Top Grade!!! We have been using Elizabeths service for about 5 years and we value her love and care for our dog, Echo. He is not the easiest dog to train or care for, but with Elizabeths help and guidance we have a much better and behaved pet. All we have to say to him is lets go see Elizabeth and your friends and hes looking for his leash. We recommend her to anyone who needs training or boarding. Thanks again!!

My dogs Lara and Yuri, who are 14 months old half German Shepherd and one half Husky, are having the best time of their lives at Elizabeth Woods Dog Obedience Group. Before acceptance into her Dog Daycare, each of my dogs went through an extensive interview process as individuals. Then she put them in one of the play areas, and carefully introduced them to one dog. After watching the interaction very carefully, Elizabeth introduced another dog. There was no hurry. Each introduction was allowed as much time as necessary for acceptance. More dogs followed, sometimes in twos and threes, until the ultimate play group was formed. Elizabeth kept the play group under observation during the entire session. My dogs played and played, hearts full of joy, bouncing in the air, sometimes running with other curly tailed sled dogs that looked just like them, other times with poodles or very small dogs. When I took them home, they were exhausted. When I took them for a walk, they were calm and not pulling. They finally had had a chance to burn off all that energy. The second day, Elizabeth showed me that Yuri had already learned the first lesson that she teaches all dogs under her care: come when called. She called Yuri and he, who was at the far end of the playground, dropped everything to instantly bolt up to her, stopping at her feet in a sit position. I was totally amazed. One day!Elizabeth then called dog after dog and showed me that they all obey her, just like that, coming when called, without hesitation. This is good for the safety of every dog. She has a rare and special talent for communication with dogs.I must say that before I came too see for myself, when I read all of the reviews about Elizabeth Woods, that I hesitated because of the negative ones. Now that I and my dogs have experienced her place for awhile, and it has been so positive for us, I believe that those reviewers just didnt understand that their dogs failed that initial individual interview. They must not have realized that an interview was taking place.Elizabeth will only allow dogs to join her dog learning and playing community that have a gentle, trainable temperament. It is for the well being of the whole, for what is best for her carefully curated group. I am so glad we qualified!Yuri and Lara are healthier than they have ever been following Elizabeths nutrition guidence. They are calmer, less needy, and better company now that they have hours of play and friendships with other dogs.I recommend Dog Obedience Group and Elizabeth Woods to all who love their dogs with a passion for their well-being.

Since the first day that we brought our little French Bulldog pup Sage to Elizabeth she has been a completely different dog. She listens and is responsive and she has not had any accidents in the house. Her whole attitude is different and in a better way. Elizabeth had us change her diet to something more suitable for her needs and ever since she has had a more beautiful coat and is all around healthier and happier. Sage is so excited everytime we pull up to drop her off. She gets to have a day with all her friends which I think is another huge positive and she has grown a bond with Elizabeth like every other dog there. Ive witnessed many dog trainers over the years but Elizabeth outshines them all in every way. I would, and have, recommend Elizabeth to anyone in need of an amazing trainer. I promise you will get the desired results. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best baby sitter for our dog ever… even better than any babysitter for my children. We left our 1 and 1/2 year pomsky. Finding a dog sitter for a dog with behavior problems was a challenge. She had me bring him to evaluate and to be honest the problems with the dog were things we wereDoing! She kept him with her for 10 days not only did she babysit but she worked on his behavior and training. She Sent me photos and messages everyday to let us know how he was doing! He is a much better pet and now he has a place to go have play dates! Win win! He methods works!❣️

Being a first time client of needing a pet sitter for several days, I was uneasy leaving my pet with anyone. Elizabeth’s business is local to my home and I decided to give her a call. She immediately asked to schedule a meeting, to familiar herself with my Bailey. Within a few minutes Bailey felt comfortable enough to wonder off and explore the fenced in yard.I booked a 3 day stay, and each day Elizabeth would text and send me photos, to ease my mind with leaving her. I would use her services again if I should need to.

