I have been bringing my lab to Two by Four for 8 years. I couldnt be happier with the experience. The staff is always very welcoming. They love dogs and they go over and above to ensure the well-being of every pet. It is a cozy family run business; I feel at ease knowing my dog is in good hands and receiving great care. The owner, Melanie sends me pictures throughout the day;I like that personal touch. This is a fun place to take your dog. Thanks to Melanie & the staff for providing this great service.

This place is like heaven on earth! Melanie and the two by four staff are so caring for my pup Archie as if he is their own. He plays outside all day and gets to hang out with his friends and lounge by the pools. They have such high standards and I cannot recommend them and two by four enough!

I was so excited to find such a wonderful place like Two by Four In Oyster Bay. I feel so much better my dog is not sitting at home alone all day or in a cage. I know my dog is safe and having fun. I have walked around the facilities where the dogs play. The large dogs are seperated from the smaller dogs with plenty of room to run and jump around. There is cover when it rains, heat when it’s cold and cool air and water to play in when it is hot. The play area is spotless and clean. They are always adding new and fun things for the dogs to play with. I am leaving my child with them and they treat him like he is part of the family.We tried the dog parks to socialize my dog. It actually made things worst. The owners use it as a social gathering and do not watch there dogs. People do not pick up after there dogs as well as you dont even know how healthy some of the dogs are. We stopped going because fights broke out and people didnt care what there dogs are doing.It is nice to be able to bring my dog to Two by Four which is a safe and clean environment where you know the dogs are happy.I boarded my dog for two weeks. Although he was excited to see us when we returned, he couldnt wait to go back the next day to see his friends and staff. The staff Dana and Alexa are like his mom away from home. The owner Melanie post pictures on facebook and instagram daily, so you can see how much fun they are having. She is always professional and available whenever I need to talk to her.When my family is in town, my daughter’s dog enjoy it as well.Two by Four is a great place to bring your dog for daycare or for boarding. My dog barks all the way to Two by Four because he is so excited to be there. Everyone in Oyster Bay can hear him while I am driving there. He is letting all his friends know he is going to Two by Four.I have been to other daycare centers in and out of NY, but I have not found one as good as Two by Four. My peace of mine is priceless!

We love two by four. After boarding our dog at several other places, we continually come back to 2x4. They are the only boarding house where my dog comes out fresh smelling and happy. Ive had terrible experiences where he has come out smelling like urine or from all the others. The staff are friendly and care about your animal. Melanie is the best and always willing to help out. Highly recommended for your daycare and boarding needs. We drive almost 30 minutes just to get to them without a second thought

The Two by Four dog daycare and boarding in Oyster Bay is an exceptionally well managed facility.When we in the spring 2022 rescued a discarded senior hunting beagle we had no idea that we would be in need of any care for him except for what we had to offer ourselves.Our beloved Bo showed us pretty soon that he would be much happier to run with a pack like he had done his whole long life.Someone mentioned 2x4 and we hesitantly checked it out.We felt very protective of our eight year old timid, hand shy and shell shocked Bo.It turned out to be the best thing that we could have done for him.After regularly utilizing the daycare for a few months we felt confident to board our Bo for an entire 9 days in July 2022.Apart from the fact that we received daily pictures of Bo we also found that whenever we reached out to ask about him the response was always prompt.When we after nine days picked him up we were met by a very happy, newly bathed energetic Bo with his tail confidently high and wagging.That means everything to us.We are so grateful to have such a caring place to call a second home for our senior rescue dog that only deserves the best after a long tough life.The owner and all staff have been nothing but professional, attentive, organized and caring.Watching our Bo recover from a lot of trauma and coming out of his shell by spending time at 2x4 has been the most valuable endorsement for us.And Bo also happened to return home with some improved manners!Anette Wachter

First I want to say I loved this place to board my dog. It’s doggie heaven, they have pools, sprinklers, and seemingly very sweet staff. To board, you must bring your dog for an evaluation; however, they did not show the quarters where the dogs stay, which I thought was weird, but this place had come highly recommended so I let it go. They also do not have cameras that you can view, which I also let slide as we were in need of a place to board my dog when we are out of town.I picked up my dog from boarding over the weekend and did not notice a chunk of hair and skin missing from the side of my dog until I arrived home (size of a quarter). She is black so it is highly visible. I reached out to the owner, worried about my dog and she shrugged it off as dogs being dogs and that my dog probably rubbed against something. This may be true, but I was upset I was not told of the injury before I picked up my dog and wish I was notified after it happened or at the time I picked up my dog all the while saying my dog loves it there. The owner responded arrogantly, defensively and unsympathetically and to look elsewhere for boarding if I’m uncomfortable (which I did not say, I actually reiterated we love this place). All I wanted was to be notified of the injury, as I would imagine all dog owners would want. After the owners rude and arrogant response, I will look elsewhere, which I’m bummed about. Additionally, no cameras and no tour of their facilities is a no from me if the owner can’t give a simple heads up of an injury.

They take the best care of my Penny girl! She has the best time there when we go out of town. Melanie is a sweetheart and makes sure to send me photos. I can rest knowing that Penny is safe, happy, and being well cared for! Definitely recommend :)

Awesome place for dogs to socialize and play! My dog, Chloe, cant wait to get there!

My dogs contracted Kennel Cough there twice. We reported it to them the second time they contracted it and they denied that our dogs got it there and blamed it on “dog parks.” They hadn’t gone to any dog parks or any other places. Our vet told us it was from the daycare as it was clear as day this was the last place they visited with other dogs. It is strange they have no live cameras there too. We also found it alarming that the owners did not report the kennel cough we told them about to other customers. Our retriever was violently ill even though she and our other dog were vaccinated against this disease. The owners were unsympathetic, rude and unprofessional when we told them. Never again will we use this Petri dish daycare for dog infections.

Super helpful and friendly staff! Day before thanksgiving, I had to drop off my friends dog that i was sitting for. I live all the way in Brooklyn and accidentally put the dog in my car without a leash. I was close to Two by Four when i realized that i forgot the leash. The staff was so understanding and not only did they let me borrow a leash, but they came outside and got the dog out of the car for me! I was so relieved that they were so understanding.

If you are an animal lover do not go to this facility they took a dog that was going to be euthanized at home because of aggressive behavior and said that they would take him in and train him and find him a good home they lied about everything they are horribleirresponsible people and liars they gave false hope they disregarded what the prior owners told them on day one not to mention horrible communication during the process and your dog will get kennel cough then these supposed dog lovers abandoned this dog in the previous owners backyard without even a phone call without food or water. How inhumane!!!!!!I’

I love Melanie and her staff. Buttercup loves it there. Shes very reasonable with her prices.. Very trustworthy and has such a great personality.

I want to say thank you to Two by Four. My dog sitter backed out on me last minute before vacation. They were able to accommodate me and my Frenchie for a 6 night stay on short notice. Clear and fast communication between the owner and I. I can never thank them enough. THANK YOU THANK YOU

They were awesome! Sent us pictures everyday and kept us informed about our pet.

You can tell that they really care about the animals there. Everyone is very friendly, and they even offer pick-up/drop-off for your pets if you cant take them yourself.

Ive brought my dog here a number of times for day care, and he LOVES LOVES LOVES it. I cant give Two By Four enough credit for the facility and the work they put in here. This place is truly unique in the sense of the love they have for their job. It shows, because Benny my dog has a smile on his face the entire time! Ive seen pictures! If i were to have my dog stay over night anywhere without me, this is the place I would bring him.
