I’ve been bringing my dog to this clinic for years, and the vet Dr. Cohen has always been wonderful—kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. Unfortunately, my experiences with the receptionist multiple times, who I believe is named Amanda (she has colorful hair) has made me unable to return. She is incredibly rude and dismissive, and her attitude completely overshadowed the positive experience with the vet. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a veterinary office, and it was enough to make me look for a new clinic. It’s a shame because Dr.Cohen is great, but I simply can’t continue to bring my dog here with that level of disrespect from staff especially when it comes to something as important as my pet.

I trusted Dr.Cohen and Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic for all of my husky Cobys health needs from the time of our first visit. Unfortunately Coby crossed the Rainbow Bridge last year but Dr. Cohen and his staff were always wonderful with him. He lived a pretty long life for a husky (14 years) and when the time comes to welcome another pet into my life I would definitely use Dr. Cohen again. Thank you to the staff and Dr. Cohen for all the years that they took care of Coby.

Thank you to Dr. Cohen and the staff for their excellent care of my cat, Cali, during his recent dental cleaning. I was quite stressed about the procedure, particularly because it involved anesthesia. However, the kindness and attentiveness of Dr. Cohen and the staff eased my worries significantly. They promptly called me after the cleaning to update me on Calis condition and informed me of the pickup time. Additionally, the service was punctual, and the cost was reasonable and much more affordable compared to other clinics in the city. I am extremely grateful for the exceptional service and am confident that I will become a loyal customer. Thank you!

Dr. Cohen and his staff have always, for the past ten years, provided our several cat babies with the very best of care. Dr. Cohen is a consummate professional who is always responsive and caring. I recommend him highly and appreciate his efforts on our pets behalf.

I have been going to this clinic for 4 years and both the front desk staff/ Nurses and Dr. Cohen have always been so kind and caring to my fur babies since day one. He is patient and answers all my questions thoughtfully. They treat my babies with love & care and I trust them. I have a very anxious dog who trembles and sweats profusely as soon as we enter the front door, and the staff is always so comforting and patient with him. I highly recommend this clinic!

I stay close to this place but the attitude of the receptionist is why I immediately changed , it’s been almost 3 years now. If I am being treated that way, imagine people who don’t have patience with fur babies, they can’t speak ,It was one of the best decisions to change, as we met one of the best Vets at another place. 30 Minutes drive but it doesn’t affect me AT ALLAs my fur baby is in better hands and I live the front office receptionist, so so welcoming.

Amazing staff. My dog Gizmo loves them all. They are so caring and compassionate for their clients. My dog is happy to see the Doctor because of his gentle caring treatment. Definitely one of the best Vets.

My Luna had her appointment with Dr. Cohen on July 21st at 12:30, even though they were a little back up, I understood why. They are thorough with each individual’s pets and they love your pets as much as you love your pets. They do explain what to do at home with your pets. They explained that Luna is in great shape however he suggested to use dental chews and additives to put in Luna’s water, which I already use the water additive. Thank you Dr. Cohen and his team for how you treated me and my nervous Luna. See ya on our next visit.

My 5-year old Australian Shepherd has been under the care of Dr. Cohen since I’ve had him as an 8-week old puppy. Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic has always been kind, courteous, and always professional when dealing with my dogs needs. They’ve always been able to accommodate any requests we’ve had and I couldn’t recommend them enough. The area is quiet and parking is a breeze. The medical assistants are warm and welcoming as well. The email reminders for any upcoming periodic vaccinations are also very helpful. If you’re in need of a new vet, I’d recommend you consider this animal clinic.

I’m not one to write reviews generally, but my experience at FMAC was above and beyond just good…Dr. Cohen did everything he could for my cat who was sadly in the end stages of her life. He didn’t just jump to euthanasia or brush me off and send me home with a huge bill like many other clinics have done in the past. His staff cannot even be called techs or nurses, they are LITERAL angels. The compassion I was shown by all the staff, but quite especially Amanda. She was so kind and comforting during such an awful time, I never felt rushed or like I was a burden spending time with my cat. She even wrote me a letter when I picked up my cats ashes that moved me to tears. I’m truly grateful that in Libby’s last moments, she had a team so caring and compassionate. Seriously, I’ve never even felt the kind of warmth shown here at human hospitals! Thank you all so much for doing everything you could for my sweet Libby.

