TLDR: Horrible communication, delivers defective products, and hasnt delivered products I paid for.I got a puppy and measured him for a harness, he was smack dab in the middle of small. So I entered his dimensions and ordered a small harness. When it came it was way too big and could not be adjusted small enough to fit him. I emailed USA Dog Shop ... zero reply.Inevitably he chewed through the harness because it was way too big. I paid my $15 for a replacement (this is a nice feature!) and ordered a second harness at full price to go with it. I ordered the second (medium) harness because I wanted it shipped ASAP so I wouldnt be without a harness for my dog. I sent my original chewed harness back that day. It took 10 days to receive the medium harness, and it has been three weeks and still no replacement harness. I contacted the dog shop again, no reply.The medium harness that arrived is built wrong and has an extra twist in it and rubs on my dogs shoulder. Needless to say he hates this harness now. I have again emailed the dog shop, sent them pictures, and used their contact us form, still no reply.In summary I would not recommend purchasing from them. There are other harnesses with the same features from companies who offer better customer service and deliver the products people have paid for.

This is my third Freedom No Pull Harness that I have ordered from this company. Jessica and her husband are always so helpful. I love the fact that they help you with measuring your dog to get the correct fit. They send the harness already adjusted for your dog’s size, which helps a lot! I thought my recent harness was too big, so both Jessica and her husband were on the phone with me to see if the harness needed adjusting. They had me text them pictures so they could see exactly how the harness fit on my dog. Even when I placed my order online, they contacted me because they thought the harness was not the right size for my dog and they wanted to make sure I was getting the correct fit for her. They both went above and beyond. I can’t say enough about the excellent customer service they provided.

My husband was lucky that he came into the USA DOG SHOP with me or else I would have maxed out our credit cards. We purchased a flawless fleece lined, water-resistant, custom jacket made by Jessica (the owner). It transforms at the neck to shorten or extend for winter weather. Jessica even made a hole for a harness and flaps that hug our dog’s hind legs, but still avoids her butt and tail. Jessica thought of everything - and has made me wish Google would offer more than five stars on a review. I don’t live near Tuxedo, but I will definitely return for this pet shop!

Love the freedom no pull harness!! We bought our first one four years ago. It is still in perfect shape and our go to harness. Just ordered a couple more for the new puppies. The harnesses work perfectly and are very comfortable for our fur babies. I recommend these to everyone!

Fantastic shop, fantastic harness and Jessica is a fantastic owner. We purchased Jessicas Freedom No Pull harness for our Labrador Ruby. Our dogs walk were instantly transformed from a pull to a walk, stopping and turning on command with only a small amount of effort. We are lucky enough to live 45 minutes south of Jessicas shop so we were able to drive up to have our girl properly fitted. I only recommend shops or services that I would constantly visit and USA Dog Shop is one of them. Jessica in no way tried to sell us anything at all so there were no sales pressure techniques. She spent at least a good hour working with us and we so appreciate that. Please consider visiting her shop if purchasing her harness even if its a drive for you, its worth the time and proper fitting. The store itself is fantastic, super clean and has a wonderful feel to it. The store feels more like a antique shop than typical pet shop. I also purchased some really unique toys for our dog. Its also a small business and I prefer to shop small businesses that know their products well. Oh, we also felt her harness works so well that we purchased a second one as a backup in case the first harness gets chewed. :)

Fantastic experience with USA Dog Shop. Jessica went out of her way to ensure I received the correct size of harness for my dog. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the importance of getting the correct size. My dog trainer recommended the Freedom No Pull Harness. I was amazed. I had a great experience with Jessica. I had ordered a harness and before she shipped it she called to talk me through measurements and adjustments. We had one at home already we thought was too big but she walked me through adjusting it properly. Seriously incredible customer service. And we love the harness for our crazy lovable border collie.

What a great experience. Wed been searching for coats to fit our corgi mixes for quite some time. Jessica was very helpful and thorough in spending time with us and making sure the coats fit properly (something so few coats out there actually do). The customer service here is amazing!I bought a XL harness for my pup online. I used it for a little while & then thought it was too large. I then placed an order for a L harness online. The owner (Jessica) called me. I missed her call & then her husband called me the next day. He took the time to look at pictures of my dog with his harness on and explain to me (at 9pm in the evening) how to properly size and use the harness I had already purchased. I in fact did not need a smaller size!I was extremely grateful they took the time to educate me as most businesses nowadays wouldnt even bother to call or provide this level of personal customer service.I cannot recommend the harness & this business enough! They truly care about dogs and their products!

