It was a blessing that Eli met Amanda. Eli was having many behavior issues. (most of his issues developed while using another trainer) After speaking with Amanda over the phone for an hour Amanda had us come to the facility with Eli to assess his behavior. Eli did 3 weeks of board and train and 3 weeks of in home training. With many different training techniques Eli is starting to be a loving puppy again. Amanda is knowledgeable on what she does and knows how to handle different dogs with different issues. If a training method doesn’t work she will try something new. I love that she doesn’t give up on her clients and goes above and beyond to make sure the dog is being trained appropriately. Eli loves seeing Amanda.

We started working with Amanda about 2 months ago with our puppy Remi who was 10 months old at the time. We were dealing with some reactivity issues and were not able to confidently manage him, so we signed him up for the 7 week program. From the first session we were instantly so impressed with Amanda and the facility as well. Each week with her guidance his obedience greatly improved. Once he was ready, we even got to go on outings to practice outside the facility with lots of distractions. He has now been able to walk in busier towns, parks and even breweries. A couple of weeks ago we never thought this would be possible. Remi now has so many more fun opportunities thanks to Amanda! We are so glad we chose Genetic K9 for our lab, Nova’s training. Amanda and her team are incredibly knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Nova started the 4-week program at 8 months old, and the improvement in her behavior has been remarkable. She transformed from an unruly pup into a “mostly” well-behaved dog with good manners (she’s still a puppy, so she has her moments).The best part is that we now have an even stronger bond with our furry family member. Genetic Canine is absolute wonderful facility. To start off the place is impeccably clean. I have been to other facilities that have “dog” smell…..there was none of that there. Amanda the head trainer is extremely knowledgeable and had great handling skills. She made me feel extremely comfortable while watching her handle my dog. I have also been able to attend 2 of their events. The first was an educational seminar and second they hosted an amazing spring photo shoot. Both events i recommend and would happily attend again. They also have a raw food line that I have just started feeding girl! Sophie’s raw food diet has improved her coat along with her stool. It is packaged and delivered from a local butcher shop that is only a few miles away and owned by her partner John! John, like Amanda is super passionate about dogs, training and providing high quantity raw food to dogs! This made it super easy for me to order and have it delivered straight to the facility for pick up! They have an amazing shop packed with high quality atraining equipment, treats, chews and supplements! 100000% would recommend Amanda, John and Genetic Canine for any training, training tools, high quality treats and raw food needs. We have truly had such a great experience working with Amanda and the Genetic Canine staff! The facility is pristine and we have already learned so much. We were new dog owners when we started the training process at Genetic Canine for our german shepherd puppy. I used to be worried about walking him due to his behavior on leash, but Amanda, Lindsey, Carrie, and the rest of the team worked diligently on his challenges during the 4-week board and train program. Not only did they focus on Bruce’s shortcomings, but they also provided ongoing lessons and training, meeting with us throughout the process to ensure his progress. Having Bruce back with clear boundaries and a newfound respect has lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

Amanda is literally the dog whisperer. I brought Monty in as an extremely aggressive and unpredictable 2 year old Yorkie. He did not listen to any commands and would bolt any chance he could get. He was very territorial and only was behaved around my parents and myself (sometimes lol). However, after only 6 sessions with Amanda (and we are not done yet), Monty has made unbelievable progress. He obeys commands, as well as listens when called, unlike before we started training. Monty has learned commands such as “come, place, down, ok.” He is only going to get better from here on out. When it comes to dog training, there is literally no one better than Amanda- would recommend her to anyone seeking dog training. Additionally, the facility is so clean and tidy.

