The techs and doctors at the Finger Lakes Animal Hospital are the absolute best exotic vets in the area. They have always given the very best of care for my rabbits and know and understand these delicate animals needs in times of distress and crisis. I highly recommend this vet as the number one go to place if you have an exotic or rabbit that needs the best of care in the Rochester/Canadaigua area. They also board pets at a very reasonable rate if you happen go away on vacation. Cant say enough good things about this place. Thanks again to all the staff!

Dr. Kurtz listens to all my concerns and answers any questions I might have. She is spot on helping me navigate my diabetic, CKD cat. I have no problems making an appointment or getting my animals in quickly, the front end staff are great.The technicians are wonderful. When it was time to say goodbye to our fur babies everyone was so helpful and understanding. I recommend Finger Lakes Animal Hospital.

Not satisfied at all. Our usual vet retired and thought we would try the FLAH.They were OK at first, but our old Puppy had an emergency and they couldnt fit her in. At the ER Vet, ARK, they treated her and fixed her up. They also ran a Heartworm test. This was in March. We needed pills in April and they would only give us two pills. Then when July came around they would only give us two pills. September came around, NO MORE Pills unless we brought her in. Asked why, and were told there MIGHT be something wrong with her??? I asked if, at her age, did she really need the Heartworm. Got NO answer. They were willing to let her go without the Heartworm Meds even though her test was good through the next 8 months. I quit them and found another vet who took her in and treated our girl and us with respect. Also, for a lot less money. Oh, and did I say the FLAH vets seemed to have terrible bedside manners and a rundown facility.

Really nice, friendly, and accommodating place. Ive had no issues at all and theyre very up front and reasonable when it comes to costs etc. Def will work with you to make sure your pet is taken care of

My husband and I moved to NY State two and a half years ago. After trying another Veterinary Clinic, we ended up at Finger Lakes Animal Hospital... and they have been a blessing!! Recently, our youngest cat developed a breathing problem, and of course it was over a weekend. I frantically called everywhere I could find on line, to no avail. Since we had moved from Canandaigua to Waterloo, I tried to find someone nearby, but no one would see our boy without an appointment. Finally, out of desperation, I called Finger Lakes. It was Monday morning, and the voice that answered the phone listened to my story with patience and compassion, offering some helpful advice and told us to come right in! Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do that would extend our precious Heikes life, so my husband and I decided that helping him across the Rainbow Bridge would be the kindest thing we could do. They took us to a beautiful, peaceful room and brought Heike to us. Of course, we were devastated, but their kindness and compassion was priceless.Now, we drive the 40 minutes to Canandaigua knowing that our kitties will get the best care around and that we humans will have the comfort of knowing that they are in the care of competent, caring professionals.Thank you, Finger Lakes for always being there for us.

Weve have taken our family pets to FLAH for many years. The staff is exceptional & our pets actually enjoy their visit! We also have exotics, and their new exotics vet is exceptional. We board our pets & the experience has always been great for us and our pets are happy when we pick them up, this tells us our pets are well taken care of.

My first interaction with this vet was unfortunately under the worst of circumstances; my old dog was dying suddenly and his normal vet was gone on vacation. It was a Saturday at 7:00am, and we called everywhere we could to get him in. We knew he wouldn’t make it to an ER. FLAH was the only vet able to see him. Unfortunately shortly after we got there he passed, but I am forever grateful that they got us in, gave us a rundown of what was going on, and most importantly treated us like we’d been there all along as our buddy passed. It’s never an easy thing, but the staff was awesome.When we down the line got our puppy, we immediately brought him here because we remembered how cared for we felt. He is now 7, and we love both Dr. Kurtz & Dr. Monacchino. We also have a business of ferrets and bring them there as well, and between all the pets, we’re always given the best of care and lots of patience. (I’m an anxious person who asks lots of questions!)Our dog injured himself recently and needed ER care out in Buffalo, and Stacy and Dr. Monacchino have both checked in to see how he was doing/expressed relief when I would chat with them.There is another vet within walking distance from our apartment, but we make the drive out to FLAH because we love them so much.Thank you all for taking such great care of our fur babies! We love them and you all for everything you do. ❤️

I feel like this vet is in it for the money. my large dog ate 2 grapes, and she was acting 100% fine, but i called anyways just as a precaution. they told me that i should still bring her in, which i ended up spending $1000 on precautionary measures. they ran tons of tests, and gave her fluids. she was totally fine, and would have been fine had we done nothing, because all they did was tell me she was fine. but who can say no when your vet is telling you that your dog may be in danger. not to mention they were putting a muzzle on her without my knowledge, knowing l’m not comfortable with it. she is a bit scared of the vet and new people, but she has never once been aggressive. i’ve been coming here since she was a puppy, but l’m starting to see that they do not care about the well being of my dog, but rather themselves.

