Nice open space for dogs to run free. A couple of smaller gated off areas too. No parking. Just pull over to side of road in front of main gates. Bring doggy bags.
Large, clean area for dogs to frolic! Surprisingly quiet for being near the subway. Theres a water fountain but didnt see if there were bowls. No designated parking but people seemed to just park on the side of the road. Friendly dog owners and dogs when we were there. There was a second area that was also gated. Another reviewer noted mosquitoes - YES, even on a dry, summy day we were swarmed, so bring bug repellent for the humans. Fun first time!
Busy dog park! It is usually packed with large dogs, leaving little roaming space for smaller dogs.Warning, there is one street light that works, at dusk. This increases the danger, since the area is secluded.
Good park. I insist all dog parents to keep an eye on the dog.
Great lil dog park. They need to fill the large hole in the back that fills up with muddy water after rain. Bring plenty of towels for cleanup.
It is fun for dogs and owners to socialize. Kept clean 90% . However, there are a few dog owners that are irresponsible with aggressive pups.
I happened to bump into this park by accident, and I cant think of any better accident to have. @Cheweries absolutely loved the park because she got to run around without being judged.
Good place to bring your dog to play. Winter time though they turn off the water so if you want to stay for an extended time be sure to bring water.Grass has really come in good now.
Please be very careful with this park. Something was sprayed on the grass that was very toxic for dogs. We got there in the morning 2 weeks ago our little pup ran into the park excited as always and began chewing and the sniffing around on the grass, within a minute or so she immediately became disoriented and fell ill. It was found that there was some type of toxins on the grass. There were no signs posted that pesticide was sprayed that morning or the night before. It was a very traumatizing experience and definitely isn’t safe for the dogs. Needless to say we have been back since and our Brooklyn is doing a bit better.
Fantastic dog park! Largest in the city. Very nice group of people and, for the most part, energetic and friendly dogs. A gret place for dogs and people to socialize!Pros: Large and small dog areas, several jumps to practice agility on, surrounded by exciting elevated trains, real grass as will as paved walkway.Cons: No running water, no parkingMy dogs and I love this park!
This is a great dog park with three sections. The first gated area is accessible from the main gate and it usually has small dogs. The main area has a track that owners and their dogs can walk or run around. And theres also a gated off area with a few pieces of doggie equipment for exercise.Theres no parking, but most people just park their car outside the park half on the sidewalk. Also, what would have been a great view of the Bay is blocked by an MTA building. But its still a great spot to let your dog go off leash.Gates are not high, but the dogs are having too much fun to try and escape. There are some extra slats to stop small dogs from escaping between bars. Sometimes its empty, but even with 15-20 dogs on a Saturday afternoon theres still plenty of room for everyone.
Well maintained space to bring your pup. Friendly people to chat with while there.
A good park for dogs providing that dogs are leashed outside of penned in dog runs. My pup was abused by wild large animals. Owners said I shouldnt be there with my pup if I dont like it. Unruly and aggressive owners / pets shouldnt rule the park.Leash your beast in the public areas of the park. Control your dogs when they are aggressive with other dogs especially when they are smaller. Follow the rules bullies.
Clean well built place with dog safety and security in mind. Has closed off areas for dogs with some social issues and a little obstacle course. Plus, it has a doggy fountain and plastic bag holders everywhere. Only issue would be owners who bring unsociable dogs into the main area.
Total park for doggies, off leash
This is the largest dog run in the city. There are three separate runs including an agility area. In the summer make sure to wear strong mosquito repellent as mosquitoes are a huge problem here due to its location.
This dog park is right in front of where I work sometimes on the tracks. The parks department did a wonderful job improving it over the years since it was a regular park that no one went to. Be warned though, there is no official parking. People are actually all parking on NYCT property so something should be worked out.
Nice clean park with plenty of room for your dog(s) run free. The people you meet are friendly as are their dogs. There are also dogs of all sizes to that love to play.
This is a great place to let your dog run around. So many local residents put so much time energy and effort to make this place what it is. Not usually crowded.
Very spacious and filled with friendly people and dogs. Though the area could use better maintenance (i.e. cut grass) overall nice park to bring your furry friend to.
Lots of space for dogs to play. Bit empty during the week but lots of dogs on weekends. A couple of fenced off areas for poorly socialized dogs so everyone can have a good time!
Best dog run/park in NYC. Worth the trip out there, lot of friendly people and dogs. Big space, 3 separate closed off areas for the unsocial. Really nice and well maintained.
Wonderful large dog park with a small obstacle course section, larger general section and small dog section. Very friendly people and dogs on Sunday afternoon.
Took my dog its nice and big but to many mosquitoes.i was there 5 minutes and got bit all over. Ihad to leave.they should spray the place to get rid of some of them is too much.
Some little dogs barked up a stirm. Thank God tgere was a fence. Never had a problem but they were vicious and the owner just laughed. Not a friendly day there.Otherwise its ok but Ill stay outside, the boardwalk & beach
I love taking my dog here he has a wonderful time and nobody discriminates against big dogs. So my big boy gets to play with everybody. Plus private gated area for single dog play
Multiple enclosed areas for different dogs. The pets and owners that come here are the best Ive ever experienced at any dog park..
Our dog always loves going. Has two sections so if your dog is a little shy they can play in their own section away from the main area.
Great place to take you dog. Everyone who goes their dogs are friendly. Its clear and theres plenty of space for your dog to run around.
Love this park. Great open space for running and playing. It also has a doggie playground. Nice place for dogs (and their humans) to socialize.
