Please DO NOT use their online pharmacy that this clinic uses for prescription medication. They increased the price of the medication by 50.00 from one month to the next without notice. I know that this online pharmacy is a third party company, but they fact that this clinic is using them as their online pharmacy and encouraging the pet owners to use them, they also share responsibility for their business practice. I will not be using them again in the future.

Dr Cassano has been so kind and attentive to helping treat Finn! She calls to check in on him and gets us in to see him when he needs to quickly! We can’t thank her enough for her time, attention and care! The entire staff is so friendly and treat Finn like their own pet and are happy to see him when we come in!

I have just moved into the Fishkill area and my pup swallowed a stick today which got stuck on the roof of his mouth. Thank you to East Fishkill Animal Hospital who had me bring him in and were able to get it out. The vet and staff were compassionate and professional. I highly recommend this veterinary practice.

I had been going to Dr. LaVacca and Dr. Knapp for years. They were the most compassionate and loving vets that I had ever been to. My dog Lola was so well taken care of by them. But as I understand it, they were bought by a corporation. The new owners, vets and vet techs are not compassionate and truly didn’t care about Lola the way Dr. LaVacca and Dr. Knapp cared for her. Long story short, I had to make an emergency appointment because Lola had an ear infection. Lola has always had ear infections but they couldn’t get me in on the regular schedule a month prior, so I had to make an emergency visit. They put a medication in her ears and sent her back out to me with the medication dripping down the sides of her face. I asked them if they could clean her up a bit but they REFUSED. So I asked if I could buy a bonnet (which Lola has worn previously for hematoma surgeries). I wanted a bonnet just to get her home so the medicine didn’t all come out. But they refused to give me a bonnet and told me that they could give me a towel to wrap around her head for the ride home. Lola did not feel well because of the ear infection and they made us stand outside in the parking lot in the pouring rain. I was so upset and hysterical crying. Needless to say, I never went back. I have a new vet now and I couldn’t be happier. This new corporation that bought East Fishkill Animal Hospital, should be SHUT DOWN. They have no interest in taking care of our animals the way that they should be taken care of. As for the old staff, the way that they were let go from their career, was beyond unprofessional. They send out mass emails to people that had been working there for 25 years or longer to tell them they were no longer needed. All I can say is, DO NOT bring your animals to this facility if you want to be treated with respect and most of all, to have your pets taken care of the way they deserve. If I could give them less than one star, I would.

All of our experiences here have been kind, compassionate and met all of our expectations.

After reading some of these reviews I had become hesitant. I came here last month because my new puppy was not feeling well.I didn’t have an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in that same day within 2 hours. They were extremely helpful and kind to me and my dog. The prices were fair, within that being an emergency visit it didn’t hurt my pockets.They were able to help my puppy get better and put her on antibiotics that same day.I came back today for a check up and update for vaccines for the pup. The staff and Vet were so kind and answered all my questions.I didn’t know the previous owners of this practice but I’m just letting everyone else know it went well for us.

Staff is always friendly and helpful, in person and over the phone, and they treat my dog very kindly. Any vet that Ive interacted there over the years is excellent and gentle. Highly recommend.

I just love this place! It feels like family when you come here with your animal. The women in the front desk, the vets, and techs are so compassionate. They take great care of our dog here. They are not after your money and truly just care. I definitely recommend this place. ❤️Thank you all for your hard work. EF Animal Hospital has taken such great care of our animals for many years. Courtney and all the techs and staff are so kind and patient with my extremely anxious, very large 1 year old puppy. I appreciate all the time and care they take to help her feel comfortable at her visits.

Weve been bringing our pets here since 2012 and I really hate writing this review, but EFAH is nothing like it used to be. After being sold, you now have to wait weeks, sometimes months, for appointments no matter how urgent it is and the prices have more than doubled (my dogs surgery 1 1/2 years ago there was approx. $800...the same surgery now was quoted to me at $1400+...had his surgery done at another vets office -that Im so happy that I found-2 weeks ago and it was $765 and they saw my dog right away). Almost all of the employees that worked there before (for years) are gone and they no longer have the kennel (and I knew that our pets were well-taken care of at the kennel...never had any worries). The only reason that I didnt give it fewer stars is because Dr. K. is still there and shes an excellent vet.