My experience with Genetic Canine has been amazing! A friend of ours recommended Genetic canine and we couldn’t have been happier with the breakthrough we’ve had with her!! Her reactivity was causing extreme anxiety to the point where I felt like I had no control. We did a 2 week board and train at 8 months with genetic, Amanda was sending me videos of my puppy with different trainers, walking with dogs and even sitting next to them with zero reactivity! Her commands were strengthened immensely and now she is E collar trained. Amanda is an amazing dog trainer! We did the puppy program with our puppy Indie and she has learned so much obedience and commands. Omg we can’t say enough good things about Amanda and her staff. Our GSD King spent two weeks there and came back actually different (in a good way ) dog. He is so well behaved and trained. We never thought this was possible. He was always such a sweet puppy now he is ever sweeter. Amanda and her team were fantastic with our puppy, Beau. When we first brought Beau to Genetic Canine he was struggling to adjust to our home and everyday life. Beau is doing significantly better with her help. He can sit, down, stay, walk nicely, knows his name and so many more cool tricks that make it easier for our everyday life. Our life style is very family oriented and we constantly have company. Beau has been very affectionate and trustworthy around other adults, children, and animals thanks to Amanda’s help. Amanda is very genuine and warm which always made me feel well support throughout the puppy training process. There is nobody I trust more with my pup! Amanda and the team at Genertic are a one stop shop for training, training equipment, and boarding. I currently have my 7 month GSD with them and he completed the puppy course and is now onto the adult course. He is doing amazing with Amanda and the training staff. I am so grateful for the training experience that I’ve had with Amanda. Before coming to her, I trained with two other trainers. Neither one of them were able to help me with the issues that I had with my dog Charlie. At first, I was leery of using the E collar with him. I quickly realized that it was the training tool that he needed so that I could clearly communicate with him. It has been a game changer. He now is the dog of our dreams. He no longer has any of the issues that were very troubling to us. I wish I had trained with her earlier. Charlie is an eight month old puppy who has not been easy to train. He had issues that the two other trainers weren’t able to resolve. I wish I had gone through Amanda‘s puppy training program. I think that if I had started with Amanda earlier I wouldn’t have had the five months of unsuccessful training, stress, and worry. I highly recommend Amanda. Not only has she resolved all of his issues, but he is the kind of puppy now that people are amazed over. My family and friends are constantly commenting on the wonderful highly trained puppy he has become!

I was desperate for help. My two dogs were so reactive on walks towards other dogs and animals. In fact my younger dog had dragged me to the ground three times resulting in an injury. I reached out to Amanda at Genetic K9 and she quickly responded to my call. We were able to set up a meeting that same week. I explained my worries and she assured me right away. We choose a two week board and train for both my Bernedoodles. Tucker 3yrs and Cooper 1 yr . They both were terrible on the walk pulling and carrying at the sight of another dog. After the two week period we spent one follow up visit with Amanda and brought them home.We worked on what Amanda and her other trainers taught them and us. It was like a miricale they were calmer and we could walk them with barely any pulling. The facility is clean and immaculate. They only take in a few dogs at a time, so there is no worry for any bad dog interactions while there. My mind was completely at ease and we were able to visit them half way through their training. They both happy and thriving . We will continue to work with them in the group classes they provide and always seek advice from the whole staff there who are truly knowledgeable. My husband and I could not be more thrilled with the progress our 3 year old French bulldog has made with Amanda and her team at genetic K9. We had previously did training at another facility and we did not get the results we were after. We now have the frenchie companion we always hoped for. Amanda really takes the time to understand the needs of the dog and adjusts training techniques to the dog. She focuses on training in the facility as well as outside the facility to put you and your dog into real world situations. We can’t wait to start training with our new puppy!

I have a beautiful, stubborn, strong Cane Corso. A month ago she almost pulled me to the ground and I couldn’t get her to return focus to me after an encounter with another dog on our evening walk. Well… after a few sessions with Amanda from Genetic Canine my girl walks like a dream! Tonight we were in a new place with new people. I let go of her lead and as a normal dog would she began to approach the new people. The second I said “Come”, she turned right around and came back to my side! Small children passed by with their little dog (mom too) I directed my girl to stay… and she didn’t move. A month ago she would have been pulling my arm out! So grateful to Amanda for her love and professionalism!

