Dr. Motler is an amazing veterinarian. My husband and I are parents to a 3 year old French Bulldog. Scarlette is everything to us and about 6 weeks ago we brought her to PVAH after being sent to over 5 doctors around NY state with what we thought was allergies. Dr. Motler discovered it was lymphoma. As devastating the news, Dr. Motler went to work to come up with the best plan of action that is within our power to maintain a good life for our Scarlette. Dr. Motler and her staff welcome us with open arms with every visit and Scarlette is happy and as healthy as she can be. What we like about Dr. Motler is she is straight to the point, honest and gives us real expectations. Dr. Motler understands how our Scarlette is no different than any other family member and is as compassionate about taking care of our Scarlette as we are about the love we have for our little girl. We truly are thankful to have finally found a veterinarian that cares so much for animals and the needs of their families. We recommend anyone who needs a safe place to bring their pet go to Dr.Motler. No matter what is going on in your pets life you can be confident the above and beyond care that will go into your pet is unique, genuine and unmatched anywhere. Thank you Dr. Motler.

I loved this vet when she helped me with my very sick cat in 2022. She was kind and compassionate. When I called to make an appointment for my 4 year old cat who had just spent 48 hours in emergency care, I was told I had to pay $75 over the phone right that second to get an appointment that was unclear how far out it would be. When I asked how I could pay it if I did not have a credit card with $75 available, I was told I simply could not have an appointment. The person I spoke to on the phone then would not talk about anything other than how I would have to pay when the appointment happened, talking over me, and refusing to hear that it’s simply that I do not have a credit card with $75 available RIGHT THIS SECOND since we just spent $1900 on emergency care, and $270 on vials and insulin, all without warning. I started crying and was told to stop yelling and she hung up on me.

UPDATE!! I recieved a copy of the email in the mail. So not only does she charge clients for trying to reschedule, she harasses them too. I originally loved this place but after yesterday I will never be back and will recommend no one go there. I was singing their praises and now will never be back. My appointment was at 11:30. I arrived at 11:25 and called to let them know I knew I was early but checking in. They said they would get me in at my appointment time. Okay, cool. My cat doesnt travel well and they know that as Id told them before but they hadnt given me any help with it. At 11:37 I called again to see if we could get her in as she was panting and even out of her carrier I couldnt calm her. I was told they were running behind and would get to me shortly. I waited until 11:45, when I called again and was greeted with an attitude upon telling them who I was. I explained I would like to reschedule as we had been waiting so long and my cat was not doing well. The vet, who shouldnt be answering phones or even dealing with people, had an attitude and told me they would get to me when they get to me and if I reschedule, Id have to pay a cancelation fee. I told her that if I hadnt been waiting over 15 minutes I wouldnt be leaving and hung up. This is the email I got from them and proof of my call logs. Do not go to these people, the Dr is terrible. I was told by my vet tech professor to not go into this line of work if you dont like both people and animals. Its time to retire.

Dr. Motler is amazing with all of my animals. She takes the time she needs with each one, gets to know them and remembers them. If I am in with another pet, she always asks about the rest of the family. After our dog was attacked, he was terrified of going to the vet. Dr. Motler worked with him, got down on the floor with him, let him come by for fun visits so he would not be so traumatized at his visits. Her compassion when having to put a pet down is enormous. She is as supportive of the pet owners as she is of her patients. She always tries to be accommodating and has gone out of her way to help. Yes, its expensive to care for your pets. But if you analyze all the hours she is open, the after hours accommodations, the extra care she provides you will find that she is working for much less than you would think a doctor should earn per hour. Its a hard lifestyle that she has dedicated her life to. I am thankful for her and her skills. I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Our dog is what most vets would consider difficult. Dr. Motler has always taken plenty of time with him to get him settled and ready to be seen rather than rushing us through the visit. She remembers the animals and their medical history which is impressive this day and age. Highly recommend.

STAY AWAY!!! UNLESS you have infinite money and time to spend. Went to get my dog laser treatment ($45) and she insisted on tons of tests and having them read by expert vets at huge costs to me. Not to mention my poor husband spent neatly 6 hours there until I relieved him, only for me to spend another 5 hours there!!!! When i got there the vet commented that my husband was on his cell most of the time he was there!!!! As if she was appalled at it!!!! She was not at all kind or compassionate in explaining all the things done to my dog either, and when i asked about the tests and experts, answered me as if i was not entitled to any answers, as if i was bothering her for explanations. All this totalled $2,500!!!Again, the laser treatment, which is what we went for, was $45. Since you need to do a series of them we agreed to go back, only to have an 11:30 appointment and then wait over an hour to be called in. I left after an hour and when they called told them I was going elsewhere. Now I wait for all the test results to send to another much more professional vet...DO NOT RECOMMEND.

My husband just called and was inquiring about my dog who is really sick and may need to be put down and instead of the person who answered the phone being empathetic and understanding made my husband feel like the worst human in the world for even calling, as if we were a bother to her. Not understanding that this phone call is extremely difficult for us as she is OUR family. Needless to say we are exploring other options because of the lack of empathy.

