I’m not sure why there have been some reviews with less than 5 stars lately, but I’ve had nothing but amazing experiences with Northshore. I have three kitties that I’ve brought here, and every visit has been great. This may be partly because of the lack of professionalism at my previous vet, but I really appreciate how we can stay in the examination room with our cats during their appointments. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice, understanding, and professional. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone! Their hours are also super convenient; they’re open every day and later than most other clinics.
Ive been coming to North Shore Animal Hospital for my cats for a few years and have always found the staff and doctors to be courteous, respectful, and caring. They are good at following up when necessary and sending important reminders for when my cats need updated vaccines or are due for a check-up. They are also good at keeping appointment times which I greatly appreciate. Definitely recommend. Veterinary medicine is too expensive everywhere but at least with this hospital the value of respect and care meets the cost of the services.
Will not come back to this vet again. My cat has skin issue, so we brought him in to check. The vet was not able to diagnosis what’s wrong so recommended us to do a comprehensive blood test. I paid $436 during that visit. The receptionist told me the results will be available in 3 days, and I will receive a call from the doctor. After a week, I still haven’t not heard back the results so I called and checked. The front desk promised that someone will get back to me, but no one had ever called me back. I had to call again the next day, and got the same response - someone will call me. Waited until almost the end of the day, still no one called. Called again, and the receptionist told me everything is normal. I asked for them to email me the results, promised to do it, but didn’t receive it. I emailed and asked, finally received the report. On the report, there were a couple of items that shows red (out of the normal range), I emailed them again to confirm if everything is still normal, no one responded to my email until today.
This is my very COOL Dude Fred he is a long time patient and guest at North Shore Animal Hospital. He had been going there since he was 7 weeks old I will never take him anywhere but NSAH besides the convince of having everything there he could need he also gets all the love and attention he gets at home with his family
This is a great vets office. From the friendly front desk to the patient and knowledgeable veteranarians, it makes for a wonderful experience for you and your pets! The fact that theyre open 7days/week and late hours during the week for those working 9-5 is also a huge help.
The kindest most compassionate people work here! From Dr. Rosen to the staff at the counter to the vet tech/assistant all were so sensitive to me & my husband regarding having to put our dear Rosie to sleep. The most agonizing decision ever yet they worked with us explaining everything & no judgment! They took such care with our rosie girl we will never forget your loving kindness & professionalism!Thank you From our hearts!
I called to schedule an appointment for my new pet, I was placed on hold for 10 minutes, which I patiently waited through. However, when Laura returned to the call, she greeted me in an unacceptably loud and rude manner, repeatedly shouting, How can I help you? I was so taken aback by her tone that I struggled to respond.I attempted to explain how her behavior came across as rude and unprofessional, hoping for a reasonable conversation. Unfortunately, instead of offering an apology or even a simple explanation, she continued in the same unprofessional manner. She then called back to inform me, in the same loud and disrespectful tone, that I was “never allowed back,” which was completely unnecessary and only further demonstrated her lack of professionalism.I have brought one of my dogs in the past, and was hoping to bring my other dog in for allergy testing. As someone who loves her pets dearly, I expect and value respectful communication, especially when entrusting their care to someone. If Laura had simply apologized or acknowledged her behavior, this situation could have been entirely different. When people write negative reviews, its usually out of frustration, but when its for a pet clinic, its from a place of genuine concern! I hope they can understand how upsetting this is for a pet owner.
If you really care about your pet, bring them here. They really care about the animals. The doctor was really only motivated by the animals well-being, not a cash-grab like the previous vet Id been to. I had screwed up with the vaccinations for my cats (I thought they only needed 2 instead of 3) and though I felt a lot of shame and guilt (our cat was gravely ill, though unrelated to not having all vax) I felt the most hope for our poor kitty because of the doctors obvious concern for the animal above manipulating me or sugar-coating my failure. He also shared an anecdote about adopting an elderly, disabled cat-- and you just know this guys a mensch. The staff as well was incredibly efficient, attentive and smart-- there were even some ill-prepared pet owners there who were primed to freak out about something that was their own fault-- and I was very impressed with how the staff diffused, problem-solved, resolved and made everybody (including, most importantly, the innocent by-standers in the waiting room like me) feel peace
My first time visit was extremely pleasant. The staff was very attentive, the doctors and techs were experienced, caring and gentle with my feathery companion of 29 years. Lets face it...if they have the capability of treating my family like theirs....Im a permanent client. I can see my baby is in good hands. I highly recommend the facility and rate them a 10!
Dr.Gooden is truly compassionate and wanted the best for my baby Chicho. The receptionist Laura, wonderful and will make you laugh! She treated my dog like it’s her very own. If you want a safe place for your baby, this is the place to go to!
My beloved house Cat who never step out of the house is dying - 12/25/24…..called to bring her in months ago to get her diagnosed and you Godless people/ creature would only see her if she was vaccinated…… It is all about the almighty Dollar 💵 for you all. All my family needed was support, and we did not receive any. My Cat is leaving us on this Christmas Day. May the lord forgive you for your Badness and the love for Money.💰
Wonderful caring staff with Services for taking care of your pet, Boarding And medical services. The staff was so loving and welcoming to my dog
I always go there to get my cat vaccinated and the doctor is very loving and attentive with my cat but every time I call, the customer service is awful, they have a bad attitude. I dont like to leave bad reviews but at this point its the second time that when making appointments or consulting something the service is terrible
The team at NSAH can’t be beat. They are all so pleasant. I adore Dr. Gooden. And I am so grateful to Brianna, Laura and Brian. They treat my fur baby like he is theirs.
Exceptional care and compassion at North Shore Animal Hospital and the entire Veterinary Clinic team went above and beyond for my beloved cat pet. They were thorough in their examination, explained everything clearly, and made sure my furry friend felt comfortable and safe. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dedicated and reliable vet!
Great staff-very friendly. My Lola got a manicure and it was excellent. I was in and out in 20 minutes.I took my Maya Papaya-1st visit-10/21/24-Dr. Gooden-AMAZING!!! Made us feel so comfortable. He answered my million questions. Maya-Papaya is feeling great 1 day later.
I have been taking Skittles for several years.to see Dr. Rosen, however 6 months ago only Dr. Yu was available and had to in with my cat due to unknown bleeding he was experiencing.Dr. Yu, examined him and decided that she would rule out kidney stones, etc! She completed missed the ulcer he had on his left hock. Fortunately, we found the source of the bleeding at home. We took my baby back to address this issue at which time Dr. Rosen said to apply coconut oil and if doesnt get better, he would need surgery. Okay, so we did what he suggested and the wound did not heal. I decided that I did not want to see him anymore, therefore requested an appointment with Dr. Gooden, who decided that he needed an antibiotic injection as well as an ointment. He also suggested we put a cone on him to prevent licking, which we did. Now, thousands of dollars later, we go back a couple of weeks after for another injection at which point, we were told that if it doesnt heal, Skittles would need surgery. On August 31st, I called the office because Skittles had labored breathing and was stroking after using the litterbox. I asked for them to please help me. The office said to go to an emergency hospital, because they could not accommodate me due to there only being one doctor available! I could not believe that an emergency visit for a patient who has been going there for years could not be accommodated. In hindsight, I am grateful that he wasnt seen there, because its due to their misdiagnosis of the ulcer my Skittles had that I know have to make the hard decision to put my baby to sleep. The ulcer was an underlying issue, which theyve never caught! He has cancer and zero platelets left. How can this be missed???? I just dont comprehend, how three doctors were not able to catch this.I am at a loss of words and nothing they can do or say can save my Skittles. So, please think twice before choosing this place. I am truly disgusted! I took him to a vet that I used to take my other baby to and he told me that if this was treated with steroids 3 months ago, Skittles would still have a chance.