BUYER BEWARE!!!!I LOVED THIS STORE, until now ! Winter is coming and my senior dog needed a jacket of some sort to keep him warm. As his fur is not the same thickness it once was. I fit my dogs normally in EVERYTHING USA Dog has to offer. I was not met with the same customer service, I normally experience spending 100s of dollars in the store yearly. Why you ask? Well I regretfully didnt bring him with me and trusted JESSICA, ( the owners advice) and the jacket I brought home for him did not fit him. He wore this coat maybe 1 hour, when the belt that goes around his body would not stay on. When I brought it back to return it I was met with a policy that is not posted anywhere and nastiness. The customer service went out the window. Jessica refused to take the jacket back, claimed it was dirty and used ( it had some dog hair on it from me trying to make it work for him since it was OVER $100. Even though I was not asking to return my entire order ( I got my second dog a jacket as well) Jessica refused to make right on my purchase, telling me I can have over 100 dollars in treats or a store credit or and exchange for an even more expensive jacket... I dont need any of that I need a jacket that is going to fit him & my money back. this was a very unfortunate experience for me from this store.So before you go in and spend 100s like me make sure you supporting someone who doesnt only support taking your money, but also giving it back when somethings not right.

An incredible experience. We brought our babies in for some new harnesses and leashed today because we were told by a family friend that we should shop and this wonderful family pet shop. She was right, the reason I say family pet shop is because the minute you walk in Jessica makes you feel right at home and as if your fur babies are her fur babies. So we picked up two of each, marine dog leash, Jessica’s patented designed Hound Dog harness and cycle dog collars. Amazing how she guided us to come to an amazing informed decision on what to outfit our two little ladies Petra and Snow with this great ensamble. Great service & great product! I ordered the Freedom No pull dog harness for my Airedale that I was going to take to puppy class. I also got the 4 configuration leash. First of all I always shop Made in the USA first....and I found it here. So that is bonus #1. Both products are made of high quality materials. And I received my order within a few days. I tried it out throughout puppy class and I love it! I looked around class and mine was by far the best quality product. The trainer even asked where I got it because she hadnt seen a leash like mine. I love the versatility of the leash. USA dog shop even pre-sized the harness to the measurements that I provided when I ordered. Thank you thank you for such a great product! And especially that it is Made in the USA...that is very very important to me. I would strongly recommend them to everyone. I will be shopping there again for sure! Awesome customer service. When I ordered my first harness in October I paid for upgraded shipping but when I was tracking our package the delivery date kept getting delayed and was not going to come within the window for priority shipping. I called and I got a call back very quickly and Jessica shipped us a harness that day express for free and refunded what I paid for priority. Fast forward to now, and our dog broke a harness buckle playing outside on a rope. Jessica called me back the next day and sent us a replacement.

Amazing and super adorable pet store for dogs! They even have some cat supplies which I wasn’t expecting but super adorable! Jessica, the owner, is so sweet and helped so much with how to use our new no pull harness and leash! She answered all our questions about anything and everything from treats to bones and the harness! She’s so sweet and even gave us an extra 10% off for visiting her store! Super product! Super customer service.Our vet recommended the Freedom Harness for one of our dogs.I ordered one after doing the appropriate measurements.It quickly arrived. And included a note saying the harness had already been adjusted to fit our dog! Wow. Tried it on Cory. He accepted it with no issues. And it does the job! All it takes is a tiny amount of pressure on the leash and he pulls right back into place.Couldnt be happier. Highly recommend!

I love this shop. I discovered the shop in early 2013. I wish I knew about it way before then. The owners are very friendly & welcoming. You can tell they love animals just like their customers. I went over the holidays & bought a Silver Planet Diamond Plate ball which came highly recommend by Allen. I have to say my dog has not made a dent into the ball. It has been more than a month. That is a record in my house ! Just for the time they take out to chat with their customers makes you want to come back. I am planning on bringing my dog in to be fitted for the no-pull harness on my next visit !

We love our new Freedom Harness and leash! Our trainer in San Diego recommended them and it makes such a difference on our walks. If you supply your dog’s measurements, Jessica will send the harness to you fitted perfectly. A game changer!!!!!