My 13 year old dog had a mast cell tumor removed recently. Dr. Motler and Cindy were very professional and helpful to give us the best care and a good outcome. I cannot say enough about Dr. Motlers expertise and knowledge as well as the empathy of her and her staff. She is rightly concerned about the impact of the covid-19 virus on her staff and her patients owners and as a physician I applaud her efforts to keep everyone safe. Her fees are very reasonable in my experience. She fully discusses each problem with the pet parents in a clear explanation for all to understand.

Dr. Motler is not just any veterinarian she is our miracle worker. She truly cares not only about my animals she cares about the people taking care of them.My babies are now 12-1/2, brother and sister pure breed mini daschunds. Dr. Motler has been their vet for over half of their lives. She took over the practice of their previous vet and we are so very thankful and blessed to have such a gifted amazing person providing them care. Dr. Motler has done not only your basic physicals and shots. She has diagnosed chronic pancreatitis early stages so a special diet was prescribed. She has diagnosed food allergies and got my girl on a diet she could eat safely. Everything from bee sting and spider bite reactions. Muscle spasms where they can’t walk and she provided electro acupuncture. Spinal injury she provided laser treatment. As you have read My kids have come with their challenges, asthma, allergies, muscle spasms, herniated discs, and high anxiety around other animals. She has helped my kids (and me) day and night. If they didn’t have an appointment her staff would do their absolute best to help me get them in to her. She provides them with the best care, and helps a scared parent feel like they are doing all they can.A year ago my boy needed surgery and time was of the essence. Her knowledge led to the quick diagnosis and her continued education and networking with other specialists got us to where we needed to be to treat him. Just a month ago my boy was diagnosed with herniated discs in his neck. She got us in with the same specialist immediately. They are over an hour away but she stayed in touch with them and us the entire time to be sure we all knew what was being done and we all agreed it was his best treatment.Thank you Dr. Motler and the team at PVAH. You are all truly the most amazing care givers !!

I took my dog here today for his vaccinations. Since the corona we went to the tent outside to do the shots. ( it was an open text) After he was done I had him back on the grass inside the tent as the lady vet was talking to me. I had my dog on the leash but he was sniffing around. I was paying attention to what she was saying to me, looking at her. My dog peed on the side of the bench... the lady vet got very rude. “No that was bad!” Me: “I’m sorry he likes to mark his territory.” Vet: “now I have to disinfect that. Maybe you can pay attention more and teach him what’s wrong and right” I said nothing. Rude and unprofessional. You work with animals.. and he’s outside. He didn’t know any better.

Dr. Motler is the best! So kind and caring!I met Dr Motler when one of my dogs had a bulging disc in her back that left her with no use of her legs. Dr Motler drove down county 3 nights a week for months to work on Anna. She not only got Anna back on her feet she got her running again and along the way she gained the trust of my 3 other dogs (not an easy task). I have never had any dogs before love their vet. I can say my dogs love Dr Jayme Motler and so do we! Thanks Dr Motler you are the best!

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital, and I feel compelled to share my experience to help other pet owners make informed decisions.I scheduled an early morning appointment for my dog, who was showing signs of pain and dementia. However, 30 minutes before the appointment, the staff called to reschedule because Dr. Motler was called out on an emergency. While I understand emergencies happen, the lack of communication and clarity throughout the day was frustrating. I was asked to call back multiple times to check if the doctor had returned, only to be met with uncertainty each time. This lack of clarity led me to seek an emergency visit at another vet clinic. To make matters worse, Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital charged me a $75 cancellation fee despite the fact that I had to reschedule multiple times due to their scheduling issues. I spent the entire day out of work trying to get my dog seen, only to end up paying a cancellation fee for an appointment that I couldnt attend due to their scheduling confusion.Despite my numerous attempts to contest the fee and speak with Dr. Motler, I never received a call back. After two months of trying to resolve the issue, I finally paid the fee in person, just to put the matter to rest. However, the situation worsened when I requested my dogs records to be sent to the new vet. Even though I submitted the authorization in person, witnessed by the office manager, they claimed they never received my permission and refused to release the records. This entire experience has been extremely stressful and frustrating. The lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism from Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital has left me disappointed and distrustful of their services. I hope this review helps others avoid a similar experience.

I called to ask about getting my cat seen. When I asked about price the lady I spoke to got angry and said she doesnt price shop and became rude. Not everyone can afford 1,000 dollars in very bills. Some people would like to see what type of bill they are dealing with.Very unprofessional. Would not recommend if I could I give a negative rating I would.

We have been with this animal hospital for 10 years now. The staff is always courteous and really friendly to our dog. We feel like they are family to us and our dog. When our dog had a muscle sprain, Dr. Motler worked with him for two months with laser therapy and physical therapy to heal his sprain without the necessity of surgery. We regularly board our dog at the hospital as well without any worry when we are gone. I highly recommend this animal hospital and Dr. Motler - she is always on top of the latest treatments for your animals.

We have been a client of Dr. Motlers for over 10 years. She has treated all 9 goats that we have owned (there are six as of 2016) both our Airedale (died 2012) and our Bloodhound (turned 4 on 2/16/16). While the Hudson Valley region has a number of outstanding DVMs, none of them are superior to Dr. Motler. I can say, with total honesty, that your animal will receive the total professionalism that Dr. Motler gives to her: border collie, 2 cats and 11 horses. There is no other DVM I would trust more to treat my animals then Jayme Motler,DVM.Thomas J.
