We love Dan’s Pet service as do our pets! We have 2 labradoodles and a tuxedo cat. We have used Dan’s for a couple of years now for overnights, walks, feeding, medicine dispensing, as well as rides to the groomer. The walkers and sitters always send us the cutest photos and sweet updates on how they are doing while we are gone. It gives us peace of mind that our animals are being cared for as we would care for them. They always respond and are even available last minute. Dan’s is a pleasure to work with and we are grateful for their care and services!

I first started using Dans Pet Care when I had surgery and was unable to walk my dog. It was unexpected surgery so I had to get help quickly. They were very accommodating. They were very professional - on time, very good with him, and tired him out!Since then I have been receiving their emails about their services and gain valuable dog care tips along the way! For example, how they limit their walks when it is excruciatingly hot outside.When the time came for me to find help while I went to work, I knew where I wanted to bring my now 2 pups! They had opened their crate free boarding & day care facility! And even though I do not live close by, it is 100% worth the investment and travel time. They have multiple team members with all eyes on the dogs. The facility is set up so they have tons of room to run and play. It is super clean. They are upfront and honest about everything going on in their facility and well organized. I have also boarded my dogs overnight there. They were snuggled up on a bed! Looked like a slumber party! They pay attention to detail with every dog. One of my dogs has a lot of allergies and I dont have to worry about her getting into anything she shouldnt and dont have to worry about them giving her anything she shouldnt have either. The best part is how excited and loving everyone there is and how excited my pups are to spend time there! I get daily report cards and pictures which further adds to my peace of mind. Dans is an extremely reliable dog walking service! I have been using their services for years and have never had a problem. The notes that the walkers send summarizing their visit with my dog are always fabulously detailed and delightful, and the pictures they send of my dog on his walk are very reassuring!I dont hesitate to recommend this service to anyone!

When traveling or away for the day, weve relied on Dans to walk, feed, play with and visit our two dogs, a lab and a multipoo. One staff member is kinder and more professional than the next, and the dogs are treated like THEIR family members. Weve done several overnights, all of which have been great. We especially love the app, which allows us to easily make appointments and receive detailed updates about the visits with our dogs. They even include photos. We never have a worry when someone from Dans is with our dogs. And, they treat our home with respect and care. This is one of my favorite businesses of all time!

This review pertains only to cat care and visits. Dans is not cheap but the people show up when they are supposed to, they treat my cats like princesses and I will use them again and again. Cindy, the lady most in charge or kitties, is a cat whisperer as far as Im concerned. She is wonderful.

Our trainer, Neville, goes above and beyond during every session with our puppy, Nala, to ensure that we are learning right along with her. You could tell he truly loves what he does - hes so enthusiastic, writes comprehensive reviews, takes adorable pictures of her progress, and always goes the extra mile to make sure we feel reassured and at ease!

Started off with a great experience with Dan’s. My husband and I used them for about 6 months. We started getting really frustrated when we kept having our dog walkers changed on us. Every week was someone new and it was very stressful letting someone new into your home to take care of your dog never having met them. When we asked them to keep it consistent for the sake of our dog, they told us they understood but then it kept happening. We had about a total of 8 dog walkers in the time we used them. We had a few bad experiences with dog walkers at Dan’s, one who used our bathroom the whole time instead of caring for our dog and another one also not knowing how to put on our dogs harness on so 20 minutes of our walk time was used on that. Also had a bad experience with a dog sitter they insisted on giving us and then fired her the next day. Unfortunately, Dan’s wants to grow their business so fast that they neglect to hire people who aren’t in it just for the money. Not always the case that you’ll have someone who comes into your home and cares for your dog how you’d expect. The animals should come first not the money. Just our opinion. Would not recommend them.

Weve had a fantastic experience training our younger dog with Kurt from Dans Pet Care over the past several months. He has become so much more confident and relaxed, as well as easier to manage on leash and out in public. I am truly grateful to Kurt for all of his help in training our dog and, equally importantly, guiding me to become a better handler for him. I would recommend him to anyone and will plan to work with him again for any additional training needs!

Dan’s takes wonderful care of our dog. We’ve used them for training and walks, and now for cage free boarding. Our dog loves her handlers!

Kurt you are the best!! Sorry I had to say that before I started this review. Dans Pet Care is absolutely amazing. My fiance and I were looking for a trainer for our 5 month old puppy Moose, who is a 14lb teddy bear breed. We had 8 sessions (group training) with Kurt and he helped us out so much with training Moose. The next day after every session we would receive a write up from Kurt providing a full recap of our training session and suggest how many times per week we should practice/use those trainings. Just overall a great experience. We also plan on using the other services that Dans Pet care offers. They are literally a one stop shop for all pet services.

