I was nervous for a longer overnight stay for our Yorkie, it was his first time. The staff was incredible and on top of it. We booked the regular kennel crates but our pup had never been in a crate before and after the first night they noticed our pup was in distress and we were out of country and they went into action and moved him to a private room automatically to settle him for the rest of his stay. We were so appreciative they took special care and attention to him while we were gone. Then the next time we came back from an overnight stay Teddy SPRINTED to the door and was SO excited to be back 🥹😍. We knew he felt comfortable there and we will keep coming back.
I’ve used paws and play twice now for boarding. My dog is incredibly happy whenever I pick her up and it’s clear that the folks working here really love dogs. I just dropped her off for another stay, and Chris came around and scooped her up with no issues at all, which is the first time I’ve ever dropped her off for boarding without her having any sort of separation anxiety. I could not recommend this place more
We have been using paws and play since it’s inception for our Airedale Brody. The owner Matt along with his staff has always been very responsible and is always caring for each dog that arrives. The staff is polite, courteous and always is happy to see Brody giving him a huge Welcome every time he arrives. Brody responds immediately when Paws and Play is mentioned and can’t wait to jump in the car and start his day!! He loves the experience and we couldn’t be happier with the care he gets. The best ever and couldn’t ask for more !!!
Great with pets. They really care about the animals and the owners. Nice staff, who take the time to ensure your pet is maximizing their play time. Big shot out to Emma who is great and the owners dog Hill who is always good with our little @soupsammie who thinks shes a big dog!
This was our first time boarding our dog with Paws & Play and we couldnt have been happier! The immediate warmth upon greeting by several staff helped our anxious pup and the check in process was smooth and easy. We loved how we could scroll daily photos of the dogs and see how our guy was doing! Our dog can be slow to warm up but he did really well and we heard stories at check out of him playing with some new friends! I would definitely recommend this Resort to anyone with a dog they want to know will be in great hands! The add on features are great and the space was super clean. Also he came home smelling so good! Thanks Paws & Play! Will be back for sure.
We bring our dog here 1x/week to get him out of the house and with other dogs. He has loved it from the very first day and gets so excited any time my husband drops him off (and doesn’t like leaving when I get him haha). The staff is always so kind and you can tell they each truly love the dogs that go there. They know so many by the owners that pick them up and always say great things about our dog. They are a gem! We are sending our dog for boarding in April and had tons of questions and Tiffany answered each one and took her time to make sure I was comfortable knowing everything about how that side of their business works!
I left my dog for two days in boarding while I was out of state. When I picked up my dog he had a bloody lip and a cut. I called to ask what happened and staff was adamant that nothing happened and he was never in any altercation with other dogs at the facility. When I brought my dog to the vet, they stated that he was definitely cut by something.Upon finding out this information, the staff at paws and play stated that my dog must have done it to himself when he was groomed. Now, Id like to state that i have a very rough dog who doesnt know his own size and strength. I dont doubt that he probably cut himself on a crate or while he was being groomed. My issue is that this was never brought to my attention. They claimed they didnt notice the cut upon his departure. I believe they dont check the dogs before they leave, which is a huge issue because they dont stay with the dogs overnight. How can they be sure the dog is 100% okay?I have no ill will towards the staff or establishment, I just believe this was unprofessional. But, Im glad my dog is okay and that all it was was a small cut. This could have been avoided had someone just let me know about the cut. I hope they begin to keep owners informed and not just in the dark about their dogs.
I can not overstate how fantastic Paws and Play is! Our buddy Charlie goes there for daycare once a week and for boarding a few times a year. We hate when we have to travel without him, but we never worry about him because we know he is loved and cared for by the crew at Paws and Play. The staff is wonderful - sweet, caring and super capable. The operation is organized and professional. The staff clearly has the expertise and experience to safely handle the dogs they care for and the facility is the best in the area by far, immaculately clean with beautiful boarding rooms and fun play areas. I respect and appreciate that Paws and Play has strictly enforced rules (vaccinations, reservations, etc.) for the safety of all the dogs. Thanks to everyone at Paws and Play for giving Charlie such a great place to hang out!
Such a great place to room a puppy. Our dog is terrified of everyone and everything, but always does well when he is here!
We absolutely love Paws and Play. We’ve done overnight lodging and doggie daycare with them for our 3 year old black lab, and every time we drop her off, she’s excited and happy. For overnights, they send you home with a report card so you can see how your pup did, and their grooming services are top notch as well.
Paws & Play is a fantastic resort with top notch personnel. I am always hesitant to leave my dog w/ anyone b/c he gets very nervous. This resort really came through though and exceeded expectations. I want the people who watch my dog to care for him like he was their own and that was my experience here. Its a great comfort knowing theres a place I can rely on and trust.
My two young and extremely energetic Jack Russel Terriers have been happy customers at Paws and Play for almost four years. It truly is exceptional in every way! Bernie and Maverick attend full-day day care 2-3 times a week and board several times a year. The owner Matt, management staff Michele, Chrissy, Emma, Erica and all the staff love my boys and care for them as their own. They are all true professionals. They come home from day care happy and exhausted after a great day of socialization. They have lodged for up to 10 days at a time and loved every minute. Before I pick them up from lodging, they have a date with the groomer for a bath and nail clip if requested! I cant recommend Paws and Play more. Your pups will be loved and well cared for and you will have peace of mind! 5 stars for sure!!!
Above & Beyond ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Amazing service. Thank you so much to everyone and the entire team for all your great hard work and efforts to make princess & peach happy. My dogs are a handful sometimes, they’re high energy and the staff always welcomes me with a smile and provides me with feedback when I ask. We are able to enjoy vacations and day trips away and can rest assured knowing our dogs are happy and in good hands. Our fur babies love coming there! As a 6 day a week client, we are always thrilled when the dogs are picked up they’re happy and very well taken care of! I have been to other places and after being a client here, I’ll never go anywhere else. Thanks again for all your hard work. Our furry family will be expanding and we will be bringing our new puppy to be apart of the paws and play family 🐶🐾
I have been boarding my dog for many years at Paws and Play Pet Resort in Tuckahoe, NY. I am very grateful for them as we travel frequently and I can leave her knowing she is so well cared for. I have also left her there for day care. The clue that my pooch is happy there is that when we are ready to go I say we are going to Paws and Play and she starts wagging her tail in excitement! When we arrive she happily bounds into the door. Every person that works there is kind, courteous and gentle, which my dog needs as she is very fearful and nervous and can be a little difficult. Also important to me is that to stay there, your dog must be up to date on all inoculations. I highly recommend Paws and Play and would be lost without them!
