Dogward Bound

We used Dogward Bound for years with both our German Shepherds who loved coming here. However, that was when Vincent- the owner and a certified dog trainer- ran the place. However, after recent management changes with Vincent nowhere to be found/seen AND our pup returning from here with a serious injury requiring surgery- we will not be using or recommending this facility. It’s unfortunate but it’s just the way things go with a 24-year old with no training in charge of several dogs at one time. Wish they would update their website!

Weve used Vincent and Michelle at Dogward Bound for three years now, and its comforting to know that our dogs are in good hands when theres a family vacation and we cant bring them along. Our two goldens board together, and one has epilepsy with special medication which needs to be given twice a day. Vincent and his wonderful staff make our dogs feel at home and go above and beyond to provide loving attention. Thanks so much and and keep up the great work!

Been taking my dogs to Dogward Bound for about a decade, and cant say enough good things about them.They have stayed for a few days or up to three weeks and I know theyll be treated like honored guests rather than just someone elses pets. To me the most unique advantage is the socialization aspect the dogs enjoy rather than just plain boarding or day care. They come home happy and tired, both great things

Dogward bound is BEYOND awesome. We have been boarding our dogs with Vin for over 5 years and I wouldnt take them anywhere else. Our now senior rotti/shepherd mix has a severe case of separation anxiety and would be a mess when we picked him from the vet or previous boaring situations. Now I pick up calm, happy and TIRED dogs. Vin truly is the leader of the pack and the dogs (even my stubborn old man) follow him without thinking twice. Simply the best!!

We have boarded our 3 guys with Dogward Bound a few times over the past 2 years. They just came home today after a 4 day visit and had a wonderful stay! The staff is very friendly and great with the dogs. I love that our boys can stay in a suite together. Drop off and pick up is very easy. And I think they are very affordable compared with others in the Westchester/Putnam area. I highly recommend Dogward Bound!

Hi all! Our Rocky has a great time running around on top of your mountain!! He gets great exercise there out with you! Beagles need it!!!I wanted to tell you how impressed I am with your additional staff Morgan is great! She is on it! sweet/friendly and great with RockyBOTH her and Mary have been great with drop offs and pickups. Great additions from our last stay!We have been using Dogward Bound for over 3 years and with our faith in you it is the only way we get to travel and go to family events weddings etc. even got to go to ITALY for 9 days with the whole family knowing our Rocky was safe and sound with Vinny - only one to trust as he is an escape artist at Dogward Bound and gets to run around in such a large area!

I have boarded my pups for over 6 years with Vinny. I started with one senior rescue and have since added 4 more. They are small and stay together. I feel comfortable leaving them in such good hands. The pups have different medical issues and needs, and they are given great care. I highly recommend boarding/day care at Dogward Bound.

What an amazing place! Over the last few years we have kenneled our dogs (anywhere from 2 – 5 of them!) exclusively at Dogward Bound. Vincent & Michelle, and their staff do an incredible job. We have done overnights and multiple weeks. We appreciate how they accommodate us. Best part, the dogs get excited when they know they are going there. As soon as they see their “overnight travel bag,” they know they are going and get uncontrollably excited. It’s like they are saying, Yay! Whee!We’re going to camp DB! UPDATE: We put our German Shepherd and his beloved Mini-pincher companion in kennel for a week while we were on holiday. As usual they came back happy and healthy. Added bonus, our shepherd is so difficult he has always been apprehensive with anyone outside the immediate family. My wife and I noticed he gave goodbye kisses to both of the staff that helped them to the car. Cant say enough about Dogward bound.Absolutely, Positively the best dog boarding facility in the Lower Hudson Valley. I have a difficult German Shepherd to board and this place is the only kennel Ive found staffed and equipped to deal with him. Vinny is Excellent. The dog comes home happy and healthy to boot. They are second to none.

