From the moment I walked in, I could tell this was a place where pets are well cared for and treated like family. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and patient with all the questions I had. They made sure to note all the details about my dogs needs and preferences. The facility is spotless and the suites are spacious. When I picked Finn up, he was well groomed and happy.. in fact each time we go, he is like a little kid happy to go off and play with all his friends. It is clear the owners genuinely love what they do and put a lot of love into the place. The owners Chris and Samantha made sure to send me pictures through his stay and are the nicest people. I highly recommend Dog Town!
The only place I will board my dog! Casper has been going there for over 6 years. He is well taken care of and we never have to worry when we go away. He is an older dog and he’s able to get the proper care and is looked after by the caring staff. Highly recommend!
Avoid this place. I called and was quoted $250. I questioned the staff member that the price was correct. When dropping off my dogs I confirmed with two staff members at the desk that the price was $250. Upon picked up my dog they charged me $400. When I questioned the extreme discrepancy I was told that I should know the price. I asked to speak to the owner who was present but he refused to come out. They finally agreed to a discount but rather than refund money they additionally charged me another $84.I had to call the Police to get involved and they showed the police a fake receipt of a refund. The bank spoke to the police and after an hour the additional charge and refund were issued after police intervention. Also the amount refunded does not match the discrepancy. Oh, I was told not to bring my dogs back since I questioned the bill. This place only wants customers who they can overcharge and are happy to be ripped off!!!Stay away!!!!
I just picked up my golden doodle and husky from Dog Town, they had a two week boarding stay with daycare and full grooms before being picked up. They were well cared for and their grooms came out phenomenal (they smell terrific). I definitely recommend Dog Town for all of your pet care needs.
Let me start by saying that I NEVER leave reviews, but I feel I have not choice but to share so that others avoid this issue. We booked our golden doodle for a groom. I gave very specific instructions including a picture of what he should look like. He has a beautiful shiny coat, and we have had him groomed quite frequently over the past 3 years. When I went to pick him up with my mom I knew we were in trouble when my mom let out an audible gasp when she saw him. He literally looked like he had been electrocuted, or like a caricature of what a mutt in an alley would look like. His tail was chopped so short it looked like a rope toy, and there were tufts of uneven fur everywhere. The groomer asked if there was anything she wanted us to clean up but there was zero chance she was ever touching my dog again.I left and took him home at which point my wife was near tears upon seeing him. I called and asked for a manager, and got a call back FROM THE SAME GROOMER. So that was awkward! I explained I needed a manager, and eventually the owner called me back. He was very apologetic and said this had never happened before. He said that he could have another groomer try and fix it, but only at their Calverton location, which is 45 minutes from my house. He refused to offer any help at the location in Southold.I took him to Calverton today. The groomer there was very professional, but immediately told me that she was not a miracle worker and there was only so much she could do to fix this hatchet job. She also said she had to fix 3-4 dogs from this other groomer just this week! She did a professional job, and did the best she could, but in order to do that, she had to go really short to even out the places where he had basically been shaved down. My dogs hair is now 3x shorter than it ever has been before, to the point where I dont even recognize him.I called the owner back, and explained that I should not have had to pay for this service, as the other groomer admitted it was not a professional job, and that she had cleaned up multiple other dogs done by this first groomer. Additionally, I had to devote three hours of my day to getting this fixed. The owner said the best he could do was a 25% discount off of a future grooming, which I find laughable given this experience.I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE AVOID THIS PLACE FOR GROOMING AT ALL COSTS!!!
I have brought my dogs here for many years, about 15 years. At the time of my last encounter, it cost $44 to have your dog spend the day. But when I picked my dog up ten minutes after 5 pm, they penalized me $25. I was outraged. I will never again use their services. They alienate customers for a measly $25 and lose future income. Not a good policy, charging more than 50% of the day’s cost for any lateness. You lost my business. So, for a fine of $25, you sacrificed hundreds of dollars.
We have been feeding our dog Primal frozen patties for 7 years. Price has gone up in that time- $34 - $50 per bag at its highest. We were charged $247 for 3 bags of food! I called because I thought it had to be a mistake. The young man on the phone was dishonest and unprofessional. The manager avoided my call. Shame on you for price gouging, unprofessionalism and dishonesty!