I have been bringing my dog here for almost 2 years and highly recommend this office! The staff is very attentive and friendly and Dr. Gooden is great! Always a pleasure coming here
Dr. Jun Yu is just excellent. She gave Ashlyn our Golden Retriever excellent care. Please be proud of Dr. Yu. Norman Cohn
Love this vet. Everyone is friendly. They know your pets. They follow-up and easy to get an appointment.
My puppy enjoys her days coming to Northshore Animal Hospital. Yesterday she was there for grooming and received her beauty day by groomer Shay. Thankyou for a great day!
Nina has been attending this vet hospital since she was a puppy. I love the attention, love, and medical care she receives each time she sees her doctor. Highly recommend it!! I love my baby and always want the best for her.
They’re literally the best. I’ve been going here for about 17 years. I even moved and tried another vet closer to home but no one compares. I take the drive to them now even though it’s an hour drive one way. Laura is the best! Mindy was the best for many years too and I hope you are having a lovely retirement Mindy! Laura thank you for always being so kind to us and so knowledgeable and caring of all the animals. We love you! And Dr Gooden is awesome! And Dr Rosen! Love you all - mom of Hailey and Jean Clawd
I have been using them for both my dogs for the last 13 years. And it has proven to be nothing but rewarding. I highly recommend them to any pet owner, as Dr. Rosen, no relation, ia both very skilled and very proactive in caring and treating your pet. The front desk is as much courteous as they are kind. In total, its just a great place to take care of your pets.
These people almost killed my cat. My cat was in pain and was breathing very heavily. We thought there was something wrong with her lungs and wanted to get a professional opinion. We were promised quick x-ray results. They said they would have results on the x-ray right after they took them but then said they needed a second opinion and to wait for the results the next day.The next day, they answered very rudely when we kept begging for some answers and kept telling us to wait.Thank God that we rushed her to the Emergency Animal Hospital where they immediately prepped her for surgery and took out blood in one of her lungs. (Had to move her to a different location for her other lung because of a special type of equipment they didn’t have) They told us that if we waited any longer, she wouldn’t have made it.They gave us a refund but I really don’t care about the money. They almost killed my cat and if you care about your pet, I would stay away.
, I only been there twice I like Dr. Xenn the Chinese lady she is very professional very sweet and nice i’ve been there a lot of times now and saved my cat his name of my cat scooter he has hyperthyroid and yesterday he had a surgery he had a tumor on his head she did a great job this hospital is the best don’t go anywhere else they really take care of the animals this is the place to go it is a great Hospital yeah great this is the only hospital that care but I was wrong a they end up killing my cat giving the wrong medicines and he died he catch from there lymphoma from another cat they keep kept giving him opium pain killer heroine meds
I can only speak for the Cat Adoption Center on the second floor. The staff were incredibly helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about cats! They go the extra mile to make sure the cats are set up in a home that will properly take care of them. Highly recommended, but only if you are committed, and serious about adopting a cat!
My dog Bella adores this place, the minute we arrive, she pulls to run inside to great them. I have never seen a pet eager to go to their vet
Really great experience!! Saw Dr Rosen today for my baby Lucy. Extremely thorough and gentle with Lucy. Also much thanks to Brian and Laura who helped me get a same day emergency appointment. They were able to accommodate me even though they were busy. Very appreciative!
I TAKE BACK MY GOOD REVIEW BACK. This place is absolutely irresponsible and inconsiderate. My dog was diagnosed with Cushins Disease and it took them over a week (with me calling them for an update) to schedule me an Ultrasound appointment. Ive told them numerous times that my dog is not doing well at all and they never even gave me any medicine to help her. They were not getting back to me with an appointment so I took her somewhere else and they immediately gave her vitamins that helped her feel a little better- something they did not even consider doing. I called- again, and I spoke to Brian who said the appointment request was not even put in the system (something I should of been told the FIRST time I called) And to top it off I had to call them myself AGAIN to see when her medicine was ready for pick and the order was not even placed. All I got was a snarky I will handle it by Laura. Their staff are nice in person but they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE FOR ANY REAL MEDICAL ISSUES. They are only good for vaccinations and simple things.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. They fit us in pretty quickly and took good care of my dog. Dr. Yu is so nice and sweet. She explained everything that was going on with Rocky. I do not think this location handles emergencies. So for routine check ups and things of that nature, this place is perfect.
Dr. Jun Yu and staff were great to us and our 1 year old cat Loki going in for his 1st Vet-visit! Your pals are definitely in good hands here!
When you come to this Animal Hospital…….. you will see and feel that your animal is genuinely cared for. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful. And Dr. Rosen ….. there are no words that can do him justice. He tended to both my cats ( a dental extraction and a mass removal ). So glad to have found him and this place to care for my animals!!!!
Took my cat here to be cremated, one staff was emphatic but the other that sat there answering phones could not care less. I stood there for a while she did not even bother to say Good Morning, How can I help you today? or even just a simple Hi! to acknowledge my presence.
I took my cat Cagney to Dr. Gooden for the first time yesterday. He and his staff are very friendly and make you feel comfortable from check in to check out and the follow up call the next day.Dr. Gooden was very attentive and helpful with concerns to Cagney. I unfortunately had my first appointment there a month ago when I had to put Cagney’s sister to rest. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Cagney has been grieving hard over the loss of Lacey. So going there with Cagney was not easy to say the least. I highly recommend Dr. Gooden and North Shore to all who have fur babies. You will be happy with the care they provide for you and your fur babies. Thanks again to Dr. Gooden and staff. 🙏🏼🥰
Most of the staff is very caring and does what they can with the little staff they have. Theres been a few incidents of improper scheduling and long waits for med authorization or phone calls, but I overlook it b/c I know what its like to work at these practices. The reason I have a low rating and I will personally never return is because Dr. Yu declined to authorize a previously approved prescription for an injectable medication that helps my 14 year old dog, who has degenerative myelopathy, to move around better due to Dr. Yu not being comfortable with authorizing injectable medication to any clients. Mind you, I am former veterinary technician of 10 years, have proof of a valid prescription with dosing instructions provided to me before I moved to Bayside, and have been comfortably treating my senior dog with this medication since April of this year. Her discomfort makes me feel this is a money hungry tactic to get me to come in and have her administer the meds when I can barely get my dog to walk around the block. It also makes me question how she treats patients who need insulin or subQ fluids daily.I was hoping this would be my vet, but Ill have to look for other vet care that has doctors with more experience and better care for senior patients.
Dr. Rosen was so helpful and thorough - would highly recommend!
Friendly staff. Had to have follow up care for my elderly dog. Staff and vet were very nice. Even called us back to let us know about lab results.
We are very pleased with the services provided by North Shore Animal Hospital. All staff members are extremely knowledgeable, caring and nurturing. I highly recommend North Shore to care for your pets.
I have had many of my dogs, cats, ferrets and birds at North Shore Animal Hospital since 1982. Everyone one of them was treated by Dr. Ron Rosen. Every one of them was never afraid to walk through their doors. Dr. Rosen is not just an incredible Dr. He has a way with animals only very few have. And the reason? He cares for each of them as his own. He is open minded and listens. He doesnt give orders, but gives instructions and suggestions. The staff is also second the none. Youre made to feel at home and know youre in the best place and youre pet will know it too.
The staff is great when you have your appointment. In my experience getting the appointment is my pain point. I’ve attempted via the app - unresponsive; calling multiple times - being placed on hold or simply being asked for your number for call back without knowing the problem/issue. I definitely have to call more than 3x to schedule anything.
I absolutely love this veterinarian. My dog Brownie is 3 years old and I have taken him to 3 different veterinarian offices as I was not able to find 1 that I was satisfied with. Upon taking my dog to this vet, I was so pleased with their service that I am certain I will not change. I have called and bothered them so many times with different concerns and each and every call, the staff has been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I spoke with Katie and Gabby multiple times and they have been so sweet, polite, friendly, empathetic and just awesome. I am so glad that I found a vet that I am comfortable with. I highly recommend this vet to every pet owner.
