Made the switch from East Greenbush Vet to 4 Paws and honestly have been loving how great the receptionists and doctors are with my cats. HOWEVER i recently brought a fecal test in for my cat who was having some diarrhea/mucus stool. Test came back negative on parasites but to be certain, was prescribed a powder to mix with the food as a preventative. Here is the costs- 50 dollars to run the test, no problem. 51 dollars for 6 bags of powder to mix in the food. Now we have an issue. The same medication over the counter is 5 dollars....a 500% increase for simple dewormer when the test was already negative on parasites. I definitely feel like i got GOT. I had assumed it was going to be way cheaper for a powder. Had i known before i was standing at the counter i wouldnt have paid for this. i would have just gone to chewy or PetSmart for what i needed. I still really enjoy 4 paws. They do a great job with everything for my pets and ill continue to go there. HOWEVER, i do feel like its just bad form to have me come pay 50 dollars for a product i could get for 5 elsewhere when 1. the test was negative so this was a recommendation from the vet as a preventative measure and 2. if were in the business of helping animals and the test was already negative help my wallet by telling me about a similar product that is 500% cheaper. I REALLY dont like how i feel after this interaction and feel like i got scammed for sure. But again, i want to preface, i do love 4 paws. They do an incredible job and every other interaction Ive had with my cats and business there has been fantastic so you should absolutely bring your animals here but just be mindful of them pushing products you can get for much much cheaper. (also i understand if this was a more serious issue, any medication they would be prescribing/recommending should be used and trusted 10000% more than over the counter medication....but this was just a dewormer.)

I just moved to the area a week ago and Im still getting settled... of course that doesnt mean life stops. My doggy started coughing and they were concerned at daycare. I hadnt established a new vet yet but needed to take him somewhere asap. 4 Paws got me in within a couple hours. Everyone there was amazing and the facility is very clean. Im looking forward to continuing to do business with them.

Back in January I rescued a kitten. They answered all my questions, teach me how to cut her claws, treat Binx with love and respect. They always on time and even remember us each visit. Next week we will leave Binx boarding at the vet hopefully the great experience continues.

4 Paws consistently shows professionalism and empathy. By the actions of the veterinarians and the staff, I know my beloved dog is receiving the best possible care. Everyone there has treated us compassionately and honestly.

Booked day of yesterday for 3:30. Arrive at 3:40 due to a wrong turn. Wait in the parking lot and text they say on phone, signs, and text. Text wrong #, 3:43. Text correct number 3:48. Appointment cancelled. Go inside to explain situation: 3:58. Reschedule for today. Doc leaves early, appointment cancelled AGAIN by 9am. Next available is next week, cant make it because of transportation problems. Doc has a good reason to leave and her staff are so supportive.Im dropping 1/2 a paycheck and missing work to try and get my cat seen. My life is on hold while I try and take care of him. Hes flea ridden and Im trying to safely exit a flea infested house and need help/guidance something anything to start living in my new home with my cat happy and healthy. Doc has a good reason to leave, and good for the staff, but my time isnt worthless. My cat needs help.I asked if there was any way I could just get help or advice but never got an answer.I guess my experience is based on a series of bad coincidences and office policy, but if I feel like my concerns are being taken seriously and like they genuinely care for him Ill update.Ill be there in 2 weeks (if no one sees him sooner) with my belongings packed up in boxes until I know how to help my cat.Edit: not even sure if I have an appointment now, communication is strange to me.They will not be seeing me due to this concerning 1 star review.

We love this place! Dr. Cook is fantastic, the front desk staff are lovely, and our vet tech today Tyler was so incredibly nice and easy going that are scared kitty was even on her best behavior.

Hello! I just had the worst experience at 4Paws with Dr. Wiggins! I have been taking my 3 cats there for over 6 years. My cat Nando hates going to the vet, threw up and vomited in the cage. I waited for a vet tech to come help me so I could clean up the cage before the appointment. I waited 15 minutes and other clients came up to me asked about Nando and if we needed help When I finally got into Dr. Wiggins 30 minutes later, she stated three times that “I spoke to her clients about my cat and did I not think she may have been saving another’s animal life.” Dr. Wiggins became angry and assumed that I was talking negatively about her to her clients which clearly was not the case!! Dr. Wiggins either assumed from the video surveillance or listened that I was annoyed about the wait for a tech! Beware of Dr. Wiggins, she spent time looking at the surveillance and listening rather than sending a tech out to assist meThere are so many other vets in the area. Beware of camera surveillance!!!!She lost a long standing client with 3 cats!!!

This office is incredible. We used to go to a different veterinarian, but we recently moved back to Averill Park. By somewhat of a surprise, my elderly beagle woke up with health issues and had to be put to sleep. I knew we wouldn’t make it to our other vet’s office in time. I had never even had a pet that was a patient at 4 Paws. Despite this, when I called in a panic at our emergency situation, they advised me to bring my dog in asap and they would fit her in/move appointments. They explained all of our options, costs, possibility of treatments, percentage of a successful outcome, etc. They were extremely patient with us and let me sit in our room as long as I needed to make a decision, knowing that we had never even been patients there and were complete strangers to the practice. They did not rush me or make me feel like I needed to leave to open up the room for the other patients waiting for their appointments. They were sensitive to the situation and beyond caring both for their animal patients, as well as their owners. I didn’t have time to bring my one-year-old anywhere before going to the office, because my dog was suffering so badly, so I had to bring my daughter with me. The 4 Paws staff brought in one of those big activity cube toys for my daughter to keep her occupied. They also had front office staff watch her as I stayed in the room with my dog being put to sleep. I received a sympathy card a couple weeks later, signed by a bunch of the staff. 4 Paws went above and beyond to make one of the worst experiences as a pet owner bearable. For that, I thank them all a hundred times over. I hope they are accepting new patients, because I’d love for my other dog to be seen there. If they are, I won’t ever go to another practice. I highly recommend them to anyone reading this review. Thank you again to all of the 4 Paws staff for everything you did for us 🙏💕