Noodles had first visit here today. We had a wonderful experience. I have been a pet owner my whole life, so I have dealt with many vets. Many, not great. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who is looking for a new place. Everyone is super friendly and caring. You can tell they love animals and what the best for them. They do only what is necessary and dont make you do a million test to make extra money. Thank you for treating Noodles with such care. We will definitely be back! You can bet we will bark about it to all our four legged friends! 🐶

Jeremy Cohen, the main vet at this clinic, is the most incompetent vet I have ever met in my life. I completely DO NOT recommend him. My dog was vomiting and dehydrated but Dr. Cohen did not inform me on a proper course of action to take to help my pet. He stood by and basically said nothing to help my dog. He did not recommend any treatment to solve this issue when he could have advised me more strongly on what my pet needs. My dog has sadly passed away now and I blame Dr. Cohen for misleading me and wasting my time when I could have brought my dog elsewhere and maybe save him in time. He is 100% a scammer who will take your money without helping your pet in the slightest.

The vet and staffs are reliable. Especially, Dr. Cohen is strait forward to the point. I and my dog dont go there to be socialized. I want someone knowledgeable and experienced. This clinic really suits all my needs. Quick follow ups, reasonably priced and time punctual. My only concern is that It is a one doc clinic. For regular check ups, I can wait. But if it is an emergency, it should be tough to get in.

I called in for an estimate on spaying, front desk rep let me know Id have to come in first for a visit which I was ok with. Started booking, she let me know there was a 40$ deposit and me, not having my credit card on me, I mention id have to call right back. She doesnt even respond, hangs up the phone without even letting me finish the sentence......

Couldnt recommend a vet more. we saw dr cohen and amanda who listened to every concern we had and then made a diet plan for my cat who needs to lose two pounds. I am deeply appreciative of the care and consideration they took and how gentle they were on our cat. They also are really fairly priced compared to all other vets weve been to in the area. So glad to have found our primary vet finally after kissing a lot of toads.

Terrible attitude by the receptionist. Judging from many other past reviews, this seems to be a common trend with a few exceptions. I simply asked a very general question over the phone and off the bat, the receptionist came back with a very condescending tone (could almost hear the eye roll over the phone lol). I know I didnt ask anything outrageous since I called 3 other vet clinics before, asking the same question and they were all very kind and courteous replying to the same exact question. (I called at noon on 9/17)I know some vet receptionists are dealing with calls nonstop but.. at the end of the day youre a client service, no? If they cant respond with some modicum of politeness for a simple, general question, can you imagine how theyd treat you and your pet when theres an actual emergency? Im surprised they dont train their staff better given most clinics out there are having trouble competing against the onslaught of VC & PE backed vet clinic chains that offer fancier services w nicer facilities..UPDATE to the doctors reply: Sigh... the negative review is NOT to do with the context (the fact that you couldnt give me an estimate over the phone, some other clinics said the same thing). The review was due to the WAY your receptionist conveyed the exact message you typed out in your reply.Let me make it super clear.... a person can say the same word, for instance, Thank you! in either the nicest way, or the haughtiest way ever. What you say, the words, the context, in most cases, doesnt matter as much as HOW you say it. The way the communication is dealt with, can alleviate and mitigate even the worst news to customers. (and for a place that deals with difficult situations, presumably very frequently due to sick or dying pets, it is telling, that your receptionist, the voice and frontline face of your operation cant wrap this concept around her head, and has clearly explained away my negative review to you as its the fault of the customer, there wasnt anything I could do, she just wasnt happy that i told her we dont give estimates ).Your receptionist explained what you typed out, pretty much the same words, sure. The problem was in the WAY she communicated the exact same context, with clear annoyance, condescension and attitude oozing through her tone and curtness. I felt like I was getting a lecture from an annoyed, angry teacher telling off a pupil, as she explained why you guys dont give estimates.The fact that you dont understand this simple fact, and did not even imply that you will try to re-train your receptionist or staff speaks volumes about your approach to customer service and the trickle down effect that that has to overall operations.PS. I merely mentioned the other VC funded vet clinics because I volunteer at vet clinics, actually, and may vets mention worrying about competition, and its hard to compete when they have more ammo in the bank. Hence, Im curious why you dont want to try to fix the easiest of things to tackle like improving your staffs attitude and demeanor? (Costs zero vs trying to change pricing or what you offer).I also dog sit for many dogs and many of my pet owners are switching to these fancy clinics because of ease and niceties they offer. And guess what? Even if the vets experiences or abilities may not compare, as im sure they dont (and I only know that bc Ive volunteered at long-standing vet clinics in Manhattan) they for sure have their customer service staff trained to a tee, which is why they keep attracting the newer pet owners out there, bc at the end of the day, when you first look for a vet clinic as a new pet owner, you really cant tell the difference btwn all the vets expertises out there. All youre going for initially is the routine vaccines and the inevitable giardia issues a new pup gets, and the care you get for that is dime a dozen. At which point, what ends up mattering, is how theyre treated by receptionists upfront, and thus, the small interactions such as, attitude over the phone matters. Hope THATs clearer.