I took my cat to this hospital to have its eyes checked. We’ve been there three times in the past half month, and it’s still not improving! The doctor lacks professionalism! After the first visit, the doctor should have acknowledged that they couldn’t treat my cat’s eye problem and issued a referral to a specialist. The delay in treatment caused permanent scarring on my cat’s eye! I urge all pet owners who read this to be cautious when choosing a vet!
Found an injured squirrel in the middle of the street and they took him without hesitation. Thank you!!
Do not be fooled by the moniker of hospital attached to this business name. They are strictly a wellness veterinary clinic . If your pet gets sick or needs immediate help they simply state yeah we dont do that. Twice in my dogs eight years of life when she needed immediate help I got the same response even though they were her primary care physicians. This last episode came right after a wellness checkup in which I was charged $450.00 for diagnostic testing that I never got results of. Take your pet to a vet you can rely upon when you need them most not just for yearly exams.
Today was my first time at North Shore. I had a great experience. We were in and out within 30 minutes. We only went for a wellness check up and to get some vaccines. The staff was very friendly and answered any questions I had. I will definitely be bringing my dog back here for future checkups.
Always have positive experiences here. I have boarded my chihuahua a few times, and brought my cat in today for illness. The doctor and staff are very friendly and informative about my pets care. Thank you!
This has been my vet for years and they are phenomenal. They take last minute/emergency appointments and genuinely care about the animals. I recently had to put my cat down and the support and sympathy we received from the staff and vet was truly meaningful. Parking could be a little difficult due to a small lot, but dont let that deter you!
Awesome place chill staff no complaints….. here’s my dog Archie he’s happy with the place too 😀😀
My youngest fur baby Madeline was suffering from blindness and she eventually became very sick and could no longer walk. It was the worst decision I ever had to make, to put her to sleep. The Doctor took such good care of her and agreed that she was suffering and that it was the only thing to do for her. His kindness and compassion were truly heartfelt, he and his staff prepared a room for her which was as serene as was possible. My family and I stayed with her while the drugs were administered and took effect. It was a peaceful and loving ending to our wonderful little girl. I cannot thank the Dr. and all the staff for their kindness, and understanding. Some days later a lovely condolence card arrived from the hospital. They continue to take great care of her 3 siblings and I can honestly say I recommend this practice to anyone needing a vet.
I went to adopt a kitten this morning a holiday weekend all my references were checked confirmed theyve denied my application because my management office is closed for Labor Day and asking for my lease or documents. Unbelievable. and one of the management team called them to confirm that my building is pet friendly. I feel like this is some type of racism . I didnt see them asking any other person that wasnt Spanish for a copy of their lease. And I have adopted twice from this location. so now they denied a kitten a good home.
From the amazing people staffing the phones, reception & billing to the fabulous Dr. Rosen..everyone at NS Animal Hospital truly cares about the pets (and pet parents) in their practice. My pup has been a patient at NS for nearly 11 years and I trust them to do what’s best…after all, that’s what they’ve done for the past 11 years!.
Ive been using this vet for over ten years and they have always been professional, caring and friendly. Ive never felt that they werent doing their best to care for my furry family members or offering the best advice. The entire staff - from vets to front desk - are all top notch. The glass-enclosed room with adoptable kitty cats is a fringe benefit of visiting.
I took my big boy to the vet. He hurt his foot. The staff was very professional and nice. It was very clean. The doctor was nice and her assistants. They made me feel very comfortable. Or did not complain or make any comments that my lab husky mix was howling and crying nonstop for like an hour. They even asked if that was my baby crying like that.Highly recommended.I have nothing bad to say.
I used to go to another vet and my little Yorkie had a swelling around his muzzle. And the doctor couldnt find out the problem. Not only that he was trying to scare me into thinking it was worst then it was. Then I went to Dr Rosen and he immediately knew what was wrong. And fixed the problem. There was a rubber band stuck on his muzzle.I will probably never turn back.
Love this vets office. I am a first time pet owner and the staff here are wonderful. So helpful, polite and friendly. Dr. Rosen and Dr. Gooden are so knowledgeable and always treat my Tucker with care. Jen is always willing to give some good advice on how to care for my dog and I truly appreciate everyone in the office. Doggie Day Camp is amazing too! Tucker has made so many doggie friends and it truly has helped him in social situations. I cant say thank you enough for all the care and love they have given to us over the past year!
It was my first time there last night as my 4 month old kitten had post surgical illness from getting neutered in aspca. I called this place and the person who picked up Michelle was super helpful and even helped me book an appointment the day of which was 30min after the phone call. I came in and she was very nice at the reception desk and I had Dr.Jamie and she was super friendly and great! I believe the pricing is super reasonable that I want to come here more often for my 2 cats. My first experience here was absolutely pleasant 😊😊
Dr Yoo was very nice. The staff was very profressional.
I’ve always taken my cats there and I’ve never had a complaint except that you need to book your appointment a few weeks ahead. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because it’s busy and if a store is busy that means enough people go there because they are good. Pet care isn’t cheap but I have never felt like I was overcharged. They are in a good location too and they have a parking lot which is really helpful in that area. Since Covid they won’t let you come in which is not my preference but I feel they handle my babies with care and I trust them.
Corrupt, either dumb or think clientele is dumb, and money hungry. To be fair, it has been a few years since weve come here, left running and never looked back. Arrived with an active, friendly doberman puppy with a bump in between his shoulder blades. The vet (who I believe was the owner, Michael Ferber) proceeded to check the bump and saw that it moved and muttered thats good underneath his breath. I was then shocked with his suggestion to do surgery that same day! I said, for what?!! To check out what it is. With the little medical knowledge I know, I said it doesnt sound like its anything bad and to confirm, cant a biopsy be done before a drastic step like surgery? The reasoning grew stranger and stranger: Oh a needle might give an infection and while he is out with anesthesia we can even microchip him! I could not believe my ears and mumbled something about needing to think about it overnight. Grabbed my puppy, called a few friends for other vet recommendations and made appointment for next day with new vet. As soon as I walked in to new vet, the vet just took a look at the puppy (without even touching bump yet) and asked if he had fallen. I said yes, he was jumping on couch with excitement and flipped over to floor landing on his back. She said yes, its a blood blister, hematoma. It will go away on its own in few days but I can pop it now. With a needle. A so called scary needle that Dr. Ferber deemed it safer to have surgery than to biopsy, X-ray or anything besides full blown surgery immediately. And confused with Dr. Ferbers excited assertion to add microchip during surgery, I asked the new vet what needs to be done to microchip and she proceeded to take out another scary needle and microchipped puppy before we blinked which was the simple act originally thought before the elaborate ruse/ineptitude at north shore animal hospital.
Been going here for 11 years. Staff is great and caring.. they really love my dog. We also board our dog here and love having that option. Occasionally their records dont reflect the latest tests or vaccinations but I keep all the dogs records in a file and just give them the date to look up. Its a little annoying but we love the doctors and care so much its not enough to knock down a star.
I recently switched vets for my one year old cat. I was very satisfied with the wellness check up here. Dr.Gooden was very attentive and caring and he was patient with answering my questions/concerns. The receptionists were also very friendly and helpful. Overall, I had a great experience and the staff at NSAH is great!
They are so lovely here! Took great care of my cat and my dogs when I was younger. My cat recently had surgery here. They took him without much of a wait and he had surgery the same day. The Drs were always willing to take my phone calls and answer my questions while he was healing. Amazing practice.
My wife and I have brought our cats here a few times, and each time has been wonderful. The doctors are very knowledgeable and the staff is very kind and generous. They usually can get an appointment for us on the same day or the next morning. They also have a cat enclosure where you can go play with cats while you wait which is fun, if youre into cats. I absolutely recommend you bring your pets here.