Elizabeth is an amazing trainer. She has helped me train all three of my dogs, I am so glad K found her when I did. Thanks to Elizabeth I have learned so much about my dogs and how to keep working on making them better for them to feel confident and for myself to be confident with them. She is amazing, and knowledgeable in all the advice she gives. I would Definitely recommend to anyone to go check her location out and see for yourself. Another great part about her day care is that the dogs get to interact with each other and social life with other dogs and other people that come to get their dogs. Check it out!

Our daughters small 19 pound dog was attacked by another dog in this woman’s care, and required surgery to save his life. All the dogs in her care are forced to intermingle, regardless of size, breed, temperament and training issues. Elizabeth paid for his medical care initially, but refuses to continue to pay for his recovery expenses. He was so severely injured, that the Veterinarian wasn’t sure he would survive, and described the condition of his abdomen as “hamburger”. After the incident, our daughter begged Elizabeth to separate her dog from the other dogs, and was told “Stop trying to control me, have you seen your psychiatrist lately”? Just days after his surgery, we went to pick the dog up from Elizabeth, and we witnessed her pushing him to the ground, and he winced. I bent down and pet his head to comfort him, and Elizabeth sternly stated “stop that! stop that! don’t coddle him”! Elizabeth does not respect the owners wishes. Once you leave your dog in her care, she is the “expert”, and you the owner have no input in your dogs care. She is beyond unprofessional. We have spent the last week nursing this dog, and she had the nerve to say we are not qualified to care for him, yet he nearly died while under her care! He has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and we will care for him, and love him. He will never again experience the abuse that he was exposed to in Elizabeth’s care.UPDATE: Elizabeth did reimburse us for Paddington’s surgical follow up.

Super disrespectful when I went. My dog barks when she meets new people and has never nor is aggressive with humans or other dogs she rolls over for belly rubs every time. The lady started off telling me my dog was fat when my dog was just sick and is actually underweight. Then when I arrived to meet her she tried telling me to yell at my dog and I told her I can’t she was a gift after my daughter died and she barks because she doesn’t know you. She told me she then couldn’t help me. No one needed behavior help I was only there to meet her because I needed a dog sitter. Then she proceeded to tell me what breed MY dog is when I had her dna taken by the vet and that pitbulls are aggressive breeds. Just another “Karen”. Horrible experience. Then proceeds under my review to call my dog vicious I wish you could post videos and screenshots my dog is literally laying under my 14 year old cousin sleeping. She rolls over for everyone she meets to rub her belly yes she barks. She’s 8 months old she’s hyper. This lady is horrible.

This review is in response to Elizabeth’s post just 3 days ago, claiming that she commingles dogs of all sizes successfully at her facility. She is trying to cover up the fact that her policy of commingling caused our 19 lb dog to be attacked by another dog in her “care”. Our dog was so severely attached that he nearly lost his life. Elizabeth stated that she had to choke the other dog to get him to stop. Her practices of commingling are unsafe and possibly deadly. Elizabeth should be shut down before somebody’s loving dog doesn’t come home. Elizabeth is totally unprofessional and misrepresented. She is a fraud. Be ware.

