I cannot express how thankful I am for Steve and his training. My 7 month old Pit Lab rescue was extremely skittish and afraid of men and leashes. After only 1 hour with Steve we saw incredible improvement in my puppy and there is a sense of calm and life in her eyes that was starting to fade. I definitely recommend Steve if you need help with your fur babies, he really is amazing and a great person all around!

In order to give an honest review, I waited over a month to write this to see if the training sticks. And boy did it ever.We just had a baby and have a six month old boxer who was not responding to our own training.Steve is the best. Literally the best. I can not stress that enough. It is immediately apparent that he just loves dogs and is not doing this for money, which is why he is so popular. The difference we saw in one week would have been more than enough for most people, but with the baby we really wanted to get this dog following several commands. Four weeks later and this dog is a saint. She is so protective of our baby now and is able to hang out with us without constant supervision. She stopped jumping on the couch and chewing it, she walks next to us on a leash, she comes when called and most importantly, she doesn’t jump up on people anymore.I really can’t stress this enough, but you are wasting your time and money going anywhere but to Steve. If we need any refreshers or if our family has dogs that need training, they will be using Steve and Steve only. Thanks again man! You really helped make this life transition so much easier.

You will be hard pressed to find a better trainer than Steve! We have only been using him for a couple of weeks, but we saw remarkable results after one hour of training. We have an eight month old beagle, Lucy, who we did not think we would survive. Although she is not our first dog, or first puppy, she is the first dog we have had since having a baby and we were completely in over our heads! Steve had an answer and solution to every question, concern, and undesirable behavior. In the six months we have had Lucy, we are finally able to enjoy and connect with her now that our time is no longer spent feeling frustrated and overwhelmed. It is truly amazing how far a little obedience training and some helpful tips and tricks can go. I am convinced that Steve can fix any problem and train any dog! We as owners are learning just as much as Lucy is. Steve is kind and patient, and very clearly a natural with dogs, as well as people. His services are reasonably priced for the top-notch product he is providing. We look forward to our weekly sessions and cannot wait to see just how much our Lucy is capable of. Steve is a miracle worker and our only regret is that we did not find him sooner!

Steve is wonderfully kind, friendly and knowledgeable. Although our puppy was well-behaved, she was incredibly anxious. Steves visit and tips have helped her to become more social and much less fearful in a short time. Our puppy has more progress to make, but thanks to Steve she is off to a great start.

Steve is absolutely AMAZING. He has been working with my 2 puppies Moose and Milo (Pitbull/Black Lab and Yellow Lab/Jack Russell) for the past 3 months, and I am so happy with the results.Steve is so patient with the dogs and their humans - - as part of the learning curve is not just the dogs, but the humans too. He is also very accommodating with coming to the house during hours that work for you, and is always prompt for the session.Steve created a methodical approach based on what my families needs are and provided simple to use with that OH YEAH, THAT MAKES SENSE approach that we can all follow. The key is consistency with the entire family unit, and once that all set in with the adults and the kids, my 2 puppies are doing amazing. Each step along the way Steve will observe the dog and the persons interactions. He provides you with quality feedback and doesnt give you or the dog an unrealistic or unattainable tasks to help your fur-baby become the best they can be. There is no such thing as a stubborn dog, it might just be a misunderstanding of commands. This was a huge eye opener for us, and without Steve we would still be saying my dog was just being moody. Take the opportunity and make the call - you will not be disappointed.

I have been working with Steve from S.R. Dog Training for a few months now. He is truly a great find and has helped me transform my puppy into a smart, well mannered young dog. He has given us great tools to work with that are easy to follow and that clearly work very well. We started with basic commands and day to day issues such as proper leash walking and nipping. We are now using the remote collar for more advanced obedience and my puppy isnt even 6 months old yet!!! I cannot recommend him enough for what he has done for me and my pup!

I first met Steve when I adopted my first dog (an 8-week-old boxer mix). I had never had a dog, and as the weeks/months passed, I realized I was way over my head. She didnt listen, she jumped all over, she pulled on the leash, she didnt come when I called, she didnt like the crate, and she proved resistant to becoming housebroken. Steve changed everything. She became such a wonderful dog, and Steve helped me develop so much confidence that I went on and adopted two more dogs. I highly recommend him.

I adopted Tiger as my 1st dog in 2013 from Putnam Humane society where Steve was training him at the time. Tiger had a few minor incidents that deterred people from adopting him but I wanted to give him a chance. The transition from shelter to home was a bit rough, but Steve was there every step of the way to guide us through it. His calm/positive enforcement approach really did wonders for our boy. he learned to walk nicely on the leash next to me instead of dragging me, and stopped leash biting. I learned what Tiger needed in order for it to be a successful adoption. Through the years, Steve has always been invested in Tiger’s well being, and we are glad to be able to call him our trainer AND friend. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of a trainer.

Steve has provided clear, helpful advice and guidance to get our Labradoodle puppy trained and integrated into our family. He is effective and very professional. We believe Steve is the best dog trainer in the area and highly recommend him.

We have been dog owners for more than twenty years. Gracie is intense, stubborn, athletic and impossible to train. Enter Steve...in one lesson there was a noticeable change. Steve is a GREAT trainer, not only for dogs but for the people that have them. He makes sure that we are all speaking the same language (which in our house is a challenge). His temperment with people is WONDERFUL, and our little furry girl, will do ANYTHING for Steve.He comes to our house, training us all, we could not be more pleased.

I highly recommend S.R. Training. He is professional and reliable , helping with a brand new adopted puppy from house training to obeying commands. One of the best things is he listens to concerns before the sessions in order to address what the dog might need for that particular session.

If you want a true professional, this is your guy. We hired Steve for Dixie, our new Black Russian Terrier puppy. Dixie is going to be a big girl and it was essential to our family that she is well trained. 1 month in and we are blown away at how well she and her human parents are coming along. Steve is a true expert; he has definitely made a very positive impact for us. He is very responsive, on-time, offers great advice and tips that WORK. Highly recommend.

Steve has an amazing way with dogs and owners. He taught me methods to help control Tanner as we walked through our neighborhood. He used to chase cars and bark incessantly at them. With a couple of sessions with Steve, and follow up on my part Tanner is doing so much better. Im not embarrassed to walk around the neighborhood with him anymore. Steve has also taught me techniques to redirect Tanners attention when he sees another dog. Who says you cant teach an old dog new tricks? Steve has successfully taught Tanner and I some new tricks!
