Paws on Main of Nyack Pet Grooming

SHOULD BE 0 STARS! MOST INCOMPETENT/UNPROFESSIONAL JOB, as well as the MOST EXPENSIVE ($198.98) in 30 years of having my dogs groomed.When I picked up my dog his coat was long for (supposedly) having been cut, but I let it go. At home I noticed his muzzle and ears were way too long, even though I had specifically asked to cut them short. I called and asked to return the next day to have another inch cut off. This second time they called after ten minutes to say he was done.Because he was so desperate to get out of there (again!) I didnt realize what theyd done. Both his muzzle and ears were uneven and his hindquarters were shaved raw. If you love your dog STAY AWAY! This place is a disaster.

I took my 1 year old cat, Milo, to this place and they went above and beyond to get him all groomed up. The best part was it only took about an hour. I barely had time to get back to my house before I was called saying Milo was ready to get picked up. Amazing service.I asked for a short haircut because he was shedding too much, and they gave him a cute lion haircut, bathed him, and even put the plastic claw caps on for me because he scratches a lot . All the problem areas were shaved and he smelt amazing after the bath that they gave him. I am definitely coming back. They are husband and wife and their attention to detail and commitment shows. We are so impressed with their gentle service and care for our fearful puppy Opa! The transformation is incredible. Our puppy Opa is a beach bum and had lots of matting all around his paws and belly. I was very nervous to take him to a groomer because of his due to COVID he isn’t very socialized and is extremely fearful of others (not other dogs as much as humans) but after reading some excellent reviews, we decided to give Paws on Main a call while visiting the area Monday. Jessica called back promptly the next morning when they opened and got Opa in right away for a 10am visit.When we arrived they could see I was not exaggerating when I said I had a very fearful pup and said they would start with just a bath and see if he would allow them to cut him, which made me feel really good that they were going to just force a cut on him if he wasn’t ready. They took his time with him (2 hoursand provided me updates half way through once he was bathed which made me feel really good about their care. While Opa is a bit shorter than we both wanted they assured me that we could do a longer maintence next time once we got Opa on a proper grooming schedule now that all the Matts were out. Opa looks so comfortable and cute now. While we do not live in the area I will certainly be making the drive back for Opas next grooming. The team at Paws on Main did a terrific job grooming my husky mix. I usually bring her in for a nail trim but they were able to fit her in for a full bath, trim, and blowdry recently and I couldn’t be happier. She came home looking exactly as I hoped, smelling fresh, and shedding MUCH less. We’ll definitely be back soon! Love supporting a local business with a super caring staff. Thanks again!

Omg!!!! Where can I begin...I bought my baby..my child Noni there..she was matted and to be honest looked like a train wreck..I came back to a brand NEW FURBABY. Today I met the most compassionate owners, bot just out to make money. They care for you furbaby, and yandle them with such gentle hands. I will continue to go there from now on. If you need a groomer PLEASE dont take them anywhere else, its like taking them home...again ty so much she is so happy ...

They were very attentive to Bandit, my 3 year old female Tuxedo Cat. I was very pleased on how well they fixed up my Bandit. I was very pleased on how they worked double duty to calm Bandit down. I strongly refer them to anyone who are looking for a great Cat and Dog groomer. 👍🏽

We took our dachshund here for a nail trimming and teeth brushing today for the first time and we had an excellent experience! I was able to walk in, didn’t have an appointment, they took me right away. The entire process took less than 5 minutes. Our pup wasn’t afraid at all and they took excellent care of him. I think he just knew he was in good hands!We will definitely be using them from now on. Thank you paws on main!!

Fantastic!! My dog actually left the place smiling, best groom job he ever had. The staff was caring, friendly and very professional. My dog was not the least bit stressed and seemed to enjoy the experience. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend brining your pets here for grooming, you won’t be disappointed!

I love coming here!! They’re always so welcoming, bring your pets here they’ll definitely love it. Super friendly staff and professional. It usually only take around an hour and a half for them to take care momo. My dog get super anxious about everything, but it seemed like she loves it there. Tried multiple groomers and nothing is quite like paws on main, definitely not going anywhere else ever again !!