Best Place very! Dr. Katrina is so insightful! My dog actually likes being around her!! They get the job done, and I feel she is one of the best surgeons out there in her field! I am very blessed to have found Finger lakes and Dr. Katrina, and do not mind driving half hour or sometimes 45 minutes to get there!! She is worth every effort!! The staff is always so nice too and very helpful! I love that they love my dog as well!

I cannot say enough good things about Finger Lakes Animal Hospital. They have always treated Bella and Waffles with care and respect. When the difficult decision came to put Bella to rest, I was out of town and was unable to be there with her. The staff stayed with Bella through the procedure and gave me the reassurance I needed, to allow her to peacefully drift away and no longer be in pain. My animals are my family and I 100% recommend Finger Lakes Animal Hospital!

Dr Picariello is a life saver. She is the best of the best! I love this place and everyone that works there. They are always friendly, understanding, and attentive. I had some hard times with my fur baby and they took such good care of her (and me) through it all. From the front desk, to the vet techs and docs, they show great empathy and genuinely care. Best vets office Ive ever had.

They werent accepting me patients. My sweet baby got into some chocolate..... she was very sick. I rushed her there, exclaimed what happened. They rushed her to the back no questions asked. She stayed overnight. Shes alive and thriving again. Then, when I found out how much the bill was, and having children, and responsibilities I didnt have enough on hand to cover. They were so gracious and let me put down a very small down payment and I have them my banking information and permission topull the remainder on payday. My bill was paid as promised. They are heroes. And now my baby has an amazing vet team that I know would do anything for her. Thank you so much to everyone there.

Ive been impressed with FLAH right from my first visit, and they havent let me down yet. They helped me through the decline and passing of my little Bessie, and now theyre taking care of my brand new (to me) dog, Simon. Doctor M is wonderful with patients and owners alike. Ill be coming here as long as I have fur babies.

The doctor is awesome but unfortunately the front office staff is very rude! They are very expensive as well. We changed clinics because of this.

We needed a USDA certified vet to complete a European Union Health Certifcate for our two dogs as my husband is in the military and we will be moving overseas. They saw us immediately to make sure the dogs were up to date on everything required by the country of entry and made sure we were seen in the time allotment required. We went twice and were pleased with our visits. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only downside was the cost. It was quite expensive but we were aware of some of the cost involved when moving overseas. Previously coming from Key West, we are used to high costs, but here it was more than when we lived in the Keys. But overall we were pleased with the staff and how amazing they were with our two very different dogs.

Theyre extremely kind to both of my dogs

We adopted an eight month old pit from a local shelter and she became extremely aggressive. The vet told me to have her put down end of story. I said I wasnt comfortable with that, she was less than a year old. I repeated asked if there was any other options. NO was the only answer. When your vet tells you there is nothing you can do for a pet you love it heartbreaking and she was rude and treated me like I was waiting her time. 6 months later I have found a wonderful vet who stayed late so we could come in when all other dogs were gone. She did blood work and prescribed meds, made med changes and was truly working in the best interest of my dog. Night and day for me this place. Bottom line they only want easy well behaved clients, if you need real behavior help avoid them.

Just seeing about getting my farm dog a rabies shot. They said $150 up front for record keeping. No thanks. 5 minutes of computer work is not worth $150.

In general receptionists at human doctors offices can be so rude and act like you are in inconvenience. Well NOT here. They are so friendly and helpful and actually WANT to help you. Our tech was really sweet and good with our dog. The doctors are very thorough and answer all my questions. I never feel rushed and I am confident that the standard of care is high. Overall great experience.

We absolutely love FLAH. We switched from another local vet after feeling that they did not provide compassionate care to our dog and that we were a burden at times. The entire staff at FLAH has been warm and kind from the beginning and truly invested in our dogs and their care. I will always recommend their services to anyone looking for a new vet office.