Editing this review as of 10/11/2021. I cant tell you how truly wonderful the people are at Paws and Play. We had a very ill family member and needed to fly out cross country last minute. Unfortunately, our family member had passed and getting back to NY was going to be a challenge. The team worked hard and pulled a hail Mary in accommodating my dog last minute due to our emergency. I had peace of mind during this tough time my pooch was taken care of. They worked hard to make sure that I did not have to worry about my best friend while attending to a family emergency. I cant recommend them enough. They are amazing with our dog Parker. He loves it there and I feel good about leaving him there overnight.
My dog is thirteen years old and just one year ago the place he boarded from the timehe was a puppy was no longer available. In-home dog-sitting and bringing him along on family vacations were just not working out. Luckily, a neighbor with a “sensitive” younger dog recommended Paws and Play. My dog had his first four night stay there last week. Itexceeded my expectations. The staff isentirely dedicated to the dogs they have in care. My dog received required medication four times a day, received the meals that I packed for his stay, and by my paying for upgrades, had a larger area to stay with raised bedding and extra play sessions and potty breaks. Staff was open to my calling in for updateswhile I was away. He had an excellent and quick transition back to home life as well. I have already booked his next stay with Paws and Play and feel secure that I can rely on their excellent care for him in the future. Senior dogs need extra attention and Paws and Play is happy to provide that to its guests.
This place is perfect! The staff is friendly, efficient, and very helpful with scheduling. Theyve thought of everything to keep the dogs happy and healthy. They genuinely care for each and every pup that comes through the door and its immensely reassuring to see the attention they commit to understanding each dog and ensuring theyre all stimulated, safe, and well-exercised - they truly see the good in every animal! My dog is high-energy and cant be left alone, so its a huge relief to have found Paws and Play where they welcome him in each day with smiles... I dont know what wed do without them!
This place is great. My little rescue mixed breed puppy Hazel is always well cared for and loves going there when I need her to stay a few days. The staff is warm, caring and attentive and always happy to see her.
Great place. Our dog loves it there, always happy to be dropped off. Its really nice to go on a trip without your dog and know they are in good hands. Price structure is flexible too, which is nice, depending on how much fun time you want your dog to have during the day. Havent used them for the day care stuff, but they have that too.
Paw’s and Play has become my dog’s second home. I truly can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff is wonderful, they are extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. I always know that Toby is being loved and cared for whenever he is there. The facility is clean and the add-ons you can get for your dogs are very impressive (I get mine a bedtime story every night). If anyone is looking for a place to board their dogs or drop off for daycare I highly recommend Paw’s and Play!!!
I love Paws and Play and trust them completely with my two small dogs. Recently we had a wedding out of state and our pups needed four days of boarding. This was the first time they were left anywhere overnight. They were well taken care of and the staff are always available for any questions or concerns.
Our dog loves it there! The lovely girl I spoke to I think her name was Leana, helped us out so much and made our transition from Dogtopia seamless! Highly recommend!
We love Paws and Play! They take our dog on weekends that we are going to weddings, and she seems to have a great time. They post daily pictures from play time to their Facebook, so usually by 5 or 6 pm, you can see a picture of your smiling dog. The people here are very kind and welcoming. They gave me a full tour before our first time leaving the pup.
We love Paws and Play! We have gone to Paws and Play for doggie daycare and overnight boarding and my dog has come home happier than ever! The facility is very clean and has amazing perks for your pup. I think my dogs vacation to Paws and Play is nicer than my own! Would recommend to all!
I love Paws & Play! The staff is very friendly & they have been great with Autumn. She cant wait to go and play with the other dogs. The staff is top notch and very attentive to all the dogs. Not a better daycare around.
My dog goes to daycare at least once per week at P&P and has boarded there a few times. She is always excited to go, and comes home happy. The facility is clean and spacious. The staff is very professional and friendly. I trust them to take excellent care of my dog.
Our family could not be happier with Paws and Play. We have sent multiple dogs to them and both of them loved it. Each morning, our current dog, Teddy, cannot wait to run through the front doors when we pull up. The facilities are clean, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We signed Teddy up for one week of dog training; the trainer was wonderful and Teddy learned a number of skills (e.g., sit, stay, come, wait, etc.). The trainer also provided videos of all the skills Teddy learned and how to continue his training at home. We cannot be happier. Thank you Paws and Play!!!
Owner called me and personally cleared up my issue. Great attention to detail and wonderful customer service.
Hobbes LOVES his stays at Paws&Play! We cann see him playing and having a good time on the FaceBook page. He is so excited when we drop him off and so tired from running around when we pick him up. I wouldn’t use any other facility. The staff are super friendly and profession and I trust them with our dog.
This place has amazing dogs! And amazing people as well! They are very sweet and professional. The staff again they are absolutely amazing! They have as much energy as our fur babies do, LOL! Michelle the general manager addresses any concerns or questions you may have and she does take time out of her hectic busy schedule with all our fur babies to assist us. I have actually given people the information so that they may follow up and bring their fur babies too! My Zeus is spoiled and he’s just turning 5 months old and has been w them for a few weeks. The plus side is that when he comes home he’s tired from all the playing with both fur friends and care takers ;)
We love Paws & Play! Staff is very friendly & they have been great with my baby, who is not happy about the change in daycare /friends after we moved here. Miss Emma & staff have been very patient with her while she adjusted !
Researched a number of daycare options for my Labrador puppy in the area. Paws & Play, hands down, provides the most thoughtful/personalized/genuinely kind care for my little Alma. We’ve become regulars and she loves it there. I can focus on work during the week knowing Alma is in good hands with the friendly, trustworthy, experienced staff. Special shout-out to Emma, their trainer. Alma has noticeably improved with basic commands thanks to her training sessions.
