Eldridge Park Dog Park

It is a rather small park perfect for picnic and younger kids. They do have mini golf, flyers, and paddle boats for adults. Very clean park that has a nostalgic feel to it, as well as the feeling that it is being brought back to in some form to its glory days.The main attraction is the beautiful carousel. The fastest one in the world. The only drawback for us is they were not operating the brass ring mechanism while we were there.

I wish we had a park like this near home! Perfect-sized park to walk the dogs. The path surrounds a beautiful pond with lots of ducks! Theres a good-sized dog park, amusement park, skate park, and sports fields. We were recently in the area on a mini vacation and someone suggested we check it out and take the dogs. We were not disappointed!

I think this park is a forgotten jewel in the area. The people who help create and maintain it should be celebrated. Its a simple park but has a lot to offer. Even on a cold wintry day....

My parents used to bring my family here in the 60s. It was always fun. It has not changed much and is a pleasure to visit.

Eldridge Park is an amazing place to enjoy life, riding at the skate park to fishing and mini golf and other rides! Great time on a nice day!

My dogs really enjoyed this park but we could only be there for 15 minutes max/day. Too many people bring their reactive dogs here and don’t stop asking how long you’ll be so they can utilize the park without any other dogs inside. That’s not what a dog park is for! It’s not your personal backyard. I recommend using sniffspot while traveling through Elmira instead of coming here- so many more options and you won’t be bothered by anyone else.Also, people bring their elderly dogs in and get mad when dogs try to play with them. Another woman insisted her dogs were extremely friendly, but I thank god there’s a gated entrance because her dogs went into attack mode on mine through the fence.

We were not at the dog park , we used the pond for fishing , it is stocked with trout. The park is all about the children , not a bad place to go . They have a water park and some rides including a miniature golf course . The pond is good fishing kids can enjoy that as well , a nice place.

A park that I have frequented while growing up. It is a great fishing spot as well as a good place to just relax and walk around!

Small, cramped, not much for a dog to engage with. Seems as if the dog park was decided by how many feet of fencing they had rather than making the best use of space available. Lots more room off to the north, west, and south. There is a strange kind of mat under the shade roof that is filthy with animal hair and who knows what else. If you want to see how a dog park can be done right go to Owego, Hickory Park.

I think the dog park idea is wonderful and cute but the doggos need more room to play. This is too small.

This is a minimalist dog park: it’s small, it does have shaded seating, it is near the trail loop around the lake, and both trail and park have doggie bags to pick up after your pet. The view is lovely. I’ve been here twice and both times my very friendly dog could not even enter the park due to vicious dogs trying to attack through the fence and owners unable to control them. The most recent experience had the owner insisting over her snarling and screaming dog that he was friendly. I suggest an additional rule, that unless dogs are obediently under control they should limit them to leashed walks around the lake. I cannot recommend the park but can recommend the lake trail.

My dog prefers slower introductions and is great at dog parks as long as he gets to sniff through the fence first. The people that started the dog park were there and were telling me to just let him in and that he needed to be off leash before we even got into the park. I explained he’s friendly but doesn’t like introductions that are up in his face so he meets through the fence before then. They yelled at us and kept telling us we couldn’t come in if my dog wasn’t going to be allowed to be a dog. Very rude people. We left and my dog didn’t get to have fun. Very disappointing.

In all honesty, the location is awesome because of the pond and the ambiance. A lot of people walk by and they are very friendly. People love to interact with the dogs as they walk by, and of course the dogs love the attention. The people and dogs that attend the park are phenomenal and super nice.. At the same time this is a rating of the park itself. In my opinion it is way too small, especially for dogs that like to run. If the park was bigger and had more interactive things such as obstacles this would be a 5 star location. But given that this city doesnt really have much for dogs in general it is a great place to relax, people watch, and of course enjoy the company of amazing animals.