I am very happy that I found Finger Lakes Animal Hospital, and Dr. Tyrrell. Everyone at the practice is very friendly, warm and caring when taking care of my furbabies, and they are very nice to me as well. Dr. Tyrrell is very knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain things to me and explain all options of care and treatment. I have been to other vets who were rough with my pets and rude to me; believe me, I never returned there! But I love the staff at Finger Lakes Animal Hospital. They treat my pets like I want them to be treated.

SO disappointed! We took our dog and 2 cats to the Finger Lakes Animal Hospital for years, and I have nothing bad to say about the vets and staff who work there ... BUT over time the cost for services and medications just seemed to go up and up. It cost over $80 to get a thyroid blood test done for my dog, and they made me repeat it every 3 months even though his levels never changed! The cost of the thyroid medicine was extremely high, and when I found the same pills for a 3rd of the cost on Chewy.com, they made it difficult for me to get the script I needed (wouldnt fax or mail, I had to physically drive there to pick up). The final straw was when my cat Wiley did not yet need a vaccination at his annual wellness examine, but when I tried to make an appointment with a technician 4 months later they would not allow me to do this... they said that Wiley needed to have ANOTHER full (expensive, unnecessary) pet exam because it had been more than 3 months since his last visit. Seriously??? His wellness visit 4 months ago wasnt his first time there ... he was seen there multiple times a year for every year of his life!! I love my animals ... I have paid thousands of dollars on their health and wellness ... you dont need to nickle and dime me! And most disappointing of all, when I called the office to share exactly why they were losing a loyal customer, and I invited the receptionist to share my feedback with management and invited management to call me to discuss, I NEVER HEARD FROM ANYONE!!! So dont tell me you really care about my animals more than you care about the money they brought you ... either you dont miss them or DONT EVEN REALIZE THEYRE GONE!!! I now take my furry family to Victor Vet Care, where it costs me $40 to have my dogs thyroid bloodwork done, and when I asked them how often he needed it repeated for medication refills, the vet looked at his medical history and said, Well, his levels have been the same for years. So unless you have any concerns about his weight or energy or skin, I dont see a need to recheck it until his wellness exam next year. (Well, yeah - thats how often I get MY own thyroid bloodwork - that hasnt changed in years - done!). AND the vet went out of her way to give me a script so I could order the pills on Chewy (even though their cost for thyroid pills is nearly half of what I paid at Finger Lakes Animal Hospital!). Most importantly, I feel like the vet and staff at Victor Vet Care are not just competant, but that they really CARE ... they tell me this not just with their actions, but with their consideration towards the pet owners ... that just because we WILL pay anything for the care if our animals doesnt mean they SHOULD take advantage of that by jacking up their prices! I would never be willing to give up quality just because it costs less ... so Im thrilled that I finally found a place where I can get excellent medical care at a reasonable price. Its very unfortunate that the Finger Lakes Animal hospital has become too big, or too complacent, to even care whether customers and their animals stay.

After our primary boarding facility was at capacity we reached out to FLAH for boarding for the upcoming weekend. We didnt have the Lepto vaccine (which other facilities dont require and some vets question the necessity of) they required for boarding, so instead of telling us they wouldnt be able to service us, which would have allowed us to find alternative plans, they had us jump through hoops with our own vet only to tell us over a day later that the vaccine would have to be administered two weeks prior to boarding. This resulted in us having to miss our daughters end of the summer dance competition out of town. Communication and customer service were very poor.

I love this place this is my go to exotic vet. They have all been so kind to me and my babies . Always keep up with me and actually care about your pet! Prices are reasonable in my opinion. I love this place I would recommend here.