From day one, they’ve given only the very best of care to our puppy, not only during the day, but during occasional overnight stays as well. Our puppy is always excited to go to Paws and Play, and the staff is happy to have him as well.
Always feel comfortable leaving our Weimaraner Blue at Paws and Play Pet Resort. He has fun with the other dogs and is well taken care of by a friendly and caring staff. Although for overnights, he does prefer a private suite at night - he is spoiled - but it is definitely worth the extra money! Thanks Paw & Play!
I am very grateful to have Paws and Play to depend on. I know my dog, Goldie, Is well cared for when she attends weekly doggie daycare. The facility is clean and bright. It feels like a very welcoming, happy place to bring your dog for socializing and exercise. Especially on a gray rainy day!
My corgi Ginger loves Paws and Play! She does daycare and as-needed boarding and always come home happy. Staff is warm and welcoming and clearly love dogs.
We were delighted to find this excellent facility, since our dogs previously had a horrible experience at a kennel in the Bronx, which left us unwilling to board our dogs for several years. However, when we learned of this pet hotel, we visited and found the staff extremely pleasant, the rooms where the dogs stay very clean and comfortable, and the play area well managed. The other dogs seemed happy and well cared for, so we gave it a try. The first stay (one week) went so well that we have now used Paws and Play five times and found it outstanding. Our only complaint is that the bath was not as thorough as wed like on the last visit and we ended up bathing one of our dogs again at home.
Great for socializing your pup. Mine is a little shy right now but everyday she gets better. A bit pricey but its nice to know your dog is being taken care of while your gone. You can also call and check up on your dog which is comforting.
Our dog is happy, healthy, and well cared for. He looks forward to “going to work” in the morning. He’s excited to get out of the car every time we pull in to park. The staff is great!
I sent my puppy for training for 10 days. the price was very good and she came back better behaved. Emma did a great job! Tiffany was very helpful with he whole process, and every time I called who eve answered the phone was very pleasant and helpful
I brought my puppy for training at Paws and Play Resort. The experience remains a nightmare for my family. I was so excited to leave my puppy for obedience training (my puppy had basic training already). She came home having learned absolutely nothing new! Coincidently, they called me the last morning of her stay (10th day) to inform me she had SOMEHOW developed Kennel Cough!!! I gave them the benefit of the doubt up until my Vets. office confirmed my dogs condition and further stated that the same facility seemed to be experiencing an outbreak of Kennel Cough. This information, on top of my pets condition, was indescribably painful to digest. Also, when I picked up my pet she was matted and omitting a body odor. Mind you, I had taken my pet to be groomed few days prior to dropping her off to be trained. I requested a refund and was informed that in order to be compensated a portion of the cost I would have to sign a contract forbidding me hold any discussion or write a negative review of the facility. Obviously, I did not sign the agreement. After declining to sign the contract, the owner of the facility became involved and eventually refunded the total cost of my pets stay. I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone...not even my worst enemy!!!
I tried two other doggy day cares before Paws and Play and really wish I found them first! I have an excitable 2 year old French Bulldog, Bacon, who started going to Paws and Play I believe when he was a bit under a year old. Bacon has a lot of energy, and besides spending hours at the dog park, Paws and Play is the only thing that really wears him out. Bacon LOVES to play with other dogs, so this facility is really a perfect fit for him. Bacon was a bit challenging to deal with when he was a puppy, and other day cares did not know how to make sure he expelled all his extra energy while staying safe; however, the staff and Paws and Play seems to enjoy his craziness and know just what to do with him. Weve had a few issues come up over the past year or so, but nothing that the management isnt willing to help solve, and thats all I really ask for. When I drop Bacon off at Paws and Play, whether for a day of playing or an extended stay, I know hell be safe and happy!
My 5 year old lab, Benson has been going to paws and play since he was a puppy! I found them when unexpected circumstances came up that left me in a tough spot to take care of Him during long days...lifesaver!4 years later...it’s his favorite place to go! The staff is amazing, he’s well socialized, and he comes home tired🙏 on the days he’s there!Highly recommend!
I left my 7 month old german shepard puppy here for 4 days while I went on vacation. Our puppy is a very shy, fearful dog but he accepted the staff with no problem. When I picked him up he seemed so happy and not stressed like he normally is when he is with strangers. He seemed to have really bonded with one of the employees. They posted regularly on facebook so we could see how he was spending his day. I really felt he was in good hands. The accomadations for each dog are quite spacious. They dont keep them locked up all day, they get out several times a day for walks and play time. This place is the best!! If you want a place to care for your dog the way you do, I recommend this place.
If your dropping of your dog overnight they will not allow bedding, toys or bones “for covid reasons”. Over priced for a sterile stay for your pet.EDIT 4/2/24: A simple Our policies have since changed would have sufficed. At the time I wrote my review (late 2022) you would not allow any items from home, and since were here, the items that I had sent from Amazon was back in 2018 (pre-covid) and when we came for pick up they were still in the packaging. So heres my long awaited updated review:If youre interested in a company where the owner will hound you for your negative review and then rebuttal by publishing your personal details on the internet, then I have no doubt youll thoroughly enjoy your pets mediocre stay at Paws & Play Pet Resort.
We were very nervous about dropping our six month old puppy for day care. Paws and play couldn’t be more welcoming and professional. They answered every question we had no matter how silly. Our pup was so happy and tired when we picked her up. We couldn’t recommend them enough!
We left Luna with Paws and Play for 10 days and she seemed happy and well cared for. What a relief to find a place we can trust! Weve had bad experiences else where and it adds to the stress of vacation.
The place is very clean and organized, I visited it pre COVID to see prior to sending my pup there. My pup just spent a few day time sessions there in order to help keep her social during this time. The staff was so nice to her, even though she didnt want to play with other dogs they kept her occupied the whole time. Good people, you definately get what you pay for here.