Brought our little pup willow for her first visit. she loved it and everyone she came I. Contact with. The were kind and professional answered questions and provided the best recommendations for a new puppy owner. Dr. Cook called to follow up two days later to see if we had anymore question. This was the best experience.

Always a good experience with 4 paws. Ive taken 2 cats, a rabbit and now my puppy goes here. Everyone is very friendly and Dr Wiggins is very helpful.

We have been taking our pets to 4paws for years. All the staff here are amazing! They’re so loving towards our pets both dogs and cats. Highly recommend!

Booked an appointment. They messed it up. Treated me like an idiot. Had to prove my appointment Asked to have owner call. Nothing. Worst place ever. Don’t trust them. Evil. And charged me for a vet consultation fee. I never talked to a vet. Court here we come.

Ive taken my dog, Benny, to 4 Paws for over 4 years, and completely trust their care. When Benny twisted his back, Dr. White took time not only to treat him, but taught me about the remedies, and the choices I had in his treatments. He is fine now, back to his playful antics, and looks forward to visits with his friends!

We had to have our dog put down on Fathers day. We were not currently seeing Dr. Wiggins but her office was open and she was able to help us. It was harder then I thought to have to do. But her staff made the whole process so much easier. Kind, consoling, and so helpful in the whole process. The nurse went above and beyond to be helpful and caring. The 4 paws staff is very professional. So they will take the best care of your animals. You can always discuss the treatment options with her and her staff. I have had many interactions with Dr.Wiggins and her staff since and they are the best people. Thank you!

4 Paws has taken great care of my dogs and cats. Currently Harry my 16 year old cat is getting subcutaneous fluids once a week to support his health. He always feels better after getting the fluids. Everybody at 4 Paws loves Harry.

Weve been bringing our dogs here for a while. I have caught employees there peaking around corners to look at the dogs coming in with smiles on their faces. Very much an air of loving animals.We said goodbye to one of our dogs at 4 paws. They did everything to make her comfortable and make the process easy. A whole lot of techs from the back came out to see her off. She was dumb as a brick but undeniably cute and very popular with the staff. It meant a lot to us to see how much they really cared about her.

I have been with 4 Paws since 2021 when my kitty Jenna started to have oral pain and wasnt eating. Dr. Cook was very attentive and answered all my questions as we pursued diagnoses for Jenna. Between referrals for oral cancer biopsy and providing palliative care options, Dr. Cook was there for me in one of the hardest times. I am so appreciative of the love and care they showed Jenna, and the empathy shared with me as I had to make some hard decisions for end of life arrangements for Jenna. The office sent me a kind card in the mail, and even had a tree planted in a national forest to commemorate Jenna.When Jenna sent me my guardian angel Penny through Animal Lovers Rescue, I knew that I would be continuing to see 4 Paws, Dr. Cook, and Dr. Wiggins for the care of my sweet girl. I am forever grateful and can not recommend them enough!

2024 - At one point, 2 years ago, I rated them a 5 star. Outstanding, friendly, etc. However since covid, they do NOT answer their phone, everything is via text. Made an appt for a thursday, got there and was told it was a tech appt and not for a vet. Took blood, couldnt get a hold of someone for 4 business days, then they called only get my payment, not even address the results! Doctor finally calls and says ok lets make an appt, will have someone call you tomorrow. Never happened. They called the day after, and again, asking for payment. Fed up. I will not be returning. I have no idea how they are rated TU best of.....

We boarded our 5 year old mixed breed a few weeks ago for the first time. I am so impressed with everything about 4 Paws. Super friendly staff and very clean. We had no worries while we were away and she was in great spirits when we picked her up. Thank you, 4 Paws! We are very pleased with your services.

We had to make the hard decision of putting our kitty to sleep that we loved so much. The staff was kind and compassionate during this difficult time. We highly recommend them for your pets care

Amazing clinic with even more amazing people!!! I recently rescued a cat that was abandoned and locked in a filthy basement, and brought him here to make sure he was healthy and to get his limp looked at. Instantly, he fell in love with every person that came in to visit us. Dr Cook and her team had him purring non-stop, and throughout his exam he was so calm I couldn’t believe it. He went from hiding every time he heard a pin drop, to waiting by the door, excited for the next person to come! They understood that due to this rescue being a last minute surprise for me, that finances would be a trouble. They worked out the perfect care plan for us, addressing everything my boy would need in a cost effective way, and sent him home ready for him to start a normal life. I can’t recommend them enough, and will be taking all my animals here in the future!

An anxious phone call to 4 Paws led to an amazingly compassionate response and the scheduling of a same day appointment for my girl to be seen. Its worked out well and the peace of mind that I experienced based upon the amazing response of the 4 Paws staff has put us all in a better place. Thank you 4 Paws!