Recently started boarding my two pup kids at Dogward Bound and from the initial phone call I was impressed with their professionalism and caring, friendly manner. At drop off those positive vibes continued. The girls are fantastic, so kind and caring and just a joy to talk with - you can tell they like what they do and care about the pets. My dogs walk in happy and dont look back at mom and when theyre picked up they are in good spirits and healthy. I know my pups will continue to stay at DB for yeas to come and highly recommend trusting them with your four legged family members.

Each time I take my pup here I know she is in great hands. She is always excited to go and returns home happy and tired. Vinny and Michelle have gone above and beyond to provide a safe and trustworthy space for our four-legged family members! My girl can be a challenge to work with, but Vinny accepted her with open arms from day one! Highly recommended!

Vincent and the staff at Dogward Bound are terrific. Not only do they take great care of our dogs, they have also provided some training help as we worked to integrate our new rescue into the household. The facility is nice, surrounded by woods and offering doggy guests plenty of room for stretching their legs.

I have used dogward bound for 3 years. I have a Doberman who can be difficult and anxious but she goes there willingly and comes home happy.

We had never boarded our 8 year old rescue pup and she is our BABY. We voiced concerns over her ability to mix well with other dogs but didn’t want her sitting in a cage all day. Vinnie assured us that he would handle her with care, try her out in the larger population and, if it didn’t work, give her some personal time. We left feeling confident she was in good hands. The facility is beautiful and you definitely know these are dog people- not just a money making operation. Our Missi was well cared for and returned to us a healthy, happy girl. Even though we still make every attempt to get friends or relatives to watch her (or just bring her with us), if we ever had the need again, I would not hesitate to use Dogward Bound.

I was very happy with boarding my dogs here. My dogs seemed to enjoy it very much. I am excited about whir new expansion. I also loved all the extras you could sign your dogs up for. There seems to be lots of attention and care given. The reason they are only getting 4 stars is because of the limited hours for pick up and drop off. But they now have the transportation service so I might have to look into that. But overall I am very happy with them.

I bring my dog to daycare several times per week! He loves it and the staff at DogwardBound treat him like their own. My high energy boxer pup gets the exercise he needs in a safe environment. We do overnights as well as the new transportation service when i can’t fit in the pick up in my schedule. I’m so grateful to have found DogwardBound. Asher loves Mary & Morgan i have to drag him into my car to go home !

Bear, our 120 pound Bernese Mountain Dog loves Dogward Bound and so do we! The facilities are clean and spacious. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and kind to the animals. Bear especially likes that he can get out of the pen and socialize with other dogs. But he especially loves that he gets to go for long guided hikes throughout the property. Bear has always come home, happy and with his voice...meaning he isnt barking uncontrollably all week out of frustration. Rather he is happy, calm and fully vocal to greet us! We ❤ Dogward Bound.

I was running out of options for my 80 pound American Staffordshire Rescue, who had some issues in other kennels. I personally took Tank to meet Vinny at Dogward Bound and he was great with me (and my dog). I was so reassured and after having used DB several times now, I know that this is the only facility I would trust him at. The staff is great, especially Mary and Morgan. I cant say enough good things about this place.

I love this place! More importantly, my dogs love it. I had been taking my dogs here way before Vinny and Michele purchased it and turned it into Dogward Bound. I was skeptical at first but wow - such amazing improvements. Its a beautiful facility and they take excellent care of my two senior labs. Plus I love the fact that they can get out and stretch their legs and play with the rest of the pack. Couldnt recommend more! Kathy Braun

Love boarding my pitties here! They are active dogs and Dogward Bound take my dogs without any issues. I know that they are well taken care of and get their daily needs met, between socialization, training and downtime my pitties need a vacation after they are with Dogward Bound. Dogward Bound is a great place for any dog, but especially for dogs who need an outlet for lots of energy, like our 2.5-year-old hyper Lab, Matrix. With access to the awesome dog-park-like enclosures that Vinny has created, Matrix always comes home happy and TIRED! And whenever we go back again, she is always super happy to arrive and start her vacation. Finding a boarding place where our dog would be well cared for and have her needs met was one of our biggest concerns in bringing an energetic dog like Matrix into our family. Knowing Vinny and his team are there ready to help means theres much less stress for us whenever we need to travel.