My rescue dog 1 year old Doberman/ Sheppard LOVES Paws and play! For me I needed a safe, clean and fun daycare facility to drop her off during the work week. Becky May always is eager to get inside and play with her four legged doggie and 2 legged human friends. I can not thank Matt the owner enough for opening up such a wonderful place. The hours of 7am - 7pm are amazing for working people. The front desk staff though they maybe young are respectful, knowledgeable and so loving of every dog that comes in. Shout outs to Jade, Amy, Amanda and Allison for always greeting me with a smile as well as by my first name. Becky May loves you! To the dog handlers there are so many to name. Alex, Jake and so many others. Sorry old age I am blanking out on everyones names :X Thank you for always being kind and eager to play with all the dogs that come through paws and play!If you are looking for a wonderful home away from home while on VACA or just a tired puppy after a long day of work. Paws and Play is for you! dont just trust my review go in and take a tour :)
Amazing group of people! Professional, kind caring, loving and sensitive to my Cocos needs! They made me feel like i had the cutest pup they had ever seen. Definitely bringing her back for more training and day care. Her trainer Emma was awesome!!! Thank you to everyone at PAWS and PLAY🥰
I booked my puggle puppy for a couple of overnight stays. They lost my dog when I handed the leash over to them and started to walk away to my car. Let me repeat- I handed my 10 pound pughle over to them. We found him 2 days later traumatized full of ticks. Horrible experience! What is also upsetting is the below response, it shows me that they didn’t and don’t take accountability. I called and inquired about daycare for 1 day and found out that they banned my dog. My question is Why? You were the one who couldn’t get a 10 pound puggle into your facility. You could have picked him up instead of trying to drag him. Isn’t this your profession to see and evaluate how to proceed with a dog. He was a 10 pound puppy for goodness sake. Just apologize. Btw if I agreed to have paws and play to pay for my vet bill I would have to sign a consent that I could not tell this story. I didn’t sign nor did they pay for Buddy’s vet bill.
Place is outstanding. Got a new puppy during coronavirus and was unable to socialize him properly. He was very reactive to people and dogs at a young age. Within 2 sessions of bringing my puppy for doggie day care he was a changed puppy. He was so much less nervous, and less reactive to people and dogs. He also learned how to properly take treats. He used to eat half my finger when he would take a treat and after a couple days at paws and play he became super gentle. I have 2 young children so this is very important for me. I was nervous I’d have a dog that was skiddish of people forever. But now this dog is turning out so good my wife my let me get another.
We were at our wits end with our 1.5 yr old female lab. She had way too much energy for us to handle on a daily basis. I was complaining to a friend about how much energy Charlie had and she suggested Paws and Play. Well, let me tell you, Paws and Play saved our life. We send Charlie almost every day for a full day and when she comes home, she is tired and well behaved. She gets so excited to go every morning. The staff is friendly and wonderful. We have also used their boarding and grooming services and have been very pleased with the care they give Charlie.
Hi Everyone,You MUST bring your doggie to Paws and Play! It is the best place!!! I have been bringing my 7-year old Rottie, Zombie, there since March of this year (I just adopted him in January) and we both LOVE it! They love my little boy like I do. He walks in and goes beyond the counter to get his morning love from all the staff. And they fawn over him with pets and kisses and butt scratches and cookies! :-) He gets to interact with people and dogs and play for the 12 hours that I am at work. You know that they say a bored dog is a destructive dog. He is sooo happy there - he is always smiling. They post pics of the dogs each day and they all look so happy and tired and they are playing with each other or a staff member. If you love your dog and want him to have an active social life and stay alert and healthy and social, Paw and Play is the place to be. My Zombie goes 5 days a week. He rushes me in the morning to get out of the house because he cant wait to get to daycare and he misses them on the weekends! You have to see how happy he is on Monday mornings when he sees everyone. They are just the nicest, friendliest, customer-service oriented, dog-loving people I ever met. You really need to bring your doggies here and let them have the time of their life :-)
My dog is not just my pet, he is part of my family. As Im sure many of you reading this review can relate to. When choosing a suitable place to tend to your dog, it can be an arduous task. Youve set a high bar for the quality and care your dog should receive and you want to be sure you will have peace of mind when you drop them off. Paws and Play goes above and beyond to provide a wonderful experience for you and your pet, from beginning to end. The list of clientele that have now become regulars is a perfect example of the client satisfaction I am speaking to. Whether youre looking for day care, lodging, grooming or training, Matt Sellechia and team have built a wonderful reputation in the village of Tuckahoe and its adjoining towns. I was so fond of the facilities and customer service, that I made sure to tell my brother; who has since used Paws and Play on numerous occasions with complete satisfaction. If youre concerned about the care youre pet will receive, you can stop worrying! Paws and Play is Best in Class.
My dog Bambi loves Paws and Play! She gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot. The staff is amazing too! Super friendly and professional.I have recommended them to several friends.