What a great experience! When you pull up you park in numbered spots with signs. You text to check in. Sam (a real person who is friendly and professional) send you a text back. A tech will come and gently take your pet, (I believe Meghan was her name, again she was very sweet and professional) The vets assistant will call you to get background information and an idea of whatever is going on. Then your vet comes out (we had Dr.Cook she’s fantastic! ) she explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions, addressing all of my concerns. All while standing in 35degree weather and never making us feel rushed. The compassion, understanding, care and how friendly all the staff is really makes such a difference. Unlike other vets in the past Ididn’t feel pressured to do what I thought was wrong, I wasn’t made to feel bad for not doing something outside of what I could afford. We came for a second opinion on our elderly small dog. We thought we only had 2 options. Hundreds of dollars in pills every month that made our girl so unhappy or the worst case of putting her down. She is in much better shape than we thought, we have a plan we can manage and she’s happier for it, the whole experience,amazing service from all the staff. I’d highly recommend! I also love how they appreciate my girl’s personality. They call her spicy and from now on that’s what we will say to describe her. First time ever she isn’t trembling and mad at me leaving the vet!

Maybe you can find just as great or greater than Dr. Wiggins and all staff. I am not interested in finding out, because SHE IS THE BEST. I have had enough years with Vets to know a rare gem when I meet one and her staff is a clear reflection of Dr. Wiggins essence, her deep love and commitment to our pets, her customer service expertise and every other little..and big detail that goes into creating the 4 Paws services. As authentic as it gets. Dr. Wiggins and support staff are as real as it gets. If you deeply care about your pet, you must experience the 4 Paws care team!!!! I dont do reviews. I simply dont. I cannot be bothered and I am typically underwhelmed and disappointed by most ...NOT so with Dr. Wiggins. I was compelled to write this. Do your self and pet a great favor. 4 Paws deserves a 10 star rating. We have been going to 4 Paws for 9 years now and absolutely love it. We are very happy with Janelle and the staff. our dog loves going to the vet, because she gets so much love and attention there. The professional staff is wonderful and take such goood care of our dog Amber when she boards there, Or needs to come in for her shots and physical.Dr. Wiggins is amazing she shows so much love and compassion to all the Animals in her care. It is a very welcoming environment and our dog feels right at home there. It’s her home away from home.

We love 4 Paws Veterinary Care. We LOVE our doctor there Dr. Wiggins. She is a great person and Doctor. Very very skilled and passionate about what she does also compassionate and caring. She always takes the time she needs with us i feel she is very generous with her time. She always goes above and beyond. She is so amazing she even calls us after we have been in to see how my dog is doing. They are very through in making sure they cover every angle possible for my dog and they go above and beyond every time we are there. They are all very professional but also so nice! The facility is Beautiful and there is a very warm welcoming atmosphere. I know for a fact that my dog feels very comfortable going there as do I. I know they take the absolute best care of my dog. They also do a excellent job in making the pet owner feel at home and calm they are very very compassionate. I have been bringing my cats to Dr. Wiggins and company since I moved to the area in 2009. Top notch. They have always been there for my buds.

If I could rate more than 5 stars, Id give 4 Paws 20. I started bringing my bulldog in when we brought him home in December 2017 and never left. After moving in with my boyfriend I had him start bringing his dog and cat here.We recently started seeing Dr Cook, and what a god sent shes been. Aside from normal vet care, Dr Cook and the Technicians go above and beyond to help you through the hardest of times, treat you like on of the family, and never try to push the extras on you like other places do.Just last month we had to put the oldest of our two boys to sleep. This was excruciating. Dr Cook and Janelle as well as numerous other Techs who worked so hard with our aggressive anxiety ridden boy before he went always treated us with respect and didnt judge us for keeping such a hard dog in our lives. After sent him over the rainbow bridge we received a card in the mail saying a tree had been dedicated to him in one of the National Parks and a week later we got a hand written card form Dr Cook and every Tech who had come into contact with us before with sincere condolences filling every side. You really dont understand the impact this has on you until you get something like this for the dog who was definitely the hardest to be around and never the easiest to love.The love and respect you receive in this practice is second to none.I hope Dr Cook makes this place her home for the rest of her career and sincerely thank all staff for their kindness in the worst time for my family.We love you all!!

I have been taking my animals to 4 paws for years. They are so nice and accommodating. Dr Wiggins is wonderful.

I recently boarded my dog here and had a great experience. Prior to this, when I have boarded my dog (at other places) he has always came back looking sad, not acting himself and not eating for a few days to weeks after. Since switching to this vet and loving it, I figured I would try boarding as well. I was very happy when picking my dog up to see no change in him, which was so telling that it was a pleasant experience for him. He continued to be his playful and happy self after boarding and his appetite was still there. So glad I found a place where I feel comfortable using both services (vet and boarding).

My Mom and I have been clients of 4 PAWS for almost 13 years when we first rescued our 2 very sick kitties. I refuse to go elsewhere for veterinary care. 4 PAWS is top notch and Dr. Wiggins and her staff are extra extra extra ordinary. We love them!!! There is nothing fake of phony about Dr. Wiggins and her team. THAY LOVE animals and are so caring and concerned for each and every pet brought in. No cookie cutter approach here! Weve been bringing our dog, Princess for over 10 years and are always pleased with the care and concern given to our pet. The staff is friendly and courteous and the doctors are committed to giving the best care possible. Daycare is excellent as are the grooming services. All around, 4 Paws is the place to get the best care for your pet.