Dr Cohen and his staff are so nice, caring and friendly! As soon as I walked in with Charmy who was a nervous wreck, the vet techs all showered her with love and made her feel comfortable and it made me so happy! First time client and I highly recommend this clinic!!

Dr. Cohen is personable and professional. His staff is friendly and responsive. My dog has not had any serious health issues. Dr. Cohen has been responsive and helpful to all her minor health issues and has been instrumental in keeping her safe and strong with preventative care.

I took my dog to this vet because of positive word of mouth. While walking by one day with my other dog going to the park at least 3 people stopped me and mentioned how great this vet is. So I took my 9yr old skittish yorkie for an annual check up. I got a free visit for the first visit and the price for a blood test and shots were reasonable. Dr Cohen was very patient with my anxious dog and took care of him as quick as possible. Ill be back to this vet definitely.Update 9/2022- I continued taking my Buddy here until this year when he passed unfortunately. Their prices didn’t go up as much as other vets that I go to. I wish they had more weekend availability because I really like this vet but hard to make appointments. I like this vet office and might bring my puppy.

We bring our 9 year old shihtzu here to see Dr. Cohen. Our dog has had two other vets in the past ( one in NYC, and the other vet had retired), but we very much prefer Dr. Cohen. Hes very knowledgeable, and gives us all the options for our dogs care. I like the fact that he asks us first before administering any shots to our dog, and explains what it is for. Most vets dont even do that, and just go right ahead and pump your dog with drugs and THEN hand you the $$$ bill afterwards. Would you just take any medicine your doctor gives you without asking any questions first? So why would your pet be any different. The staff is also very friendly and caring. Dr. Cohen has a very good bedside manner, both to the human owners and the animals. Would highly recommend.

This clinic definitely left a great first impression. My puppy and I were greeted by the friendliest staff, made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The clinic is small but I can see why it is so busy and highly recommended by others. The doctor and tech were amazing, my 6 month old corgi melted right into their arms as he was getting examined. Overall so happy about my experience as a first timer and would definitely recommend to other pet owners

I love this clinic , the whole entire team is excellent, kind , compassionate. They really love and take great care of the animals as if they were there own.

My kitty cat and I love Dr. Cohen and his staff. They are very sweet to her even though she can be a meanie (actually they know how to prevent her from being mean). He helped me get her weight down to a healthy place, and he keeps me informed about preventing problems as she gets older. When she had a visit during the pandemic, I was very sad I couldnt go in with her, but appreciative of how careful the office is being to protect animals and humans alike.

I brought my two newly adopted kittens for a checkup and vaccines. Dr. Cohen and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. My kittens were well taken care of and Dr. Cohen spent a lot of time answering my questions about their feeding, etc. I would highly recommend Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic to friends and family!

Great place with great prices. Dr. Cohen and his staff are professional and caring with your pets. I’ve brought my Bichon Frise Crissy here for a couple of years where she’s had spaying done, dental cleanings and dental extractions, along with xrays and general check ups and everything has gone smoothly. Dr. Cohen recommends only tests that are needed, and does not try to empty your wallet. Would not trust any other Vet with my dogs care. Thank you Dr. Cohen and the FMAC staff!

I had a wonderful experience at Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic. The staff was very friendly, and Dr. Jeremy Cohen is very knowledgeable at what he does and really cares about the animals which to me is very important. Dr. Cohen pointed out a few things that he noticed with my dog that my previous vet did not. That is why I decided to change vets and continue seeing Dr. Cohen. My previous vet was 5 min away from me now my new vet (Dr. Cohen) is 25min away but well worth the travel for my little guy. I highly recommend Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic

I moved from Florida to NY about two years ago and I could not find a vet that would see my dog within a reasonable price range. My mother-in-law recommended this vet and I am glad she did. Everyone took their time to talk to me and get to know Bentley, my dog. The vet was thorough and explained everything to me. He answered every question I had, ridiculous or not and eased every concern I brought up. I am so glad I was able to get in and have my dog looked at. I had an emergency with Bentley and called them, they booked me the following day.

The staff there are very nice with me and Roxy my Cat. And also the the vet is good. He let me know that Roxy good health. I’m little behind with health check up. But I look forward to take her there very soon. Thank you.

