My high anxiety dog got very sick. The whole team was so good. Very affordable. Didn’t run up a bill on a whole bunch of crazy tests. Which has been my experience with a couple of other vets. This was my second time going there with her and the second time I left there extremely happy. I don’t normally post reviews, but felt I really should. As anxious as Bailey was while there, that was calm for her in an unfamiliar place. Everyone from vet, to reception desk, to lab tech was so sweet to her. Thanks VCA Oakdale Animal Hospital.
Dtr Gray and her staff were excellent. Our dog is very anxious when going to the vet and the staff went out of there way to make sure he was comfortable and feeling safe during his visits. Their special handling eliminated the need to restrain him and the extra love he was getting distracted him from the medical care he was receiving. He now looks forward to his car trips to see his friends at Oakdale Animal Hospital. I cannot thank them enough.
A few months ago , I had to put down my 18 year old cat , who I had basically grown up with. She took a turn very suddenly , and It was obvious I couldn’t wait around and watch . I could not find a hospital with availability on short notice and even my regular veterinarian had a wait of several days which would not have been ideal given how fast she had declined. She would have suffered if I waited for availability at my regular vet.Oakdale VCA were able to fit me in and made the entire process so much more bearable. I’ve had to put down three cats in my life, and they really took the greatest care in making sure my cat was comfortable and in peace . They let me say goodbye for as long as I needed and were so personable . I never felt rushed and the whole procedure was very dignified. The two ladies, the veterinarian and tech, who’s names I don’t remember unfortunately, were so pleasant and very compassionate. Amazing staff.I now have a kitten and will be switching to them for his care in the future . I was very pleased even though the circumstances were awful. Thank you for making Mina’s last moments peaceful. I’m so grateful for that.
Very nice doctor, nurse, and receptionist. My bunny was very nervous since it was his first time at the vet, but they got him through it just fine. The doctor was very knowledgeable on rabbits, and helped to direct me on how to better care for my bunny. I plan on making this place my regular vet :)
Dr Grey is Awesome. Our pug Munson had an ulcer in his eye. Dr Greygave us a treatment plan to heal the deep ulcer. She was so caring and concerned at every visit. The treatment plan she laid out worked and his eye is good as new.. We are so grateful.to Dr Grey and her staff . They are just as Awesome. They all go above and beyond. Thank you all for healing our favorite family member! Happy and Healthy Holidays to all. Love the Alvino Family.
My experience at Oakdale VCA was one of the worst of all my vet visits in over 40 years with my 5th Dog. I decided to try Oakdale since they had a promotion of a free exam and I was just looking for a refill of meds for a bladder issue. After much debate about having to have a 200 dollar blood and urine test{ would not write script without} after results were NEGATIVE of which I told them it would be they still would not write script for me to purchase Meds from PetMeds{ or anywhere else} the LARGEST online pet pharmacy in the US because in their own words we do not know where they get their meds from I have purchased from PetMeds for years and they send me the Meds in the bottle from the manufacturer They said I can purchase from them 14 pills for $32{ of course I said how do I know where you got your meds from}. I purchased from them since I did not have a choice since I was down to my last meds for my Pet. After MUCH debate and 5 phone calls and 2 more personal vists I was able to purchase 240 pills from PetMeds for $48 - Oakdale cost was over $250 for the EXACT same meds. Obviously the mark up is over 400% and that is how they want to keep it. That may have worked before we had options , but that business model no longer works in 2019. 0 stars!!!
Dr Gary is very nice, responsible and professional. Staffs are nice and helpful. My cats been treated incredibly well.I am very grateful for your help
Dr. Gray and staff are absolutely amazing Ive been bringing my dog here since 2008 and have always had the best care they really care about each pet.
The have since moved to a new location, VCA animal hospital. I have been using this clince for years! I recommend this clinic, they have always taken care of my pets needs.
Dr. Gray is the best! The staff are great! My animals are treated beyond well when I go there!
This hospital killed my 9 year old Rabbit..This place claims they take care of Rabbits, but they do not have the experience to make that claim..I had brought my Bunny in for a basic ear infection that I noticed right away..When Dr Grey first saw my Bunny she commented she never saw a Rabbit with cataracts before..Obviously she had not seen a lot of Rabbits in her profession which should have been a warning sign that she hasnt hadnt that much experience with Rabbits..The Hospital didnt carry the medicines that my Rabbit needed nor the recovery food..I had to go fishing for them on line or at other animal hospitals..My Bunny was doing well at first with the antibiotics Dr Grey prescribed, but soon as he showed improvement Dr Grey did not keep him on it every day for full treatment as she should have, and switched to every other day, and my Bunny started to get sick again ..He should have then gotten stronger antibiotics like Penicillin which requires shots..She said she doesnt believe in giving shots to Rabbits because they are too small, but there are urgent times when Rabbits need stronger antibiotics given that way because their stomachs are too sensitive to take by mouth they need to get injected at the loose skin on the back of the neck..My Bunny then developed Wry Neck ..and when things got too complicated after she wasted a month of my Rabbits life, because she didnt know what she was doing, she told her receptionist to tell me to go to Catnip And Carrots, but didnt have the respect to tell me herself, or even bother to care to check and see how my Bunny was doing.. I actually went to Island Exotics another Rabbit experienced vet, but by then my Rabbit was too sick to treat and had to be put to sleep .. I should have taken him there in the first place..I now have much experience, and go to the right vet for all my Bunnys care, and there was even a time when one of my Bunnys needed Penicillin shots when he developed an chin abscess, I administered the penicillin shots myself with my experienced vets permission... I now feel I must warn people they need to do their research when they have exotics, and got to the proper vet..Rabbits are very fragile creatures, requiring a very different care then a dog or cat.. Dr. Grey may be good with dogs and cats, I dont know much about her experience with them, but I can assure you her experience with Rabbits are limited like clipping their nails..Start out at the right Vet for your pets sake, otherwise you will end up heartbroken and with much regret that you didnt.
Receptionist was extremely nice and helpful, staff was cordial and friendly, doctor indicated what the problem was and how to treat it quick and efficiently, however the prices are steep.
I trust everyone at VCA Oakdale to take the best possible care of all my pets
Know Dr.Grey for over 25yrs. Wonderful and excellent dr.highly recommended
I just switched to oakdale animal hospital and I love it!
I was so amazed with Dr. Grey and the staff here. Very professional and honest. They were very knowledgeable and they handled my cat very well. If you live in the area and need to take your cat to a vet I definitely recommend this place.
Professional service, no waiting and they were wonderful there!
Dr. Grey is COMPLETELY unprofessional. I took my dog in to be treated for anxiety issues. After being taken almost two hours after our appointment time, she admitted he needed to be medicated but insisted that we buy calming food and a collar from them before we tried the medicine. She also told us that he needed bloodworm done to see if he could be put on anxiety meds. $400 later and no follow-up call, I finally call them myself to find that no prescription for anxiety meds was made AND my dog actually has roundworm. Dr Grey claimed that she called us and I pointed out that she called the wrong number she got very defensive and replied well, I called A number. I then expressed concern about my cat also contracted the roundworm and she told me I was as anxious as my dog and a handful of other offhand comments. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