FACTS:Our 7-month-old beaglier stayed at Paws & Play for 3 nights in the beginning of October 2021. We chose for her the Puppy Package (Under 1yr) which is advertised as containing:2 activity or pampering sessions3 extra business walksA gourmet treatBedtime tuck-inThe total charge for her stay came to $300+.Since this was the very first time our puppy was separated from us my wife and I very much wanted to take a tour of the premises and facilities before committing to Jasmines stay. We were strictly refused (the reason given - COVID-19 regulations”) and referred to the virtual tour on P&Ps website.Citing COVID-19 regulations” again, P&P refused to accept Jasmine’s bed and toys and promised they will “provide their own”.They did accept our dog’s dry food (a lot more provided than needed for 3 days), treats and dental chews. All the communication and business with P&P was done only on the phone and in front of the entrance door of the business in Tuckahoe, NY.After some hesitation, we decided to go ahead, based on the professional staff phone demeanor, the overall positive online reviews and the virtual tour which shows enticing aspects of bourgeois luxury awaiting the canine customer.(One thing that confused and worried me was the remark from an employee on the phone that after 9:30pm there is not a single person on the premises - the exact words given as explanation were ”we have found out that the dogs feel calmer that way.)We picked up our dog on a Sunday afternoon (October 3, 2021). The puppy was returned but the remainder of the supplies we left (about $40 worth) was not.Upon arrival at home we had to immediately give the dog a bath because she smelled of urine and her fur was full of brown flakes that smelled like excrement.COMMENTSThe comment section of this review can best be completed as a series of questions - which I am confident will remain without answers. What kind of business is really Pets & Paws? What is happening inside that the owner/management dont want you to see under the pretext of COVID measures at a time when every business in New York is open and some dont even require masks for customer entry?Does P&P run a sideline business of resale of food and dog supplies it forgot to return to clients? What is P&P plan of handling a health emergency that a dog under their care has in the middle of the night, given the absence of humans on the premises? How minuscule are the private spaces that dogs sleep in so that a well potty-trained puppy as ours comes home covered in urine and feces?Could it be that the photographs and virtual tour online are completely fake and that dogs actually sleep in carton boxes picked up from the trash of a nearby CVS?Based on the questions without answers above we will never again use Pets & Paws again.A bonus question:What is a “business walk” - based on the copy in her “puppy package” our dog must have gotten at least 6 of those? Are dogs introduced to basic principles of accounting and multi-tier marketing?UPDATE:Two days after I posted this review (on Facebook, Yelp and here) a manager from Paws & Play called me to talk about my bad experience. She swore to me that the virtual walk-around tour on the website shows their actual premises indeed and that they have nothing to hide; the sole reason for people not admitted in having been COVID precautions. She apologized profusely for my dog smelling of urine and having traces of feces upon pick-up. She said something to the effect that this is “highly unusual” and that if an accident of the sort happens - the staff bathe the dog in question; thus, in her words—in my dog’s case that must have happened immediately before pick-up. (Note: nobody said anything at pick-up.)Th manager (she introduced herself as Michelle, if I am not mistaken) didn’t mention the missing/unreturned supplies and I didn’t bring that up. She expressed hope that we “will give Paws & Play a second chance.”I replied: “Definitely not”.
P&P has been a go-to day and overnight care for my beloved rottie for the last two and a half years. He is always pleasantly welcomed, the staff treats him like hes their own, the venue is always neat and clean, and the breadth of services are smartly focused on the pup and owner alike. P&P is all-around awesome!
I suddenly needed to board my dog after a tree fell in our house in a storm. I was stressed and frazzled, and it just so happened that my dog was on several medications at the time. The Paws & Play staff were patient with my disorganized self, professional and compassionate. They took care to make sure they had all of Coco’s meds & instructions clear, and they were incredibly kind. Their love for the dogs and care for their clients is obvious.
Honestly, I think the review by Carol is completely unfair. I have had no problems with this facility ever since I started bringing my 18 month old Chocolate Labrador, Major, to it back in August 2012. At the time he was just a puppy when we first started to bring him there. When we first went there to receive our tour we were also denied to go out back to see them play but thats because of liability, they cant risk a dog possibly hurting somebody on a tour. There is a logical reason as to why! We completely understood and they happily showed us the rest of the facility. We got to go into what they call their suits and were even able to see the other rooms through the windows on the doors. There was absolutely no problem with the way it was set up in my opinion. In no way was it institutional as put by Carol. At least my Mother and I didnt think it was. We felt it was a safe and proper way to handle so many dogs at once. They only stay there to rest since most of the time they are out playing from what we were told and we know that for a fact because of how exhausted our dog is when he gets home at night!!! We were even able to watch our dog play a few times through the huge window which is conveniently in the lobby when all the dogs were in there once. Our dog loves Paws and Play so much that he starts to bark at 1:00 pm because he knows its time to leave and see all of his doggie friends! This facility is amazing and it is very unfair to write such a bad review without even giving the place a chance. From what it seems like by this unhappy review, you werent even a customer yet. Well let me say that AS A CUSTOMER I throughly enjoy this facility and its kind staff.
My dog seemed happy to go the second time she stayed there. The only drawback is that she now barks more than before. I think that’s the issue with most kennels. Thought the base fee is competitive, I don’t like that you MUST pick an activity package. If I can’t find a dog sitter, I trust this place to give my dog the right care. But the price is just a little to much.
My dog Murph is a disaster but we love him or at least the family does too much to get rid of him. Our problem was we could never go ANYWHERE because the dog couldnt be trusted alone and hes to much for anyone to handle. I was beside myself with what to do. Thank you paws and play for being a trusted local spot my wife and kids feel comfortable with. Keep up the good work you guys are a live saver.
My Pitbull mix who is very high energy enjoyed his stayed! He didn’t seem to want to leave after his 9 day stay. He came home to us just perfect the way we dropped him off. A very positive experience (3rd time).
Friendly, helpful staff. Love taking my pitbull there. Petsmart wont let her play with other dogs solely because she is a pitbull, that is her favorite pass time. Here they see who she is and what she likes first before passing judgment. Thank you!! Love love love!!!
Our young mini-golden doodle, Tilly, spent 11 days at Paws and Play while our family went on vacation. Tilly had several days of training with Emma, a total pro; we will follow up with Emma’s suggestions going forward. Overall, the Paws and Play staff is caring and communicative, and although our Tilly cant speak for herself, she seemed happy when we picked her up.
My dog had a great time. She was there for a full day care day when we came to town for a family reunion.Nala was happy and liked the staff. They took their time getting her with dogs she got along with.Ty so much!!Will definitely come again :)
Probably the best thing i have come across while googling. Jax, my 9 month old Rottweiler has been at paws & play for 3 months now & I can confidently say, not only do I trust them with my dog but they are very professional & make it fun & safe for all pets. Highly recommend.
Our dog LOVES it here. We do both boarding and daycare and are very happy with both. The staff seems to genuinely care about the dogs.
My dog, Tesla, loves to spend time at Paws and Play. She loves the attention from all the staff and she really loves playing with her dog buddies. I love picking her up after a few days of boarding and a bath. She is so soft and cuddly.
