We recently rescued a new pup, Lil Ricky! He had a few little things I wanted to work on but also a great fear of going into the car!Asha was amazing! With her positive energy and treats🥰 she gave us some good pointers and also helped getting over the fear !!! we got him in and out of the car a bunch of times and got him to be patient and wait so he wasn’t like ready to throw himself out!! Also working on his obsessive compulsivness with the ball and checking in with us by eye contact before we throw it… and got him in the crate quite easily with a few more tricks!!Would highly recommend het!!
Asha is an excellent dog and dog-parent trainer! Weve had her come to our home for terrific individual sessions and have had the wonderful opportunity to attend one of her six week dog training classes over the summer with our two sweet rescues who can, without training, be a handful! We loved the class so much weve signed up for another in October! In both individual and group training, Asha is always positive, upbeat and super caring! She really knows her stuff about training. Our two have grown and improved lots since weve worked with her. My partner and I would definitely recommend Asha and the North Fork School for Dogs.
North Fork School for Dogs is an incredible, multifaceted, training program, that makes for a fulfilling and fun bonding experience with your dog. I went from being embarrassed to my lab, Miss LuLus wild behavior, to being a proud parent of a Canine Good Citizen! My life became exponentially easier and a lot more fun because of Ashas class & then we moved on to do Agility For Fun classes and had a blast. Additionally, My new Rescue part lab puppy, Libby-Lu, quickly learned the basics of puppy good manners in the AKC Puppy Star class & that set the stage for a great bond, and ability to participate in Agility For Fun with her as well. The Socialization & learning skills for dogs are both psychologically & physically great - and I can also say the same was true for me!
If you want positive results working with your dog, work with Asha , North Fork School for Dogs! She has helped both me and my dog reactive pooch go from a lunging Cujo when she sees another dog to a wonderfully behaved one. I have learned so much from Asha and am better able to handle my dog- and have worked with her with both private lessons and group classes. Daisy and I just signed up for our 3rd group class with Asha. Informative and FUN!
Cant recommend Asha Gallagher highly enough. Shes an amazing trainer, and she supported and directed us through difficult weeks of integrating a small rescue dog into our canine and human family. Shes infinitely patient, positive and skillful, and thanks to her we now have a happy, well-trained and well-adjusted dog. Thank you!
Asha has been working Caleb, and has given me great insight into his behavior. Terriers are not always the easiest to train, but working with Asha we learned how to use positive reinforcement, and putting it into practice every day. Our goal is getting him Canine Good Citizen and I think we are on our way. Thank you Asha.
Ashas, behavioral training classes were very enlightening and helpful with my over playful chocolate lab, Georgia. She was able to instruct me on how to change her , jumping up behaviors, and pulling on her leash. Georgia enjoyed her classes also, she is much calmer and comes when called. Thank you Asha.
We trained with Asha over the summer and not only had a fun time, but learned so many skills to take home and practice. Our puppy, Lola, was a challenge, but did great in class and has continued to improve since. I look forward to another class this summer.
Ashas method of teaching is fun for the dog and fun for the trainer. The experience of working with the dog is always positive ... positive reinforcement and good treats work wonders. Even when occasionally the dog needs to wear the yellow scarf of shame its for the benefit of all of the dogs in the group.
We did both group and private sessions with both Asha and Dawn. The progress Lili has made is incredible. She is a fearful dog, but so many of our issues have been addressed. She no longer pulls me over when a squirrel appears and she is learning to sit when people come into the house. Reaction to other dogs still needs work but I was unable to be consistent due to my elderly mothers needs. I cant wait to resume the training when spring comes. If it had not been for Dawn and Asha, I think I would have had to return Lili to the shelter. We love her dearly but at our ages, we needed help and it was given lovingly and consistently. Thank you so much.
Finding North Fork, specifically Dawn, was such a blessing for us. We have a 9 month old miniature Goldendoodle (Lucy) that is extremely hyper and loves everybody and everything. She gets so excited when visitors come and jumps on them incessantly. Dawn was wonderful, showing me and Lucy some tricks of the trade in order to keep her calmer when we have guests. She gave us plenty of information through handouts so that we can reference them as needed. During the process with Lucy, we got Ricky, a 12 week old miniature Labradoodle. Dawn also showed me some cues to do with Ricky in order to begin to get him focused and ready for training when he is old enough. I would highly recommend North Fork, specifically Dawn, as she has patience, love and immense knowledge and really knows how to train. Training begins with the owner, she taught me that as well. Thank you, Dawn. I am glad you decided to make Sarasota one of your homes.
Asha was very helpful in training our dogs and training us. Our dogs respond well to her and they have stayed with her when we travel
Hi.our experience with Dawn from nofo school for dogs has been rewarding…………..our FRENCHIE…..Wolfgang started with her at 6 mos..a smarty dog but willful……….she handled him so well.we are now adding on to is education at the PUPPY GROUP on Sundays…..a good experience and he retained much of his learning.thanks to his teacher…………
North Fork school for dogs is the best. Our mini dachshund Bruno took the puppy course & we all loved it.
Asha is great. Has a lot of patience and knowledge of dogs.
Asha is a Great teacher. !!! Positive results. Clear explanations of training techniques. Planning on continuing when this session is completed.
Our 10 month old Bouiver had decided that he had enough with listening to Mom & Dad. After about a week of thinking he was just having a moment we decided to seek the wisdom of Asha at the North Fork Dog School for Dogs. This was the best decision we have ever made! After only a few private lessons we were all able to get back on the same team and have a happier puppy! The training methods she uses are positive and effective. I would recommend this school to anyone who is looking to build a better understanding on how to live relevantly in their dogs lives! Thanks so much!!!!
Amazing dog trainer!
