This park is dirty, old, barren, and full of gravel that is like kitty litter. Regardless, we used to come here since it’s the only dog park in White Plains. Now however, they’ve decided to charge everyone $25 per dog annually to play at this park. Despicable. White Plains, you’re living up to being the most anti-dog city in Westchester.
Excellent dog park without wood chips, so dogs wont get sick from licking the rotten chips due to the dogs urines and diarrhea. Yet, it requires annual fee of $25. Maybe this was why we didnt see a lot of dogs inside the dog park. What a pity?! City has maintained the park well. It is a great space for dogs to run around.
Not much to this place... Its basically a gravel lot over what appears to be a natural gas installation (there is a marked pipe sticking out of the ground in the middle of the active run area- small, but nonetheless not appealing). You can find the bare minimum as far as amenities- 2 concrete benches, a doggy clean up bag dispenser, a VERY unappealing garbage to put said waste into, and water fountain. It also does not have a ton of physical area compared to other local dog parks. The upsides to this park are that it is quiet- Ive never seen more than 5-6 dogs there at any given time. Also, because it is a gravel surface, both you and your dog get much less dirty in inclement weather than other area parks with dirt or mulch surfaces. I primarily use this park for this reason only, saving my dog from a bath and my clothes from a cleaning after it rains. There are much better parks within 10-15 minute drives however, and Id recommend them over this park unless its raining/wet outside.
I call this the afterthought park. Really small, not a spec of grass. Gravel & dirt only. (Just look at all the posted photos.) No greenery for the dogs to lay down & relax. Cement benches. Ugh. And not enough space for running, playing & chasing a ball. If this is the best the city of white plains is willing to carve out for all the dog lovers who live, work & pay taxes here, they should be embarrassed by this excuse of a dog park. BIG disappointment.
Its a nice place to bring your furry friends. Just be careful though, sometimes theres like one or two dogs there that do not want to be bothered. My dog who is just a puppy, loves to play and run around and he was growled at twice by two of these dogs. Even though people over there say theyre playing I could clearly say that they werent. So just watch what youre getting yourself into. If there are dogs there that do not want to be bothered, then stay away.
This dog park consist of just dirt. I use to take my English Bulldog here when it was free. She would literally come back home covered in dust. The only reason I would take her was bc during the summer there would be so many dogs and she just loved it. Now that you have to pay I noticed there a lot less dogs. You have to pay a $25 fee (wp residents) or $50 non-resident fee to gain access. You must also show documentation of vaccinations and license tag. Honestly don’t believe its worth paying for this. The people who now usually go there are kinda snobby and rude and there’s really nothing facinating about this park.
Worst park I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to parks all over the country. People bringing treats and food to the park, and have no idea why you can’t. First off it’s food and you’re at a dog park, dogs are still animals. Read the rules. People bringing their small dogs to the large side and get bent out of shape when dogs play. And I paid money for this !!!
As a resident of White Plains it is a shame that this is what White Plains calls a dog park. It is the worst dog park I have ever been to as there is no grass or shady spots and I have been to many dog parks in many states. I much prefer taking my dogs to the Abendroth Dog Park in Port Chester than the one in my own city even though it is farther away.
The park is not advertised as member only. I went out of my way to stop here on my travels. For a paid park this is trash.
Membership only, no grass, what a joke of a dog park. Paid space for a dog in Westchester is absurd, there are hundreds of places you can go to that are better and free (try the Valhalla dam or Irvington reservoir).
Dilapidated wasteland of a park. Its barely passable on a normal day, but now the city has installed a keypad and requires not only a yearly fee per dog, but that I show up to an office with a dog license to apply? Ludicrous, sleazy and reprehensible. Shame on whoever implemented this.
This dog park requires membership and an entry code. Not good for visiting from out of town. Has a small and big dog area and some ramps.
Separates the big dogs from small ones and has a big area for them to play. My dog loves going to the park.
Membership only?! Really? No greens area, almost no shades and very small...
Basic dog park a bit small all gravel nothing fancy just a basic spot to let dog run around.
Clean, nice people and dogs. No problems at all. Free poop bags and proper fencing
You need a pin code to get in. Bummer. Went out of my way to come and wasnt able to have my dog use the park 👎
This sucks big time there are area on south Kensico Ave end of the street there is a section that can be used for a dog park
Its nice to have the dogs play but the facility needs some repair and up keep
What kind of municipal dog park is this? It’s private and I couldn’t let my dog play? It’s in horrible condition. City of WP should be ashamed
I’ve been to plenty of dog parks around the city and westchester with my frenchie and never been told I couldn’t go in unless I was a member of something. I play softball in this park with my team all the time so it’s really unfortunate when my dog comes he can’t play in the park.
Have to pay fee to get into a gravel pit. No one comes here anymore because of it. Pathetic
Nice experience for my Jack/Chi Rockys first time. Very nice humans explaining the dog park to us since it was our first time. A few uppity snoots but thats everywhere these days. Adorable dogs Rocky had fun. And a great place for the dogs to smell there bottoms lol 😂
Great dog run with small-dog and big-dog areas. Water fountains are available most of the year, but shut off for obvious reasons in the winter time. (Bring your own, in other words.) Clean-up bags are typically available, as are two garbage cans.
Better than the idiots who run their dogs on the ball fields across the street.
Small and large dog area. Clean.
Its cool
Cute and great space is big and lovely
Great
Bad park for dogs
The doggies love it!
All gravel.