My dog, Brownie, and I have been regular clients at Paws and Play since they opened in Sept. 2011 and we remain extremely satisfied with our experiences there. When we first moved to NY, I took the time and researched over 10+ dog facilities in the NY/NJ/CT region. I found Paws/Play to be well maintained and clean, good size and layout for indoor/outdoor play rooms, financially reasonable, convenient location, friendly/accommodating/knowledgeable staff and overall the best fit for my dog and I. They do a great job with posting pictures of the daycare doggies on Facebook just about every afternoon. So you can see right away your doggie having a blast with their daycare friends. Over half of my Iphone photo album pictures are ones the Paws and Play staff took and posted. Daycare is a great way for your furry friend to socialize, have fun and get some good exercise. Remember a tired dog is a good dog. We have also used the lodging option quite often and I am happy to say that my dog, Brownie, has always come back very happy and wiggly after her vacation days when lodging there. They also do a good job with fun holiday activities and pictures for their doggie clients such as: Halloween, Christmas Santa pictures, Valentines Day, Super Bowl, etc. Overall, you have to find the right fit for you and your dog, but I strongly believe in giving Paws and Play a try by taking their facility tour and even talking with regulars in the parking lot.
Just recently took my dog there for an evaluation and the entire experience was great. The nice young lady at the front desk with tattoos was very respectful and helpful with making sure my dog was comfortable. Highly recommend!!
My dog Moses has been a regular boarding visitor to this facility for 13 years. Hes a lab and is now old and slow moving. Notwithstanding the fact that he has been a premium price boarder for all those years, the management of this facility has requested that he is no longer welcome due to his declining physical condition. Hes not sick, just slow moving and it seems unfortunate that the staff can not devote just a little extra time to his care. At home, he climbs up and down 26 steps twice a day. SHAME ON YOU ALL. Beware if your dog is aging if you want to continue to use this facility. Theyve become complacent and uncaring as their success grows.
I did NOT have a favorable experience. I brought my 2 year old moyen poodle, Dandi, 31 pounds for eval and found I was not given an opportunity to see the dogs Dandi would associate with or see Dandi interact with them. They did show me the facility, but I was not ALLOWED to view the dogs playing in the yard. I saw only empty rooms and a room with large dogs locked in cages barking and clawing at the doors of their small cages. Overall, the place felt institutional. In fairness to the facility, Dandi is a bit shy, and it would take him time to get adjusted, but he was not at all happy with what he heard and the anticipation of what would accompany all those loud barking sounds.I did not feel comfortable leaving him with the staff, all VERY YOUNG, no adults were there for his few hour evaluation. All staff were polite but seemed to be in their 20s and not particularly sensitive to an older person such as myself and my concerns about my Dandi who has never been to a day care before.Due to their policy of just drop him off with no opportunity to observe his initial interaction with others left me feeling very uneasy and with no confidence in his safety in being left in their care.I will pursue private care for Dandi where someone in their private home may be willing to care for him on the occasions I need that service. One young man did say that Paws and Play is not for everyone and that was certainly an accurate statement.
Ive been using Paws and Play for about 6 years. Theyve always treated Leia well. The staff is friendly and professional. Not that I dont worry about Leia when Im away but knowing she is in good hands makes me worry a lot less. Thank you, Paws and Play.
My 5 month old puppy LOVES paws and play. She has a great time the staff is so lovely and helpful. Overall an amazing experience everytime!
Very cool pet store in Old Town. We buy all our treats and dog food here for our 2 girls. These guys do some pretty cool stuff, too. This Halloween, we had an awesome time at the trick treat for dogs event they hosted around old town. For as long as we live in Arvada this is our spot.
Have been here 3 times for boarding and just started my pup in daycare. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and I can tell she is in good hands here.
The only reason Im even giving it 2 stars is because the facility is decent. Took my golden retriever here for a 2 week stay. He got kennel cough and they wanted nothing do do with him, even though he caught it under their care. Very unprofessional in how they handled it and rude with certain aspects of the situation. Will not be returning and do not recommend this facility to anyone.
Paws and Play is Great! We bring our dog Theo there all the time and he absolutely loves it. They treat him like he’s one of their own.
My dog came back happy, healthy, and full of life. Very pleased. I have complete confidence when I leave my pet in their hands. Recommend fully and without reservation.
This daycare is not what many think it is. The managers, they are extremely unprofessional. The owner also has no interaction with the employees or the customers. There is very unfair treatment of staff and management is very controlling. This is not a facility you want to send your dog to!
Seems ok for daycare and boarding, but the unwillingness to let prospective clients tour the outside area is not confidence inspiring. The absence of web-enabled cameras is also disappointing.
Our Dog , Pepper loves going here and the staff is always happy to see him. They are friendly and caring and Pepper is aways returned to us in good spirits.
Pepper absolutely loves going to daycare here, and the staff clearly care about forming relationships with the dogs who they care for. I felt safe leaving Pepper here to board with the 5 day Train and Play while my wife gave birth.
Gunner has been going here for 11 years. He loves it! The staff is amazing, friendly and always accommodating. So happy to find this place, highly recommended.
We just boarded our dog Beckett for the first time with Paws n Play. He was well taken care of. I would definitely recommend Paws n Play to everyone !
Went for a tour today after booking it for my dog while we are on vacation during the 1st week of April. Appears to be a really good place. Will update review once we get back
I was nervous about boarding my dog for the first time, but she had a great time and was happy when I picked her up. Highly recommend Paws & Play!
The staff is wonderful and so nice! They take great care of our little girl & she loves her days here. Highly recommend!
We absolutely love this facility! Ive noticed such a positive change in my baby boy after coming here over the past year. The staff is really patient and kind to him. I could not recommend it enough!
The staff and facilities at Paws and Play are amazing! My dog loves going and I can relax knowing she is in such good hands!
Whenever work gets involved or surprise vacations, Paws & Play is my only go to spot and I recommend it for anyone who has a pet and want the best proper care, training etc give them a call! Lux & I thank and love you guys!
Paws and Play were professional and kind to our yorky. It was a last minute decision due to unforeseen circumstances and it was the best decision we made. The staff gave us updates every day and made her feel like part of the family.I will definitely be usung Paws and Play again and would recommend them to friends and family.
The staff is SO amazing, the place is so clean and our dog has the most incredible experience each time she goes!! Super trustworthy and Just the best!! Highly recommend!!
Fantastic Company, great team, my dog Dixie cant wait to get in and play and is completely exhausted when she leaves. I couldnt be happier using Paws & Play Doggie Day Care!!
Great facility for boarding and daycare. We love the staff, especially Darnell!