The front desk employee I first spoke to when booking my first appt for my cat was sweet and kind hence the extra star for her but the receptionist I interacted with when I arrived for the appt for my cat was argumentative, loud, and devious. I was 8 mins late for my appt on 12/23 at 4:10pm. I called numerous times around 3pm to let them know I was running a few mins behind but no one had answered. When I arrived, the lady was checking someone else out and said she’ll take care of me after him so I stood aside but she didn’t. She checked in/out 3 more people before me even though she knew I was waiting and standing around and when she finally waved me over it was around 4:35. She said I was too late for my appt and that she called another client to take my place. I did not see her on the phone nor was she honest. When I said I called numerous times to let them know I was running a few mins late, her response was “that wouldn’t have mattered if we picked up regardless because we already had someone waiting to take your place”……. Well goodness. Rude much? She said the policy is to wait “5-10mins” and she “called” someone else because I didn’t show up and when I showed her my proof of Uber drop off time at the office which was 4:18pm on the dot, she continued to argue and say “oh we wait 5 mins at most”. Changing stories eh? I’ve worked front desk at doctors offices and have been working in the service industry for over 10+ years. You call the patient/client who’s appointment is due first before “calling someone else to take their place” (which was a lie). I highly doubt she would’ve argued with me saying I was “too late” if I were an white, black, or looked older than I am(I’m 33 but look quite young). She clearly knew she was in the wrong and made a mistake. An apology would’ve sufficed then I wouldn’t have minded waiting for her mistake but the nonsensical arguing and trying to prove me wrong was a waste of time and energy, especially when I showed her my Uber drop off time at their office to prove I got here only a few mins late and her attempting to double down on her obvious lie/mistake by saying “oh, we actually wait 5 mins sometimes when it’s busy”. But claiming to have “called another client” to take my place when I saw you pick up the phone and put 3-4 people on hold during the time you checked in/out other clients before me knowing I was standing there waiting, just makes you look ridiculous and a flat out liar. I recommend learning to be honest about your mistakes because people are not as dumb as you think and honesty shows more character then blatantly arguing with a client, especially so loudly in front of other clients as well. She became overly nice after, I assume, after she realized her mistake finally or out of fear of this review. My appt was at 4:10pm and I ended up leaving around 6:30pm. For just a check up for my cat. Also - you spelled my email address wrong even though I spelled it out saying d as in dog, a as in apple, etc...I asked for a receipt emailed but did not receive it, then I realized why. You can fix it now since the correct spelling of my Korean name is shown as my name on this review. Thank you.
I brought my 15 y/o cat for a dental exam. The practice did not make me wait nor did it seem anyone else either. My cat was just as calm coming out as she was going in. The estimate for her dental work is within the going range. I have already recommended them to my friend. I hope I feel the same way after shes all done (lol).
They are wonderful. I discovered that my cat Beatrice was terminally ill. When the time came, they explained everything that would happen. They allowed me to have as much time as I needed with her. The staff treated her so gently. Im so grateful for the staff and their compassion. It was like my Beatrice was their pet. Their kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you!
Waited 2 hours for my 3pm appointment. Literally would be out of the NY DMV faster. After finally getting into the exam room, the pet tech did not even know what vaccines my pet needed when he entered the room and had to ask me when the record was clearly on file. This shows a lack of professionalism and preparedness. The vet was pleasant during the 5-10 brief minutes talking to him. Ruined my plans for the day due to the long wait. I get it if its 15-30 minutes even but its unacceptable to be waiting 2 hours for your appointment.
What a great place, my pup Rocky and I are very happy with North Shore Animal Hospital. The groomer is excellent!!! Very warm office staff just a great environment, caring place to be with your other half. i am so happy...
My dog had an emergency and when my vet refused to see us, we went to North Shore Animal Hospital. My dog, Killer, yes the name is funny for a Yorkie, had pushed a tumor out and a surgery on a senior dog there was no guarantee. Dr. Rosen came out and explained that we needed to go to emergency but because Killer was 15 1/2 there was no guarantee that an expensive surgery would give him a quality life. We decided to put him to sleep. They let us take our time walking him and spending out last hours with him until we were ready. In the room, we were able to spend time with him and be with him. Even though only one of us could be in the room, Dr. Rosen shared he also had to out his own dog down 6 months prior. He was so kind. So supportive. Someone who never met me was able to comfort me in one of my most difficult moments. I highly recommend North Shore Animal Hospital.
I recently went through a very stressful time with my dog. He was very sick and had to be taken to an emergency hospital late at night. I called north shore animal hospital to inform them.Dr Rosen called me back and answered all my questions and concerns . He is very kind and knowledgeable. When following up with him after discharge , he spent a lot of time with us and was very helpful .I am thankful that my dog is improving!
Great service , staff is kind and caring it was a great experience my baby was treated like a king thank you so much North shore Animal Hospital .
Amazing! Staff are the absolute best, I wanted to hang out after they were done lol. Took a short notice appointment for me to catch a flight, professional, friendly, you could tell they have a whole lot of love for what they do. My dog Bacon blue got a few needed shots, it was quick, painless, easy and done! Would highly recommend, wish I loved closer to make this my regular place!
I feel compelled to write this review because they deserve it. This was my first time using their services. I came in with my 13 year old Pomeranian, which we ended up having to put to sleep. The Vet that saw us was extremely nice, helpful and understanding to our situation. I’ve had other vets make faces or give me side eyes for the choices I’ve made with other pets. This Vet never once made me feel judged or like a bad pet owner. He did not once push me on having to do multiple treatments or tests, they let me do what I thought was best for my Angelina and I so very much appreciate it. They gave me all the time I needed with her, they were gentle and caring when I needed it the most, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
I appreciate your reply. You state that your clinics policy regarding emergencies is that a pet owner can bring their pet down immediately!Yet, the staff member that answered the phone did not know this! There seems to be a disconnect between your policy and the staffs knowledge!Being a business owner myself, Im sure your aware that your staff represents your clinic!Again, while I appreciate your response, your words ring hollow. While my beloved cat was dying, your clinic exhibited uncaring and unethical behavior. I can never again, in good conscience, recommend your clinic! Yale Tockerman
Doctors are OK. 1-2 are good and the rest are just OK. The reception staff could use some improvements. They are so busy it looks like they can make huge mistakes. They say that theyll submit my health insurance claims but never do and that is very frustrating. Maybe they need more staff because that harried and frenzied feeling in the waiting room is very unsettling and if they are forgetting to submit insurance claims - thats just frustrating and annoying. Since Covid there is no way I would leave my dog with them. I just honestly feel like that reception staff could make huge costly and dire mistakes. Either hire more staff or take less appointments to provide patrons better service and care.
North Shore over the past four+ years has always been very kind and very thorough, and the price is comparable to other vets in the city.Dr. Gooden has done dentistry for two of my four cats and they both had extensive teeth removal, but all went well, and hes always very patient with my questions. Mindy and the team at the front desk are always tremendously helpful. They also have a lovely area where cats for adoption are held, with lots of room to move instead of just cages, so one can tell they do very much care for animals. I appreciate the doctors and the team, and after having been to various vets in almost every borough over the last twenty years, they are indeed top notch.Prices did go up recently, but that is the way of the industry. If you have a car there is a parking lot, and if not it is within walking distance / an Uber to most places in the area.
Great grooming experience. After the worse part of this winter I took my Collie Cody in. His hair was pretty well matted and in a scraggly condition. Picked him up & he was looking like a show dog. Totally satisfied with their service.
Dr. Gooden is an amazing doctor. Always returns our phone calls on time, answers any question we have during every visit and is truly passionate about what he does! Alexis, Michelle & Alia are extremely sweet, helpful and take great care of our little Robin. I recommend this place to anyone who loves their pets and wants them to be treated with lots of love! Oh, and their doggy day care is awesome as well!