Dans took care of our two dogs almost their entire lives and they were truly amazing with our dogs and always went the extra mile to accommodate are busy schedule.

All of the walkers take exceptional care of my special needs senior dog. You can tell that that they are all genuinely kind people. We also receive photos and very detailed reports daily, which we truly appreciate.

Im on week 3 or 4 of working with Dans Pet Care for training with my 4 month old puppy, and I couldnt be happier and more impressed. My dog and I have already learned so much - hes much less reactive to noises, people, things on the street and his loose lease walking is getting so much better. Weve also worked on not jumping and getting settled and calm to greet friends - my friends and family have even commented on how much difference they can see. Dan and his team are all so awesome and really care for Kingston. Theyve taken the time to have the trainer over and suggest some things that have helped during his walks. Theyve also had multiple walkers meet Kingston in advance so he feels more comfortable when they come into our home. I have been using Dans Dog Walking and Pet Sitting since I adopted my two puppies last December. Dan and his employees have accomodated me every time I have needed help, no matter how last minute. My dogs absolutely love Dan and his walkers, and my mind is always at ease when they are there. They provide detailed descriptions of the visit, and let me know via Email when my appointment starts and ends. Their prices are affordable even for a broke college student like me! The business is very well run. Communication is seemless regardless if it’s related to scheduling, training, billing etc. Most importantly the training process is excellent. Stephanie , our trainer, is top notch. Her approach is no nonsense and it is working for our dog, Ellie. Stephanie is really training us on how to raise a puppy. It requires time and commitment on our part but with her guidance we are seeing the importance of training for Ellie’s safety and our sanity!

We love Dan’s Dog Walking! We’ve been using them for about 3.5 years, and we’ve never had any problems. They are very reliable, always come within the set midday window, have been very flexible and able to set up last minute walks, late nights walks, etc. But most important of all, all of the walkers seem to be “crazy dog people” like us! Iggy is happy to see them when they come and they give him lots of love and attention.

I have a very active, but lovable, Golden Retriever. Dan’s Dog Walking and Pet Sitting are just terrific with him. I love this service. What I really like, besides how kind they are to my dog, how professional they are on the phone, and how reliable they are, is that I get notifications on when they arrive to walk my doggie and then the follow-up when the walk is completed. This gives me so much comfort and the follow-up messages from the walkers give me the facts and then something special about the walk! It doesn’t get better than that. If you are looking for a reliable and professional pet sitter, I highly recommend Dan’s Dog Walking and Pet Sitting of Port Washington. I was a first time user and was thrilled with the care my cat received. I have used others before, but this was the most personal and dependable. I had constant updates, pictures and access to the people caring for my cat. They arrived early in the morning, left the house in perfect condition, and spent quality time trying to bond with my shy cat.

They know their business, provide everything from walking, pet sitting and even training. We have 2 new pups (now 9mo old) that get walked every day (they are always so excited to see Erin!) and we also are doing training with Stephanie. She is truly a dog whisperer!! Amazing results!I have done my due diligence on just about every company in my area and they are definitely a cut above the rest. You can download the app on your phone, see what time your dog walker arrived, as well as the route they went on and when the dogs returned home. A note is also added on the app so you know if any unusual events happened and if they peed/pooped, etc. on their walk. Very nice feature! Of course if something is truly wrong, they place a call right away to primary and secondary people listed on the account, followed by a text. They are on top of it!!!!Extremely knowledgeable about their business, as well as accommodating. Alex has spent so much time helping us and guiding us and giving his expert advice. Anyone you speak with is extremely friendly and willing to help. Very responsive too! Simply, THE BEST!

Stephanie really helped me train my dog, Oreo. I am a first-time doggie mama and needed help getting Oreo to “do her business” on the pad when she couldn’t be walked. It took several weeks, but Stephanie was patient, knowledgeable and encouraging. I highly recommend Stephanie and her ability to train any dog!

We worked with Stephanie for training with our golden retriver puppy named Harley. The dog was jumping on people and not responsive to commands. Stephanie worked with Harley and now the puppy lies down when she is out for a walk and people pass her on the sidewalk. They are amazed and comment on how well behaved she is around people. Thank god I found this company! My dog waits by the window every day around the time his scheduled walk is set to begin. He is filled with joy and excitement when he sees Danny & Mike because he knows his favorite part of the day is about to begin. This company is really focused on their customer service and so attentive to any questions or concerns that may arrive! I can easily text them to add an extra walk or to let them know any specifics about my dog that day. They use an app that lets you know when your walk starts, the path that was taken and when the walk ended. The best part is that they take pictures of your dog while on the walk and write a little summary afterwards on how it went. I really look forward to these messages!