They take great care of our dog, she loves it when we bring her there, you can tell she is happy and comfortable with the staff.
I always feel good when dropping off my pet knowing that he will be left in good hands. The staff is warm, friendly and highly unreliable.
We always have the best experience at P&P! Luna is a huge fan. Thank you all for what you do.
Weve been loyal customers of Paws and Play for years, relying on them for both our weekly day care needs and longer stays. The staff goes above and beyond in their care for both dogs and their owners, taking the time to truly understand each pets individual needs. Their attention to detail shines through in fun events like pictures with Santa, where they’ve captured some of our favorite memories with our furry companions. Its heartwarming to see how excited our dog is for his weekly day care sessions – he eagerly awaits the moment I reach for my coat after breakfast, ready to head out the front door and off to doggie daycare and happily greets everyone when we walk in the door. The entire team, from the staff to the owner, consistently delivers exceptional service. We cant sing their praises enough!
Everyone is so friendly and caring. My dogs are always excited when we pull up and realize they are having a play day.
This is a professionally run facility. I have used it for my German Shepherd for more than four years. I strongly recommend them.
Best pup place ever our pup can’t wait to get out of the car and into playing with friends all day at paws n play!!!!!
Paws n Play is the absolute best. Oatmeal loves it there, and we love it there too.
This is the place where our Remy is totally happy-he loves loves all of the staff and his friends here -whether it’s overnight or daycare-Paws and Play is his paradise
The place was clean. The price was right. The staff and service was exceptional. We will only continue to use Paws and Play!
My dogs are always very happy to visit P&P. The staff are fantastic.
Love Paws & Play for making me so comfortable leaving my doggy pal in their competent and caring hands!
My dog literally came back better than when we dropped him off. Friendly great staff too.
Always a pleasure to come here. My dog loves the place - walks off before I can say bye 😁 A bit pricey but always worth it.
Fantastic doggie day care and extended stay care! Friendly and professional staff! All around awesome place!
Best pet care place In the 5 boroughs! Our pupper loves Paws!
Awesome service... Very knowledgeable staff. I was extremely impressed with what our Sophie learned in such a small time.
Very good customer service and my dog Roxy seemed very happy Will definitely use them again
My dog has never had a problem boarding at Paws and Play :)
Wonderful service, great staff. The only place my dog has ever felt comfortable at.
Super great place! The staff is awesome! And they really love their guests, LOL!
Great experience. Super clean and well-maintained, and everyone there really seems to love the animals.
Very clean and organized..staff seems to care for the pets very well. I would definitely recommend them.
We adore Paws and Play! They take such good care of our pup during the doggie daycare sessions. He is always so excited to get in the car to spend the day with his friends. I feel great knowing hes getting the chance to run around and is being watched over by such caring and friendly handlers. We did use the boarding services once, and it was such a relief to know he was being well taken care of. We always recommend this place, and were so thankful we found it!
Paws and Play has been part of our family since it opened. Our current pet has been going to the day care, and while away we board her there knowing she is treated with love and respect. We have recommended Paws and Play to all of our family and friends who agree that Paws and Play are wonderful. The staff under the leadership of Matt and Michelle continually render the best care around! The experience while boarding our pet is priceless. We know she is safe and secure.
Great Service all of the dogs always look so happy, my 3 dogs were delited to be there and the staff are absolutely great!! Highly recomended!!
Dexter seemed happy when he got home. Staff is very friendly.
In every way, my dogs over the years have prospered and matured socially because of Paws & Play
Called to make a reservation spoke to Chrissy she was very professionally
My dog loves this place. The staff are caring, friendly, and attentive.
Great service. They really show care for your dog😊
Ryuu loves going to dog camp or boarding. He comes home exhausted.
Amazing- they take great care of your furry family member!
I have tried several places and this is by far the best one around! I took my dog Bernard here and they were the best!
Our puppy Gasper has gone to P&P about 3 timesSo far and when I pick him up he is happy to see me but also sad to leave. He actually was crying in the car when we pulled out yesterday!I think that’s a good sign that he had fun.
Passionate and love the staff they did everything right for my dog.
Our dog AND our family adore the staff at Paws and Play. They are professional, kind, and understanding of both their canine and human clients! Our 6 mo old poodle puppy Leon, just loves being at Paws and Play for regular weekly and training -- he races in the door! We recently tried boarding as well, due to a family emergency and it couldnt have gone more smoothly. I dont know what we would do without Paws and Play!
We were very disappointed in our recent experience at Paws and Play. We started with getting our dog acclimated and dropped him off twice for the day to hang out and get used to the environment before dropping him off overnight. It was explained to us that pictures would be posted of him playing. Neither of the two times he was there during the day were there photos of him provided to us. We were reassured when we dropped him off over night that they would post a picture at least one of the days he was there with them. Yet again there was no photo! I understand there is no live video feed to watch however there should still be some sort of photo/video provided of each dog. We were told that “there are so many dogs and if they are busy they do not get a chance to take photos of every dog that is there.” If there are too many dogs and you are too busy that is a problem. Immediately makes me think maybe they kept him in his crate all day. They also made us buy an extra package when he stayed overnight which is silly ... what if he doesn’t need more than three walks?? I should not have to buy additional anything. Who even knows if they did walk him extra! They also never inquired about his feeding schedule and/or wrote anything down when we booked his stay. They were confused when we told them he gets fed three times a day... he is a puppy. When we picked him up finally. They lost his collar and leash. They tried to say he was dropped off without a collar or leash... they shouldn’t even be taking dogs in without a collar. We returned back to let them know we do not have the leash or collar at home and they apologized since they did have it. Will definitely not be returning. Did not make us feel like our pup was taken care of or in good hands.
I love the place because They’re nice and friendly and Mimi came home happy
The staff really gives their all to your dogs. They love them as their own
Our pup has been going to P+P since he was a wee little one. Now he is two and still loves going there for play time or when we need a weekend away. He barks and gets all worked up as soon as we pull into the parking. He knows where he’s going! Thank you for taking good care of our boy - we don’t trust anyone else with him!
Our puppy had his first experience with Paws N Play a few weeks ago. The entire staff is very hands on and made the transition for all of us easy. Our dog has a good time and slowly theyre helping him towards feeling comfortable with other dogs.