I had my dog neutered on Monday, the check in lady was very kind and sweet. Everyone after her was rude! Especially the tall lady with curly hair and glasses. Her tone of voice and just her smart remarks and the way she talks to people is uncomfortable and really frustrating. My cousin went this morning with her pup and felt the same exact way, with the same lady! Kindness doesn’t cost a thing! ESPECIALLY when your fur baby is sick or going in for a procedure. Won’t be going back to them. The one star is because I couldn’t review without out it, honestly!
The greatest veterinary service I have ever experienced. My family has used this animal hospital and their doctors for 3 generations and they have always been the most competent and caring Veterinarians I have ever met. Not just the family of Veterinarians who founded and new my family but their staff and the current Head of this location, Doctor Rosen, as well. He has always touched my heart with the depth of his skill and the genuine affection he has for the many animals he treats. You will not find a better place for your pets care.
Dr. Kim saved my kitten’s life. She communicated with me during treatment and explained all aspects of his condition, medication and home care. In less then 24 hours Beans is much better. Amber & the young man who picked up then brought Beans to us were great as well. The fees were reasonable too!
I called and they were booked up.i explained that my cat was extremely sick and they said to bring the cat in right away.i really appreciated that.this was the first time I brought this cat to them. The whole staff was very professional and caring. Dr Rosen was very caring, knowledgeable, and a nice person to talk to.thank you all.
Ive taken my pets here for over 20 years. In recent years some of the office staff are not helpful or sympathetic at all. In fact some seem put out and one is very, very rude (D) This is an animal hospital where people bring there beloved furry family members, often times sick. I understand that its business as usual for them. BUT its still a hospital and for someone with a sick pet it can be a very difficult and scary time. Ive called and requested a sick visit and was told it was a 3 week wait. This has happened several times from the same person(D), but if you call and get someone else they will get you an appointment that day or the very next day. There are some wonderful office staff too, really very kind!A little kindness, patience and understanding goes along way. The others could use a sensitivity training!!UPDATE: Although I posted this anonymously with a different name and email and NO phone number I received a call within hours at my job from the manager and now I feel a little unsettled.
I have nothing but absolute praise for this institution.....every member of the team will make you (and your pet) feel totally taken care of and treated like family. I have 3 small puppies (4 lbs-8 lbs) who all had they spaying/neutering performed there, as well as their share of sick visits and boarding. The surgeries were flawless, and the peace of mind that I received knowing that my puppies were being treated so well, with such a competent and compassionate staff was/is priceless. Oh, and they handled my crazy cat well too!
Receptionist was excellent very sweet understanding also Dr. Very pleasant caring
Very professional staff. Groomer “Sha” was OUTSTANDING!!!! My senior dog (16.5 yrs) Nemo, was treated so lovingly and groomed beautifully and my teacup Maltese Snowy received the BEST grooming haircut style ever!!! Thank you Sha for an amazing job with my precious little pals! Definitely recommend highly to all!!
Ive been going here for about 6 years now the staff is wonderful and I would not take my dog Maui anywhere else Dr Lisa was the absolute best she took such great care of Maui and showed so much compassion and love I cant thank her enough she was the best! And we miss her wish she was still working there 😢 but Maui saw another vet a few months back for his annual check up and she was very very nice I just cant remember her name due to that being our first time seeing/meeting her but we would definitely like to see her again for future appointments!
I visited for the first time 5 months ago, with my new puppy, needed his vaccinations. When I first visited, the staff members and doctor were very friendly. I had many questions because it was my first pet, and the doctor was explaining all the details of mandatory shots and recommendations. I asked her to write a list so I can reference it in future. After a month, I visited for my pets 2nd shot, and the man doctor was looking over my pet. It was fine, but they werent giving rabies shot to my pet when he was 3month saying hes too young, he can next month. When my puppy was at his 4th month, same thing, doctor said to wait until 20 weeks. - I researched, and most of places give rabies at 3-4 months. I was concerned, but told that depending on the doctors, it can be different. So i waited, and when he became 5 months, I visited. This is why I decided to stop going there. This place calls you right after they exam the pet, and before any shots are given to the pet, and the doctor called me and he said he will be giving two shots, but those shots were given last month, and he wasnt mentioning about rabies. I asked, and he said oh, let me look at his history .......like...... you dont look at the pets history before you decide what shots to give???????? ARENT YOU SUPPOSED TO CHECK BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY SPEAK TO THE OWNER?It felt like the doctor wasnt caring, he definitely does not know how to do his job.I went to this vet because it had a lot of good reviews, but I hope no one new tries this place out unless you have enough information about your pet. Only 2 star because of the doctor who was there 5 months ago.
Our dog was killed by a motorcycle on Wednesday, May 12th. We came to this office at 7:11 and begged for someone to just tell us if she was still alive. The staff ignored us first and then just told us that they were closed and nothing they could do. We took our dog here for 7 years and they knew her. I find it difficult to believe that at 11 mins past closing, there was NO ONE in your practice who could listen for a heartbeat. The callous, inhumane way we were treated at such a horrible time of trauma is inexcusable. I had to hold my beloved dead dogs body for another 45 mins in traffic to go to a different vet.And I will also say this now, on one of our last visits as I waited for over 3hrs, I saw one of the technicians taking a dog to her car. She was so abusive and angry with that dog. I was sickened. Something is very wrong in this practice if this is what I could see. Our pets lives are too precious to hope this is a good practice. It is not.
Waited two hours for my appt. Vet spent 3 min to look at my dog. Wait another half hour just to pay. Basically wait 2.5 hours for 3 min of “ she’s good”. It is poor management with unprofessional staffs. Left feeling cheated and scammed.
It’s terrible hospital when my son got sick 2 times they’ve not give appointments he got urgent care I beg them to see him told them it’s urgent they didn’t even care about it ,I got to go somewhere who didn’t know about my dog’s history tel them my dog is allergic and made my dog even got worse.Again today called them to ask rabies vaccine which’s passed and they didn’t called he need to take vaccines because of the other humans behalf again they gave me appointment for 10 days later,What if some dog beat my dog. Or my dog beats somebody ITS RABIES GOD SAKE RABIESSorry about my grammar mistakes
Do not bring your pet here. Management sucks
This was my first time going to this vet. It was a bit far from where I live but it was totally worth it. I really like the employees there, they are friendly and welcoming. The vet didnt push anything on us like others do and the price is reasonable. I will definitely be taking my dog here from now on.
Great place, well organized. We have never had an issue while boarding our dog here many times. Dr. Rosen is an experienced, compassionate, thoughtful doctor leading the staff.
I recently had to have a tumor removed from my dogs paw. Because of frustration from the lack of customer service at the first place I decided to go to North Shore Animal Hospital. I got a visit on the same day I called and surgery was set up in less than a week. Both the staff (especially Mindy) and Dr. Rosen have been exceptional!! The place is super clean and again.... The people working there are phenomenal!
I’m sorry. I know prices went up but to chArge 149.50 fir a cat to get shaved which doubled from just a few months ago is robbery! I’m sure the vet tech didn’t get a raise n the razor is not expensive to run. My dog has been seeing another vet bc these prices are a hold up without a gun. Well my cat will now go to the other vet too. If neighboring vets can be reasonable so can they. Update office manager says I paid 137.50 in October I told her I never would have come back n her record keeping must be as good as their med records. They have my dog as having seizures n water therapy which he never had. Good luck gettin payment
The staff are great and always treat my puppy Obi with love and care.
I recently had to put my cat to sleep and then made it a sad but good experience it was so nice and understanding and comforting the staff there is wonderful
I cant say enough about how much my family and I love this place. They took great care of our beloved dog Spencer who passed away. Great doctors and great staff. Thank you.
