Following an ultra sound finding, which had to be performed at an outside facility, and at Dr. Lanns recommendation, Gucci was taken in for an eighteen hundred dollar operation to remove a large s̶e̶b̶a̶c̶e̶o̶u̶s̶ cyst [Perinephric pseudocyst] that was found. Gucci died during the night after returning home only hours following the operation. Gucci clearly suffered terribly in his last hours of life. It was a terrible mistake to trust that this Cats Exclusively Dr. Lann that operated on Gucci held Guccis best interest in the forefront. I thought that the first rule of medicine was supposed to be to do no harm!!!Upon arriving home ~ 5 PM, Gucci was dripping puddles of bloody fluid all over the floor from his stitched up incision! Gucci then died during the night before the next morning. It was clearly evident that he was suffering from the effects of the operation. In his last effort before lying down where he died at the base of my wheelchair, Gucci dragged himself using his front legs and paws across the family room floor while falling over and crying out each time, time and time again, as his hind legs failed and no longer supported him and functioned normally as they did only hours before. That is the heartbreaking image Ill carry with me for the rest of my life!Yes, Gucci suffered from the effects and discomfort of the cyst (lost weight, frequent thirst) , but it wasnt the cyst that he abruptly died from frightened and traumatized. I am 100% certain that had Dr. Lann not operated, Gucci would not have died as he did!I strongly do not recommend!Youre damn right Im furious! If it were up to me I would yank this doctors license immediately. This is now a mistake that we have to live with for the rest of our lives. Being sorry will never make up for ending this life.Weve had many cats throughout our lives. Wonderful marvelous cats of all kinds, but never a cat like Gucci. Virtually every morning we would awaken to find a different assortment of cat toys placed carefully at the foot of the bed that Gucci collected from around the house overnight. Sometimes as many as five or six.p.s.In response to Cats Exclusivelys response:We understood and recognize that Gucci would eventually die and was dying from his health problems. However, and again, it wasnt the perinephric cyst, nor the large tumor found on his liver (which did not show up in the ultrasound report), that ended Guccis life abruptly and traumatically only hours following the operation that Dr. Lann performed.Thats the point here!Its also very much the point that this ending was unnecessary and could have and should have been avoided!Keep your false caring and sympathy to yourself, Dr. Lann.If people could only have witnessed what your important concern for every patient really looked like for this unfortunate cat that died a miserable death following the operation you performed!Perhaps the most telling of all is the fact that when my wife picked up Gucci to bring him home no one said a word or mentioned anything about death or dying.No, Dr. Lann, clearly you dont understand! Saying that you understand how we feel is in and of itself a sign of callous indifference.Shame on you!p.s. After reading through 5 separate studies surrounding this illness where there were also additional complications, it seems clear that a much better and wiser path than the one taken for Gucci should have been followed. At the very least, and at a minimum, further evaluation was advisable and should have been performed. Took my kitty to Cats Exclusive today for first visit. They were great, very efficient but thorough. Checkout was great, they have specialty cat food and send you home with printed instructions. He wasnt excited to go but after that visit I could tell he hasnt felt better in a long time. Hes like a new cat. Im so grateful for everyone there. Thank you 🙏

My kitties have been visiting Cats Exclusively for over a decade. I have had cats with serious health issues and Dr Bob always provides me with a quick diagnosis, and treatment options. This last visit with Thea, I commented it is so much easier having a younger, healthy kitty, as opposed to having a kitty with health issues. Dr Bob is up to any challenge, and I can always count on him and the techs to help me to make appropriate care decisions for my kitties.