I Have been using Paws on Main for the past almost year and I have nothing but good things to say about them. My two dogs come to paws on main and they both love it. Its the first place I have found that doesnt keep your pet for hours locked up in a cage. They groom by appointment and they have our pets in and out and they do a great job!! I recommend them highly!

AWESOME! Brought my 6 month old Australian labradoodle puppy in and provided some breed specific instructions for her cut. They followed the instructions exactly and she looks great! Customer service was great and everyone is so friendly. Happy to have found a great local groomer :)

Just got back from bringing my little dog to Jessica whereby she goes in wagging her tail and comes out wagging her tail. Shes the only groomer my dog and I love.Its a really hot day today yet where she groomed my girl it was cool and comfortable.Definitely will be going back. Kudos to Jessica and Ashley. My girl looks gorgeous!

I’ve been bringing my dog here for a few years and they are WONDERFUL. They do a great job, are super accommodating and most importantly you can tell they love dogs/animals. My dog is always happy when I pick her up so I know she had a good experience. I think their prices are on par with other places, but honestly if they weren’t, it would be worth paying extra. (Also my dog doesn’t like bathtime and they handle that well)

If you are looking for a place you can trust, will treat your dog with love, and does a great and thorough job you can look no further. I brought my corgi here about 2 years ago after having a horrible experience with PetSmart who shaved my corgi. Jessica and her team know dogs and know that you do not shave a double coated haired dog. After doing research and reading great reviews, I started traveling from Pleasantville NY to Nyack to have my corgi see Jessica. Riley always leaves Paws on Main happy, upbeat and looking like perfection. When I tell Riley we are going to see Jessica, she knows exactly who I am talking about and is excited. On the way there she knows where we are going and is thrilled. You can trust your loved pups with Paws on Main. Yes its a bit pricey, but when you know your dog is treated with love and care, its worth it to know they have a positive experience. Since then we have moved from Pleasantville, to The Bronx, and now to the East Village and we still travel to go to Jessica.

We have been taking our dog to Paws on Main for a little over three years now and they always do a great job! Our dog has anxiety and didnt do well when we brought him to other groomers but he always has a smile when we pick him up.

The people who worked there really seemed to love the dogs. The groomer seemed to know exactly what I wanted and when she couldnt do it due to matting she explained it before I had to even ask. I look forward to starting an every 6 week grooming rotation with them. They were wonderful.

Hi my name is Ericka Daley I took my 5 month old puppy Leo to Paws on Main of Nyack I was greeted as soon as i came into the door . Which I thought was very nice and the owner Jessica took such wonderful care and service to my puppy Leo it was AMAZING !! , that I will recommend for other pet lovers to visit Paws on Main of Nyack as well .. I thank Jessica again for doing such a WONDERFUL JOB !!!!! on puppy and will for sure return soon.

I dont understand the bad reviews since all I ever had with all of my dogs were great experiences. Jessica has a quick turn around and my doggies always come back great and happy. The first groomer that my dogs are not afraid to go to.Ive had some horrible experiences with groomers and had to leave my dogs there all day whereby at Paws on Main I get to pick them up at a reasonable time considering what she has to do to them and Im not her only customer.I see how she cares for all the dogs she grooms and its with kindness and caring. Def wouldnt take them to these big name companies to be groomed or some other groomers where ive heard horror stories and even deaths occurred from carelessness. I find the owner of Paws on Main honest and always tries to do her best with my babies. Ive had a couple of occasions in the few years Ive been going there that she couldnt groom them perfectly because it was my fault i let them go too long and they got too matted. I realize Jessica is not a magician but did a great job considering what she had to work with with my dogs. It amazes me how some people expect everything and dont take things into consideration. Sorry some people think the world revolves around them but i will be bringing my dogs back for hopefully many many years to come,

I have brought my husky Mika (who sheds like hell) to many groomers over the years. Mika has never had a better grooming in her life. And let me tell u she was in TERRIBLE condition before going in there. They were also insanely quick. 50 mins maximum. When usually it takes 90 mins. I was concerned thinking she wasn’t going to be groomed properly. I was shocked to see that she was actually groomed to perfection. The best brushing she’s ever gotten. And she wasn’t damp at all which is how groomers usually leave her legs. And it’s not the cheapest grooming I’ve had but also not the most expensive. And for the results it was totally worth it. My new permanent groomer!