Dog Obedience Group is an unlicensed and unprofessional doggy daycare. My Shiba Inu, Paddington, spent some time at this daycare with the owner, Elizabeth. I did not have a choice in having Paddington stay with her, as I moved with my family to Alaska 2 months ago. We left Paddington with family, and when they went on vacation, they chose to leave Paddington with Elizabeth. My husband and I were planning on family driving our dog from NY to AK in September in order not to traumatize him by 2 long flights. Well, now we wont be able to.Paddington will be traumatized for the rest of his life because of Elizabeths unprofessional daycare. While with Elizabeth, Paddington was brutally attacked by another dog. His entire abdominal wall needed to be repaired. He will have continual vet visits due to his attacks. Elizabeth tries to blame everyone but herself for this. After Paddingtons attack, I had asked Elizabeth to separate Paddington from the other dogs. I did not want my dog, who was struggling to survive, to be vulnerable around these other dogs. She responded by letting me know he would not be separated. In fact, Paddington was left vulnerable on a leash surrounded by the other dogs. There are pictures to prove it. And she posted pictures of him laying on her bed with a handful of dogs surrounding him. I found out later that the dog that attacked Paddington was still there after the attack; still around my dog. And I was told by an animal shelter close to where I live, that this other dog that attacked Paddington must have been showing signs of wanting to attack. When a dog attacks another dogs belly it is with the intention to kill, and they said there are signs leading up to that. When I asked Elizabeth again to please separate Paddington, she responded by asking me if Ive seen a psychiatrist lately. Completely unprofessional and inappropriate.Elizabeth is refusing to pay the remaining vet bills. And her insurance will not cover them, because there is an exclusion in her policy stating that because she was there when the event happened, she is liable personally.Elizabeth blames Paddington for the attack. She has not been the least bit sympathetic that our dog was nearly killed. And, as Ive told her, Paddington has lived with up to 10 kids at a time due to the nature of my work as a previous House Parent at a boarding school and group home. Paddington has NEVER been aggressive to the kiddos we have cared for. Paddington has never been aggressive to our own toddler. And weve socialized Paddington with other dogs regularly. Because of the nature of our work, we lived in a community with our co-workers that also had dogs. Paddington played with other dogs all the time, and there has never been an issue.Elizabeth keeps all of these dogs together all the time. She gives the dogs raw meat expecting there not to be an issue about dogs fighting over meat. She wont separate them when asked to. She is physically aggressive with the dogs, as you can read in the other reviews. And, if anything were to happen to your dog, she will not find herself liable. On the contrary, she will only add insult to injury.Do not bring your dog here.*Update* After weeks of back and forth, Elizabeth finally agreed to pay for the vet bills. For that, we are thankful.

Spoke to Elizabeth the night before obedience classes for our year old Catahoula. she gave me some advice regarding crate training and offered to do a free lesson which I thought was nice. We made an appointment for the next day to bring the dog. My phone was dead and plugged in when apparently she had tried to get a hold of me to make sure we were still on. I did not get her text and I nor do I get service going down 209 to wurtsboro from my home. We got there on time and when I rang the doorbell I heard her screaming at dogs inside . She answered the door I introduced myself and said I wasnt sure where to go and she started screaming at me about how she tried to call me and I didnt respond to her. I apologized and said my phone was dead so I didnt get her message . she screamed at me some more and said sorry and closed the door on me. I heard her again screaming at the dogs to shut up. I would understand if I was late but we were there on time and there was no reason to be so rude. I read some of the first reviews prior to calling which were positive even though they were about the boarding part. All i could think about was how glad i was that i saw how she was before meeting the dog . When I got back home, my son went on the website and read down more and found a lot of negative reviews. I guess I didnt read far enough nor would I ever recommend her just on the attitude alone.

She loved the first appointment, said nothing good about the lady. The lady gave her a collar/leash and crate. The lady told her “ have a nice life, I can’t help you. She was extremely rude nasty and unprofessional to my mother. When I messaged the lady she responded with....(My message)That was not very professional nor appropriate of you to speak to my mother that way. She does not have her own vehicle and it was last minute. In any business these things happen. People cancel/no show/reschedule. And if that is how you treat people I can not imagine how you treat animals. Now you have a nice life. I will be leaving a review.(Her message)I only saved that puppy’s life! Don’t think about that.I will respond to your “review”.(My message)Saved the puppies life? How ? Did you do surgery? Are you a vet? Did you administer antibiotics medication? Did you see the puppy more than once?(Her message)Not to mention that I gave her a crate for free. And a board and a cover. She was going to kill the puppy before she met me.(My message)Your sick and I’m reporting you(Her message)This was a NO CHARGE follow up.Good for you.

I took my very large, but super loving, pit bull to meet the trainer for the first time the other day. The trainer wanted to work on proper leash training so he could ditch his choke collar, which was more than okay with me. There were several curses and very rude remarks made from her to me that I still decided to ignore as long as she treated my dog nicely. She yanked my dog around repeatedly without even giving him a command to turn around, which he is usually pretty good with. Still, my dog seemed fine so I was willing to hear her out. Then, I noticed the leash was stuck under my dogs belly. When I told her, she said “he’s fine”, very rudely as if I was a bother and then proceeded to yank the leash which took his foot out right from under him and he fell! I shook my head and said “Oh, I don’t like that” and she quickly replied “goodbye then”. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Then before going inside she holds the door open and curses at us while saying “I wish you weren’t so close minded!” and shut it. That was the clean version of what she said to us. Don’t bring your dog here! I wouldn’t trust her alone with any living thing. If this is how she treats a customer for her business, imagine how she’ll treat something that can’t talk!

