Petco Grooming

Its easy to set an appointment online. You just show up and your set. The cut was great and my dog looks amazing. The price was fair as well, $125 all in . Cut, bath, shampoo and nails cut

I am debating if Ill go ahead and request a refund. I signed up for full service on the website. At the appointment desk, the person assisting me lets me know then, it might not be a full groom as this is my dogs first time being groomed. I let her know my dog has been groomed before, just not here. I told her my dog is accustomed to bathes, ear cleanings, nail trimmings, and she will chew on the tooth brush, but she lets you put it in her mouth. She said ok, they have to see how things go. I should have left then, but didnt want to back out on the appointment. I asked her how long would it take. She said between 1-2 hours. 2 hours if they performed the entire service. I get called to pick her up 2 hours later. They did a shotty job of cleaning up the fur on her face. Didnt trim under her chin at all. Cut a little bit of hair from her pubic area. Not enough to prevent any leftover accidents, they trimmed some hairs randomly? She did not look like she came from the groomers. She looked like she was in need of an appointment, badly. To make things worse, they doused her in this horrible smelling cologne. I had to give her a bath when I got home. I didnt pick her up from the groomer myseld. I was walking around Petco actually looking for information on obedience training. My adult son picked her up and brought her to me. I chose not to make a complaint at the time. I would never go there again for grooming services and it completely turned me off from obedience classes. The groomer that handed my dog to my son told him she did great during the groom so this wasnt an issue of her not sitting still. I spent roughly $70 and will have to take her elsewhere for an actual groom. It was a horrible experience.

Kim my dogs groomer is very professional and very sweet and patience with Pepper knowing she suffers from high anxiety.

Kim has always been our favorite groomer. She has been taking care of Bailey for a long time now and we have never had a problem with the end results. The latest appointment was top notch! I showed her pictures and told her my concerns, likes/dislikes and she delivered exactly as I requested! Kim is an excellent groomer and Bailey seems to like her, which gives me a very comforting feeling as I walk away from my fur baby.

My prior experience at the Baldwin Petco was excellent which was what bought me back for a return grooming session since my regular groom mobile service was no longer in business. I am a senior citizen and its hard for me to get my dog in the car. I made my appointment online, arrived 15m early, the groomer was pleasant & said theyd be done in a couple of hours and call when done. I overheard them telling two other clients it would take two or three hours so I figured 3 hours the most. I shopped a bit & after 2 hours I waited in the parking lot for the call. As Im sitting there I see my groomer leaving the building and returning about 15-20 minutes later with what look like lunch. I waited another half hour and then went in to check about when they would be done. As Im speaking to the person at the desk I see the groomer for my dog with bags returning from somewhere clearly not working on my dog. I asked them politely about how long it would be and they nastily replied another 30 maybe minutes & I told you I would call you and walked back to the area where the dogs were. I left went back to my car sat another 20 minutes thought about everything and got heated. I decided to go back and end the session and just take my dog home. I asked speak to the groomer and explained to them I did not like the way they spoke to me and I did not like how long this was taking especially since they were not grooming my dog the whole time but had been running errands getting lunch or whatever. They replied they were returning from a 15 minute lunch. I told them this was clearly not true as I saw them coming and going from the parking lot & 20 minutes after that when I came to the desk you were still not with my dog. Long story short a couple of hours turned into 4 hours. Now this could have had different explanations which I could have worked with. Maybe theyre a perfectionist and take longer than usual, maybe there was something I just didnt know. I was willing to listen. What I was not willing to do is wait around for 4 hours, see the person whos supposed to be working on my dog going here and there, and then when I politely question them about the length of time be talked to so nastily. I rescued Sheba 7 years ago. It has never taken over 2 hours to groom her even during the pandemic when she got a bit matted. Nor have I ever given $178 of my hard-earned money to a business and as a customer been spoken to so disrespectfully. I too will be taking my money elsewhere.

John is amazing! He took such great care of Roxy and he is very compassionate and kind! Roxy was returned to me looking and smelling fabulous! Thank you!

John is very patient and kind to my very frightened dog, Ollie. He does a good job doing all that should be done. I never have to remind him about ears, anal glands, nails and buffing. Its all taken care of and well done.

I strongly recommend against anyone getting their pets groomed at this location. I brought my dog in for a nail trimming and the woman behind the counter said she could take her. She seemed nervous but I though maybe she had gotten nipped or something by a dog recently.She almost immediately cut multiple quicks on my dog. I know that this sometimes happens but she didnt seem to be checking her work and was very shaky. My dog obviously reacted when that happened because it is painful and she proceeded to tighten the neck harness to where my dog was basically choking. At this point I started banging on the glass (thankfully I was there watching) and said I would take my dog home with two bleeding paws. She didnt even notice the bleed I had to point it out for her to put the powder on. The groomers name is Rohina (I think that is the correct spelling), do not let her touch your dog.After this incident happened everyone in the grooming staff came out to talk to me and to say there have been problems with her and should file a complaint. If that is the case..WHY WAS SHE ALLOWED TO TAKE MY DOG IN THE FIRST PLACE. While this was a walk-in everyone knew my dog. We would have gladly waited for someone who was capable of taking care of her. It seemed like everyone just was waiting for this to happen so someone would complain to get this woman fired.I will never go back to PetCo for anything after this. I will say if you have to go there John who we usually take her to is lovely. He never uses choke collars, he has someone hug and pet her if shes nervous. He gives her love. I am sad that we will not be back to see him but I am so furious and refuse to give PetCo my business. In 2023 we should know choking dog is not the answer and this shouldnt be an option in their training.

Ivorie is great!! She takes excellent care of my dog.

Hair Tech did a great job on my dog. She was knotted from not brushing and she was able to give her a great cut

So happy with the cut given to my puppy. It was her first haircut and it came out amazing. Our groomer Shaina did such a great job and I feel she took care of Bailey wonderfully for her first cut. She deserves a raise!!

The grooming staff were very accommodating in fitting my dog in for a nail trim. They went above and beyond: nails were clipped, filed, and fur around nails was also trimmed. My dogs nails look even better than when the vet trims them thanks to Petco of Baldwin, NY.

This was not my first experience with having Bentley groomed by Petco. We used to go to the Carle Place location and they were not friendly and always had an excuse why Bentley could not be groomed thoroughly. I must say I was pleasantly greeted at the Baldwin location - and immediately saw the difference in the 2 locations. Bentleys groomer Shana was extremely nice and comforting to Bentley and seemed excited and knowledgeable about his care. The finished product was so different than any of the services at the Carle Place location. I had written off ever coming back to Petco for grooming and someone suggested I try another location, and I am so glad I did. Shana and the crew in Baldwin are AMAZING!!

Although my pets were groomed to my satisfaction, I did not like the fact 1 of my dogs sustained an injury to his nail bed while under your care.