Ive been using Dogward Bound for over 5 years now. I have complete trust in Vincent and in the experience that he provides for my dogs. Even though there are places much closer I drive the 40 minutes for the peace of mind knowing my pups are in good hands. Thank you to the whole Dogward Bound team for all that you do!

We boarded our two high energy dogs with Vinny while we went away for our first vacation since having our dogs. We were able to relax and our dogs were well taken care of. They came back happy, healthy and tired!!!!! Can’t wait to go on our next vacation and not have to worry about our pups! Highly recommended!

My dog was in perfect health, young and strong. Always well taken care of at home before he boarded with Dogward bound. When I picked him up, he had white/greenish pus coming out of his eyes. Took him to the vet the next day, he developed conjunctivitis and weighed 8 pounds lighter. This is not the way to care of pets. I trusted this place and the brief interactions with the owner, who basically gave me generic updates. Quite frankly, should’ve stayed away. Not sure where these 5 star ratings are from, but I wouldn’t bring my dog here again.JS.

My dogs love going to see Vinny. I researched 8 boarding places in the Hudson valley before picking Dogwardbound. Their set up and standards are way above the rest! My dogs never come home smelling bad. And they are always happy!! Im a picky poodle owner and Vinny exceeds my expectations. Definitely recommend!

A Co-worker recommenced Vincent about 3 years ago, and since then I never left my baby Luna anywhere else for daycare or boarding. Vincent and his team always made me feel at ease, and they have a way to make Luna feel comfortable. I love how every time I leave Luna at Dogward bound she comes home relaxed and with very soft paws lol. Thanks so much Dogward abound. I have spoken greatly to other about you and will continue. Super happy we found Dogward Bound! Pip yodels with happiness as soon as we pull into the drive - and falls fast asleep as soon as she gets home!!Just about melted my heart when I picked her up one day, and she was outside hanging with Vinnie and his family!Yeah, this place is special.

We have known Vinny and Michelle for the last 7 years! We were referred to Dogwardbound when the facility was located in Hopewell Junction. We had just adopted a 6 month rescue who had moderately severe separation anxiety and destructive to furniture, our wedding album and literally chewing herself out of her crate.Vinny worked tirelessly with us and Shilo to help her overcome her anxiety. In addition to his master training, his daycare and boarding are THE BEST there is. We now have 2 rescues and they love going to “uncle Vinnie’s “. When staff meet us at the gate for drop off, Shilo and bandit can’t wait to get inside to start their staycation!They always come home happy, healthy and tired!!!!The care, cleanliness and love that the staff provides our 4 legged family members is the next best thing to home! Everyone says no one will care for your kids/pets like yourself- well that may be true but Vinny and DogwardboundCome pretty darn close!There is no better place!They get 20+ stars and I refer everyone to Vinny!

Dogward bound is our travel piece of mind. Our hyper fun loving non stop barking dog can never come on vacation with us but he is super loved and trained well at Dogward Bound. His excitement pulling up their long driveway is a sure tell sign that they are the best!!!

We are lucky to have been introduced to Dogward Bound since the past three or so years. We board our pet for a week or more when we go abroad knowing that she will be very well looked after. She returns to us fitter and in good spirits. Highly recommended.

Very professional and timely. They remember my dog, Sadie. She is always excited to stay there. When we ask for a bath before pickup she is a brand new dog mentally and physically! I know they give her quality time! Great establishment! I recommend this place to all I know!

We now live out of state but often come back to NY for misc events (weddings, funerals, etc) that are not always dog friendly. We are so impressed with the care, respect, and treatment Dogward Bound offers that we always choose to board our dog with them as opposed to a local boarding place (even if it means waking up at 6AM on a Saturday to make it in time for their 11AM cut off time).