I brought my 7 year old cat this summer who refused to eat or drink. I was told nothing was wrong as far as they could tell from tests, he got an anti nausea shot and I went home relieved. 2 days later he still refused to eat or drink and was hiding. They said give it another few days, I did, I brought him back, they still said they were “baffled”. 15 days in, 3 visits later and $1,300 later, I had to put him down. I had to suggest subcutaneous fluids after reading all I could about what could be wrong. I get that not all let’s can be saved, but they couldn’t tell me what was wrong with him and on day 15, after he suffered so much, they said, “it must be catastrophic and we couldn’t have saved him no matter what”. It hurts to even write this.Last week my daughter took another cat who is 7 also for a yearly visit. They said they’d do a check up, blood work and a 3 year shot. She’s told no price but assumed the cost would be around $200-250, as we have 6 cats and that’s the usual charges. They call her for payment (you wait outside due to COVID) and they say it’s $425! She asks why, how can it cost so much? First they say that to test his thyroid cost extra, when she continued to complain, they say they found a “coupon” and the charge would be $260, $200/visit $60/shot. **They had waited over 2 hours in the parking lot at this point so she asked if he was done, the girl at the desk, who they could clearly see through the front glass, got up, came back and said yes, he’s ready, so my daughter asked if they could please bring him out as he’d been in there for over 2 hours in a Cartier at that point. They didn’t outright refuse to give him back, but 40 minutes later they still didn’t have our cat. Her boyfriend was upset, my daughter was upset and they repeals asked for the cat while they discussed the charges. At that point her bf was ready to call the police and I was now texting my daughter. They didn’t bring our cat out until AFTER the payment was made, they held him hostage and I’m sure it’s because they saw 2 younger people and thought they’d get away with such heinous behavior. I called and spoke to the supervisor twice and the woman at the desk, both of whom kept repeating, “we’d never hold a pet hostage, he wasn’t done”. Btw, my daughter was the SOLE person in the lot and not one person went in or out in the 2 1/2 hours of their ordeal. I told the supervisor you certainly did, funny how he was brought out the second you got paid but their immediate denial of refusing to return him let me know that’s exactly what they did. We’ve used them a few times, after my cat died I didn’t want to go back but they’re close by and my daughter had just had her gallbladder removed so she thought well, it’s just a checkup and he’d been there before. Never again! I’ve looked through all my receipts and I’ve never been charged more then $200 for an annual, even with shots. They failed to explain why they tried to charge the $400 plus to start with. I’m disgusted with their attempt to bilk a young adult and their withholding a pet for payment. They were going to get paid, they always do, it was a matter of how much. Sorry this was long, I just want you to check your charges and ask questions when they offer a diagnosis. It could be life or death.
Been trusting them with my dog for 6+ years now, even with the 45 minute drive. Theyre great with animals (obviously) courteous to us humans, and the pricing is reasonable. Until they give be reason to go elsewhere, Ill continue going here.
People so helpful and patient! Lost the prescription for the cat but they emailed the prescription so I didnt have to drive back and get the prescription.
My Penny had not been groomed since Waggers closed & she was a tangled mess. I tried NorthShore because of vet/grooming/boarding service. Shay did a beautiful job grooming. Vanessa & Deadrea(?) at the desk were very friendly. Everything is clean & parking right there. We will definitely be back
This is the best animal hospital around. They are open 7 days a week, have a vet tech on duty 24 hours to monitor the animals who stay overnight, and the vets are very caring and knowledgable. The great thing is that they have much of the diagnostic equipment on site, so you dont have to come again to get a test done. The front desk staff are friendly and kind and make me feel welcome. They have a parking lot so it is very convenient. I usually use Dr. Rosen for my cats, but every one of the vets has been so wonderful and take the time to explain your options which I really appreciate. I would highly recommend them.
This is the place to take your pet for veterinarian care. Staff are very friendly and place is always clean. One thing that I truly appreciate is that once the vet gives you the diagnosis, never push you to do or perform unnecessary procedures. They go straignt to the matter and take care of your pet.So far, very happy with their service❤
Unfortunately we only found this practice once my pet was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I wish we could have fund this practice years earlier. The care and environment at North Shore was beyond my expectations. We had Dr. Jamie Zhen as our end of life for our dog vet and it was the best selection for his care in 14 years we have even made. The entire staff at the hospital was professional and compassionate. They made an extremely difficult time for my family and dog a lot easier. Appointments were given based on my needs. Even with phone calls Dr. Zhen was rapidly available. When we decided to euthanize yesterday dr. Zhen was with us every step of the way, reassuring us that we made the right decision at the right time which meant so much to us. The whole procedure with losing my dog was done with dignity for care for our dog as well as us. We were encouraged to take as long time as we needed and they made all the arrangements easy as well as affordable. If you are looking for a practice where utter care will be provided for your pet, do not hesitate to chose this one. If I can ever handle getting another dog this is were my pet will be treated, without a doubt.
I have been bringing both dogs and cats to this animal hospital for 25 plus years. The staff and Doctors are friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. Whether your pet needs medical care, boarding, or grooming, I dont think there is a better facility in NYC.
If I could give this animal clinic no stars , I would. I had been bringing my cat , chocolate chip, here for the past 20 years.Dr Rosen is a good vet, and always treated my cat well! Last monday night, the 15th of March, I noticed a large cyst on my cats mouth. She also could not walk. I called the clinic to bring my cat down, and was told they couldnt see me.I gave them my name several times, explained that I had an emergency, but the clerk told me that the doctor had no appointments left. (I recently spent $600 for an echo cardiogram for my beloved cat) I asked to speak to a manager, and was told the same thing. They gave me the name and number of an emergency clinic 15 miles away and hung up!Luckily, a Vet clinic near by, who never saw my cat before, told me to bring her down immediately. She was diagnosed with late stage cancer and put to sleep.Im writing this story with no malice. No words are necessary, as the story speaks for itself! I hope that in sharing the uncaring and unethical behavior of the clinic, this will not happen to another pet lover!
Ive been coming here since my aunt had her dog (10+ years) and since I had my dog (4+ years). Dr Rosen and Dr Zhen are the best vets I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They take such good care of the animals that are being treated and they dont pressure you into doing something you dont want to do. Dr. Rosen doesnt beat around the bush, hes very straight forward and down to business and returns calls in a timely manner. I know that my dog and my aunts dog are in good hands when they are there. Not to mention they keep you updated when your pet has to be kept for the day. Never an issue and the prices are affordable. I would recommend this place to everyone! Thank you Dr. Rosen, Dr. Zhen and the wonderful and professional staff that manage this vet clinic. You are all angels in disguises.
Dr Rosen kept me in touch all the way of my dogs progress . I have not had such a great dedication to customer service and the caring that Dr Rosen exhibited .Thank you Dr Rosen! A plus
Great place with a wonderful staff all around. My cat Smokey is always leaves there in a great mood after the kind, gentle, and always thorough care taken by Dr. Galati and the Vet Techs. I rescued her from the ACCS kill list. She was in that fantastic facility for 15 days being handled rough, people and animals making noise 24/7, being locked in a small metal box and surely sensing And smelling death. She relaxes once she enters North Shore Animal Hospital because of the vibe from everyone there, and I am glad knowing I live so close to a place like that for all of my animal care needs.
Today our dog who weve been with for over 10 years died. Before he died we switched to this vet recently. Our dog wasnt eating and was throwing up and vomiting. The vet said his pancreatitis test would come back in 1-2 business days. We called 3 days later and it became 5-7 business days. We called in a panic because he still wasnt eating, and at that point we were using syringes to put food and medicine in his mouth. We were told we would be called back multiple times but never got that call back. We wanted to ask about hospitalization and were interrupted and told to call back, each and every time. We thought that he wouldnt die like this, we were feeding the medicine they prescribed and making him eat. He died today 8 business days after his test, or 11 calendar days. If you love your pet, dont go to this godforsaken place. They dont care about you. I wish I could go back in time and pick a different vet, but now all I can do is grieve.