My dog began limping after being out in the yard. Not sure how he got hurt but was recommended by my neighbor & friend to go to Fresh Meadows Clinic. I took her advice & was very happy I did. Vet was very gentle and very nice and treated my dog gently & professionally as did the staff working with him. The office was clean as was the exam room . Staff immediately mopped up any accidents our pets had. Was very please with professionalism. I recommend them to anyone especially in the Fresh Meadow, Oakland Gardrn & Bayside area. Your furbaby will be in good hands.

Ive taken all of my cats to Fresh Meadows. Dr. Cohen is thorough, caring, and always outlines my options if any follow-up is required. Great place.

I took my Chinese-Sharpei here and they gave me amazing antibiotics for his terrible dermatitis. He has been taking them for three weeks now and his skin has cleared up and hes not scratching like he used to. The doctor is also very specific he explains everything step by step.

Had used these guys before so I brought in a kitten we found the other day. Very friendly place, the prices are within reason and the doctors and assistants are awesome. The place is small but they seem very competent and I think thats what counts at the end of the day.

Great clinic, easy to schedule appointment, professional and knowledgeable staff.Never hesitate to bring my cat for treatment.

Dr. Cohen and his staff are all so kind and thoughtful. I never felt pressured to add on services like in other vet offices and his prices are very very fair. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Cohen always stayed truthful about his prognosis and possible treatment options. If I ever become a dog owner again, we will come back to the care of this clinic.

Best place ever. There are all very friendly the doctor definitely accommodated me and my dog. Was very informative and explained all the had to be done for him. the receptionist is very nice and spoke to my dog like he was her own. the Nurses also showed my dog a lot of attention and love, making my dog feel more comfortable. Definitely my go to vet!

We have been taking all of our animals to Dr. Cohen since he took over the practice. He is clearly an experienced veterinarian. I like the fact that he always works to exhaust more conservative approaches before delving into expensive procedures. His office is convenient is very convenient and by appointment only. At times the office can be quite crowded, especially on a Saturday, so if it is not an emergency it is best to make an appointment at what may be a less crowded time. This is a common issue with any doctor/practice where the Doctor insists on seeing every patient. The office will always try to squeeze me in for emergencies but he is not a 24 hour emergency hospital and will refer to specialists when needed. Dr. Cohen has done an excellent job of picking qualified, knowledgeable and kind vet techs. This is very important for I often have extra questions to ask after our appointments. I love how everything is so streamlined and I can get information regarding my pets in many ways..email/phone. We are very pleased to have a local vet we can trust. Dr. Cohen has built himself and wonderful community practice and the reviews reflect his hard work and commitment. Thank you Dr. Cohen and staff...Job well done:)

I had my baby spayed last Wednesday and she has been recovering really well. I would like to say thank you to Doctor Cohen and the whole staff, you are all superstars!!! Special mention to Ashley whos been so patient answering all my post op questions. Everyone seems super loving towards Kookie, they handled her fabulously. I really felt we were in good hands. Dr. Cohen is a knowledgeable and exceptional vet who has been taking care of my golden retrievers and 2 cats for the past 8 years. I trust his judgment and advice. He is easy to talk to, informative, caring and his staff make you fell comfortable. I have recommended him to many of my friends and family, without hesitation, and they all love him.

The staff at the veterinary clinic are really attentive and friendly towards my cat, and they do a great job of explaining whats going on in a way thats easy to understand. Plus, you wont have to wait around too long to see the vet!

I have been going to Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic for the past 8 years. They’re the ONLY place I trust bringing my chihuahua Rocky to. I appreciate how patient they are with him knowing that he can get feisty at his visits. With the new COVID procedures I can’t always be in the room with Rocky but I can hear the loving words they say to Rocky to get him through his appointments when I’m sitting in the waiting area. My whole family loves this clinic and I’m so fortunate to have them be part of the neighborhood. Each person in the office is professional and are always clear in explaining a procedure, vaccine or any follow up care. I always suggest to call for appointments. It’s the quickest way to get someone and sometimes last minute appointments pop up! Don’t hesitate to bring your pet here. You won’t regret it :)

A wonderful veterinary practice; Dr. Cohen and his team are knowledgeable, empathetic, gentle and has a great bedside manner to calm frisky kitty. Close to home, lots of parking places, and very reasonable pricing for quality vet care. Best of all you can tell everyone truly loves and cares for animals.

The vet and staff are very nice. My dog Bandit can be a little difficult but they are patient with him. They address all of my concerns and questions. Front desk is always super nice when I call to schedule or reschedule Bandit’s appointments. During Covid it was a little difficult getting appointments but now it’s super easy. They accommodate very well. They are very kind, caring, and helpful.