This is a wonderful--really wonderful--company. My dog loves her dog walkers. They send me emails everyday summarizing the walk to let me know how my dog was and whether there was any issues I should be aware of. Ive called them in a pinch when I was unexpectedly away and they took care of my dog. They are just great.

Our 7 year old Yorkie took their at home training course and they were able to give us tips and new commands to help us with his anxiety with people and barking. They also helped with his potty training in our new apartment. They showed us a dog can learn new tricks at any age. They were professional at all times and responsive any time we reached out. I see their crew in my apartment complex all the time walking dogs and they make sure to keep the area clean and are respectful of other people with their dogs. Highly recommend!!

Amazing service! Such a HUGE help for me!! Im away at work for 8-12 hours a day, and with a small dog, I need someone to come by, play with him a bit, and make sure he takes care of his business outside. Without having a friend or a family member in the area, I called up Dan, and now have someone coming by five days a week to walk my dog and keep him entertained for a bit. Cant recommend this service enough if you have pets that need attention if you work long hours, or are away from home often.

Do not trust this service!!!!! When I first met the team they seemed very nice and I felt comfortable with letting them into my home to care for my two dogs. The first time I used the service everything went well, then they started sending people into my home that I had never met (something they told me they would never do) then I noticed on my home security camera that not only was there a stranger in my home but he did not even take my dogs out for a walk as I had clearly requested when I scheduled the service! I let them know that I was not ok with that and they gave me a credit for the walk, on using the credit last night the walker never even showed up!! My poor 5 month old puppy was in his crate crying to be let out, no-one answers the phone- I finally got Dans phone number from a friend and he tried telling me some story about why he was late (over 45 minutes) and how my service was scheduled at a later time anyways which was not true. I will never be using this service again, they can not and should not be trusted in your homes or to do the simple tasks such as walking your dog or even showing up - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!

Dans Dog Walking is trustworthy, reliable, caring, and there is no better service around! Dan, the owner, accommodated our multitude of requests without a problem. His employees are spectacular, and clearly love dogs. In all kinds of weather, they were there.

Our 2 female dogs love Dans dog walkers. And I appreciate how easy it is to contact Dans office.A few months back several of our trains home were suddenly canceled. I was totally stressed not knowing when we could get home & care for our dogs. I called Dans office staff and easily arranged for someone to go our house to give our dogs a potty break. This really lessened my worry and aggravation with our transportation problems.

Their cat sitter was wonderful! She sent me cute photos of eating and playing and a nice note. Since we were in Europe I felt I didn’t have to worry at all even if a serious issue came up for my 17 year old cat! As a great bonus, she watered my houseplants and they were well taken care of. I couldn’t have been happier and it was less expensive than boarding, which my cat always hated! They were amazing, they obviously love pets, and were very responsible.

Neville has been training our goldendoodle for only two weeks now, but we have seen remarkable improvement in his behavior, his ability to follow commands, and his reactivity toward other dogs and distractions. Great service that I highly recommend. My little boy is not easy, and has a very short list of people he will tolerate. Somehow Jared managed to win him over and I have great peace of mind that my boy is in good hands when I can not be there to walk him. Ive been using Dans Pet Care for years and Im so happy to be able to rely on them.Most recently, I needed a back- up plan in case I was going to be admitted to the hospital after a procedure. They were there for me. It was such a relief to know that I would have care for my cats, if I needed it.

I use this service for 1 half hour walk per day during the week. My dog is well adjusted, content, and relaxed when I arrive home. They report daily on a summary of what transpired during the walk including at least 3 photos of my dog to my email/mobile device. The staff are caring and quite professional. I highly recommend using this service. They are savy with using technology to stay in communication.

Dans is the best. The walkers are professional friendly and take care of our very particular senior golden retriever. They are available on a moments notice and come out in all weather and any time day or night weekend or holiday. I have used Dans dog walking for 10 years and have nothing but a wonderful experience.

For the record, I do not use Dans myself and for a few reasons but this one was worth mentioning.Many of my friends and family use Dans and I really wish theyd use regular leashes that they could wrap around their hand or hook onto a belt for extra security. It makes me so nervous that they use those retractable leashes like amateurs. If a dog decides to try and take off, that thing is gonna slip right through the walkers fingers.I see the employees all over Long Island and many of them are texting while walking or keeping the dogs on very long leashes not paying attention. I havent found the right dog walker for myself yet but I would use Dans if they did a few things differently and safer. For now they get 3 stars for lack of training in proper dog walking.