During this crazy time of social distancing, I called to get my dogs heart worm and flea and tic medicine refilled. The staff was very helpful and figured out the cost so I could pay via credit card and just pick up the meds once the order is ready. I am so glad I found this practice when I moved to Hopewell. They are very caring and go above and beyond to help their customers and care for our pets.

Cant rate them high enough! The entire staff is friendly and caring. They all do what they do for the right reasons. They have almost adopted our cat Mischief as an office mascot. We actually drive by several other vets to get to them, theyre that awesome! We would never consider another vets office.

We’ve been going to EFAH for over 15 years. They have always taken great care of our dogs and cat. We also board our pets there. Kari, who runs the kennel, goes above and beyond, and treats all the animals like her own. All vets and staff are personable, professional and kind.

My experience there...well first time there was a sad one it was to say a final goodbye to my dog that had past away a little over an hour prior. I had left work and rushed home to be with my family. The hospital staff was telling my family they were leaving due to bad weather but when I arrived amazingly a couple staff members were still there. So after pleading for a couple minutes to let me in to see my dog they brought me in and was able to have a few minutes to say my final goodbyes to my beloved pet.My mother has brought our pet to them over the last couple years and she has said they are great there. Sorry for putting a sad review on here but as for me they made me (in a sense feel better) by allowing me to have final moments to say goodbye. Based on that experience I would recommend using this hospital.

Dr. McCord and staff were very attentive to my dog and all my questions. The Dr was able to figure out what was causing my dogs cough when other vets couldnt. They truly care about your pets and have the expertise I was looking for! I highly recommend East Fishkill Animal Hospital. The prices are reasonable too, for this area!

Dr. Knapp is the best! All of the staff are caring and compassionate! They always make time for any questions. When our Jessy died suddenly, they not only stayed late, but cried with us! I wouldnt bring Jake anywhere else!

Weve been taking our pets to East Fishkill animal hospital for around 15-20 years. They have been great with our pets, and caring towards us. They are the ones we trust with our furbabies!

My dog Mocha was really sick with diabetes.Due to a terminally ill family member and the expenses associated with that,I didnt have funds enough to get my precious dog to the vet.... selflessly,they agreed to see her anyway,and were able to work out a arrangement anyway.They are to me the only choice to bring any pet family member to.The reputation speaks for itself as multiple generations of families bring their pets there.Care is exceptional.Wouldnt know what to do without them.

Absolutely love them. They were wonderful with not only me but everyone else there. They took amazing care of my Kinsy, and made me feel comfortable and at ease. HIGHLY recommend them to anyone.

After two surgeries and over $8,000 on my 16 year old dog the surgeon couldnt even have the compassion or sensitivity to come out and speak to me. He is too good to leave the surgery room. They try and cram as many surgeries as possible into one day so he cant spare 5 minutes to speak to a patient. Inconsiderate and would not recommend!UPDATE - They had the nerve to call back within a half an hour of me leaving the review stating they were disturbed that I would leave a negative review because the surgeon wouldnt talk to me. After all the surgeon did for my dog....First of all - the only reason they even called back was because the lady supposedly was contacted by their regional manager. The doctor himself nor the surgeon could be bothered to call back they had to have one of their employees call. To have her say she was disturbed after all they have done is absolutely absurd. They were well compensated for the procedures that were performed its not like the surgeon said hey this ones on me! The worst part is they cant even speak to you in person but they sure are quick to make a phone call after a negative review!

After this place was sold it became a impersonal place new faces old vets gone plus high prices They did not do a minor procedure properly .I asked for an appointment as I waited for weeks and felt they should handle it. I was told to wait again and was treated rudely by the administrator who refused to give me a timely appointment. I said I would leave for another veterinarian practice after decades there, administrator could care less. Found another veterinarian got an appointment and am happy to be gone.