My husband and I recently moved to the area, and adopted a puppy from an owner who could no longer care for her. Our puppy is happy, healthy and smart, but was pending her rabies vaccine. We went to the Finger Lakes Animal Hospital because it is so close to our home, and simply because we are not familiar with the area. My husband called to make an appointment with no problem and they asked us to bring in a sample of our puppys stool. The office staff was wonderful. They were sweet, helpful, and attentive. HOWEVER, one of the female doctors was extremely rude and condescending to my husband and I. We adopted our puppy knowing she had limited paperwork, but we did what we were supposed to do-take her to a vet to receive a rabies shot. When the doctor walked into the room, she very curtly informed us that the paper work on our dog did not include the specific dates of her previous vaccines (which she received before we adopted her). She repeated that multiple times, and spoke to us almost like we were irresponsible children being scolded by a parent. Then, she demanded we call the people who sold us our puppy to ask for the dates. When my husband didnt jump up and grab the phone right away, because she continued to grill and reprimand us for not having more paper work on our pup, she asked my husband, Are you going to call, or what? Also, without consulting us, told her vet tech that our puppy was to receive another vaccine that we did not come in for. My husband stopped her and reminded her that we only came for the rabies vaccine, and nothing more. She replied with a, Dont you want to protect your puppy? Thank goodness my husband has no problem being stern, and again,reminded the vet that we were only here for the rabies vaccine that she was missing. At this point the vet tech who was in the room the entire time, explained the purpose for the vaccine and that it was optional. Then, the vet asked (very rudely) if we brought the stool sample, which we did and was taken by the office staff. She then mentioned that it would be an extra charge to inspect the stool sample. Again, my husband very firmly said that we are not interested in anything else except the rabies vaccine. When we initially made the appointment, they requested the stool sample and did not mention at all that it would be a separate procedure and extra charge. Rather, the doctor briefly mentioned it under her breath after we already brought the sample in. We let her know, again, that we only wanted the rabies vaccine and we were not interested in having the sample inspected. At this point, we just wanted to leave as soon as possible and did not want to continue any business with the Finger Lakes Animal Hospital, even though having the sample inspected is a check-up standard. We understand that she is a professional and extremely knowledgable in the subject, but we are surprised and disappointed at how poor her customer service and communication skills were. It was insulting and embarrassing, and made for a very uncomfortable appointment. We will definitely be taking our business and sweet puppy elsewhere, where we do not have to be worry about being guilted into extra charges or treated in a condescending manner.

CAUTION FOR DENTAL PROCEDURESStandard practice is to complete xrays, dental cleaning and any necessary extractions in a single visit. This visit was quoted at over $400, I had to wait several days after the initial visit for this quote to be emailed to me.When I called to schedule the procedure, the office staff informed me that they wouldnt do the extractions at the same time as his xrays and cleaning, and he would have to come back for a second procedure for any extractions. This is price gouging and no other office that I have spoken to operates like this.The office seemed reasonable for their check-up and vaccination costs compared to other offices, but do not come here for anything dental related.

I have a shelti and after about a year of not being able to afford a groomer (and a move back to the area after years away) he was a mess. My dog is sensitive and while not aggressive is often hard to work with and I have been seriously disappointed with groomers in the past who returned him to me not even half done and a neurotic mess from being in such a scary and hectic environment. Not so at the Finger Lakes Pet Center! I turned my dog over to them a tangled smelly mess and got back a perfectly groomed and HAPPY dog. I am so impressed not only with the service (taking a full two hours with each dog to move at their pace and keep them from being stressed) but also the price which in this economy was an added bonus and will ensure I can keep up with his grooming needs. I made a follow up appointment on the spot and intend to continue doing business with Lisa and her two wonderful assistants. I would recommend these ladies to anyone, especially if youve been burned by snooty, rude, over expensive and under performing groomers in the past. Two paws up, way up!

We love this place! We generally see Dr. Marrinan, who is very pleasant, patient, and thorough when it comes to explaining everything. Hes great with animals, but hes also great with people- which is sometimes hard to find in a vet. The supporting staff here like vet techs and receptionists are also extremely friendly. I find their prices to be very reasonable. One of our dogs had a knee surgery last year (stellar job by Dr. Marrinan) the initial estimate was lower than I expected and the actual cost ended up being lower than the estimate. I would definitely recommend this vet!

I highly recommend this place!! I have an amstaff who suffered from horrible skin allergies for years. After countless steroid shots given by my previous vet I had to try a different vet. My dog now has a beautiful coat and is almost competely itch free!! I am so happy and so is my doggy :) Thank you finger lakes animal hospital!!

Everyone has been very helpful. Finger Lakes Animal Hospital saved my duck when he was attacked by a fox. Mohawk was hatched out in my high school class, and has been my pet since. I was devastated when a fox got into his pen and bit him so badly, muscle was torn down to the bone. Dr. Tyrrell was willing to examine him and treated his wounds. She worked with him throughout his recovery. He has healed completely, and is very happily living in a new, reinforced pen with his hens.