I had 3, maybe 4 people come in for an eval for my dog back to back. Couldnt fit schedules or just wasnt what I needed. I was starting to give up on my search yet again. One promised me that shed get my dog to sit (as he is sitting) and another wanted me to board him for 6 weeks. Sir, I just want him to stop yelling at the doorbell. Enter Stephanie from Dans Dog Walking, 3 visits later and no more bounding on the door when the doorbell rings or disrupting the entire neighborhood so every other house knows to check their doors too. She is fantastic at what she does and my dog is not exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Dogs vary, but CALL. THEM.

We started using Dans recently becuase my wife was unable to walk our dog after knee surgery. Dan was very helpful and accomdating to us on short notice. Highly recommended!!

They are very professional and know the steps to take in meeting and dealing with new clients. They were very thorough and made meeting my lab Laslo feel comfortable and gaining his trust. Dan was on the floor waiting patiently for Laslo to gain his trust. Las came back happy from his walk. Dan took his time which meant a lot to us.

We always feel Very Very comfortbale using Dans Petcare for our cat Rudy. Annie does an Amazing Amazing job and really cares for our cat when we travel. I cant tell you how comfortbale we feel getting updates from Annie with each visit and the pictures she send us that hes happy and safe and sound. Highly Highly reccomended and we will always use them. Also Every pet sitter at Dans is very strict and dilegent with entering them home and locking up and the security of your home and pet. I was more than satisfied with this service. They go beyond dependable and reliable to little niceties I didn’t expect. They knew I was under doctors’ orders not to walk my dog for at least 18 days after same day surgery. Everyone would start to refresh the dog’s big water bowl unasked, which they didn’t need to do. They would also ask if there was anything else they could do for me. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

We would be lost without Dans expert dog handlers. They truly love our dog as much as we do. Absolutely recommend!

I can not say enough great things about this service, Adam was super detail organized , matched us with a great walker/sitter and we can keep going with good things from there, but my main review is for one of their Senior Walkers//Sitters, and No he is not an old man, he is a gentleman named Noah who made our Pup Maverick one happy guy on our wedding day. Noah was our dog sitter/walker during our wedding day last weekend and let me tell you , NOAH WAS A 10/10 in our book and our doggo Mavericks! Noah had Maverick out for walks all day, they had lots of fun together and every raved about how adorable they were together playing like old time friends, our pup was so comfortable with Noah and it showed. I am sure the whole other team is amazing at Dans Pet care but Noah was our guy and we can not thank him and Dans pet care enough for easing our worries about our fur baby on our big day. Dan and his amazing team of dog walkers have been helping us out with Boomer since he was a pup. When we go on vacation, Dan cares for Boomer. Boomer gets to stay home, where he is comfortable and safe. Dans team comes to our house and feeds walks and plays with Boomer 3X a day. We get a notification when they arrive and when they leave. They spend at least 1/2 hour at each visit and fill us in on Boomers day. He is excited to see them, eats well and always does his business. I will never board a dog again.

I have used them also for play sessions with my puppy. The people that have come have been wonderful with him. I think Dans is top notch. I would not use anyone else .I am only continuing my review because now I use them for walking Services as well. And I couldn’t be happier. I never expected to be this happy. My puppy is thrilled. I am even able to manage a new puppy schedule given the way they set it up for me. Everything about Dan’s works out beautifully.

A terrific service. They took care of my husky and spaniel mix and were always available, even at last minute. They have a great feature where they can check in every day and you get an alert on their app so you can see how the walks went, and their narratives were always fun to read. Also whoever handles their social media is pretty great, my dog ended up on twitter a couple of times and my wife and I always got a laugh. Long story short, they are wonderful, affordable, and I would highly recommend them

Everyone I dealt with was pleasant, professional, responsive and enthusiastic. I received an alert when the visit began and pictures of my boys playing plus a note from the walker. Will definitely recommend as well as use again.

Could not be happier with Dans services. We used their training service as well as their walking service. Our dog is much better behaved, walks nicely on the leash, goes to a spot when someone knocks on the door, and comes when we call for him. When we needed to take an emergency over night trip, Dan’s and their walkers were able to put us on their schedule and walk Cooper while we were away. We will use them going forward for agility training and other walking needs.

I wouldn’t choose any other dog walking services after using Dans dog walking services. I had to leave the country for 2 weeks and needed someone I can trust to come to my house and walk my 10 month old pitbull, biggie. Biggie can be very timid when meeting new people, but he instantly loved dans team. They were very sweet and did a great job looking after biggie. They came to my house everyday 3x a day and spent 30-40 min with him each visit and even showed up on days we had a lot of snow. Each visit they routinely gave biggie a 30 min walk and fed him 2x a day. If it wasn’t for dans team I wouldn’t of been able to travel. A very big thank you and I hope we can do business again in the future!!!