Absolutely love bringing our dog here to run. She always makes new friends. Last time we were there though no running water, so bring water for your dogs when you come.

I love the conveniene and serenity that Eldridge Park has to offer. 😀 It is roughly maybe about 21 mins from my house. I also really like that there are multiple entrances to the park, so you can decide which part of it you want to pull into. There is parking on 3 sides of it. I love that in sunny days, there is a shady part on the quieter part of the park. You can walk around the pond, take in nature and admire the cute & feathery birds that live there and make it their home lol. The geese arent afraid of any of the humans. They love to just walk right across the path and have you stare at them lol. On the other side, you get the pleasure of enjoying a beautiful carousel ride, see little kiddies enjoying their little rides next door, play on the little playground, ride the 2 carnival style rides for all ages, eat a wide variety of yummy foods inside the food building, or learn about Elmiras history as you walk towards the mini golf area to play putt putt. You can also take in the all around views of the park and ride character boats and paddle around the pond! You can either ride by yourself or ride with a friend or two! In the summer, they also have concerts, food trucks and family fun Thursday nights all throughout 😀. Certainly a place that people of all ages can enjoy thats close to home!! My husband gets tickets/wristbands to the park at times so I love taking our 2 year old daughter and making it a family fun day/time 🥰

Beautiful park but the water is disgusting. Dead fish all along the bank trash in the water you can tell its polluted. Its a shame because its a really nice park. But its not well kept

A nice park with a lake. Lake is rather on the small side. fishing in here at times can be good they stock it with trout in the springtime. Theres also a small amusement park Skate Park for skateboards. And a miniature golf course. Clean neat and safe

This park is in the larger Eldridge Park. It was difficult to find as there are no signs for it, but if you take the first left after going under the park sign archway, park near the ball field then walk past it and the dog park is behind that. It was small and needed a mowing. I didnt see any waste on the ground, though Im not sure if thats due to responsible owners, or noone being able to find the park. It had two nice big benches that were covered and it was right near the lake which made for some nice duck/geese watching.

I dont actually own a dog anymore but I walk at Eldridge Park regularly. The way they have the dog park setup is quite nice with two separate Gates so that a dog cant get away and run off. Its equipped with a pavilion for human beings to sit down and enjoy the shade. The dogs always look very happy when I go by

Some owners have aggressive dogs and will tell you if youre dogs come in mine will attack yours

On a perfect spring or fall day, where the air is cool but not cold, Eldridge Park is the perfect date spot. It is not a dog park. There is a park for dogs within the park but it is to be our local amusement park complete with roller coaster and carousel! There used to be a center stage and plenty of picnic pavilions. Though all if that is gone, the park is still beautiful with things to do. There is a mini golf area, the aforementioned dog park, baseball field, soccer field, picnic tables though not protected by pavilions, and they even brought back the carousel! Lots to see and do here, especially on the fourth of July! Beautiful fireworks every year!

We had a nice walk! Its clean and we will be enjoying walks there frequently. Its great to see our park coming back to be a community venue to relax. Looking forward to going when its open as we were there in off hours. Cheets.

Beautiful place and very nice dog park. Few rules to abide by, but the dogs who have been coming there before welcomed mine very nicely. The ducks are adorable as you walk around the pond.

I enjoy walking around the lake even with the geese and the ducks. Watching the the gosling and ducklings growing is very enjoyable especially for my 4 yr. old granddaughter.

This park is spectacular. It is so picturesque and peaceful. It has a lifetime of memories and is good for our souls!

Nice place to take dogs of many kinds, not a lot of aggressive dogs, usually puppies/ younger playful dogs and older calm dogs. Just be careful of birds and such!