Awesome facility and they have a great staff very friendly and knowledgeable and my wait time was less than 5 minutes the veterinarian who took care of my cat very knowledgeable and my baby girl felt very comfortable with the vet great place to take your wonderful pets
This place is always the best. Ive been coming here for at least 10 years. The staff are wonderful along with all the doctors. Both my dogs are a pain and they treat them so well!
Ive been bringing my animal family to N. Shore for many years, and Im always so grateful for the attention, the compassion, and the knowledge my critters are treated to. When there is good news, I can share it with the staff and doctors, and when the news isnt so good, its obvious that my pain is shared. Great hospital, excellent medical care, wonderful staff!
The past weekend, my fiance and I knew our elderly cat Grace was suffering and needed help. It was a hard time, and even though we knew it was the end that did not make it any easier for my fiance or myself. The staff here at North Shore Animal Hospital were compassionate, professionals who helped us through probably the toughest choice in our life so far. They allowed us to grieve and show our emotions. They were respectful, polite and understanding. Dr. Zhen helped us through until the final moments and in her both my fiance and I saw a truly caring, compassionate professional who loves animals.I would recommend The North Shore Animal Hospital to anyone who has a pet, because the staff truly cares about you, your pet and your family. Thank you for your help and compassion during our time of loss. -Steven & Steven.
Dr. Gooden who is the one that sees my friends doggie, is very nice and always patient and willing to answer all the questions. The ladies in the office are also very nice, as are the ladies who come pick up the pets from the cars.
This place keeps your animals!!!!!!! If you don’t have all there cash on hand be carful!!!!!!!’ Kept my car for 400 dollars of payment had to knock on the door in the cold for over an hour and they wouldn’t give him back until I paid. Make sure you have every cent the ask for or they kidnap your cat for payment. The vet sounded miserable and didn’t call me about anything that happened in the physical. If you wanna pay 400 for a physical and blood work come here. Try mid island hospital much better 150 for all that and medicine. Important!!!! This place will keep your animals if you don’t have all there money!!!!!!!! This place is super shady!!! Will not give yo ur animals back and your can’t even go in argue it!!!!! If you want your animal stolen come here.
Dr. Mía is the best! She has helped solve many of my dogs health problems. She listens, she’s patient and she is very thorough. We are very lucky to have her as our vet!
Unfortunately our family dog passed recently.....but North Shore at Bayside was so kind and considerate...especially Mikelle and Michael who treated us with such kindness....gave extra time with our pet even though it was time to close....they were extremely gracious giving the family time to grieve and tru to begin to heal. I would give 10 stars if I could...Thank your North Shore Animal Hospital.
We have used a lot of vets over the years for 5 dogs and 21 + cats. I agree with the poster who said that the support staff demonstrate that they truly love animals. They are VERY kind to them and provide gentle, compassionate care and really get to know each animal. The staff vets are quite bright. We use Dr. Rosen and Eylers and they have been excellent diagnosticians and have done some great surgery including dental work that was complex. I do recommend them and I feel I can TALK to them openly. Anyone who complains about the fees needs to know that they are pretty much the same everywhere.
This place has to be prestigious they are allowed to carry the name in New York that they have right now and plus look at their reviews.butits the worst place you can go to!!Place is dirty, staff are cold,Dont go here! You will make your pet even sicker I wish somebody could have warned me on time like I warn you right now.Go somewhere else for your pets sake.
If you can get here with your pet, i would suggest it over ANY other pet clinic. Theyre great for the money they charge. Full exam no matter the reason of visit. Great treatment of pets and owners a like. Respectful, sincere, courteous and professional, you can get the best treatment for your animals without breaking the bank.
I brought my dearest friends dog for an emergency one very desperate day. I wish I remember the veterinarians name, he was so special and understanding of my familys situation. He offered to keep my dog overnight for observation, for Jack was having a real rough time. He put my family at ease during a difficult time. When the good lord took Jack to be with jim, by the end of the night, the veterinarian called at a very late hour to send condolences and make a plan for my Jacks final resting place. they took great care of my pal, and of us humans. I will come here everytime to keep my pets happy and healthy.
Staff was friendly and courteous. I took major points off because their filing system is still paper, not electronic. They took my files from my previous vet and transcribed them onto a large index card. I was very disappointed that they dont have a modern system.
Our dogs vet is Dr.Lisa and she is amazing. When we adopted Ellie from the shelter she was sick with giardia, kennel cough, hook worms and coccidia. I remember feeling helpless, here i was with my first puppy and she was so ill. Then there was Dr.Lisa she came to the rescue! She treated Ellie quickly and confidently and after just a few follow up appointments our puppy was completely healed and finally back to being a playful pup! I am so thankful for Dr.Lisa, she saved her.
My cats name is Tobi.He couldnt sleep for 3 days. But now hes knocked out sleeping. Thanks to Dr. Zhen. He randomly started vomiting for about 4 consecutive days. After he vomited his dinner, he threw up yellow (sometimes foamy) bile. He threw up every 2 to 3 hours, day and night. The second day of vomiting, we took him to #FlushingVeterinaryHospital, and was denied to be seen because they did not accept walk-ins. They lady opening the gate did not even bother taking the cigarette out of her mouth while suggesting us to go to #PetCareAnimalClinic. As for Pet Care, they did allow walk-ins. Jack was very patient with me, however, he did not tell me anything that I already had noticed (dehydrated, losing weight, etc). He stated he cannot treat him since he did not know the cause of the vomiting. He recommended blood tests and x-ray, gave me a guarantee that it will cost under $700. I left, after paying $58 for the visit. No treatment, no professional advice. He did randomly take Tobi out of the carrier to weigh him before I was requested to pay for the visit. On the fourth day, we were able to squeeze in for a last minute appointment visit at the #NorthShoreAnimalHospital. Dr. Zhen. She asked questions like is he the type to eat, swallow random stuff lying inside the house? Is he peeing? Hes eating? Thats good. She told us everything. He had a little bit of tartar, his heart and lungs are healthy, his bladder is small to moderate size (as for Pet Care said that he had a extra large bladder), took his temperature and weighed him. Dr. Zhen suggested anti-nausea shot for temporary relief to see if that calms the symptoms. She suggested blend diet since he may have slight digestive issues, we were sent home with 3 can food, to feed him in 1/4 portions 4 times a day. He also got some vitamin shots and IV fluid due to dehydration and lack of nutrition. She added an anti-nausea pill for emergency since the shot will last for 24 hours. We were seen at 4:15PM. They close at 4. The total bill was $130, with charge of the first visit waived.I found my vet. Have you?
The workers and Doctors here are a great team, their kind and caring to your pets as well as you. Was worried when I moved if I was going to be lucky enough to find another good vet and I did. Thank you N. S. Animal Hospital.
Staff are friendly, accommodating and most of all caring to my beloved pet which I consider a part of my family. Am sure they are with the rest of their clients. They have a groomer which I like and a parking lot as well. I recommend this place for the reasons I mentioned
So far it was good. They treat my dog Fendi like she was family. That what matter to me she felt loved while she was being taken care of by the Doctor and nurses.
This is by far the best Animal Hospital I have ever seen. The staff and doctors are amazing and the prices very reasonable. They treat your pet as if it were their own. I wouldnt dream of taking my cat any place else.
Doctors are knowledgeable, friendly and answer all questions. Staff are always professional, polite and responsive. Always great experience bringing my pets here and I trust them 100%.
Dr. Warner was wonderful, as well as the whole staff! Needed an emergency appointment for my furbaby who was sick over the weekend, and they were very accommodating and were able to see me on Monday! Thanks again!!
