Over the past two decades we have had several dogs trained with the Steinway method developed by Andees family. It is a common sense approach based on pack behavior that gets immediate results during your introductory meeting with Andee at her pet friendly facility. Some breeds are easier to train, while others such as our Golden Irish are more challenging. We know from experience that making the commitment to your puppy is an investment in a happy future together. After picking up our puppy at six weeks old (there is a reason most breeders want your pup to stay with their litter a bit longer to learn acceptable puppy manners); we experienced destructive chewing and jumping-two very unpleasant puppy habits. After several communications before our three-hour face to face meeting Andee had reminded us of all the dos and donts. Our daily dedication to those rules of acceptable behavior are now part of our pups life and we could not be happier. We have no doubt that with the Steinway method, Lia will become the calm, well behaved dog (that will easily adapt to our busy lives) as have the labs and setters we have had trained in the past.

My first experience with Stein-Way dog training was 30 years ago when I lived in NY. I had a 6month old puppy that was driving me crazy because I didn’t know how to handle it.Well, in THREE HOURS that all changed!!I was so impressed that I’ve been telling people about Stein-Way dog training for the last 30 years! Now I’m in Texas and got a German Shepard and was bound and determined to have Sasha and me get trained again by Stein-Way.I called and mom has transferred the training to her excellently qualified daughter Andee. We were unable to meet each other personally so we did it via FaceTime!! In what was equivalent to three hours, I was trained!! Yes, I said, “I”.The valuable lesson here is that Andee teaches you how to communicate with your dog…….the mentality of a dog, and how the human should train the dog.The training is for the human and OMG, IT WORKS!!If you want success with your dog, then I highly recommend that YOU get trained by Andee!!

What a joke this place is. I called to hire them to train my little 1 year old Havanese pup for some basic training needs that are all listed on their website as easily trainable. They said they could rectify all these things in a 3 hour training session for $495 (which I was skeptical of in the first place). I mentioned that a couple of times my dog has gotten a bit snippy when we tried to take something out of her mouth. They actually turned me down! She said they cant have their name associated with a dog like this, its too much of a liability! My dog is 10 pounds and looks like a little teddy bear and is very sweet and friendly almost all of the time! You would think that if they were such a great training facility like their website suggests that they would actually meet the dog and see from that. What a sham!

I brought in a very pushy dog who could not get along with others to Stein-way and brought home a very lovely demure member of the family. She turned out to be the most loving and best behaved dog I have ever had. At first, the training seemed too tough to me, and was more difficult physically for me, not the dog, than I anticipated. Even when I drove off, I wondered if I had solved our problems. But within a day or two, it was easy to see that my dog had been transformed into an obedient but still frisky pet from an overly aggressive pushy pain in the you know what. I followed up with the training I had received and exercised all 3 of my dogs in the same manner and they were all happier and better behaved and maintained that behavior for their lives. We just lost the original dog at 11 years old that Linday helped teach me to manage. We still have one other whose behavior was positively influenced by what I learned and by the original problem dogs change. I am planning to get another dog in a couple of months when the feelings of loss subside and will follow the same technique. If I have any problem, I will take the new one to the STEIN-WAY. The dog is taught to understand what is expected and complimented when they understand. Correction is quick and harder on the owner than the dog. My dog was tougher than average and was happy to display what she learned throughout her life.