If I could give a ZERO star review I would. SO very disappointed with this company and their customer service. We ordered a harness for our dog who chewed through it in less than 5 minutes. I paid the $6.99 shipping to cover the warranty replacement and mailed the damaged harness back to them. 2 months later I had not gotten ANY reply. I emailed and was told I needed to send the harness back. I replied that I did in August. After another 2 months I emailed again asking for a refund and I let them know Id be reaching out to my credit card company. Minutes later I got a phone call from a woman, who I would guess is the owner of the company and she basically yelled at me for nearly 15 minutes, telling me this was my fault.I wasted the money on the purchase to get an inferior product followed up by inferior customer support. In my opinion I should have been refunded the full amount of the purchase, plus the $6.99 (she did refund the $6.99) or she should have just mailed out a new harness to us.We will not be purchasing ANYTHING in the future from this company. This was without a doubt the worst customer service response Ive ever experienced, especially from a pet company. Such a disappointment!12-22-18 - Reply to Jessicas comment from 12-21.Firstly, Jessica incorrectly states that we had the harness 6 months before contacting her, this is not true. Our dog, a Pit Bull that we rescued was going through training and doesnt like being on a leash, so we did not attempt to use the harness until August when we felt that Peanut might be able to handle it. Also, my math tells me that August is only 5 months later, not 6. But that is not the point.To clarify:- The VERY FIRST TIME we put the harness on our dog, she chewed through the strap in 5 minutes.- I returned the full harness that was sent to us, NOT just the damaged strap.- After I pre-paid for the shipping for the repair, two months went by and there was no replacement.- I contacted the seller by email (I referenced parts because the harness was damaged and in pieces, excuse me) and asked where the replacement was. I was told I needed to send back the harness. I replied that I had sent it back in August.- After my reply, there was ZERO response from the seller until I contacted her again in December.- When she called me after my email in December, she proceeded to yell at me for nearly 15 minutes.I have NEVER experienced worse customer service from a small company, like this. If this is how she treats her customers (and based on several other reviews, this is not unusual) its a miracle that she is still in business.IF she really cares about her customers and their dogs the way she claims, she would have just sent me a replacement harness. But instead she chose to berate me and make the fact that it took her more than 2 months to respond after EACH contact, and to not furnish a replacement or a full refund my fault. She kept citing that I said part in my email, again the complete harness was in parts as it had been chewed, I sent everything back.So I basically threw $39 down the toilet (actually into Jessicas pocket) for a harness that did not work as advertised, and I was chastised by the owner of the company for doing so.STAY AWAY!!!!

I have been searching for years for good plush toys that don’t squeak — and thanks to you I finally found them! My pup loves plush toys and get so sad when I take away his usual squeaky ones. I needed something that would keep him occupied without the constant squeaking while I’m trying to work. He loves these toys so much! He’s a strong chewer and they are super durable. He loves to play around with them and cuddle with them, and they’re the perfect toys to keep him ohysicallt and mentally stimulated. I’m really happy with my purchase, and just wanted to say thank you!

Great product when they actually send what is ordered. (No pull dog harness) Customer service is lacking in the worst way. They don’t return calls. Then when you finally get in touch with someone, they have an attitude about it, instead of simply apologizing and responding to your original question. This company is not accommodating at all and I do not recommend them, take your money elsewhere, a company that appreciates their consumers instead of fights with them. No accountability whatsoever and quite frankly it’s WEIRD!More to come as I have yet to return my item. I won’t be surprised if they figure out a way not to accept my returned item and not give me my refund.

My dog easily chewed through two of the Freedom No Pull Harnesses. The first one took her a month, the second one she chewed through in a week! Possibly she finds the metal adjustment guides on the chest uncomfortable? I purchased the warrantee program ($14.95) but have found it awkward and slow. Ive been waiting many weeks for the replacement.

I purchased a harness from USA Dog Shop at an expo show. The booth at the show was busy and was not provided the level of customer service, I later found out I needed. Once I got the harness home and on Fido we went for a walk and harness tore, no he did not chew the harness, we were walking and the side just ripped. My pup could have run into the street, gotten hit by a car, luckily we were close to the house and he ran home.Upon reaching out to USA Dog Shop, Jessica was unwilling to work with me, stating repelatedly he must have chewed the harness. Once again I was supervising him on a walk (basically saying I was lying). She refused to listen to my experience and only offered a free warranty to have the harness fixed. Please note the warranty still costs $7 (for shipping).Due to the way I was treated, I would NOT recommend purchasing this item. It might have been the representatives in the booth at the show, and some items were not communicated. However, when I am told what I saw, or the paperwork I was supposed to know to pick up on one side of the booth (that I never passed) that outlines everything - I do not feel as though they have the best interest in mind.TO RESPONSE FROM OWNER:There were no chew marks on the harness (I saw it tear with my own eyes). It is unacceptable to think that the owner knows what happened when they were not there. Additionally - I did purchase with a credit card and have the purchase on my bank statement. One should not assume your staff handles receipts correctly 100% of the time. I do have proof of purchase, but due to my own due diligance, no thanks to the company.Do NOT assume your staff handles every customer the same way, when you are at a busy expo, things tend to slip through the cracks. However, you did NOT even listen to my side of the story before making a decision.