Got a quarantine pup back in October, Scout, who was a 9 week old rescue from the south. Part of the puppy contract was to see a vet within the first week of adoption. 4 Paws was the TENTH vet office I called and the first one to say it was no problem to get Scout in quickly. Since then, we have had many trips to 4 Paws as part of the necessary preventative care for pups. Staff have all been extremely friendly and helpful. Scout is my first dog and everyone has helped make the process easier. I think everyone in the office knows how excited Scout has been for every visit - and that just goes to show the level of care she gets inside the office. Lastly, 4 Paws has been doing a great job dealing with COVID safety procedures and still making office trips go smoothly. Thank you 4 Paws!

Dr. Wiggins has been my dogs Vet since she was a puppy. She is soon to be 16 with arthritis and chronic kidney disease, weve had numerous soft tissue injuries so we have spent more than our fair share of time with the Vet! The team at 4Paws has always been extremely helpful and just wonderful to my dog. She has always received excellent care. The staff is professional and always makes the stress of bringing a sick pet in for care a little bit more relaxed. I recommend them highly!

The kindness, caring, expertise, and professionalism at 4 Paws is a huge comfort and relief to pet owners in need. The staff is empathetic to both pets and their humans. Without skipping on treatment options a bit, the staff is also attuned to cost-effectiveness - which is refreshing and much appreciated. Our family has been a multiple pet household for more than 30 years among five states, and we have never been as happy as this with our veterinary care.

We have been clients of 4 Paws for about four and a half years now. In this instance, which occurred yesterday, we were concerned about some symptoms exhibited by our kitty within the previous 12 hours and were able to get a same-day appointment.Since our previous appointment, I noted the presence of two new employees: Janelle at the front desk, and Megan, a veterinary technician. Both were courteous and friendly, complimented our kitty on her beauty, and went out of their way to ensure we were both comfortable. They also checked that our personal and pet’s profile information was updated, and served us without delay.Doctor Lisa Wiggins was, as always, friendly and professional. She asked good questions about our kitty’s symptoms, recent diet and behavior, and explained what she was doing as she examined our pet.Both the doctor and technician were gentle in their handling of our kitty, and we were very satisfied with the diagnosis and prescription (which we were able to obtain on the spot).Dr. Wiggins also requested that I follow-up with her today on our pet’s status, which I have done. Our kitty is doing very well and, in fact, seems to be particularly playful and happy. I told them that our kitty seemed to have concluded that the kind treatment she received, and the compliments, amounted to more of a day spa-like experience, rather than a medical visit!Overall, we have found the folks at 4 Paws to be friendly and professional, and have no reason to do anything but trust in their knowledge and expertise. Both our kitties have been treated for urinary tract infections in the period of time we’ve taken them here. One case was resolved quickly, while the other required two rounds of antibiotics to kill the infection. In both cases, it was apparent that the doctor’s primary concern was our pet’s health, and, equally important, that we understood the diagnosis, costs involved, and our mutual responsibilities.

We could not be happier with the care provided by the staff. We have been bringing our Golden Buddy for 10+ years to 4 paws. When he had to have surgery a few years ago they worked out a financial plan for us which helped tremendously at that time. Since then, Buddy has been diagnosed with cancer and they have helped us and provided a plan forward to make him as comfortable as possible while keeping us informed and checking on his progress often. We recently brought 2 more pups into our family and continue to use 4paws because of the care and options they provide us. Highly recommend them for all your fur baby needs.

The vet REFUSED to see my 30 pound adult dog unless he was given Trazadone AND didn’t tell us until we pulled in for the appointment. Not only do I expect better service, but I expect better training. My dog has NEVER shown any aggressive tendencies and he doesn’t even bark. If they can’t handle a fluffy little Pomeranian, they don’t deserve to continue practicing veterinary care. Clearly, they are more interested in the deal they have with the pharmacy company than the pets we are bringing in. Trazadone isn’t even FDA approved for dogs. If you look it up, it actually makes them MORE SICK. But, then again, why do they care? The sicker our pets are, the more money they make. DISGUSTING!

We first met Dr. Wiggins in her former practice where she took great care of our pets, especially when our dog was attacked by a neighbors Rottweiler that broke its chain and nearly killed our young dog in our own yard. She treated his many deep lacerations with countless stitches and kept close tabs on him during his recovery. Chance has loved Dr. Wiggins since and we followed her to 4 Paws where she continues to take wonderful care of him, now 14, and our two 4 year-old cats that Dr. Batista raised from 1 day old and we adopted.All treatment options and costs are discussed and explained at each visit, with no pressure. The staff has always been wonderful with all of our pets and are very helpful at each visit or on the phone.Levada the groomer has been wonderful with Chance (a Sheepdog mix), even with his advanced arthritis making it difficult to get him in often. She always takes her time with him and has him looking dapper and happy when we pick him up.We really appreciate the care we receive at 4 Paws and highly recommend them.

Ive been bringing my pup here since she joined our family 3 years ago. On her first appointment, Dr, Wiggins scooped her up, carried her around the office and gave her treats to make her feel comfortable. She wags her tail when we go to visit and loves the people there, and they all give her love back. My only complaint is that sometimes they dont give enough instructions or let me know when they need specimens for testing and I have to do the extra drive to drop them off another day. And sometimes they run late but that happens in every doctor/vet office where emergencies happen. I recommend them!