We cannot recommend Genetic Canine enough! We were really unhappy and at a loss when it came to our 9 month old puppy until we started to train with Amanda. She provided us with the tools, resources and the confidence that we needed in order to get Luke on track. I would highly recommend working with head trainer and owner, Amanda. I started working with Amanda when my lab mix, Tripp, was around 4 months old participating in the puppy program. The puppy program was great for foundational skills and to continue to build his confidence. After the puppy program, I started the adult program where Amanda worked with us individually to build upon his skills from puppy program integrating loose leash walking, stays, e-collar, and decreasing how vocal he was. Tripp and I now go to group classes on a regular basis to keep up with his training and expose him to new challenges. Tripp listens so well and has great recall which is great for freedom on walks to explore and the ability for me to bring him to dog friendly environments. T Amanda is a wonderful trainer and is very invested in her clients. She has a true passion for dog training and it comes across in her work. 10/10 recommend!!

I can’t say enough about Genetic K9! We came to Amanda with our extremely energetic & wild golden retriever puppy. As soon as we walked through the door I knew we were in the right place. The facility is impeccable. Amanda is knowledgeable and professional. We’ve completed the puppy program with a well trained puppy and the tools to continue to mold him into an amazing dog. This is our first time using a dog trainer for our dogs. Amanda came highly recommended and she did not disappoint. I’ve been working with Amanda for 5 weeks with my GSD puppy in her 7 week puppy program and it’s been truly great. Her training is super individualized to each dog and she always asks if there’s anything we want to work on in addition to what she has planned for the day. Not only does he leave tired and happy but it has also been so fun and enjoyable for me, learning so much and bonding with my dog. We will definitely be continuing to work with Amanda after the puppy program!

Working with Amanda at Genetic Canine has been such a positive experience for my German Shepherd Ace and I. She is very knowledgable and her experience shows. Ace went into the 8 week program as an unconfident puppy with some leash issues. He is now 5 weeks in and can walk on and off leash comfortably and is now starting public sessions to further his obedience in real life situations. Amanda is extremely cautious and makes sure your dog isn’t put into a situation where they can be harmed. If you have an untrained dog I highly recommend Genetic Canine.

Dakota and I have been training with Amanda for a year and a half.  We started because Dakota was very energetic and couldnt be walked on a leash because she yanked and pulled so hard.  We worked individually with Amanda for several weeks before moving into the more challenging group class environment.  Amanda is so knowledgeable that Im still learning new techniques and skills regularly from her.  She is an excellent communicator, breaking the techniques down so we can learn them, offering helpful suggestions, and combining skills to produce even better results.  I am now able to work with Dakota completely off-leash when I choose to, and can manage her even in very chaotic environments.  Amandas training has improved  Dakota and my relationship and allowed us to do more things together.  I never thought my big bundle of energy could learn to sit quietly at a restaurant, ignoring other dogs, for over an hour.  I very highly recommend Amanda and Generic Canine.

Amanda is absolutely amazing. Taking Dane, my 7 month old german shepherd on walks was extremely challenging. Not only was I struggling to stop him from pulling, he is also very dog reactive. Less than halfway through our 8 week package I am already seeing a HUGE difference. Dane was finally able to walk on a leash with another dog present. I could not believe the improvement in such a short amount of time! Dane is much more engaged in our walks, pulling much less and I’m finding it much easier to get his focus back onto me. Amanda has been such an incredible trainer for my dog Bear. Bear is a 2 year old German shepherd dog with extreme dog reactivity. His reactivity has become so much more manageable. She has helped me understand his reactivity and is teaching me how to handle it. Amanda has approached Bear’s needs with creativity. She has tried and true methods but she also understands how all dogs are different and have different needs for their success. I am a customer for life. I feel grateful for her everyday.