We usually use the Hydrant Hotel in Riverhead but they were booked up. We were under the impression that Dog Town was associated with the Hydrant Hotel (which they formerly were) but they’re not. We dropped 2 of our dogs off at Dog Town for a 2.5 day stay and it was chaotic during the check in and we didn’t get a warm and fuzzy feeling. We reserved two separate kennels and individual play time so the dogs would be safe away from other dogs. Upon pick up, one of the owners asked if we wanted the dogs in two separate kennels. I asked where the dogs stayed for the past 2.5 days since he was asking me this question. One of my dogs was injured and would not put her rear leg down and cried throughout the night. Either Dog Town knew the dog was injured and didn’t tell us or they didn’t pay close enough attention to see that the dog was injured. A trip to my vet revealed that my dog had a sprain in her rear leg. Dogs get injured, that’s not the problem, but not being told about it was a major issue. I would not use Dog Town in the future, even if it meant staying home with my dogs instead of traveling.
Really disappointed with Dog Town!! This was our pups first boarding experience. I brought him in the weekend before so everything wasntso new. Our dog is 90lbs and uses his big bark basically becauses he isafraid in new situations with new people. The were 3 staff members there, we used the time to get acquainted. We left and everyone said see you next week. We even got an email reminder during the week about our upcoming boarding appt. When we arrived the following week our pup barked alot again since he was in an unfamiliar place with new people. The owner was called and evaluated our pup and said sorry they would not be able to board him. I guess I get their response, he thought it was too much of a risk for his staff because our pup is a big dog. What I dont get and find very unacceptable is that Dog Town didnt say anything the week before. They left us in the lurch. What dog owner wants to be left with no boarding options for the pup that they love. Shame on you Dog Town!
Our pup has separation anxiety so it was very tough to board her for the first time the weekend of our wedding. They were absolutely wonderful, making me feel calmer during a horrible drop off the night before and then were perfect the day-of. We will use them again if we ever have to!
GREAT EXPERIENCE! I found out about Dog Town online and ended up calling and making a reservation for my two older German Shepherds. The were so friendly, thorough and professional. I asked a family member to stop by and check out Dog Town (I live out of state) and when they got there they had nothing but great things to say as well as about what they saw (everything from the attentiveness of the staff to the condition of the facility). A few times I emailed back and forth with the staff to ask questions and they were so helpful and friendly. When I dropped off the dogs I found the facility clean, calm (seriously!), pleasant and left the dogs there feeling really good. From all that I could tell they were taken care of very well at Dog Town and I have absolutely nothing negative to say whatsoever. I live out of state and was in town visiting family, but if I lived closer Dog Town would be my go-to. I know when I leave the dogs there next time Im in town I can do so confident that they will be well cared for. Highly, highly recommend!!!!!!
Dog town is top notch in every way. My dog is not easy to groom, not only can they groom him, he is becoming easier to groom. This has been achieved by their caring staff and consistency. They also offer day care and overnight sleepovers. The best part is someone stays with the dogs overnight. The owners truly care about their customers, I highly recommend this business. I was also able to find dog toys made in the USA in their store. The prices are very reasonable for the level of servicethey provide.
I wouldnt bring my dog anywhere else. The staff actually truly care about the dogs here. The owners do everything and anything they can to make the stay comfortable. I love it!
They have done a great job grooming my daughters dog for years. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.Aside from the grooming they also have a retail operation with food and toys.
Their negligence led to my dog escaping through the front door and getting hit by a car. This place killed my dog and they didnt even contact us for days. They said they dont even know what day it happened on.
They really care about the dogs. Doggie daycare and boarding services are exceptional.
Absolutely love that Miles is so happy when he shows up. They are professional and reliable when it comes to taking care of our furry family members
No other place that I would trust our pup on the north fork. Very friendly staff and extremely knowledgeable.
Dogtown is great and so is the staff!!!However, it’s super expensive.
Amazing and loving staff! I highly recommend DogTown of Southold! Amazing place ❤️
Best staff and my dog loves it there
My dog seems happy when I picked him up. I think first time customers should be given a tour of the facility. And they didnt offer that.
Great people they love dogs and they understand service.
My dog was very happy to go back the second time we boarded. Usually I cant get him to go back in to a boarding kennel after leaving him the first time. This time, he walked right in, and the staff remembered him and greeted him immediately. I will continue to bring my dog here even though it is a long drive for me to get to the facility from where I live.
Nice atmosphere, very clean and animals are treated very well!
My pup loves Dog Town!🐶
Never called when my order came in I waited 3 weeks You need to do what you say you are going to do I wont be back