Groomer said they could give our 40lb Goldendoodle a haircut/bath. When I scheduled the appointment they said it would cost $75. After two hours they called and said the dog was too wild to get a haircut, which I get since it was my puppys first haircut and he probably wasnt used to it. But instead of calling me right from the beginning so I could pick him up, they called 2 hours later and all they did was give him a bath, kind of blowdry him but also admitted that they had to just let him air dry, cut his nails, and cut the hair around his eyes. These are all things that I could have done myself, but I took my dog to a professional groomer to get a haircut, something that I cant do myself, and something that they ended up not doing but charged us $65 anyway! Groomer shouldve called me right from the beginning to tell me they couldnt give the dog a haircut. Thats why I brought him there. I complained about the price and they said that normally a haircut is $85 (as opposed to the $75 they told me on the phone). Never trust unlisted prices. Dont trust this groomer. Very disappointed in the lack of communication. They rip off their customers.

Was disappointed with the price I paid for my cat to get groomed, all she needed was a haircut & nails trimmed and charged me $130 (no bath or anything extra). My cat came back acting strange too, jumping and meowing when I would pet her, as if her body was sore for a few days. They also cut her hair way too short without asking first.I don’t suggest for cat owners.

Love the staff and the owner. Very friendly and good at handling difficult dogs very nicely getting her comfortable very quickly!Thorough cleaning , my weim smelled and looked like a princess walking out of there.

I have contacted this store twice, each time to be basically dismissed, with obviously no interest in my trade. The first time was when they were they were the only distributor of a specialty food, but I was told that they are primarily a groomer (and not interested in sale of the food that they were listed as distributing). The second time was when they were recommended to me by another groomer to do specialty grooming and were definitely not interested. You may be successful here if you make sure that you are not interested in purchasing food, and have a non-specialty groom job. Personally, I hate lousy customer service.

Best groomers in Rockland! My dogs come back smelling so good and are incredibly soft. The owner and her team have incredible skill and care for dogs that are difficult to groom.

I am so greatful I found Jessica and her staff at Paws on Main. Her attention to detail and loving nature is second to none. All 4 of my dogs love her- a maltipoo, shitzu coton mix, yellow lab, and pit mix - and always come back looking amazing! Thanks for always taking care of my kids!

Paws on Main is a friendly neighborhood place that is also efficient, professional and clean. They put my puppy at ease for her first grooming and she has never looked better!

This is Leo. He absolutely LOVES Paws on Main. I know why! They are kind and helpful with their services over the phone and in person. They have suggested different cuts for him and remember for next time what he wants. They are very gentle with the dogs and the shop has an overall joyful atmosphere that is very reassuring to me as Leo’s friend. They are amazing with my rescue kitten Fabiana. They take excellent care of her and they are always excited to see her which is about every other week for nail trimming.

Very good groomer. Took my 15 lb Pom mix there for a full service. The cut was exactly what I asked for and he was happy when I picked him up. Nice people.

These angels were so wonderful with Piglet. I only bring her in for her monthly mani-pedi but they ALWAYS make time to do a great job. The male co-owner is also really nice. I am so grateful to have this business in town! You guys are true professionals who obviously work hard and love dogs (and Piglets)!

I have a lahasapoo and she gets her undercoat matted on her belly. Every time I ask a groomer to just shave her down in her trouble spots, when I pick her up shes completely shaved. Paws on main did exactly what I wanted and she looks fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about paws on main.Friendly knowledgeable staff. Ill never use anyone else going forward. Very nice. Great service. Seems like everybody has high prices when its time to groom your pets. I support small businesses and I know they have to compete with big business. I just wish my pockets didnt suffer because of it.

No Stars! Horrible experience! My husband and I tried this place for the first time last week and we will not be going back. Our dog is a rescue and clearly has some trauma. My husband made the company aware of her needs during drop off and we were disappointed to learn that our input was not taken into consideration during her bath. Upon pick up, it was suggested that we “wash her at home next time.” We were charged $50, they didn’t trim her nails, and when we picked her up she was still wet. They didn’t even have the decency to dry her in the dead of winter. We will NEVER go back!