I started bringing my dog Hank to Amanda when he was 1 year old in June 2020. He always jumped nonstop which I hated especially when people came over. I wanted him to be well behaved so I would be able to bring him out places with me without any worries. Here we are 2.5 years later and he doesn’t jump uncontrollably, he listens great and is amazing off leash! I get so many compliments on his behavior whenever we are out. My daughter Amanda has been taking her dog Hank to Amanda for training since June 2020, Hank was 1 year old. Hank and the family have benefited so much from Amanda’s training. I found out about Amanda through a friend who put her dog in puppy training. I had a few issues with my french bulldog when it came to obedience and behavioral. I was at a loss and accepted that it was how he is. However, after speaking with Amanda I felt comfortable enough to do a meet and greet so she can better assess him and his needs. I can’t say enough good things about GeneticK9 and Amanda! My dog Max has reactivity issues with other dogs and Amanda has helped up manage his reactivity and reduce stress it causes. We attend the group classes that include real life situations and going to public places such as restaurants/crowded areas where we he learns how to relax and be with everyone. I came into a 3 year old pit/lab mix dogs life earlier this year. When I met the dog, Tucker there was some obvious issues that needed to be worked on, but also as months went by he wasn’t listening to simple commands by me. He started going to training with Amanda just a few months ago. Over the course of a few months I’ve seen this dog who didn’t listen to simple commands become a dog who now listens. I’m able to take him on walks now with the help of the E collar and Martingale leash that Amanda has educated Tuckers mom on, as well as me. I truly believe if we never got Tucker into training at Genetic Canine and with Amanda’s constant help, Tucker wouldn’t be this version of himself he is today nor on this journey of becoming the best version of himself.

I came to Amanda looking to resolve my dogs aggressive behavior as well as work on communication/obedience with my dog and she helped me do just that! Sending my dog, Stella, to Amandas four week board and train was the best thing Ive ever done for my dog. My dog is six years old, not a puppy, set in her ways, but Amanda and her trainers were able to teach her how to listen, be neutral around other dogs, and overall behave better. I was never able to take her out in public because shed bark and lunge at other dogs, but now I can walk into Lowes, on any trail, and even downtown Port Jeff without her barking at all! Amanda taught me how to handle her better, and develop the relation between us. She knows dogs so well, and is overall incredibly knowledgeable.Leaving my dog for four weeks was so hard, but I got pictures and video updates whenever I wanted, and I know Amanda and her staff took amazing care of my dog.I cant recommend training with Genetic Canine enough! I went to Amanda when my husky was 9 months old. He was bad and would bite me and did not listen. I was scared to have him around other people cause I did not want him to bite them. Now he listens and is well behaved and I’m not scared to bring him out. Most huskies are known to run away but I can go on walks with sully off leash and he walks right near me. Amanda has helped me tremendously with having a better relationship with sully. I higher recommend her she takes the time to work with you and your dog.

Love Amanda at Genetic Canine!! My rescue pup had issues with fear and anxiety but Amanda helped her to overcome her fears and now her anxiety level has greatly reduced(and so has ours)!I took her for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday and when another couple was walking their pup, she was calm while the other was barking and pulling! I put her in a “down and wait” while her eye contact was on me for reassurance that she was safe. The man commented to his wife, look at that! What an amazing dog!! That’s a testament to what Amanda can do for your pup!We could not have gotten to this stage of calm obedience without the caring guidance of Amanda. She’s easy to work with and always willing to work the schedule according to your needs. I am thrilled to have found Amanda and highly recommend her. Within just a handful of sessions, my dog is less reactive, able to control her emotions and better follow commands on and off leash. Absolutely amazing experience with Amanda!!!!!I adopted a two year old mini dachshund (stubborn and sassy) who struggled with basic commands and feared everyone and everything. After a year with my dog , and many failed training programs from other companies not related to this one, I found Amanda with a final desperate attempt to train my dog because I knew there was potential. I had wasted a lot of money and was nervous to begin another program, but after my first call with Amanda I knew this was going to be different. Two weeks in, my dog was entirely different in the very best way possible. She introduced new techniques and worked with each challenge my dog faced to ensure she overcame it. I cannot say enough good things about the program. Don’t waste your time on a basic training program elsewhere. In the end you’re only cutting corners that will harm your dog down the road. She showed me that the phrase “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” is NOT true, as long as you don’t give up!! Amanda will provide you with skills to ensure yourself and your dog live the happiest lives. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone I know.

Ive been taking my 3 year old pit/lab mix Tucker to Amanda for a few months now. He was struggling with his confidence when it came to men, as well as some basic training needed to be worked on more. Amanda has taught me how to use an E collar which has helped tremendously as we continue to have Tucker become his best self. Tucker is a nervous nelly and with Amandas guidance, is becoming more adventurous and confident in himself. Tuckers overall listening skills have improved tremendously. Amanda is not only patient with tucker but also finds ways to motivate Tucker in ways that other trainers havent. I cannot think of a better person to help of your dog if it is in need. Tucker will continue to train with Amanda as well as any future dogs that I may get.