Very good place, great staff. Veterinarians are dedicated and kind. Love it
My dog died here. We dont know why or how. All we know is that she had a lot of blood all over the leg area where they tried to vaccinate him...we didnt get to find out or see anything because they take the dog inside. What we are upset about is that no one wanted to take responsibility. We were asked to pay for the service in the midst of trying to deal with the dogs passing. She was only 2 years old...this place should be investigated - make sure the techs are all certified vet techs!
The doctor was amazing but the assistant was RUDE . She was a horrible angry lady. Insulted me and accused me of negligence rather then asking simple questions.Convient location shame the staff is subpar. She lacked knowledge and bedside manner.
ZERO STARS!!! I had just picked up my cats ashes. The 2 receptionists could not have been ruder. No eye contact, no condolences. Didnt utter a word to me; just handed my sweet Sheebas ashes in a paper bag. Thanks Dr. Gooden for your complete negligence that lead to the death of my cat and a bigger thank you to the receptionists who have no manners. What a way to pick up a deceased love one. *** In response to what you wrote, the receptionist was not diligently getting Sheebas records together. They were already ready. You want to pack on more lies?? And I have heard from a number of other of your previous clients who have lost their pets under your care Take your lies somewhere else..I know better!!
They always take care of our boys whenever we bring them there. Very happy with the precautions taken due to the current situation. Always a good experience whether it be grooming or medical needs.
Always a positive experience. Doctors communicate about what is going on with your pet; the staff is friendly and professional. I am always able to get an appointment.
Great place for wellness care, however if you need them in an emergency they could care less and will give you an appointment the following month. If your looking for complete reliable care keep looking
Love North Shore Animal Hospital! Dr. Rosen is a fantastic vet and I wouldnt think of going anywhere else! The office staff is always friendly and the facility is very nice/clean/modern.
Very cold stuff when I brought my dying pet over, showing no sympathy at all and just direct us to a different hospital without even first let the doctor see our dog. Pricey as well
Compassionate, great staff. Great boarding, doctors will answer questions 7 days a week. Very helpful and open until the 10pm. Open 7 days a week until late. Great place and people.
Great service my grandog went there for her first puppy check up the nurses and doctors
They took care of my Ruby extremely well .. I highly recommend them to everyone I know. They truly care about our pets.
North Shore animal hospital have friendly staff and doctors. Would definitely recommend.
The receptionist Mindy, terrible. Rude on the phone and in person. Unbelievable.Very unfriendly,Yellow short hair and weared glasses.I cant understand why such a person works at a veterinary hospital.
My family has been using North Shore Animal Hospital since the days of Dr Ferber Senior...Now we see Dr. Rosen who we adore.... All the Drs are most excellent and we would never go anywhere else..
On September 12, 2017 sadistic Dr. Smiley, a tall blond woman violently punched my dog, Diamond on both of her ears when the puppy said hello to her after which the burly female assistant placed Diamond in a deadly Eric Gardner chokehold so she could not breathe. The dog was very friendly and did not bite.A few years ago when my other dog Winsome Whelp dislocated her hip they performed unnecessary surgery, a femoral head ostectomy on her that cost $2000. Instead of placing the femur back in the hip socket, after which Dr. Corbet prescribed otiose Cephalexin in 500 mg three times a day although she had no infection. The antibiotics hurt her kidneys making her want to piss incessantly. Lisa Colgin, another vet there wanted to amputate her left leg that was only sprained.Dr. Dunn prescribed otiose, i.e., unnecessary eye drops for a cat with herpes which does not respond to drops. She also sprained my cats legs by pulling him out of a carrier by his front legs. Dont go there unless you want them to injure your animal.
All the doctorsb, nurses and therapists at North Shore provided great care for my Francis. I am utterly grateful for the great care and attention everyone provided him while at North Shore.
Great animal Hospital. Has ample parking lot. Friendly, helpful staff. Highly recommended to anyone with a pet. Fair decent price. Only place I would go, from now on.
I love everyone here. Weve been coming here since it was the old name. My pets are always taken care of and theyre great with last minute appointments
Jamie Zhen is NOT cat friendly. I have been going there for 2 years to trim nails without medication . Now dr zhen wants to make him drowsy to trim his nails. Again dr zhen is NOT cat friendly

Great place to bring your pet but do plan on them adding all sorts of tests and pills to your final bill that you really need or your a bad pet owner. I think its the sales pitch they teach in college these days.
The people is very friendly and the Dr is very honest with me,I’m very happy for the service in north shore animal hospital
The staff and Doctors are incredible !!!!! If you have any concerns they take the time to explain everything to you with care.I truly recommend North Shore Animal Hospital.Matilda
I was pleased with the attention that Dr. Rubin gave to my dog. And, I decided to leave my dog for boarding during my traveling of weeks.Thank you Dr. Rubin.
Very nice place, clean, does not have animal smell. Doctors are nice and staff very friendly. Bit pricey compared to other vets
Dr Zhen is warm and caring and loves animals. She is very knowledgeable and treats my pets as if they were her own.
Excellent hospital ... excellent vets ... excellent staff ... everyone is friendly and super knowledgeable .... took care of our three cats for many years ...now that we are moving to another country, we will have a dilemma to find someone as good as these guysthank you Dr. Rosen, Dr. Zhen and Mendy (and all the rest of the wonderful staff) for many years of great workFate, Tuffy, Shades Dad and Mom :)
Very courteous. Vets always request permission to do anything to your dog even if its just clearing a matt, they ask before they do anything to your dog, even a tiny clip of fur.
Great service and reasonable prices. They are a vet the gets we love our pets but can’t spend our entire paycheck there.
I highly recommend North Shore Animal Hospital. Everyone is friendly ,considerate and professional. They really care about Animals. I knew my dog was in good hands.
Reception desk is under stagged. Everytime you call you are placed hold for a long period of time.
The doctor and staff were friendly. They listened to my concerns and explained the treatment plan for my cat thoroughly.
4.5 -After some initial scheduling hiccups, we had super friendly and helpful staff and an altogether good experience with this pet hospital.
Love the worker & dog doctors. Realy nice people. They also know how to take care of ur dong or cat.
Quick, efficient and reasonable cost. Parking is a plus.
Veterinarians are not only very good at what they do but care so much and treat you and the animals so well. If this isnt your go to you better change vets because theyre the best!
Excellent truly pet loving staff and veterinarians! Staff is always on point and attentive! True professional operation!
Too expensive, I just gave my dog did a blood test and fecal test then spent $900
We took my fiancé cat for a check up. Vet and staff were nice and helpful.
From puppy to senior pet; have been fortunate to have had them care for our dogs. They are accommodating and professional.
The front desk girl with brown glasses was rude and not patient at all when answering questions!!?? No coming back!
I love the staff! I have two vet offices a block from me and I travel from LIC to Bayside to board my dog with them.
Love them! Absolutely fantastic they treated my puppy like a king! Friendly and welcoming.

North Shore always takes care of my babies. The staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable!!
My cat had an emergency and they were able to help us even in a short notice on Sunday!!They are the best!!!
We had a great experience at this vet. She was very thorough and compassionate.
We came in today because my precious dog had ingested sand the day before and felt sick all night. I appreciated they were able to see her as a walk in with little wait time. The whole staff was efficient and friendly. I appreciate all cautions taken due to COVID through the curbside service. Communication was efficient and clear in regards consultation, diagnosis and treatment. X-rays were taken and results were delivered immediately. Me and Koukla are very grateful for making her tail wag again!
I had to put my cat down and although it was so sad, the staff was there and explained everything they were doing as they went along. Also they boxed him so we could take him home to bury him.
They are great with the animals and the owners. Its not 5 stars only because they dont miss a chance to add onto the bill.
We went to north shore and the staff was so nice and patient with us. Dr gooden is so nice and helpful..