I use to love this place under Dr. Mccord who made you feel welcome and take care of your pet. Since he retired this year the place has gone down hill. I called last week because my dog had a major health issue going on and i knew she was dying. I call the hospital and receptionist tells me i need an appointment and next one was 10 am two hours later. So i call up other hospitals and no one is around. East fishkill then tells me to drive out to Brewster emergency clinic when we call back which is 45 mins away. My wife then gets a vet on phone about an hour later who tells us to come in while hearing receptionist tell vet that she told her that she told her she needed appointment. So ultimately my dog passed away and get bill for almost $700 and kicker is 125 of it is for cpr. Thanks for nothing but delayed care.

This place is terrible. They are highly disorganized and are far from helpful. Their out of date medical practices are only highlighted by the fact that it takes 24 hours to 7 days to send medical records to other veterinarians. Due to the fact that none of the staff knows how to use the internet or a fax machine. Their lack of veterinary knowledge and compassion led to an 8 week recovery for my dog. Which possibly could of been avoided if there was more up to date testing performed which would of led to appropriate medications. Instead my dog was given a medication that they thought would help on their guess as to what the problem was. Thankfully I brought my dog elsewhere. To think that my dog might not of made a full recovery because they are completely incompetent is unacceptable and saddening. In the future none of my pets, or the pets of my friends and family will be going there. They are part of our family, and this place does not seem to care. They may have lower prices, but keep in mind you get what you pay for.

I have used EFAH for almost 20years. Dr McCord and his staff have always provided wonderful care to my animals. They have always worked me in when Ive had an emergency, and kept me updated on my pets progress. I have no complaints

This place is horrible. The vet techs that work there are either unlicensed or are mediocre. They are old and washed up, been there 20+ years EACH, its time for new staff. The receptionist are unhelpful and it takes DAYS to hear back from them. Not to mention Kari in the kennel is CRAZY. Lauren in the kennel is unprofessional and COVERED in tattoos..she seemed high when I dropped my dog off and I was afraid to leave my dog with her...Alicia is the only semi decent one in the kennel but regardless I would not board my dog there EVER AGAIN. It seems like they will hire anyone off the street without question. I used to be a frequent client..not anymore. There are PLENTY of vet offices in the area that are at a higher level of care, compassion and ability. Hopewell Animal Hospital, Hudson Highlands, ACE Veterinary and thats just in a 5 mile radius of Hopewell. THINK BEFORE YOU USE EAST FISHKILL ANIMAL HOSPITAL.

Be advised, this practice has completely changed. Dr. McCord, Dr. Gonzalez, Dr. Knapp, Dr. D’Agnese, and all the original veterinarians are no longer there. I brought in my beloved pet to be treated for a very grave condition and the vet did not address his obvious issues and only subjected the poor animal to a host of unnecessary tests, medications and special food. All I wanted was to save my pet and instead I tortured the poor thing. I would suggest one other veterinary hospital but if I do Google maps will block this review.

Dr. Knapp and all the vet techs are so good with my Doxie. He can be a handful but he seems so calm in their care. Of all the vets I have been to in the HV - by far the medical care and staff are one of the best.

Too many reasons to list why you should avoid this place. The new owners are terrible. Prices went way up. Kennel is now shut down. All the old (pleasant, helpful, caring) staff are gone. I dont recommend this place to anyone!!!

I absolutely love this animal hospital. I moved into town last year and first tried the place on the other side of town and had a terrible experience with a mis-diagnosis. I then came to the east fishkill animal hospital and Dr.Mccord knew what my dogs issue was without running all the 20 tests the other place made me pay for! He seems to be the most knowledgeable and honest vet around and clearly cares for the animals above all else. The staff was caring and friendly as well. Im never going anyplace else! Thanks!!

I brought my puppy to see Dr McCord and all I can say he is the most compassionate veterinarian I have ever met he took such good care of my biscuit and spent well over an hour with me explaining every little detail to me and my daughter, not one question went unanswered. I am so happy to have Dr McCord take care of my puppy, o and the prices are great....highly recommended

We just moved to the area and wanted to get established with a new veterinarian. Friendly and professional staff. We have found just what we were looking for.

We have been a client for over 25 years, Ever since this new company took over they could care less about your animal, its all about the money, We called with a emergency situation and was told its a week out to be seen, this was a emergency, not a checkup, what the hell good is a animal hospital if they cant make a few minutes for a emergency? They would rather let your pet die !! Then they blamed it on COVID, they said we have un vaccinated employees and had to close for a week due to possible exposure... Well maybe your employees should be vaccinated since your in a essential emergency business, or maybe find another job !! Dr. McCord ran a great ship, its terrible to see how poorly it has become. Will NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND !

Moved to Dutchess County and established my dog w this Vet for annual visit and shots. Brought the scripts my dog was on for anxiety to show for when refill needed. Called a couple months later for refill and Vet refused- said she didn’t realize alprazolam (Xanax) was a controlled substance—- really ?? She wouldn’t call in refill and we had to go all the way back to previous vet... long ride for an old dog w anxiety. Won’t ever go back and recommend skipping tho place

Both my Shrink-A-Bull (Bruno) and my Victorian Bulldog (Brody) LOVED / LOVE going to EF Animal Hospital. Unfortunately Bruno passed away very young, but the entire staff provided excellent care and LOVED him until the end.When it comes to Brody, he is always greeted with HUGS AND LOVE AND ENTHUSIASM from the staff. Dr. Knapp, Dr. Collins and Dr. Gonzalez have all become a part of our family. The love they show Bruno has carried right over to Brody.I cant say enough about these AMAZING women!

They are amazing and so good to my doggone. He is a rescue and super high strung and hard to train but they manage his issues and are so kind to us both

The only problem now is that we can not go in with Elvis and it is difficult to get an appointment with the doctor bc of Covid19. I need the paper work from his blood work. When the time comes, I want to be with Elvis when he is put to sleep. He will need me with him. I dont want a technician to do it. I know this time is very difficult and we appreciate the fact that the office is being very careful about spreading the Covid.

I have been going to them for many years.Have had many good experiences with them, they quick to accommodate you if are having a problem your animal or their service.

This place has new owners they have no empathy for these animals. There bedside manner is horrible. You call to get your dog in because he isnt feeling well, they tell me they cant see my dog for two days. If i wanted to bring him in that day he would have to stay in a cage untill my dog could be seen. That business wont last. Although i have been bringing my dog here for 15yrs and this place is up the road from me very convenient I rather go to Newburgh 30 minutes away. The prior doctors were wonderful and caring, they will be missed. I will never bring my dog to this vet ever again.

Been bringing my pets here for as long as I have had pets. The entire staff is always accommodating, friendly and thorough with them. I have a very nervous large dog and they always go above and beyond to make sure he is comfortable and safe.

I called to have my parents dog looked at in order to obtain a certificate to fly. The lady who answered was very courteous and at first said she’s not sure if they are taking in appointments but will check, she did and was able to fit me in for an appointment right away. Very friendly.My reasoning for 4 stars, I called a second time for cost and the lady who answered was a bit obnoxious and not too friendly. She wasn’t allowing me to speak and she was just speaking over me, I felt like she didn’t want to help. She put me on hold, came back on the line and gave me my answer. She then apologized for her way of speaking to me.

Animal friendly , very helpful and caring staff

If your pets are sick this animal hospital will let them die. Theyre not compassionate and honestly they just want your money. Ive had two dogs die on their watch. They over medicate, they misdiagnose, and then when they start to go they do nothing. The veterinarians are careless and not capable of treating these animals. Most recently, my father called at 630am with an emergency. They told him to wait in the parking lot till they opened at 9am. He dropped off the dog and by 3pm he died of a seizure as a result of 2 insulin shots from diabetes. He was there 3 weeks prior to have a cyst drained and no one knew he had diabetes. They just let him die. And then when I questioned the veterinarian she got defensive, disrespectful, and just cold. She needs to find a new profession and this animal hospital needs to close.

I left this animal hospital YEARS ago because I felt that it was all about the money. I had problems with misdiagnosing as well and there is no room for error when it comes to my precious fur babies! Yes, they are probably the cheapest veterinarian service around this area, but I would not go back there if you paid me. Unfortunately they have had some very good doctors working for them over the years but they always end up leaving. Bottom line is Dr. McCord is the owner and I had bad experiences with him that led me to never go back! In fact I have been using someone who used to work in this office that went out on their own and she is AWESOME! I would say her name, but Im not sure I am allowed when posting for this review.