Working with Amanda has been very great. My 5 month old puppy has learned things I could have never taught myself and has actually made the transition of getting a puppy much less stressful. I recommend her 10/10!!!

Amanda is an amazing dog trainer. She is extremely knowledgeable and has many years of professional experience. Her training gym is perfect for individual or small groups. Amanda is very patient with both the dog and their owners as the learning process takes time. Amanda educates owners how being committed, repetitive homework, training your special dog, will result in the desired outcome. We are already seeing positive results in only 4-5 weeks. Heel, stay commands are improving weekly. We even walk our girl and she stays closer with only a few heel commands. I am so grateful that I found Genetic K9! Chooch (1 yr old male Rottweiler) and I started private lessons with Amanda when he was about 8 months old. Chooch knew some basic commands, but I was looking for more consistency with him. Throughout the four weeks of lessons I saw dramatic changes in Chooch’s behavior. He was much more engaged with me and listened on a more consistent basis. Amanda also helped us with e-collar training which helps me keep Chooch accountable for his behavior. During each lesson Amanda really took the time to show me how to work with my dog which has allowed me to continue to make progress with him at home. We have now moved into group classes which give us the opportunity to work on Chooch’s obedience and neutrality around other dogs in a safe and controlled way. Thanks to Amanda I can take Chooch to public places and feel fully confident in his obedience. 10/10 recommend to any dog owner!!

My dog Chip and I met Amanda at her previous training facility back in January of 2022. Chip did a board a train with her for two and a half weeks. He came back a changed dog in all positive aspects. We continued weekly training and followed her to her new facility in Coram, Genetic K9.Chip loved and trusted her, which was most important to me. He continued to grow behaviorally. Chip is a small dog, 9.5 pounds. Amanda is equally skilled with training small breeds as she is with large breeds. She dedicates a great deal of her schedule to her business and to her clients. Amanda is a fantastic trainer. We entered training with our 4 month old puppy not knowing what to expect, but with Amanda’s guidance and attention to our dogs needs we have a much better behaved dog. I signed my dog up for the 4 week program 2x per week and after only 5 lessons I’ve been noticing a huge change in my dog’s behavior. My fur baby is a senior and I rescued her from euthanasia. I don’t know what her life was like before. She was terrified of dogs and scared of humans when I got her. I couldn’t recommend Genetic Canine more! I brought my 9 week old, English Cream Golden Retriever to be crated trained and they were able to get her acclimated to the crate in just one week! Our 5 year old Fox Red Lab, Pancakes, was so exuberant and reactive when encountering other dogs and people that her constant barking and hyper excited state gave the impression that she wasn’t friendly or couldn’t be trusted. This made it so difficult to take her on walks in public places or have guests and our kids’ friends visit our home. We’ve tried all the self help measures and watched so many tutorials to no avail. We signed up for the 8 week training program and are seeing amazing results only 2 weeks in (4 sessions).Amanda is amazing at what she does, she explains things throughly and clearly to make sure we are never confused on how she wants things done to see success.Our dog has guarding issues with other animals and has been this way since he was 6 months old. He is now almost 6 years old. When he was a puppy, we reached out to a trainer we used in the past with another one of our dogs and was mislead. We were told that there was nothing we can do besides deal with it. For 5 1/2 years we lived life around him and this behavior. With no experience with guarding issues, we thought we managed him well but not well enough. He was a dog that never knew better unfortunately. We wish we found Amanda sooner. 4 sessions = 4 hours of training and advice and we are already seeing more progress then we ever did in the last 5 1/2 years. This goes to show age doesn’t always matter because at almost 6 years old, he’s a different dog and seems to be less anxious with the structure that Amanda put in place for us. Once this program is finished, my wife and I already talked about signing up another one of our dogs for regular obedience!!

Amanda has trained both our Dogue De Bordeauxs. They are not food motivated and her training techniques have been extremely helpful. Amanda has established structure for our dog. We are four lessons in with four to go and a board a train for four days. We are excited to continue our training with Amanda.