We have been going to DogwardBound for years and recommend to everyone we know! Not only are they accommodating on every level but caring, kind and I never have a worry! I have an active Dalmatian who needs running room and affection. Ive boarded him a number of times, and will do so in the coming weeks. Vin and his family treat him well and give him the running space and care he needs. I feel very comfortable leaving Pokey with Dogward.

I was very happy every time i went away and had to leave my dogs ar Dogwward Bound. It is a peaceful place like a home away from home and run by a family and all dog lovers.Unfortunately my last trip i needed to separate my dogs as they stopped getting along and there was no space available for them separate so i had to go elsewhere for the first time. One of my dogs got so sick we were in emergency room and drs for 3 weeks.I will never leave them anywhere else again ever

Vincent and Michelle are simply some of the sweetest and kindest people on the planet. Leaving our pups can be stressful but this place is gorgeous and everything is meticulous and you can just sense that Vincent truly loves every single one of his furry customers.

I will start by saying my dog was very happy when I picked him up - he even went back to the male owner almost as a goodbye before we got in the car. The reason for the 3 stars is the way the office is run. I was told I could drop my dog off either in the morning OR afternoon when I made the reservation. I called the morning of the day of drop off to confirm, and the female owner said generically morning hours would be fine. At 950am, I happened to look at the hours posted on Google and saw they closed at 10am but reopen at 4pm. I called in a total panic as I was leaving at 2pm for a flight out of NYC and was met with too bad, no one is in the office. I explained I called earlier that morning and no one said I had to drop him off by 10am. The female owner was very abrasive and short with me and said she was the one who spoke to me a few hours earlier and that she told me the details when I made the reservation 2 months prior. I challenged her and asked if she knew I was a new client, why wouldnt she remind me of the times of dropoff? The question was first met with silence then defensiveness that she tells all new clients the timeframe when the reservation is made. I found my paperwork, and she in fact, did not tell me times of drop off when I booked him. At the time of the reservation, I was specifically told I could bring him morning or afternoon. Further, their small, strange drop off/pickup windows are not listed on their website in any capacity. The drop off times were classified on the phone by the owner as morning or afternoon - leading a client to believe the morning hours last until 11:59am and then youre charged a different rate after 12:00pm. I was almost in tears on the phone since she kept telling me she couldnt help me because she was already away from the office. She kept asking me why a friend or family member couldnt bring him later in the day! It got to the point where I actually had to beg and plead and offer an extra day of payment (over $40 worth) just so that they could keep the office open a mere 20 minutes later so I could bring him in. She didnt budge before I mentioned that. Offering the extra day is what prompted her to look into holding the office open an extra 20 minutes. I reminded her I spoke to her 2 hours prior and there was NEVER a mention of a 10am cutoff for a morning drop off. The male owner is fantastic - he was very calm and actually told me to calm down a few times because I was so stressed when I arrived. I was there exactly at 10:20am and offered to pay the extra day to him as I had to the female owner on the phone. He said absolutely not and didnt end up charging me for it. My dog bonded with him in the 9 day stay and was definitely taken care of and fed appropriately. I will consider using this kennel in the future because of the way my dog reacted to the stay. My review is to warn new clients and suggest you ask MANY questions with the female owner on the phone especially the bizarre hours their office is open for dropping your pup off when it is not appropriately displayed on the website or conveyed to a paying customer months prior nor even the day of drop off.

Our 9 year old Lab seems to come home happy every time we board here.Everyone is so kind and helpful.The grounds are beautiful and very convenient for us.