My partner and I were looking for a trainer. We initially sent a quote request to several near us on Friday (8/20/21). Ms.Elizabeth was the first to contact us. At first there wasn’t any issue. She requested several things for us to do at home. She offered many things, for instance mail cutting as well as flea and tick applications as well. Our little Eva would only be there 2 or if that 3 days a week. When arriving Ms.Elizabeth was pleasant and informative. Once there I sent videos to my partner so he could see the environment. There were things I saw I wasn’t sure about. Ms Elizabeth suggested that we place our 8 week old Eva on a raw chicken diet. We decided to try. By Saturday we decided not to continue the raw diet. I texted her stating we would have to revisit at a later time it didn’t sit well with her. She told me not to feed anything but chicken and what did I mean didn’t sit well. I replied she vomited. She continued to say there was no reason to stop feeding the chicken. I then stated that we have agreed to stop momentarily. Her response was it for us. She replied that she told me they do that sometimes and will eat it again. Ok. I won’t be helping you again. Good luck. My partner and I had a conversation right after due to her response. We were astounded by her response. She didn’t respect our decision. If a trainer does not respect your wishes then you shouldn’t continue or bother. I truly wish I would have spent the time to read the reviews. The experiences these owner had was spot on. I saw it for myself, I’m upset at myself that I even kept the thought of her assisting us.

This woman shouldnt be around dogs, or people either. She said my dog should be killedI called Elizabeth to enquire about boarding my 135 lb. Great Pyrenees Diesel for a few days. I explained he was very protective of my girlfriend and I and thus sometimes aggressive to strangers. She said she could deal with such dogs and to bring him in for a meet. We did, at first Diesel went up to her a couple and sniffed her without incident, Then she curtly accused us of malnourishing him because we didnt feed him raw meat. I explained we fed him fresh meats and vegetables that we prepare for him. Not good enough according to her, it has to be raw. Then she criticized his nails were too long, admittedly they were due for a trim but her inflections were kind of hostile. All this attitude started to put us on edge and Diesel too as he is no dummy and he was starting not to like her. Then she pulls out a choker chain and asks me to put it on him, I started to prepare it by putting the chain back through the ring as is necessary when she abruptly grabs it out of my hand and scolds me for not doing it correctly! (there is only one way it can end up being) she then prepares it her way and shoves it back in my hand and gruffly tells me again to put it on him. I started to but by this time Diesel had enough of her BS and started to snarl and bark at her. she exclaimed You should kill this dog (her exact words) We left immediately but my girlfriend was very shaken and almost physical ill by her words and attitude. I felt Elizibeth is somewhat psychopathic.Thankfully, we found a real kennel nearby with real dog keepers that had no problems dealing with Diesel and dogs like him.

BEWARE! This review is solely on my communication with Elizabeth before even deciding to bring my puppy in for doggie daycare. And before she comments saying “she doesn’t know me”, “it’s a fake review”, or “God Bless You” I have photos of our communication via email of how I was verbally attacked.I reached out to Elizabeth (via email) after reviewing her rates on her website for more clarification on her hours. I decided to take a look at the reviews and saw that she abuses the animals and is very rude. So I no longer continued communicating with her. But she emailed me EVERY SINGLE DAY to please call her until I responded. I finally decided to respond to her and let her know I was concerned about the reviews she had online.Rather than her explaining or trying to make me feel less concerned she told me verbatim: “I have many, many outstanding reviews, just recently. Seems like you’re afraid to talk to me. I am sorry for you.” So I responded letting her know that I am not afraid to speak to her and that I was aware of her positive reviews but concerned about the content of the negative ones. She was also blowing up my email with individual messages that consisted of her positive reviews in addition to her other responses. She then begins to break down one of the reviews and mention “You have texted me. You have never spoken to me.“A friend told me about this evil woman” That’s gossip. She admits to never meeting me.” But based on her reaction and reviews it’s not bad to think that they’re true because her actions speak louder than her words. She then continues to verbally attack by sending “ You have never met me. You have never spoken to me. You make judgments based on gossip. I am safer without you. God bless you.” I wasn’t going to respond but I wasn’t going to allow her to continue to send me rude messages all day long.I then tried to end the conversation by telling her to stop emailing me and that it’s wrong to be upset because I am concerned about the reviews left about her establishment. Dogs are like babies, of course people will be concerned if they plan on bringing their dog somewhere and there are reviews of abuse. It would be the same for a children’s daycare. So who knows what she could have done has I decided to bring my pup there. Also desperation is never a good sign. Just warning others if you make the decision to bring your dog there or not.

