melindas hard work shows in them. I researched goldendoodle breeders for so long because of our families extreme allergies and I am so thankful that led us to Melinda on Facebook. I never thought we would even be a dog family, and now we have to stop ourselves from bringing them all home. Highly recommend always❤️

We had a great experience adopting our golden doodle. We found Hilltop from the Good Breeder website. The owner was very responsive, she quickly answered all of our questions. She cares for her pups and you can tell by all the information and videos she shares online. The website is very thorough and informative. We still are in contact with her sometimes when we have puppy questions, she is always happy to help. Would highly recommend them!!!

I would highly recommend DM Hilltop FURfamily to anyone who is looking to purchase a puppy. Mindy was really responsive since the beginning of my journey when I decided to buy my golden doodle from her. She always seemed happy to answer any questions that I had and offers continued breeder support throughout the dog’s lifetime. They sold me a healthy dog with an amazing temperament. I found this Breeder on FB and couldn’t be happier with our puppy who is now 5 months old. He is smart, well behaved and just the cutest! Can’t go wrong getting a puppy from DM Hilltop! Very knowledgeable, answers all questions and is very committed to her dogs and puppies. They go beyond with their clients, dogs and pups!

Before the pandemic I wanted a goldendoodle because it’s one of the low shedding dogs due to family allergies. My search included a wide range of areas but being in NY I wanted a puppy that I could get to within driving distance. After exhausting my list, I landed on DM Hilltop Furfamily and so glad that I took the time to add myself to the waiting list. When it was finally our time, my family and I weren’t ready so we delayed our furbaby until he was born in June 2022. Fast forward 8 weeks later, we brought home our multigenerational goldendoodle. He is incredibly smart and a love of the family and our friends. Melinda however is a gem!! She has always been super responsive and it’s not about the money for her. I’ve watched her posts on her FB group with her kids and how they care for their litters. The amount of time and dedication it takes, then on top of it all to remain responsive and juggle house and home, I am in awe of her. I’m still trying to figure out how she has the energy because my one puppy took me back to some sleepless nights in the first 2 weeks but now going into work all I do is wish I were home more to play with him. I highly recommend DM Hilltop if you’re looking and she spends the time genetic testing, etc. so you can choose from a wide range of colors, coat type, gender and size.

I discovered DM Hilltop when I started searching for a puppy addition to our family. Ive learned so much about breeding, being a puppy mom, genetics and puppy socialization. They are incredibly professional and responsive while still keeping a very family driven business. I recommend DM Hilltop to everyone I meet looking for a furbaby.

They don’t pay their balances to companies they work with. Speaks to their morals & ethics. I would call that a red flag. They buy lots of dogs. Would love to see their usda license & or NY license. Since they have 5 plus stud dogs alone? Melinda isn’t someone anyone should do business with if you have that many kids & that many dogs are they actually well taken care of? Facebook has been taken down multiple times RED FLAGS! RED FLAGS!

This is our first time using DM Hilltop fur family and so far the process has been super easy. They are very good with posting pictures and giving you updates. So far I would definitely recommend.

Mindy is super knowledgeable and always willing to help with any questions Ive had. Our puppy from Lilys golden retriever litter is well behaved, adorable and just an all around good addition to our family!🤗

I can’t recommend Mindy enough. I got one of her last litters of golden retrievers. Atticus has grown into such a beautiful dog and he’s well mannered! She puts so much time, love and care into these dogs and it shows. She has always been the best at giving advice / tips as well. If you’re looking at purchasing a dog I highly recommend DM Hilltop

We could not be more happy with our experience from initial contact to puppy pick up with DM Hilltop. Melinda answered my questions before I even put a deposit down. She is wonderful communicating on social media and always keeping followers updated on whats happening with litters, upcoming pairings, etc. I decided to use them as our breeder because I knew how much time/work she puts into the research of genetics, health history, etc. and she had the type of dog we were looking for. We picked up our pup beginning of August and she continues to be there for any questions we may have. Choosing DM Hilltop was the best decision we could have made! Thank you!