I love the care and attention the Cats Exclusively team provides. They are truly knowledgeable and provide compassionate care...even when ones cat is on the spicier side! Dr. Cheryl is an angel ❤️

The thing I will say that is good here is the front desk staff and a few of the techs.Now the reason I would say be aware... My 3 year old boy has been back and forth to the vets with major issues for the past 6 months. When we 1st started this Dr. Lann said lets wait for 6 months before doing another Ultrasound, when we clearly had something going on that needed addressing.So I took the DOCTORS advice, dumb move by me.A few months later he started to get sick again, not eating and his body swelled up again, brought him in again and got more of the lest wait for 3 more months. I did not like that answer so I went to see the ultrasound specialist we went to before. She did not like what she saw as he started to have nodes everywhere. So we took a biopsy, came back inconclusive, so we had to take another biopsy (Mind you I was ready to fight right away if they said he had cancer) That result came back supposedly in the clear. So I stood down on trying to beat cancer, had CBD oil I returned and stopped my calls to see if I could get him into an oncologist at Cornell. Fast forward a few more months later, he got sick again. I decided to go to another vet that also did not listen to what I was saying, so I finally brought him to an ER the other night because he was not looking well at all (FYI the emergency numbers they leave on their answering machine here are not 24hrs and we had to go to Buffalo at midnight)So I finally have results saying he had an aggressive cancer that has been eating away at his insides. His kidneys are failing, everything is swollen, and there are nodes everywhere even worse. He now has only a few more days with me on this Earth before I have to say my goodbyes. We just celebrated his gotcha day a few weeks ago and he is only 3 years old.He is a silly little boy, that has the most endearing personality you can ever see in a kitto. He appreciates the things around him and knows how to take in the world. And now I will not have a chance to watch him grow even more. This is not fair. He should have way more years than this. And if they did not say LETS WAIT from the get go he could have had a chance because I would have fought for him and spent every last dime to be sure his life had a chance!My sister also got the Lets Wait with her cat who had a tumor that grew and she had to let her go as well.Not a fan of this place and beyond angry that a doctor would say lets wait and give clueless answers to what is wrong without consulting other peers or try and dive in more. I kept telling them money is no object when it comes to him. He is under my care and money is only paper that can come back again...he now cannot!!!So thanks for waiting, I am sure you will not let this phase you because he is not your kid and you didnt have his hugs or his goofy little ways cheering you up daily. But I do hope this weighs on your conscious in saying I should have not waited and we should have looked into this more!!! He could have had a chance that you did not give him!!!Good luck on your practice, I hope you change you ways so nobody else has to have their heart ripped out as much as mine is right now

Im so happy I chose this veterinary office! Theyre so friendly, its always super clean. All the vets and nurses there are wonderful so friendly, so patient, so caring. I highly recommend them, my cats not super fond of dogs so its really nice going there and having the atmosphere so calm. Wonderful place all around!!!!!!

We took our cat to Cats Exclusively because they had the ability to run tests on her heart after we were told she has a heart murmur, at the clinic we went to. They recommended a full service vet, so after some research we decided to come here.We are so happy to have found them. It is absolutely worth the drive from the city to know that our baby is going to be taken care of. They were able to get her in and the Dr. did an exam and told us exactly what was going on, and provide an appointment for her surgery to get spayed. As I write this, we just got a phone call from them to tell us that her surgery went well. My boyfriend and I are so happy to have found this place, each and every person that works there is caring and kind.

This place is amazing. My old vet didn’t care at all about my cat, and was way overwhelmed by the number of patients they dealt with. Cats Exclusively treats my cat like a real patient and provides great care with compassion and love. I would highly recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone looking for a cats only vet that provides the best care.

I had to engage Cats Exclusively when I was unable to get my kitty into their regular vet. I was able to take her in the next day, and ultimately she was diagnosed with lung cancer. The care she and I received from Dr. Cheryl and Drm Bob was stellar. When we had to take her for her final visit we were treated with such kindness and compassion. They even put daffodils on her little coffin, and tucked her in with a sprig of catnip.

The front staff is amazing, the vet, Dr. Lann, not so much. Practically no bed side manner, stares at the computer while talking a history. Communicates in a judgemental manner.My cat had sudden weight loss--he put her on Mirtazipine to stimulate appetite. I asked him how the drug worked, and he said he didnt know. I googled it to understand its mechanism of action. I cant fathom a vet prescribing a drug he doesnt know the mechanism of action.After drawing blood, he said we needed to schedule an abdominal U/S as soon as possible, for which my cat had to be NPO for eight hours. When we came in for the appointment, he seemed surprised, and said they had a traveling ultrasonographer and we had to schedule again. He recommended taking more blood, this time for pancreatic enzymes. No idea why they couldnt have done this the first go around. We declined.My dear cat died within days of that last visit, without a diagnosis, and essentially, with no treatment.The other vets may be fine in this practice, but Dr. Lann seems not to be on top of much of anything. But more than that, his complete lack of warmth and poor communication skills are the most negative aspect of his care.