We love 4 Paws!! I used them years ago, and one of the best things about our new house in Wynantskill is that we can return to using their services. 4 Paws is not our primary vet but recently we were upstate visiting family and my dog had to be seen for an ear infection. I called 4 Paws and they were so friendly and accomodating over the phone. They were able to fit my dog in very quickly, which I was thankful for. Also, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they are taking extra precautions and not letting any pet owners into the building. So, I pulled up, gave them a call, they came and got my dog and took him inside and the rest of the appointment was over the phone. It was extremely efficient and made me feel very safe.The vet was so wonderful and explained everything thoroughly. I would highly recommend 4 Paws to anyone!

My dog Winston was unfortunately attacked by another dog at daycare. The daycare staff rushed him to 4 Paws and they took care of him. The aftercare was perfect, Ive never had a vet that truly cared as much as 4 paws, nor have I ever had a vet that the dog LOOKED FORWARD to going to.

My dog Roody has been going here for doggie daycare for 4 years and he loves it. Also I use their boarding which is excellent for when I need to travel. The staff is friendly, the facilities are very clean, and the rates are great compared to others. I have also used grooming services and have never had an issue with anything or anyone there. Keep up the good work!

My girlfriend and I had to bring our cat in to be checked after having some health issues, unfortunately his health had deteriorated and he had to be euthanized. The team at 4 paws provided amazing service even in the face of the current pandemic, they worked with me to stay within my price range while keeping the best interest of our cat in mind and when we found it was time to have him put down their team was very empathetic and allowed us time to see him while helping numb his pain with medicine so that he could enjoy his final moments with his family. They were very compassionate and did a great job of keeping us updated as new information was obtained from the tests performed. I would highly recommend them to anyone, especially if you are on a budget and need a team who can work with you. We even received a card with condolences, a tuft of fur, what seems to be a stone with a paw print imprinted within which was very touching.

I am a total helicopter mom when it comes to my fur family, and 4 Paws is my choice for their veterinary care. I started taking my pets to 4Paws about 2 years ago. At that time, my cat Reba was 16 years old and losing a lot of weight. Dr. Wiggins not only performed necessary tests, but took the time to research a prescription diet that would best address Reba’s medical condition. Reba is now an 18-year-old fluffy, happy kitty. In addition, my beagle Charlie goes to daycare once a week and loves all the staff. He could care less when I leave because he and all his buddies are treated like superstars.

If you care your pet, watch this comment!The first time we visited 4 Paws, they said my dog have heart murmur which might be just innocent murmur and also found parasite in its body. They gave us medicine.However, they didnt ask for stool sample to check again the next few time we visited. How do we know if the issue already solve or not? Moreover, after few months past, my puppy already 6-7 months old. They didnt check him again about the heart murmur.***The last time I went, they said they wanna discuss the neutering procedure and schedule when to do it. Luckily, I upset how their service is and already schedule an appointment with another vet care, I bring up the heat murmur issue and they said my puppy have 2-3 scale of heart murmur and would NOT recommend to do neutering until the specialist said it is safe to do it.I also used their pet boarding service, I dont know what had happened. The day I picked up my dog, no one inside, and I have to wait for 30 mins, which is not so big deal. BUT, my dog is hella dirty, there is vomitus on his belly, his bed is soaked with pee. When I got back his bed, I didnt know. The staff didnt say a word. I just put it on my car seat, well, thanks to 4 paws staff, my car seat smell now.Last but not least, they said because of the covid, they cannot let the pet parents go in. Every time I bring my puppy in, he came back out very dirty. I cannot see how they treated my dog. All other vet already let pet parent in. I think it is just an excuse.How come they have so many stars with their careless service?

Dr. Wiggins, Dr. White and the entire staff at 4 Paws are amazing. They genuinely care about each and every animal that comes thru that door as well at their owners. I have been there with two of my cats over the past 4 years. While some of the diagnosis they have to deliver is devastating to hear, they explain in detail the condition, options and reality of what is to be expected. They were there to share in the victories and hug me during my loss. I go to 4 Paws knowing that my beloved four legged pet will be in the best possible care. Thank you all for caring so much.

Dr. Wiggens and her staff are extremely caring, friendly and professional. When I take our dog for visits, they are attentive, gentle and know how to handle him. They take excellent care of him and are thorough to make sure nothing is missed. We are truly thankful to have found 4 Paws Veterinary Care, Dr. Wiggens and everyone there. It is a pleasure knowing our dog is in excellent hands every time we have to take or leave him there!

We brought our very anxious pittie mix in just last evening and had a great experience. Both the doctor and the tech were supportive and sensitive to his needs. They managed to give him an exam and his shot without having to medicate him (which has been the standard for him). We were very happy with the service here.

We have used 4 Paws for Boarding & Doggie Daycare for over 2 years now. After having searched many boarding facilities we felt very comfortable with the facility and staff- our dogs have various health issues and they come home healthy and happy whether it is an over night or a week ! I have 2 dogs who were not welcome in another doggie daycare the staff at 4 Paws took the time to work with each of them to make sure they were successful and had a positive experience ...I have referred many people who have also been happy with the care they received !

Excellent experience for Rocky and me. The staff (Anna and Dr Cook especially) were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable, not rushed and could ask questions. The room was large and clean. Highly recommend.

