Old House Labradors

This review is long overdue but so well deserved. We picked up our girl Winnie from Old House Labs in December of 2022. As soon as the litter was born, Mary Beth was in regular contact with us to share photos and videos of puppies. Her communication throughout the entire time leading up to our pickup date was stellar. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the dog, her disposition and the affection and firendliness she shows to all people and animals alike. Not only is she a sweet animal, but she is absolutely beautiful and gets compliments on her cuteness everywhere we go. Anyone thinking about getting a Labrador retriever should absolutely reach out to Mary Beth as we had nothing but a positive and wonderful experience. Hope to see you again someday!PS- Mary Beth, you were right about this breed’s love for swimming— Winnie spent her entire summer in the pool!

Mary Beth was very nice and helpful throughout the whole process. They have beautiful healthy dogs. I picked up my fox red lab at 7 weeks and he has been full of energy and a great companion!

Highly recommend Old House Labs if you’re looking for a lab! Mary Beth is very informative during the whole process and even touches base with you after you bring home your dog to see how everything is going. We got two puppies from the same litter and they are the best puppies. At only 12 weeks, Reign is showing such athletic qualities; meanwhile, Daisy is such a cuddle bug. It’s the best of both worlds.

Old House Labs was absolutely wonderful to work with. They were very responsive and flexible to our needs. They really knew their stuff and gave us lots of great info and advice. Our puppy is absolutely amazing. He is already learning basic commands and is all around happy healthy and calm (when he’s not playful). Don’t even think about anywhere else. Thanks Old House Labs!

Pleasure to deal with. Mary is super knowledgeable, and thorough. Gave us constant updates and once the pup was born weekly pictures and updates on her. Pickup was a breeze and we couldn’t be happier with our baby girl. Incredibly sweet and trainable puppy. Would 100% recommend and get another puppy from again.

Our little Penny Lou came from Old House Labs and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Penny came from Maggie and Judah born on 12/1/2021. We traveled 8 hours one way from New Hampshire to pick up Penny and the long drive was well worth it! Penny has the sweetest personality, smart and is full of spunk! We often get compliments on her behavior when around other people, dogs and cats. She allows other animals to come to her and she understands when other animals have “had enough” and she will leave them alone.Me and my husband have a 9-year-old cat who is very set in her ways. We were not sure how Penny and Abbi would do when introduced, however right when we brought Penny home, Penny sat down and allowed Abbi to come to her. She has yet to bother Abbi and allows Abbi to come to her on her own terms.Penny loves being around anyone she can and loves all the attention. At the same time though, Penny loves her time alone! When she is tired and wants to just play alone she can be found getting a new toy and going to lay in her bed and just play alone. This is a big thing for us! It is nice to see that sometimes Penny just wants to be alone. Let me say it doesn’t ever last long but she does it at times haha!Me and my husband highly recommend Old House Labs. Mary takes extreme pride in ensuring her puppies have an amazing start to life and beyond. She was there to answer the many questions we had when getting ready for Penny and made the transition smooth. These puppies are well worth the wait and the drive !

I ENTHUSIASTICALLY recommend Old House Labs if you are looking for a sweet, top quality lab puppy with the very best temperament. They really do it right and you can see how much love, care, and hard work they put into their dogs and puppies. We have had many dogs and are quite experienced with raising puppies and dogs. We have even raised an agility champion who we later trained to be a therapy dog. I can tell you, without hesitation, that the puppies from Old House Labs are top notch. We picked up our little baby boy Macallan in November, who was from Cora and Judahs litter. He has been nothing short of amazing and a total pleasure since day 1. His temperament is incredible. He is so sweet, snuggly, calm (which I cannot say the same of the other puppies we have had) and so well behaved but also enthusiastic, curious and playful. He really is the perfect puppy. We are so in love with him and everyone that meets him is in awe of not only his outer beauty but, even more importantly, his temperament. Mary Beth kept us updated through the whole process with pictures, emails, videos, etc, so we had the joy of watching our new addition as he grew every week. She had both parents there for us to see on pick out/pick up day, which was also wonderful to have the opportunity to meet the parents of our puppy!We are truly blessed to have such an amazing puppy join our family and we are so thankful to Mary Beth and Old House Labs for all of their hard work and dedication in raising such outstanding puppies!!

We got our puppy Rory from OHL. We picked up our puppy Rory this past January of 2022. He is from Maggie and Judah’s littler. Rory has been such a welcomed addition to our family. He is unbelievable with our nephews (all under two). Rory’s training has been going so well. Thank you so much for breeding such quality dogs. We love our Rory boy.

We just got our chocolate Lab puppy through Old House Labs and are really happy with her. I had never gotten a dog through a breeder before, and it was really important to us that we find a breeder that followed ethical practices. Mary Beth was very kind and provided ample information about how she selects dogs for breeding and how she raises the puppies in the first 8 weeks of life. She was a great communicator and shared updates about the puppies from the time they were conceived to pick-up, including regular videos of their progress. She also patiently answered any questions I had and was very responsive. In addition, she provides OFA information on the parent dogs, microchips the puppies prior to pick up, and vaccinates them for the age-appropriate vaccines prior to pick up. Our vet said that our puppy looks healthy and were really happy with her disposition so far. Overall, I highly recommend Old House Labs!

Couldnt be any more happy with my dog Marty! Going on year number two and hes an absolute lover with the best personality. Mary made the process easy and loves getting updates of him with every new adventure. Would recommend her dogs to anyone.

Gus is now 8 months old and he’s a great dog - very relaxed and mellow around the house, and he’s already looking strong in the field. Perfect mix of a family dog and hunting buddy.

She’s only four months old and responding incredibly well to off leash training. Mary-Beth was incredible to work with and I thank her for giving me my best friend! In our search to locate a breeder to add another Lab to our family, we came across Old House Labs. From the outset of our communications with Mary Beth, she was responsive, informative and very pleasant. We put a deposit on a litter she was expecting in October 2020. As luck would have it, we ended up getting our chocolate male and picked him up in late November. Throughout the process, Mary Beth provided frequent updates and recommendations to prepare for his arrival. He is now 4 months old and we are exceptionally happy with our new addition. He is a bright, healthy, friendly and endearing pup, and has acclimated well to his new home. We are more than pleased with our experience at Old House Labs and with Mary Beth. If we decide to get another dog in the future, Old House Labs will be on the top of our list!

I recently purchased a puppy here.You must put down a deposit to get on a waiting list.Although I have not seen my puppy yet my deposit is in.The litter will be born in late fall and can go home in seven weeks. Puppies are vet checked before going home. Breeders are very responsible and extremely knowledgeable. Each dog is very well cared for.

Mary Beth is knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the health and happiness of the dogs she’s breeding and what home the pups will be going to which is what sold us. We were thrilled with her communication throughout the process- from labor on, she kept us up to date with photos and videos until we picked our pup up. Our Lab has been an absolute joy with a remarkable temperament. While he’s a love bug who enjoys cuddling, he’s also eager to learn and does so quickly with focus and drive— he’s by far the easiest dog to train we’ve ever had. During our first vet visit the doctor couldn’t stop commenting on how well behaved he is, how lovely his temperament is and how healthy he was. Our Old House Lab is a healthy, beautiful and intelligent dog and we couldn’t be happier with him. We’re already thinking about our next lab, ha!

The entire process was wonderful - weekly videos of the littler, phone calls answering all our questions and accommodations for pick up time. Our pup is such a joy with excellent temperament. She is a hugs snuggler and easily trained. Our 3 kids adore her and she is so great with them! I wouldn’t get a dog from anywhere else.