Doctor and staff were all wonderful and helpful, plus we could tell how much they really care for our pets happiness and well being. So glad we found Cats Exclusively!

Just visited and I already love this team for the attention and care they gave my cat. I noticed one of my cats was developing urinary issues and was turned away from several vets (to far booked out, not accepting new patients) before I found Cats Exclusively. They understood the potential severity of our problem and made room in their schedule for my cat to be seen.Within one hour we had diagnosis and a care plan in place. I was so anxious and overwhelmed by the thought of my cat being sick, but I was quickly made to feel confident in his care and his future. I cant imagine taking my cats anywhere else after this experience. I would absolutely recommend this team to anyone!

We have always received excellent care for our cat at Cats Exclusively. We have boarded our cat there as well. Their pricing seems fair and on par with practices around the area. What stands our the most however, is how one can see how everyone within the practice really loves cats and treats them as they would their own!

As a veterinary student I have to say I was extremely impressed with the level of care at this clinic. The receptionist was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The technicians were kind and eager to teach the newest and best methods to care for your cat. The doctor has a quirky sense of humor that made me laugh. He is clearly very educated and understands cats extensively-- which is often lacking in mixed animal clinics. The people at this practice will bend over backwards to give the best care for your animal. They truly love cats, and will treat yours as they would their own.

I can’t praise this vet enough. My kitten was on deaths door. She was extremely lethargic, was not eating and had a fever. They got her in immediately. They gave her antibiotics and fluids and had us come back later on that evening. They truly cared for her and her well-being. She is now on the mend and it’s all do to this amazing vet.

Cats Exclusively has been the care home for 3 of my cat companions for many years now, and if I could give out 10 stars, I would. Owner Vet Andy Fleming and his wonderful crew take an approach to their practice thats unique, refreshing, and so reassuring. The office is in a converted house -- its warm, welcoming, and homey. Because its an all-cat practice, there are no barking dogs to scare your cat, and just a few cats in the waiting room (at most.) When the vets (Andy or Bob) see you, they take time: with you, with your cat. They listen well, explain everything thats happening, and offer as many choices as they can for treatment. Everyone who works there, from the front desk staff to the nurses and techs, are friendly and really helpful. And most of all, they treat you and your cat like family. They are available by phone for follow up, for questions on runny noses, unusual behavior, or those other health issues that make us pet parents twitchy. When theres a serious problem, youll find the deep compassion, beyond the medical care -- because they all love their own furry companions, and treat everyone as theyd want to be treated. You just cant ask for better.

When I had an urgent need, Dr. Lann was right there for my Stanley. He took his time with him, even though it was at the end of the day. His intuitive sensitivity toward cats shows in his demeanor and his dedication to his vocation. Im so grateful my sister suggested cats exclusively to me. I ended up here because I was very concerned for my kitten’s health and could not get into another vet due to their backlogged appointments from the pandemic. I called here and they got me in the following morning to see my kitten. Excellent and prompt service even with the curbside model. I did find that it is a little pricier here, my kitten’s half hour exam cost me $67. However, I won’t dock points for that because they got me in fast and gave me good service so all in all I would recommend them.

They have been caring for our cats for over 10 years. Very caring staff. We boarded our cat for 2 weeks. They took exceptional care and told us all about his stay when we called.