We are summer residents in Finger Lakes. Dr. Kurtz has taken excellent care of our German Shorthair Pointers, Max & Gunner. During 2016 they caught a virus that plagued them for months. Dr. Kurtz was wonderful in her steadfast endeavor to make sure they got well. They always liked seeing her & the staff. Thank you, FLVH!

We recently brought our humane society adoption cat into the vet because of some behavioral issues, i.e. peeing all over the house.They were very understanding about the frustrations, and made sure to rule out any medical reason that he wasnt using the litterbox.Dr. T thought outside the box, and suggested an anxiety medication. Cats get anxious too! Walgreens has a prescription membership, which makes the medication he needed very affordable, and well worth getting.He has stopped peeing and is still a great addition to our family, and I dont have to clean up cat pee anymore. Thats a win for me.

They were able to get my cat right after he was hit by a car with a mangled foot.however i will not go back there when i couldnt afford to hand them 300 dollars it was suggested i put him down!!! In front of my three year old who was scared for his cat..i was able to get him seen at the lyons vet and they are tsking care of my baby and are working with me for payment..

Doctor Monachino and her staff put emergency care above existing scheduling needs. Thats a vet that gets animal care. Clean, intelligent, and great to find an avian vet close to home! Highly recommended.

The groomers at Finger Lakes Pet Center are the best, nicest folks around. They took good care of my cat Newman and he looked great after they were done with him.2022 Dr. Emilia Monachino and everyone were very sympathetic when it was time for our little doxxy, Mary Land, to cross the rainbow bridge.2024 Kali, the new groomer did the most spectacular Lion cut on my newest cat, Missy.

The staff and vets that work at this veterinary are very kind and understanding. They guide and help you through the care needed for your best friends.

Needed a sanitary clip for my fluffy kitty boy. They were able to get me in quickly and the groomer there was incredibly sweet, fast and efficient. She did an amazing job with my boy, and I was charged almost 30 dollars under what I was quoted. Highly recommend for cat grooming needs. Will be taking my boy back in the future when he needs another grooming.

2 dogs annual checkup cost 1149$ this year. Thats not a typo. They gave them the Flu vaccine without telling me and pretty much just piled on every other vaccine and possible charge they conceivable could. I love my dogs but this place is ridiculous. I would have appreciated it if they told me what any of things cost before they did it. This was my last visit, last years charge was ~700$. No wonder why the parking lot is always empty.

Took my cat here for pet boarding and got weird vibes as soon as I dropped her off - Just got the feeling that I was not welcomed. The attendant seemed very overwhelmed, but I brushed it off. Some things that were not communicated to me beforehand: 1) you have to call when you arrive 2) masks are optional until you get into an exam room. Poor communication and will not be going back.

My daughter has rabbits. When her oldest and very first bunny developed breast cancer, Dr. Tyrrell was there for us. She helped us through every step of the way, from the surgery, to the aftercare, and when the cancer returned (as she had warned us it would), the grief counseling and the inevitable euthanasia. I had such a good experience. We will always bring our rabbits to Dr. Tyrrell.

Can always get an appointment w/in a reasonable time. Very professional/ friendly people!

Edit.. I just took my big furball here again, and this time, it was perfect. Of course, he was muzzled, but like I said, I also muzzled when I cut his nails. I had a male veterinarian this time who was perfect with my dog he was fast and thorough. I have no complaints. In fact, I would give them a thumbs up on this visit. Me and my pup have been going to this vet 2020. First, let me say that the people are very nice. Even the veterinarian is very nice, but she doesnt seem to be too comfortable with big dogs. I have a German Shepherd, and hes on the large size about 110 lb. I expect him to be muzzled because even a little nip from him would not feel too good, but even being muzzled, she just doesnt seem comfortable around him. I called yesterday and said I think my dog has a UTI they said no problem get a urine sample drop it off to us and well put you down for an appointment on Tuesday so my wife get a urine sample and drops it off this morning not only did the people not know that my wife is supposed to be dropping off a urine sample they didnt have any record of his previous visit from 11 months ago. To their credit when my wife brought in the urine sample they asked if she could bring back the dog and the sample later today which was very nice but they could have called us and saved us a lot of time and from having to take off work. All I can do is tell you about my experience, good or bad, and you can decide for yourself whether or not you want to bring your loved ones.