Amanda (the owner) is amazing and truly wants all her clients to be successful and feel confident when it comes to training and maintenance of the skills learned. Dakota started with Amanda when she was 10 months old. We started with work on some basic skills such as recall and sit/stay as well as Place. We worked on loose leash walking as well as E-collar training. Dakota has a rare genetic condition called EDS (gets cuts/injuries easily) so the e-collar truly gives her some additional freedom and she isn’t stuck on a leash all the time. We have since joined in the group classes which have allowed us to work on enjoying time together in different public settings while practicing her skills. Every now and again we do a private session to clean up any skills that need a little extra, as well as provide new opportunities to learn and becomes successful with.I truly can not thank Amanda enough for training Dakota as it can be a challenge due to her condition. Amanda always made sure to check in frequently to make sure that nothing after a training session or during had hurt Dakota. Before I found Genetic Canine I couldnt take my 140 lbs Mastiff out for a walk without him lunging at someone. I had to limit my hours at work because every dog walker I tried to interview couldnt get close to my house without him going nuts. I love my dog, but our lives were seriously limited due to his reactive behavior. All this after 3 years of training.I brought him to the Genetic Canine facility and not only was Amanda able to approach him, she also took hold of his leash. I was so shocked, I started crying. Since then, Amanda and the staff at Genetic Canine have exposed him to people, places and other dogs. They have tweaked their training techniques to achieve specific positive responses from my dog and the transformation has been life changing.I just took my dog on a road trip from New York to Colorado. I was able to take him to rest stops and through hotel lobbies without incident. Im actually having fun with my dog and seeing the country at the same time.Thank you Amanda and the entire Genetic Canine staff.

Nothing to say but fantastic things about Amanda & the Genetic Canine team. I brought my village dog mix here last year to work through anxiety and confidence issues, and was so happy to work with a trainer that really emphasized human-handler relationships in addition to the traditional aspects of training. Was so happy with his results that I have been bringing my new dog here for obedience training as well. The facility is always absolutely spotless and they have a great shop up front with chews, raw food, and toys. Thank you!

I came to Amanda around February with my at the time 10 month old pittie mix that just needed a little direction. We did the 8 sessions with her and by the 3rd class he was like a different pups. Amanda is the best! I did the 4 week/8 session program with her and my dog Jameson. She was so knowledgeable, worked well with both me and my dog, and made each lesson fun and exciting. If you aren’t taking your dog to Genetic Canine in coram you are doing something wrong! I have been taking my Dutch Shepard to head trainer Amanda since he was 8 weeks old starting with puppy classes and then working on more advanced obedience. Amanda is by far the best dog trainer I have ever had the privilege of working with! She is so incredibly knowledgeable and teaches you in a way that you can easily understand and implement into your training regimen to create incredible results and bond with your dog. Amanda truly makes you feel like family and is always extremely attentive to getting back to you quickly regarding any questions you may have during training. A first time working Dutch Shepard owner like myself came with my challenges and John and Amanda have always been there for me to help guide me through any obstacles that I encountered. Through working with Amanda I can 100% guarantee, you will not find a more devoted, knowledgeable and passionate trainer in the area. Her years of professional dog training speak for itself and there isn’t a behavioral issue she can’t help you correct from puppy classes to high level obedience Amanda does it all and you would be doing your dog a disservice by not brining them to genetic canine! I would trust my dogs life with Amanda and have utilized her boarding facility many times and have always been more than happy knowing my dog who is my family is receiving the same love, care and attention as he would at home! By far, best dog trainer anywhere. From puppies to reactive dogs that failed prior training. Owners love her as much as the dogs. My 7 mo old puppy better trained than any of my prior 6 dogs as adults. Great real world training in public forums. Also very reasonable pricing.

Amanda is an amazing trainer. After we had issues with another facility we were bringing Charlee, Amanda stepped up and picked up right where Charlee’s puppy training left off. We have a medium sized mutt (who we love) but Amanda trains dogs of all sizes from frenchies to Belgian Malinois. Charlee has blossomed with Amanda’s training and I recommend her to anyone whether they have a new puppy or someone whose dog needs a refresher. She is approachable, makes things easy to understand and is the sweetest. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