It appeared to be a nice dog park in general. When compared to other dog parks in Queens, NY, this seems to be smaller with less activities for our four-legged companions.
Biggest dog park around. There is pretty much no lighting here but otherwise its a great place to bring the pup. The regulars are very welcoming as well.
Nice place, plenty of room for the dogs to run around, water fountain, and bags to pick up after them. Recommended.
Well maintained & such a big space! I’m so happy this is available for my old guy. He acts like a puppy again when we visit.
Its a great dog park in the Rockaway midtown area. Off season is great, this time of the year tends to humid and muggy there - mosquitoes are a bit overwhelming!
This is a nice little dog park especially with summer coming my little Jack Russell Bandit Wants to always go after the biggest baddest dog in the park so I’m kinda of forced to keep him in the smaller dog pen.
Excellent. Humanitary Service For The Little Guys (Puppy). Vaccinations Were Low Cost To Nearly Being Free. Thank You!!
They had free vaccines for dogs and cats :-) grateful to be able to vaccinate my dogs. Many showed up...good turn out!
Great dog park, great for 🐕, not so much for humans lots of mosquitoes.
Excellent Experience. Cool spot for your dog to run around and make friends.
This is a great dog park. Lots of green grass and lots of space. Awesome dog park.
Super sad place. No safe parking. Poor drainage in some areas when it rains. Major mosquito problem in the summer!!!
Good space and separate erea for dogs who dont get along or dont play well with others but a good spot overall
I only pass by because I work for NYC Parks, so its my job to clean this place up.
Still no restrooms. Needs some TLC from parks dept. And parking is still an issue.
Poorly maintained by park dept. Grass is so high it obscures metal sculptures. Dogs can get hurt. Avoid.
Rarely used park turned into a dog park about 10 years ago. Its modest, not crowded and clean.
Very well maintained
Great Park, three separate sections to separate large and small dogs, or to give time outs, lol.
Dogs love it. Plan on getting dirty. Mud puddles and poop and strong jumpers.
Clean , grass sometimes a little long and other owners sometimes arrogant but still hlad to have
Awesome dog run, we will come back again.
This is by far the largest Dog Park in NYC & in my humble opinion it is also hands down the most beautiful.
Nice dog park, has separate areas for different dogs.
Nice, long spaces for the dog to run.
I like it better since the divided into three parts. The park still feels large
Enormous dogpark that is delightfully under utilized. Our dog gives it 5 paws up.
Its great now my dog knows how to run free with other dogs
What a nice place for a peaceful morning afternoon or evening of relaxing doggy play
Good playground for your dogs
Love taking my dog here.... everyone is so friendly.
I am ejoyed a lot it is a beutifull plece , but thosent had batrrom
Floods when it rains but overall decent size. Good for me, let alone the dog.
As always i enjoy taking pictures here. Very peaceful
Nice dog park.Plenty of space for dogs to run around.
Nice view from the train and you can see JFK Airport from the train
Always a good time for our Blake. With the warmer weather the run has a good amount of dogs. Sections for aggressive dogs separate from the main run, I never have to worry that hes in danger. Theres also an agility area sectioned off. Great people and wonderful atmosphere. Really a great place to let him get out that extra energy! Highly recommend this place.
Spacious and so far the dogs are friendly.
Fences not very strong. Good for small dogs.
My Dog Magic Loves It Here.... We Go Every Chance We Get
A great big park with two fenced off areas for smaller or less social dogs, this place is fantastic for my very social young retriever mix. I have found a nice group of dogs and people at most times we have gone. However, beware of mosquitoes, especially in the late afternoon and evening. I always put spray on before I go and am usually OK.
Loved how spacious this dog park was!
Great place for your dog to run free
Nice and clean. Beautiful park. My puppy loves it
A good place to take your dog people are friendly
Very buggy this time of year
What a great place. Its location is ideal. Its not near private homes or apartments so a little social barking is OK. So much room to run and play. Everyone picks up after their little darlings so its nice an clean. My pooch and I love it there. Well fenced so no need to worry about running out onto the street.
Open field closed off with two separate calm down parks attached.
Drove 10 miles (40 mins) to this dog park only to find out it closed in July for reconstruction and wont re-open until early 2017. -_- wish someone would have left that in a review. Now you know! Otherwise, it looks like a good park!
Amazingly friendly dogs all breeds😍😍😍
We had a great time at the dog park
This is one of my favorite beach, it was so nice, I spent my sunday there, it was clean, well organized and fountains on the sidewalk.
The dog run is ok my dog max loves it hes like kid wanting to go to the amusement park if he had his way he would go every day
Awesome day back at the Dog Run
Safe place for dogs to play free
Best dog run in Rockaway. Dogs are all awesome and some of their humans companions are good too
Number one dog-friendly dog run in NYC!
Good size local dog park
Its not a proper dog park. Its just a fenced area in the middle of cars, trains and so on.It smells awful and honestly looks like an abandoned junkie park.It has broken glass in the bench area.Do not recommend it at all!
Great place lots of room for dogs to run and play!
A lot of space for your dogs to run!
Amazing place for dogs and to meet friendly dog lovers
Great Place for your puppy:)
Excellent Experience for my Dog 🐕
Nice place first time there with my dogs
My dog loves it the only problem is there was nowhere to park and its getting even harder to park because police are threatening to ticket people who Park on the edge of the sidewalk
Great place, great dogs and great ppl
Nice wide open run!
Nice place to visit with your dog
Great landscape, friendly people