I recieved my dogs no pull harness & leash today. They were very nice in pre-sizing it based on my dogs measurement. Very helpful of them. One walk in our backyard & this really slowed our lab down! Thanks so much for inventing this!

Sign by the door said opens at 10, waited from 9:50 - had to walk into street to see shop name as wasnt on door. Looked it up online and Google said 10:30 opens. - really should be able to trust the posted sign.Disappointed to wait and not be able to shop! Definitely saw things would have purchased but just passing through the area so wont be back.

I have not had the pleasure of visiting the physical store in New York, but at the suggestion of our behaviorist purchased the Freedom No Pull Harness and Leash (devised by store owner Jessica) for our recently acquired, 95 pound, strong as an Ox Akita, Manny. I AM FLABERGASTED IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY! IT WORKS EXACTLY AS DESCRIBED. Walking curious, rambunctious Manny, who is stronger than me, is like walking a tea cup dog. He pulls, I stop. He stops pulling. After three walks, he even walks casually on a loose leash.The FREEDOM NO PULL HARNESS is a wonderful product and the customer service from the owners is outstanding. I recommend this product without reservation.

I cannot speak highly enough of this amazing shop, Jessica the owner, or her dog harnesses. I have 3 dogs who all use it and its made leash training them super easy and is safe as well. As a veterinary technician, I see all kinds of ill fitting harnesses that do nothing for your dog. This harness is different and I recommend it to everyone I know.Jessica is kind and willing to answer any questions about anything in her store. I am so glad I live so close by.

Bought a harness from them 5 years ago when they were in the palisades, harness is still used to this day and we love it! Have tried to stop at the store in Harriman but always seem to just miss them! Hopefully soon we can stop in for a refresher harness.

I purchased a harness for my dog and it arrived promptly. They also pre-adjusted the harness according to my measurements I took of my dog so I skipped the pain of having to adjust it myself. I will be purchasing products from them in the future

First of all if any of you morons, would ask first in stead of ASUMING, the condition of any animal in there store!!! They come from the shelter, as people like you that abuse or neglect animals. So, command since would only tell you, these animals are going to have to come back to perfect, in a couple of months... And if they even do so!! I have gone in there, these people mean well, by helping the animals from shelters!!!! Not puppy mills!!!! You people that down grade this store should be ashamed of your selfs!!! Stopped the other day as the owner or maybe employee was locking the door at 4:15 pm, they had just put a sign up saying they would be back at 4:30. The woman watched me walk up to enter, looked right at me and walked to her car. I guess customers are not that important. Whatever the person was doing could not have been so important that they would walk away from a customer if they were only going to be gone for 15 minutes. Ill shop else where.

I discovered this great store over the summer. The ppl were friendly and informative about their supplies, business, etc. I will be going back to get my dog a coat for the winter. They have wonderful items for both cats and dogs.

I have not been to the store, but I did order the freedom harness, collar and 10 position leash on line. Although I felt the website and ordering process was quite clear. Within an hour of placing the order, Jessica herself called me to discuss and confirm the information I had input. WOW, how refreshing! A business owner that actually cares enough to make sure the order that was placed had the best chance to be correct and that I would be happy with my choice. She also sent a hand written note thanking me for the order, and also took the time to pre-adjust my harness to the approximate measurements from the order form. The harness fit almost perfectly! And not only that it took literally 3 minutes for my 4 month old GSD pup to understand and respond correctly to the system. I purchased a freedom nopulldog harness with leash and martingale collar for $53.00, the harness was heavy bulky, and did not work to keep my poodle from pulling any better than martingale collar. I was informed by the information provided that if the harness was worn it could not be returned. How do you know if a product works as advertised if you dont try it?I have been taken advantage of , and am sad for believing the ads.I must advise anyone that writes a review that is not perfect will hear from the owner and are not very nice about a review that is in any way negative. I wonder if the guy that wanted to take a picture of a kitten was treated as poorly as I was. Sad sad.