We LOVE Cats Exclusively! We took our beloved older kitty for end of life wellbeing, care and comfort --- we currently have 2 senior kitties and 3 young adults --- we LOVE that everyone there is fantastic. We bring rescues to Cats Exclusively as well. One thing that I particularly like is that I never feel like Im a burden when I ask questions or dont understand something. Dr. Lann and Dr. Cheryl take the time to explain complicated medical issues and then help me choose the best options for our family. I recommend Cats Exclusively to anyone. OH and how could I forget --- check out the boarding! The boarding is so clean and wonderful its really like a pet hotel -- FIVE STARS :)

Most of these great reviews are for Dr. Andy and his receptionist Melinda, two extraordinary animal lovers who are no longer with the company. The generic response posted about my cat is so insincere, it makes me ill. They treated her with zero compassion and at the end, gave her a shot to calm her, which 15 minutes later, ended her life.

Let me start by saying, I recently had to put down one of my cats because she ended up having Feline Leukemia and had a tumor around her heart; those services provided were done at another local vets office where I was displeased with my treatment. I have another cat who has been around her since he was a baby and was concerned he had feline Leukemia too. I decided to get him tested, so when choosing another place for my fur babies I was interested in Cats Exclusively, Im beyond happy with the time frame at which I recieved an appointment, I asked for a Friday and got the appointment for that day even through the craziness of Covid. The staff is nothing but personable, sweet, and kind. Before my cats appointment I even made sure to have records from other vets sent, the receptionist Beth called to give me the piece of mind that they recieved them. What better customer service could you ask for? Dr. Ragalevsky was informative, gentle, and a good listener and just as excited as I was for the negative test result we got today. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart treating Toker and I like family even though it was our first visit!

LOVE Cats Exclusively....Not only are Dr. Bob and Dr. Andy top notch veterinarians...the rest of the support team from front desk to experienced technicians are top notch as well. It makes such a HUGE difference to feel confident about the ENTIRE staff that cares for our furry ones. Plus, the atmosphere is so conducive to cats -- calm and quiet -- no barking dogs, etc. I wouldnt go anywhere else with our kitties.

Recently brought my one cat here because she was loosing weight they treated her like she was one of their own. She was so comfortable without all the dogs barking. Everyone was very nice and able to explain everything to me easily.

My young cat recently had dental surgery done at Cat’s Exclusively (had most of her teeth removed) and everyone was extremely kind and informative. Dr. Lann was very thorough in explaining my kitty’s diagnosis and treatment plan, which I could not appreciate more. The LVT who I saw after her surgery was also very thorough; she explained things completely to me and ensured I understood everything. Everyone at the front desk was personable and professional. Thank you for taking great care of my girl!

Our cat Fitzy had urinary issues recently and Cats Exclusively did an excellent job getting us in the same day, diagnosing the issue, and prescribing treatment accordingly. We have been here a number of times for Fitzy and the staff has always been professional, thorough, and helpful. While we don’t live close by to Cats Exclusively, the care our fur baby receives at this clinic is worth the drive.

They are the BEST cat veterinary hospital in the city. I will NEVER go anywhere else. My cats know it too. They are always so well behaved here and much more relaxed. It is very important to me that my guys are taken care of. They go above and beyond.Thank you for your services.

Ive been taking all of my Kitties to Cats Exclusively for years first with Dr Andy Fleming and now with Dr Lann. The staff are pretty much the same with new faces and love them too. I highly suggest taking your Fur-Babies to them if youre not comfortable with the usual setup 💞

We have always been treated very well there. This has been our babies doctors since we got the first ones, 16 years ago. Tried a different place when we moved, didnt like the way they treated our kitties, so we travel 45 minutes to get the best treatments for our furbabies.

I now have two sweet kitty boys who have been in the care of Cats Exclusively since they were kittens (over 14 years) so I feel I can speak with experience when I talk about the care they’re received from CE. The current staff members, headed by Dr. Lann, are the most compassionate, caring and competent group of people I have ever encountered anywhere. Both of my cats have been diagnosed with CRF; one is worse off and is on 5 meds and is receiving sub-q fluid 4 times a week at the office (I have a big aversion to needles so I can’t do it myself), so I believe I can speak with confidence when I make this assessment. I see the personnel at CE almost daily, and I observe how they function. They care. A lot. They provide the utmost in care to their patients, and they take the time to educate their patients’ caregivers so they can take the very best care of them at home. I know also that these people deeply love cats in general and they don’t stop caring when they leave the office. A number of them care for and take in strays/feral cats and/or work closely with cat rescue groups. I have heard time and again that one or the other is being called upon to assist a cat in distress, or to take a call from another staff member seeking advice on a particular situation—24/7. They do all they can to ensure all cats in their care are healthy and are well taken care of, and they personally suffer when a cat doesn’t make it. Again, I’ve seen it. I would HIGHLY recommend Cats Exclusively to anyone who cares for their cat(s). They’re amazing.