I was lucky to have found 4 Paws shortly after moving to NY. Dr. Wiggins took the time to thoroughly review his chart and manage his senior care. When that dreaded day came for my love to ride the Big Easy to the Rainbow Bridge, we had the best people I could want in our room. I knew he wasn’t their only dog, and they knew he was MY only dog. We Love 4 Paws, our little one can be a handful and they know just how to take care of her. Levade does a great job with her grooming - and when we board her we have no worries! We loved Dr. Wiggins care before she opened 4 Paws. Always thoughtful, kind, and loving. Our big girl loves it there too!

Edited to Add: After my initial experience (posted below), we got a call from the office (Janelle) the following day, stating that due to the miscommunication they would waive the extra fee to have my cat in isolation to have the haircut, since she did not have the blood test. My husband returned her call the very same day and was told- wait, you need to bring in a fecal sample for us to test first. And we can get you in for that grooming appointment on August 8th. (more than a month away!) I will call the owner to talk through this experience with them. However, in the meantime- I had to bring my cat elsewhere so she could get the care she needs.Original post: Very frustrated with my experience here today. Im giving it 3 stars only because the vet and the technician were very kind. But I called inquiring about grooming and rabies shots for my cat. I was told I needed to do a wellness visit first. That was okay with me. The wellness visit took over an hour and I was given a wellness plan of shots and things they recommended for my healthy cat. I chose the cheaper plan which was still $250. At check out, I try to schedule the grooming appointment and am informed that because I declined a blood test, that was presented to me as being optional, for an additional $50, I couldnt do the grooming appointment unless I wanted to pay extra $$ to have her more isolated for it. A person who appeared to be the main receptionist there, named Janelle, condescendingly said sorry no one explained that to you without the slightest bit of sincerity. By then, my kids were melting down from waiting, my cat had pissed on herself, I left $250 poorer, and STILL didnt even get the service I was calling for originally. My poor long haired cat has things matted into her fur, and now I have to call elsewhere for services. Im willing to pay fees when I get good service and feel that there is transparency about costs. I didnt feel as though I got either from the person up front.

Dr Wiggins and her entire staff are wonderful. They are so caring and compasionate. My sparky had a neck injury and was crying terrible. I think it effected the staff almost as much as it did me to hear him cry in pain. They were all so gentle and caring towards him and me. It is so greatly appreciated. Every visit is a pleasure. Thank you for all you do for our fur babies!!

I have been using 4 Paws for years, i cant say enough positive about the care our furr babies have received. The whole staff is wonderful and amazing and goes above and beyond for everyone, the most loving and caring experience we ever had was when we lost one of our babies and the Veterinary assistant Danielle went above and beyond with us, she even stayed with our baby till the end. Everytime we go there we look for her, she is amazing with all our babies. We highly recommend 4 Paws.

I am blown away by the courtesy and empathy from from the team at 4 paws. I recently lost my home to a fire in Troy and my dog Bella was injured. She has ulcers in both her eyes. Today I took both my dogs to the vet for a follow up and found out not only her eyes aren’t fully healed, my other dog Bolo has a double ear infection. We couldn’t afford the full bill for all the treatments do to losing everything in the fire so adjusted the care package and more than fair price. Also courtesy ear cleaning and oral cleaning. I greatly appreciate this it’s already a hard point in my life and acts of kindness like this really makes a difference. Thank you 4 Paws for taking care of my fur babies.

Love this place. Dr, Wiggins is the best vet we have ever known for our animals. All of her staff are loving and caring to our kids and those of others weve seen them with. We do not live in Rensselaer County anymore, and havent for quite some time, yet we continue and will continue to use 4 Paws Veterinary Care.

Ive been going to 4 Paws for many years now. They have always gone above and beyond for us. But, today showed the true compassion and care they have. I called Janelle and told her my daughters cat (who wasnt a patient, she didnt have a vet) had stopped breathing, she didnt hesitate and said to bring him in immediately. My daughter was there within 5 minutes, they took him immediately and did everything possible to save him. He was gone, they then did everything possible to console, help and guide my daughter with everything that needed to be done. I am beyond grateful and appreciative to everything they did. The doctors and staff are incredible, caring, kind and compassionate.

4 Paws deserves more than 5 stars. I had to carry Jake in to the office the first time I found the office. I had been to two other vets and both needed appointments. I was headed back to work when I saw the clinic and stopped in to inquire if they might see him later that day. After describing his condition I was told to go get him and bring him right away. Dr White and the fantastic staff got Jake diagnosed and started treatment right away. I recently had to bring him back due to symptoms that resembled his prior illness(anaplasmosis?) After admitting to the vet tech that I did not complete the entire course of antibiotics she promptly reported (Threw me under the bus!) to Dr White who then came to examine Jake and beat me with a horse whip! Honestly these people are the most caring, professional, thorough technicians and Dr White, Jake and I want you to know we think you are the best veterinarian in the world. We love Dr. Wiggins and Dr. White! The office takes care of all of our needs and is always courteous and helpful. They take really good care of our lady and call specialists for us when we need a quick appointment with one. They are genuinely concerned with our pets health. They are also quick with refill requests when we need them.