My dog Riley absolutely adores this place. He literally walks full speed to the door to go and have a full day of play. I know he is in great hands with the staff when I leave him and that, to me, gives me great relief. Thank you, Paws and Play! ❤️
My dog used to love coming here, but the staff turnover is high (complete changeover in under a year, despite same ownership). Several of the new staff have clearly never taken care of dogs and receive minimal training in how to do so. When my dog got sick, he understandably was not allowed to return until he was no longer contagious, but we received conflicting information about when exactly hed be allowed back - someone told us it would be a month after his two week course of antibiotics! Given that my wife and I both work in the city, we rely heavily on daycare during the week. Now, Im not saying they put us out in this case, but we asked the owner directly if he had any contacts for temporary dog walking in our area and he never got back to us; not even to let us know that he didnt know of anyone. My dog has also come home soaked. Now in the summer I know they play in the sprinklers outside, but in the winter? Ive saved the worst for last: my dog came home covered in poop multiple times. We spoke to them (again, including directly to the owner) about it and they reassured us they would handle it, but it happened again nonetheless. While my dog used to show up in their daily Facebook photos at least here and there, he never showed up again in pictures with his play group. I dont know whether they just locked him in a cage all day, but this certainly shows a level of neglect that does not justify either the price or the purpose of daycare. If I wanted my dog covered in poop I would have left him at home all day.
First i can tell everyone there love pets the way they speak on the phone until i met the staff i felt a big relief leaving my Eddie in good hands. Everyone loved my dig right away and he got a great report card. When I left my dog in another boarding place my dog was not the same i fwlt he didnt get any attention. But Eddie came home happy and a little mature haha. But i will highly recommend and i will leave Eddie again. Love the town and the area. Thank You from the bottom of my heart for taking care of my little Eddie great staff. Thank you all. Mayra
Absolutely fantastic establishment! My dogs love it there!!
These guys are so great. This is the only place well send our dog Reggie. She always comes home happy and the staff always gush about her and say what a treat she was to have. Very trustworthy people and a great service.
Paws & Play is a great place to bring your pet. My dog Milo, who was a puggle with LOTS of energy absolutely had the time of his life every day he went to daycare. In fact, he learned the word friends & would always get so happy any time I told him he was going to see his friends. At first I was nervous to bring him because of how energetic he was & as any dog mom would feel, I wanted my pup to have the best day ever. Whats funny is that during his first week of going, we got a call saying that they had to move him to the big dog area. Now, Milo was a 40 pound energetic & loving puggle so I was confused as to why, but he played better with the bigger dogs. Plus they loved him too! He was always being chased around or better yet, sleeping on what I liked to call his throne with his pals. The workers of Paws & Play are also amazing people. They are so kind & generous, you cant help but smile when you see them. They also LOVED Milo & even taught him some new tricks that he would show off at home. Unfortunately, we lost Milo this year & it had been truly ruff. Matt & his workers at Paws & Play were nothing but supportive & comforting. They felt the pain that we felt. Daycare was Milos own kingdom. He literally had the most fun with his friends whether he was there for the day or overnight. If he was happy, then I was happy. So if you are thinking of sending your dog to Paws & Play, do it. You dog with love it & create his/her own family to share with you at the end of any day they walk through those doors.Thank you Matt & the team at Paws & Play for an amazing experience with Milo. You taught him so much & helped him be the most loving & best dog he can be. I am sure he is there with you every day running around & of course doing what he did best, smiling from ear to ear. He will always be in our hearts.
Chewie had a ball when he slept over at PnP! It was so cute how they gave us a little report card of what he did. It’s definitely 5 stars for service. Only caveat is that’s it’s a little pricey.
My family and I have moved quite a few times with Milo, our 3 year old lab mix. Shes probably been to a dozen daycare facilities and is very social. Paws and Play is the ultimate pet facility. Were two years in and very happy with what they offer and how they offer it.Of course for the dog its about a safe, fun, entertaining day of play. Or for boarding, as we do occasionally, its about feeling home away from home. She is happy, healthy, and spirited every time she comes home. We know the staff takes great care of her and they always tell us about what shes been up to and who she likes to play with. But theres more to it than just what they do for your dog. As Milos owners, we want to feel like she is well cared for and entertained all day long. We also want to feel like its a good value and a manageable routine for everybody in the family. And theyve never let us down.Paws and Play is fastidious about how they integrate all the dogs. With several handlers on site at all times and multiple areas for play (indoor & outdoor), they find a rhythm in each day to make sure the dogs are playing well. When we first walked into Paws and Play, we were given a tour and explanation of how they onboard the dog. The place is state-of-the-art but also really smart. There are appropriate toys and ample water and rest opportunities. If you stand in the lobby around 6pm on weekdays, you can see first-hand how happy all the dogs are that come prancing out from the play area.We recommend Paws and Play to anyone interested in regular daycare or boarding, occasional daycare or boarding, or anything in between. They deliver on their promise and will impress you with their handling skills and facility. We love the report cards Milo gets, the pictures with Santa and other fun festivities, and all the photos online that show our dog in action. But, at the end of the day, whats really important is the human interaction at drop off and pick-up so that we can understand our dog, her behavior, and what works well and less well. Paws and Play is transparent, communicative, and forthcoming about if Milo has a tired/bad day. We trust them, appreciate the sincerity with which they care for our dog, and we have no idea what wed do without them.Do your dog a favor and let him try it out! Ask for a tour and see for yourself.
My dog has been there twice, he loves to stay there and doesnt want to come back home, however he got kennel cough both times. Everyone is very nice and friendly!
I usually leave my dog in here for day care. Over christmas, we left him for 10 days for boarding while we were away. The day after we picked him up he was coughing, deep hacking coughs almost like he was choking. Brought him to the vet and the vet diagnosed him with kennel cough. He has never ever got it before and this was the first time ever we had him boarding. Very disappointed, especially when your paying such high prices you dont expect to have to pay more at the vets to fix soemthing he picked at he paws and play location.
Clean, orderly, professional & they LOVE my dog!
Abbey loves her friends at Paws and play.