This is quite belated but since I would like to save others the horror of dealing with Elizabeth and her “ training techniques” a few years ago we dropped our sweet but anxious dog with her for a week for a vacation. She said she would work on some training with him and work with us after. When she arrived at our home she had her dog with her, after we told her that our dog was not always good with others. She made multiple inappropriate remarks , which we brushed off at the time since we didn’t really have another option. During the time that we were away she sent pictures where our pup seemed happy and well cared for and she reported that he was doing well and even made a few new doggie friends. When we arrived to pick him up about a week later he was locked in a small crate( to small for him ) and she showed us “how she kept him for breaking out do his crate” which was an issue due to the separation anxiety. Her way of doing this included shoving him in the crate forcefully whenever her approached the front of it and slamming the door in his face and on his nose. In addition when we arrived he was excited and barking and our first interaction upon entering the house was for her to smack him in the face with the end of the leash that was attached to him. Needless to say we were concerned. Upon entering her home there were numerous dog crates lined against walls with, at least 15 of them, with dogs inside barking. When we did get our dog back he had scrapes cuts and his neck was bleeding from the collar she was using. When my husband asked what happened she stated the he pulled and she corrected him and that we only had to wash it with soap and water and he would be fine. When he did something she didn’t like during he time we were talking with her she closed fist punched him in the head with us standing there watching. At this point my husband grabbed our dog and walked out of the house and to the car, she actually had the audacity to demand her choke collar back before we left. We immediately took him to the vet to be checked out who stated that he saw signs of abuse ( of course, who makes a dog bleed while your “training”.) We then went to the local sheriffs/ animal control to report this who told us upon mentioning her name that they currently had a case open and were investigating other complaints of the same nature from other clients and that she was well known to them because of these complaints of abuse of dogs in her care. In addition when we went to see the vet he was also aware of her and stated that she had even used his letter head to write letters for and to clients without his permission. Our dog was always a nervous wreck but never shied away from us before going to her home. When we got in the car to go home I tried to let him as he was obviously nervous and he ducked away, this was something he had NEVER done before. He was weary of strangers but always loving and never afraid of us. This was heart breaking to see as we left him with her to improve his anxiety and we got him back more anxious and afraid than when he got there. The “training” did nothing for him, anxiety still there and worse than before, behaviors didn’t improve at all, the only thing she accomplished was to set back the work we had acoomplished with hi. By months, we did eventually find someone who was willing to work with him and he made leaps and bounds but I’m convinced that his week with her did permanent damage, in addition to the physical ( the hair on his neck never really grew back fully ) the steps backward he took, which previously he had been close to over coming, after his stay never really got back to the point he was st previous to staying with Elizabeth. Luckily he was a larger dog, and while it’s no excuse for her treatment of him, I’d hate to see how a smaller dog would come out of her “training” Do not leave your animal with this woman!!!!