I take both of my elderly cats to Cats Exclusively. The doctors are both great, and every interaction I have had with everyone there has been very positive. I love this Vet!

Brought my cat in on a Saturday for a UTI (normal vet wasnt open). While I was filling out paperwork the vet did a tooth cleaning without my knowledge, and then charged me $25 for it. He also got snarky about the fact that I dont brush my cats teeth. 2 stars for being open on a Saturday and seeing us quickly, but I felt taken advantage of and wont be coming back.

I just took my cat Oscar there after a sudden severe illness - it turned out to be very serious and he needed to be put to sleep. All the staff here were just the best you could imagine for something like this - absolutely kind and caring, very personal. Lovely, lovely people.

This is the best experience I and my cat have ever had a a vet’s office. From their front office staff, to the veterinarian I saw, I would definitely recommend this place. The office kitty is also super cute!

On January 11th we said good bye to our kitty, Reagan, at Cats Exclusively. Same place where I first laid eyes on her a little over 10 years ago. Her litter mates died after a bout of severe diarrhea and sepsis we couldn’t save them from, earning her the nickname “Sole Survivor”. She came home with me as a foster kitten, and worked her way into our hearts and a permanent home. She was fast, playful, and a fierce hummingbird hunter, which earned her a bell to give them a chance to get away. She had the loudest purr... her nickname changed to “Piggy” because she held her tail curled, except when she slept. She developed inflammatory bowel disease and pancreatitis, and through the tests done for that Dr. Lann found she only had one working kidney, maybe because of the illness that killed her siblings? In November Dr. Lann and the staff helped her survive a kidney infection, which is very difficult to do with only one kidney. When it recurred last week, it shut down. She stopped making urine and started building fluid in her belly and chest. It was time to help her go. I have to thank everyone at Cats Exclusively for helping me take care of her every step of the way, her entire life, with good humor throughout her healthy times, and with expertise and compassion during her illnesses. We’ll miss you Piggy. We’ll be back at Cats Exclusively with her housemate, Munchkin, and when any other kitty finds us.

Good Vet did everything he could for a dying cat BUT...When you have a dying cat, older clients depend on our vets to advise us when our cats are too sick and dying to go through additional treatment. Dr Lann will NOT do that. He continued to advise hydration, more testing, surgical procedure and medication despite cats age, history of chronic constipation and asthma, and not eating food or passing stool for over a week; literally up until the cats last dying breath and $1,600 later. I disagree with this thinking. Putting a dying cat into a carrier everiy day for a week and having it sit outside outside for numerous freezing days waiting for hydration in your parking lot, last dying day, almost 2 hours because you had 2 emergencies ahead of us, was horrible. Cat struggled in car. Vet didnt call us about the wait, literally stressed this cats heart. Despite hydration, cat died 2 hours later... An 82 yo woman should not have had to watch her cat die. Vet should have offered euthanasia.Now this womanhas to suffer with wrong decisions because of this vet.Learn from this Dr Lann and Dave....You broke our hearts.

One vet is rather harsh and not in any kind of a useful way. Makes my fiancee upset every time. The other staff members are always nice.

I discovered Cats Exclusively while searching for a feline exclusive vet when we moved to Rochester. Mostly weve dealt with Dr. Lann. He treated Mickey until the cats arthritis and kidney disease reached the point that Dr. Lann said, I cant do anything more for him. I appreciated the candor. Mickey was put down there at age 18. Now Kiwi sees Dr. Lann. Having used general vets for previous cats it is so relaxing for both cats and humans not to run a gauntlet of barking wolves (dogs) in an already stressful experience. Its kind of a hike to get to this practice but weve entirely satisfied.