We have been going to 4 paws for almost two years, we had just moved here from out of state, the first time that we went my poor kitty fell out of a tree, we were able to come right in and they were very nice, I thought at the time that the price of things was a little higher then else.About 6 months later we end up getting a dog, once all was good for our family we decided that our new dog need a check up and some shots, we made the appointment. We found out that my dog was behind on immunization shots that are some what important. Let me point out here that I have 4 children and the youngest being one, so when it comes to diseases that can pass from animal to kids I make sure that we are caught up. Well after spending $800.00 and bringing my dog in every other week for about three months, my dog ends up a with allergy induced ear infection. So great, I called and let them know that I dont have the $60 for the doctors visit, but I can pay for meds and payday is in two day and I can pay it off then. They made my dog and I wait the two days and then they turned around and charged me $130.00 for the visit. The poor nurse that was helping us had to put her neck on the line because I was not able to pay for the doctors visit, the test they had to do and the meds. They care about money more then the animals. I am never going back there again.

They are so careing and gentle with our cat, and got him back to normal in no time at all.

Recently relocated to the area (0.3 miles up the road!) and needed to switch my cats vet. Did a meet and greet appointment. Very prompt service, knowledgeable and patient with a temperamental calico. Very pleased with our first visit.

Every time I have visited Four Paws I have had a great experience. The people are very nice and personable and they are not forceful with the animals like most vets. I drive 40 minutes just to go to this vet. Its worth the drive!

Great vet, best we have been to but you will spend more here for the best care in the area. So clean for a vet. When we first came in we had a recent loss and the doctor was super empathetic and seems very passionate about her job.

My senior cat had developed a seizure disorder and was being treated by her then regular vet. She had 4 seizures in 24 hours and her old vet couldnt see her for a month........4 paws got her in that day as a new patient and were caring and attentive to her needs. They just got a household of new patients

Our dog is resistant to veterinary care. 4 PAWS staff have gone above and beyond in solving this issue for us. We have been going there since they opened and will continue to do so. Everyone is always pleasant and polite.I highly recommend them.

We brought Elliot, our Field Spaniel, to 4Paws, becuase we spent SOOO much money at Bloomingrove Vet, we were desperate !! Hes SOO much better now, hes a happy dog and it took them only two weeks to see an improvement in Elliot....Dr. Wiggins was great with him! Thank you!!

This vet is always very friendly and professional. The prices are basically average but the quality and service they provide make every penny worth it. Recently I just boarded my cat and it was an amazing experience.

The Ladies are all absolutely amazing. I bring my Chihuahua there and they always take him in the back as he is a little nippy if I am there and he sees me while they are working on him. They treat him like he is theirs. They even nicknamed him Big Papa.

I was not a client but on the 3d of July they saw my dog at an appointment and it started right on time. They were empathetic and efficient and my dog is feeling better already. These people were just the best. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Dr. Wiggins is very competent and compassionate. She was very responsive to us when our dog Bo was near death. Laid out the options and helped us make an informed decision.

I have been taking our cats to 4 Paws for more years than I can remember (and weve had cats for 40 years) and have never had a problem, so its no surprise that they are excellent at managing visits during the pandemic. I do miss talking to everyone though!

Dr. Wiggins, Dr. White and the staff have provided great care of my cats and dogs. I rely on them for advice when I have concerns about my pets. And I lean on them for support when its time to say goodbye to one of my babies.

Absolutely fantastic first visit. Dr. Cook answered all of our questions and made sure my boy had everything he needs. I was able to have a small tour of their facility. It was very clean and I appreciated the extra time they spent with us. I’m looking forward to bringing my other dog in because they had such excellent care.Update: I just took my second dog into them and the visit was phenomenal. She struggles with new people but Dr. Cook and her techs did a wonderful job making sure Meg was comfortable during her exam. They are very knowledgeable and have absolutely wonderful care. This is one of the best facilities I’ve ever been to. All of the staff members have been extremely helpful and accommodating.

Brought my dog in for a wound on his tail and ended up with a much more expensive bill than expected. I asked why it was so much and one of the reasons they mentioned was the medication. They filled the prescriptions in house and said we might save a few dollars by going through a pharmacy. Ended up saving around $175.Ive also heard from several people I know that they are expensive and schedule unnecessary visits.

Its a good vet, doctors are very friendly and knowledgeable, and the staff is good. The one place they are let down is scheduling. They never EVER run on time. Routine wait times for an appointment is 20+ minutes. Very frustrating.

Poor service from rude employees. Highly overpriced as the try to recoup cost on their building. The horror stories you will hear out of this place are unreal. As well as the responses they give to any claim against them. This place should be investigated and such down for its unethical, poor morals and practicesside note to this businesses response : you wouldn’t have everyone’s name from a household

My 17-year-old cat has received excellent care here. Pet prescription refills are processed quickly also.

Doctor is more concerned with selling than practical healing. Also, my dogs visit was bumped because the police chiefs dog was hit by a car and he was waaayyy more important than my sick old mutt.

We followed Dr. Wiggins from her former place of practice to this one, which is actually down the road from us!! I absolutely love her and respect her...we share a southern kinship as well.

Today was our very first trip to this facility. Im impressed and extremely pleased. The doctor not only called me to go over the visit but she came out to introduce herself. A picture was sent to me via text of my fur baby while in there :) I forgot what this lovely womans name is but she was so nice and helpful. I am so happy this place was recommended to me. I do not get the impression that its a money can at all which is really important to me. Visiting the area and needed an urgent vet visit, this place was great with a same day appt, very grateful. I have an older cat. I recommend if there are no other options, they have a decent sized vet office which is really nice - however, I found they were rough with handling my cat, and she was very upset, scared and wanted to go quickly. I also found that the desk staff were rude at times and the vet was quick to write us off, lacking patience when asking questions. The office smelled and was not clean. There are definitely worse vets but I won’t return, I found a better vet who handled my cat with a lot of care, she walked out totally ok and happy. See what works best for your needs and ask a lot of questions. I gave 3 stars for the same day appt.