I have not even attempted to go to this training class just because of the negative reviews and how the owner replies to them. I think it’s so unprofessional how the owner handles criticism and it’s definetely not a place I would ever take my dog because of it. I understand it’s frustrating to receive negative reviews, but that’s no reason to call your clients liars. They were obviously upset about something if they take the time to write paragraphs about their negative experiences. I find this absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable from someone I would consider paying money to train my dog. They will not be getting business, and it’s not even because of what the negative comments said, it’s simply how the owner handled them. If the owner’s comments on yelp are any indication of her personality, I highly recommend everyone reading these reviews before considering sending your dog here. I was actually appalled by some of her nasty comments back to her ex clients, UNACCEPTABLE!!!Update: I’m guessing she saw my review regarding her rude comments to her ex clients and knew I was right because within a week, all of her incredibly rude and unprofessional comments were removed. Don’t send your dog here. I don’t even need to attend a class to know that the owner is manipulative and will do anything to benefit herself and her business. I wish I had taken screenshots because she openly admitted on Yelp to having said to one of her ex clients that their dog should be “humanely euthanized” due to him having some protective tendencies (Something that she should put 100% effort in trying to fix before making such an impulsive decsision to put the poor dog down). Besides reading about the dog that got attacked under her care, that was one of the most appalling comments to read and I remembered vividly what she said because of it. My best wishes to all of the traumatized owners and dogs who went here. I hope everyone considering taking their dog here reads this and recognizes how inappropriately she manages her “business”, if you can even call it that.

Im not a bot, but ur still arrogant, passive aggresive and absuive to the dogs and owners.Ur not licensed, animal Control knows all about u and so do the police. 👍 I will never call and aquire ur services and no one else should either.Bless ur heartFirst off, ur ignorant, narcissistic, hit the dogs and scream at them as well as the owners. Ur extremely aggressive towards the dogs and owners. I fear for the dogs in ur care. I saw ur passive aggressive Comment on one of ur 1star reviews. No one should use ur service. Uneducated owner, meanwhile ur abusive to the animals. Wat kind of person hits and screams at the dog? An abusive trainer. There r OBVIOUSLY OTHER MEANS OF TRAINING A DOG. but u decide violence is the answer. I will not me recommending ur services and I will notify ppl of how u treat these dogs. SHAMEFUL!

Yeah... nooooo. When I first moved to NY I really needed someone to help me and my dog with our transition. This woman’s method of teaching is brutal. She choked my dog and yanked him around her back yard. She pretty much tried to beat my dog into submissive actions that were desireable to her. I was too ashamed of an owner to have allowed someone to do that to my dog. I could never return here again. This woman’s business need to be investigated and shut down.

Awful place. would give negative stars if possible. boarding areas are not secure or safe for animals or humans. woman running place is terrible person. Please look at before using, simple walk through will show how poorly run. Ask to see insurance certificates .... good luck... ask to see vaccine records of other animals allowed to roam free with all pets staying there... good luck. ask to see training certificates ... again goodluck. This is a dangerous place DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE WITH ANYTHING YOU LOVE OR CARE ABOUT> should be closed down for everything from sanitary to fire-codes to zoning violations. DO NOT USE!####Response to owner response. No its you. read other reviews. Terrible place. Bad people. cannot provide information required.

Elizabeth did a great job with training Alfonzo and I. She showed me how to take control and stay calm at the same time. Fonzo now knows and does obedience right! Thanks to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth is straight forward and has great knowledge of dogs. We met 5 days ago when we came to checkout the place to perhaps leave our dog there for a few days, when we go away. Elizabeth made few suggestions on how to correct a particular behavior and diet. Its only been a few days and we already see a huge chage in our dog!!Thank you so much!! So happy we met you!! 💓

When you first meet Elizabeth you can be taken back, but please give her a chance to work her magic. She took my 11 month old Bernese mountain dog pup weighing in over 100 lbs, and made him manageable. Henley was pulling me down the street to a point where I couldn’t walk him. Jumping all over us and visitors. There were times I’d see him coming to greet me and I’d sit down so he didn’t knock me over. In a two hour span he wasn’t pulling she taught us to demand not ask to sit and down . Getting him in a crate was impossible but now he walks in with no issue. ( not going to say it wasn’t ruff the first time at her house). She texts me weekly to see if all is well. This woman keep our family together and yes my dogs are family. I owe her such gratitude . She teachers hard lessons but there are certain dogs that need to learn those lessons and for that I will alway be grateful.

This lady is very rude. She is very judgemental and over all just bad. She is not understanding in unexpected situations and very demanding. While I was there to pick up my dog she grabbed a big dog by the skin on its neck and its behind. The poor dog cried and peed because he was so scared. Please do not bring you beloved pets here.