Sad day for me yesterday, had to help my sweet little Gracie cross over the Rainbow Bridge. She has had Inflammatory Bowel Disease for a year, and was on anti-inflammatory meds. I hated to see her run from me, because she knew I needed to give her pills. It hurt me terribly to see a beloved pet run from me. Yesterday, I knew she was very thin, and didnt eat at all. Still purred, and still greeted me at the door with her tail raised, rolling over for her belly to be rubbed. Brought her in, and as it was late, Dr. Lann was gone. Dave was going to give her xrays and test for pancreatitis. Instead he brought me to a room, and told me she had lost too much weight, and had a big mass. I immediately decided with Daves guidance, that she should be put to sleep. Lisa was very kind and informative in the reception area, and Sherri helped Dave bring her into the room. I had been given many options, but I chose to be with her, hug her and kiss her, and then Dave, with Dr. Lanns authorization, gave her the shot to put her to sleep. Sherri even told me that as she was being prepped, Gracie was looking out the window at plants and birds. Dave was so kind , cant say enough positive things about him, and the rest of the staff. Often speak with Melinda and Pam, who are also gracious and caring! This practice is outstanding with communicating by phone and email! No waiting for hours and hours, sometimes DAYS for test results or information. Today I received a compassionate call from Dr. Lann, expressing his sympathy at the passing of my precious Gracie.

They went above and beyond helping my kitten JJ. He even had his own private butt-ler. lol

My family has been taking our cats here for over 20 years and we LOVE this vet! Staff is very friendly, vets are knowledgeable and caring.

All this place wants is money. They dont care about your animals. Dr. Lann I feel is very uncompassionate and talks over you. They seem to just want money and make you drive there multiple times for the same issue with your animal and the problem isnt even fixed. Dont go here.

Best vet we’ve ever had for our cat

This is the best vet I have ever been to. Everyone is very genuine, and they answer all of my anxious cat mama questions with zero irritation or hesitation. My cat had to get a critical surgery at 1.5 years old, and everything was explained in detail. We felt very prepared and relieved to be so well informed. Thank you for helping me and my sweet girl!

What a wonderful experience! My long-hairedcat needed grooming as her mats were close to her skin causing discomfort. I got an appointment within 2 weeks and they did an amazing job. Her little lion cut is adorable and she is more playful than ever. Very reasonably priced, too. Worth the 45 minute drive.

I love coming here! Everyone is always so nice to my cat and I. They really do try to keep it as laid back as possible so your cat doesnt get stressed out over going to the vet. They are gentle and really know how to care for cats.If you have questions about anything, they are normally really great about answering and helping out! Ive referred a few of my friends here and they all love going and happy that they learned about it. As long as you are aware of what goes on with your cat to be about to relay that information back, they will do a great job at diagnosing whats causing issues or remedying the issue if there are any.I highly recommend!!

Easy to find, and everything about this place seems like it was made to take the stress out of a veterinary visit. The parking lot is huge, leaving enough room to get everybody situated for the trip from the car to the very much wheelchair accessible entrance. Walking in youre greeted with smiles from an extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff, who never once made me feel rushed, out of place, or as if we were some sort of inconvenience - which has definitely been the case in more than one other place. The waiting area is made as much for our feline companions comfort as it is ours, but we didnt get to experience it for more than a moment as our appointment took place at exactly the scheduled time - perhaps even a minute or two early. We met with Doctor Lann, who could not have possibly had better bedside manner - addressing my concerns, asking and answering questions, and being very understanding of the relationship one can have with a pet and the emotions involved in deciding on their care. I cant possibly thank him & the staff here enough for taking the time to make my visit as easy as it was, and would HIGHLY recommend Cats Exclusively to anyone looking for a new, refreshing experience in caring for their cat that Ive simply never experienced anywhere else. Thank you Dr. Lann, and thank you to the entire staff!