I’m so impressed by this site! I brought my cat in today as a new patient who also was having some eye and ear issues. They were kind and thorough, and also just so competent. They were communicative about the plan of care and why they were doing what they were doing. They made sure my pet was comfortable. Of course this was the first visit, but I’ll be bringing my other pets here in the future.

Horrible customer service. Called to get some prices for my pet and was belittled by the receptionist. I have never been there before so had questions. She was nasty on the phone and was not helpful at all! Instead of putting me on hold because she was assisting someone else, she insisted on texting me and got loud when I said I would prefer a phone call. I called for a reason and had several questions! Horrible first impression. Do NOT recommend! I run a company for a living and treating customers that way is completely out of line.This is in response to your response.Jamie, the way you perceived our conversation is completely bias on your part. Your job as a manager is to listen to your customers. We can go back and forth all day, but your response is inaccurate, and you should be more professional when talking with customers. Hopefully, you will learn from this experience.

If I could give 4 Paws 10 stars I would, this place is absolutely amazing and after today, they have my business for life. I have two indoor cats, so I really only bring them to the vets when theyre acting different or every few years just to check in. Ive never really had a consistent vet, since no one has ever made any type of impression on me. I recently had to bring my cats to the vet since I noticed a change in their eating habits. While the news I received about one of my cats is devastating, Dr. Wiggins and her staff have been incredible. They spent TWO HOURS with my cats during our first appointment. They explained everything and answered all my questions. They even diagnosed something that one of my cats had been suffering from that another vet misdiagnosed as allergies. One round of medicine and his skin completely cleared up! My other cat unfortunately has lymphoma, but the staff was there to comfort me, checked in with me the next TWO DAYS about my cat, spent over 30 minutes on the phone explaining her blood work and told me that shed be in touch often so that Id have someone to help me make the decision about when the medicine is no longer easing my cats suffering. I literally cant say enough about how amazing this place is! The staff is amazing, you can just tell how much they love animals. And the building is beautiful (not that that matters, but worth noting) and very clean inside.

I cannot say enough!! Over the years, I have brought my dogs to many different vets...and 4 Paws is the best by far! The doctors and employees show so much love and affection towards our dog. Our dog attends doggy daycare once a week to let out a bit of energy. His first day Janelle sent us pictures and videos showing how much fun our little baby was having! After sick visits, the doctors actually follows up to see how their patient is doing. They just make you feel very special when you walk through the door ....your not just another client! Thank you to the doctors and all employees especially Janelle for taking such great care of our Sam:)

Took my dog to another vet because of allergies. After 1 year very little results but lots of money. Within 2 weeks and 1 visit to 4 Paws my dog is back to his happy self and so am I. Outstanding Vetenary services. So glad my friends suggested them. They actually care about my dog and couldnt be happier with them.

Brought my two dogs here recently. Everyone was so positive and friendly. Although I wasnt able to go inside due to covid restrictions I appreciate all the efforts everyone makes to keep us all safe!

Wonderful doctor, wonderful staff.

Competent doctors, mostly polite. But absolutely incompetent and horrible customer service and outrageous prices. Every time weve had to order any medication theyve given us a time for pick up and never (and I mean not even once) actually had it ready. This has always resulted in excessive waiting to actually get the medication or being told that theyre out of stock or being told to come back another day. Weve also tried their mail order pharmacy service which requires vet approval for each order. This approval has been delayed or forgotten several times resulting in gaps of up to two weeks before our pets received medication. This has put our dog at risk of seizure and cat at risk of other problems. We have four total pets and have spent a small fortune with this office over the last two years. Despite the likelihood that it will now cost more to start with a different office, well be doing exactly that as soon as our latest medication order is finally filled (very late as usual.)

The front desk staff seemed nice but the vet was rude and demeaning. It seemed like she didnt like her job and was being bothered to do her job. I wont be coming back. I will gladly take my dog elsewhere to have him treated by someone who cares. Who knows, maybe she was having an off day, but separate work from personal life and treat me and my dog with the respect we deserve.

We have entrusted Four Paws with the care of all our pets since day one. Never a complaint. Today, we experienced the nightmare which no pet owner wants to ever deal with. Our Izzy was struck by a car, in her own driveway, completely accidental.... A tearful call to Four Paws resulted in an immediate invitation to have her come right in and the staff was waiting at the door. She was seen immediately, the Doctor did a preliminary consult within minutes and the staff never left us feeling alone through the experience. The attention Izzy received and the professional, compassionate demeanor of Dr. Wiggins was what got us through a horrible experience (with a favorable end result). I have no doubt that this is what every client should expect and will receive from our Vet... 4 Paws. Doesnt matter who you are; everyone gets the best care possible, every time.

I went to this practice twice. The first visit went well. The second visit not so good. The veterinarian assistant was rude and condescending. I already felt the prices were higher than the competition. No way will I pay top dollar to be treated poorly by staff.

If you need a vet look no farther. I had to put my poor dog down too young and they were immeasurably kind. I even got a card after that they had a tree planted in memorium.