Vinny and Michelle are absolutely AMAZING! A year ago, I brought my olde English bulldogge, Tyson, to Vinny and I was absolutely at my wits end with him. I was borderline ready to rehome him and my heart was breaking. A client of mine had told me about Vinny and how great and knowledgeable he is....i was a little hesitant as I had already spent thousands of dollars on training for Tyson and I didnt have anymore hope left inside of me. I checked their website and saw that they had a stay and train program, which was priced right, so I was willing to give Tyson with one more chance. I am a single mom and its just my son and I, so my dog was taking a toll on my day to day life. I set up an appt to meet vinny with Tyson and automatically asked him to take him for the stay and train program, no matter the price. Vinny completely understood, and treated me with he utmost respect (the past trainers made me feel horrible, making me feel as if I had the worst dog in the world and there was no chance for him).....instead of agreeing to the stay and train and just taking my money, he suggested daycare at his establishment first to see how he did with that first. Well, his first day with Vinny and he came back a changed dog!!!! Where other trainers and boarders had given up on Tyson, Vinny took his time and helped him, and for that I am grateful! If I ever have any questions about training or general questions, Vinny takes time to explain everything to me and reassure me on certain things, where other trainers would first charge before the questions are even asked. Now, Tyson goes for overnight visits when necessary and as soon as we pull in the driveway, Tyson is scratching at the door to get out and runs up to Vinny with excitement. Vinny always comes right out to greet us and is always waiting by the door for pick up time. There is no waiting. They are always extremely attentive and Tyson comes home exhausted and more obedient than he was the day before. Also, I am not a phone person, so Michelle assured me that an email would suffice for making reservations or for any questions.....not much of an email person as I feel that it takes most businesses forever to respond......Michelle responds to emails right away and is always very sweet and friendly while remaining professional. So, after rambling on now, I just want to say thank you to Vinny and Michelle for giving me peace of mind and for helping to make my household and my dog family happy again!!! You guys were the only ones to turn Tyson around and keep him in his forever home!!!!

Love, love, love! When we go on vacation, we take our Rudy there. He is part of the family. We dont trust just anybody with our baby. Eileen treats Rudy like he is hers.I think she loves him as much as us.

This is the only place we can board our anxious rescue dog. She absolutely loves it, and she comes home exhausted and happy. Cant recommend Dogward Bound enough!

Wonderful people. Great dog care. Plenty of space. Convenient drop off and pickup windows. My separation-anxiety ridden dog happily trots away from me and never looks back. Couldn’t be happier with them.

My girlfriend and I dropped off our 3 year old coon hound for 3 days. They are great there and the dogs have so much space to run around. I recommend this place above others.

You can tell that the people who work here care about your dogs as much as you do. I boarded both of my dogs, and one of them has some behavioral issues so I was a little worried about how he would do, and how they would handle him. When I arrived, a nice guy came and got my dogs, and my dogs tails were wagging and they didnt even look back as they were walking away. When I picked them up, I got a great report for both of my dogs and they were tired and slept on the drive back. You can tell they were not stressed nor anxious and that they had a fun time. I will 100% recommend and I have already. Best place to board if you want to know that your dogs are in good hands!

Weve used them several times to board our pitbull and he absolutely loves it! He isnt the best with other dogs but they still give him plenty of time to run around outside by himself. The property is beautiful and clean. Vince and Michelle are amazing!

Dogward Bound is a great facility run by PROFESSIONALS which isnt always the case in our area. They treat my bulldogs like family and their drop off/pickup service is a godsend! I would highly recommend them for day care and boarding.

I was a nervous reck wondering 3 years ago if our adopted beagle puppy Teddy would be okay with all the big boys! Vinny assured me that he would be fine and he would be there for his transition to doggy daycare!That was as I said 3 years ago and Dogward Bound with Vinny & Michelle and their great staff (thank you Morgan and Mary!) gave given my husband Paul and I assurance and peace of mind (without GUILT!) that our weeks vacations, Teddy is also on his own Retreat! During the nice weather I just bring Teddy just to play & hike...(his doggie daycare!)He cried with excitement going up the driveway! At times Vinny would take off Teddys leash and let him run ahead of him just because he couldnt wait to be (as Vinny says!) with his FRIENDS! Thank you...thank you! Cant wait to see the NEW facility! My dogs cant wait to spend time there. The facility is phenomenal, Dogwoodbound has ruined all other places for us. I would dred moving away and not being able to use them again. Pricing and attention is unmatched. My wife and I recommend them to everyone who is looking. Cant wait to see the new additions.