The dog park was small and had lots of bees play ground small no swings

Theyve come a very long way over the years, wish the youth Bureau would use it more as ways to get some of the troubled youth involved in the community and help with giving them a push in the right direction as well as lower costs for bigger families as there isnt much in this town as it is.Update:2022 - Post Covid:Labor day weekend,. Great turn out. Wink was there. A band played, local kinda thing but it seemed there were the most people Id seen here since I was a kid and the roller coaster and theme park was there. Im super happy to see it coming back like this, the town really needs it. Theres nothing literally anymore to be any type of real attractions. I hope that they can put more into it andake it a good spot again.

Great place to walk and clear the head. Excellent place to eat lunch and look at the water. Also, a great skate park with even better street art. Definitely would recommend to anyone of any age, kids or not.

Eldridge park has a small amount of amusement ride. It also has paddle boats you can ride on. There is a small play ground for children and there are walking trails. There is also a skate park which allows skate boarding, roller blading, or bmx. Town should expand the skate park and fix the playground. If they did these things I would up the rating to 5 *.

Nice park for elmira. Pet friendly with a dog park. Plenty of parking, Frisbee golf or disc golf, miniature golf and ride attractions. Its all pretty cheap

This park is beautiful and fun and your children will not only have fun but learn a little of the history of the park .The season for rides is over right now but there is a dog park, a place to walk or ride bikes.There is fishing and a skate park.Thanks Elmira Good Job

The best local dog park, with a recent upgrade by the Eagle Scout Gavin Shoemaker. It is in good condition and houses a lot of kind dog lovers.

They have done so much to better this place and enhance your experience. Perfect family spot. And I love taking the dogs with us to walk around the water. Everyone enjoys

Its a nice park to walk around the lake, maybe even play a game of mini golf. When they dont have events theres not alot to do otherwise but its a nice small park to visit once in a while

My family was visiting from California/Colorado/Pennsylvania so we went to ride the carousel. It was very nostalgic for us since the 4 families hadnt been together in Elmira for over 10 years. We had a great time riding the carousel. We wish we could have enjoyed more. We were there after lunch and the paddle boats werent open. A few of the arcade games werent working. Skee roll is my sons favorite game. He has DownSyndrome and has a visual impairment. He had his heart set on playing and the game wasnt working. We left disappointed but later enjoyed the great pictures taken on the carousel.

Wish the ride part was still open, but still a beautiful spot to go for a walk, take kids to play around, also small dog park but still nice to bring dog/s to.

Big enough for a number of dogs, and pretty clean. We dont often go in, we normally walk around the lake, but seems pretty nice overall.

Nice Park! In the summer, music Saturday evenings. There is miniature golf, carousel rides ice cream a snack bar, but beware of the bird poo!

There is no division between the large and small dogs. A covered area is provided with benches for the humans. Alot could be done to improve the park. There is enough room for enlargement and division. There is a hose but no faucet.

The rides are nice but way too spendy...they need to have a unlimited band or season pass. Wheelchair accessible rides would be nice.

The geese make it difficult to walk around the lake because of the feces that you have to try to avoid. You are constantly looking down while you walk. Its not enjoyable.

Was there for a softball fundraiser, the park did not seem to well kept. The main bathrooms didnt open until 12 noon, and were the only bathrooms that opened

People not nice, rude..they should control their dogs instead of sitting like a bunch of soccer moms and letting their dogs trying to hump ours like it was ok.!Will never go back

Walked by this many times when visiting Eldridge Park. It is on the south side of the park by the softball field and parking lot by the south entrance.

This isnt a dog park its a fenced off dirt patch the city of Elmira is trying to call a dog park. Like who would even take their dog there is beyond me.

Very nice place. I havent been here in about 25 years. I went to see the moving wall. If you go its easier if you take the fields road for parking as its closer to the wall.

I dont have a dog, but if you walk the pond loop youll go by the dog park on the south side of the main park. Always has someone in the fenced enclosure using the area. Pavilion in the fenced area too.

The dog park is very small and there is no way to separate small dogs from big dogs. I never felt comfortable bringing my puppy here, as soon as large logs came we left.