This is a fantastic Animal Clinic. We bring our 2 cats and dog here for their annuals and other urgent or medical needs. The staff is welcoming and the service is prompt. Being able to walk-in and see the doctor when something unexpected happens and have a minimal wait is a plus.Dr. Cohen is very thorough and listens to the owners concerns. He explains any issues that might be a cause for concern and is good with follow-up for any tests that are performed.Prices are very reasonable for all types of services. The facility is clean and well kept.If youre looking for a vet in Queens, this is the place to go.Still our preferred vet after all these years. Even after moving out of Queens

I called in and like any another vet they ask if it’s not an emergency can they place you on hold. I wasn’t calling for information nor have I ever even been here. I was strictly calling to confirm yes or no if they offer spaying as I’m going down a list of vets. Instead of the receptionist being a normal human and saying yes or no, her response was (verbatim): Okay so this is not a medical emergency yes or no. I hung up and couldn’t have crossed this vet off my list faster.I’m not sure about you, but that’s a lot more words spoken than a simple yes or no, we do not. I’m new to NY and was looking for a new vet for both my dogs. Based off this experience, Fresh Meadows vet is OUT of the question. I’ll also never take my 3 cats here. If I can’t trust a place of business to conduct with a little respect and being polite, I definitely wouldn’t trust my dogs livelihood in their hands. Just plain RUDE.

I am quite sure all the good reviews are legit. I don’t generally write reviews , but I felt compelled based on the last couple of negative reviews... My dog’s old vet was in manhattan and I was looking for a vet closer to home, that didn’t charge the equivalent of rent each visit. (I will spend anything on my dog’s health, but is nice not to have to) After meeting with 4 different vets, I found Dr. Cohen. I have been bringing my dog there ever since, for over two years now and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Cohen and his staff are knowledgeable, patient, kind and genuinely care about the health and well being of your pet and by extension you. They do not do anything without your understanding, they take their time to explain everything, do not rush appointments and listen to all your concerns. My dog is almost 15 years old, she is tiny and fragile at 2.5lbs, though she is unaware of this. Despite her size, she is not the easiest patient, she fights and squirms and is terrible with strangers. Megan has been present at almost every appointment my dog has ever had, including the one where they diagnosed heart failure and because of them, their quick diagnosis and the fact that they fit me in that day, we were able to save my girl. I will never not be grateful for Megan for how she took care of my girl, she is gentle, caring and careful. The other nurses, Angela and one whose name escapes me, are equally wonderful with my dog, Ty the receptionist is also so sweet. Occasionally, we have seen the other vets who work in the practice and they are equally thoughtful and competent. My dog is my baby, and I trust Dr. Cohen, Megan and the rest of his staff implicitly.

Dr. Cohen is excellent. I have been taking my dog here since we first rescued her about 2 years ago. Kindness, patience, skill and experience - essentially everything you want in a vet, you will find here.They generally run the schedule pretty well, I never have to wait long (with an appointment.) In an emergency, you can reach them after hours. Its also very easy to park here.

My dog ABSOLUTELY loves this VET and staff. He has been going there since 2018 and we continued to use them even when we moved from Queens. The prices are affordable which is a major plus and the staff is accommodating and loving. My dog also got neutered here and it was a great experience.

One star is simply for the receptionist answering the phone on Friday mornings. I specifically asked her if the vet can see one of my dogs today because she needs medical attention. Lady puts me on a hold just to get back to me with a date in mid-March. Does she think shes being funny? I decided to give this place a chance after seeing the positive reviews and am sure the vet himself is fine. But hiring kind and competent receptionists who also care for animals is a big green flag for me to make a vet a permanent vet for my dogs and this place was just not it.Update: 2/25 after seeing the vets reply.You can say theres a shortage but I easily found another small clinic vet practitioner who was able to see my dog immediately after hearing she needed medical attention. You can try to make excuses but the way I was spoken to by the receptionist was more than enough for me to stay away from this office.

I’ve gone to see Dr. Cohen here a hand full of times for my puppy’s initial usual visits and he is incredibly helpful. He’s kind to my dog and has been really responsive via email whenever I have a question or concern. The staff is always so sweet to my Mia!! Unfortunately, we moved out of Queens so the trip is too far but otherwise I would absolutely stick with Dr. Cohen. They truly care for the animals so I definitely recommend going to them for your loved ones!

It saddens me to see people like Jeremey Cohen be a vet. He is unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. His staff is the same as well. My pet’s death is on him due to his lack of veterinary knowledge and his main goal of squeezing every last penny he can make out of my pet’s sickness. He took advantage of me and my family by recommending false treatments to my dog that resulted in nothing but my dog’s death. This veterinary clinic is greedy and I regret deeply taking my dog here. I spent hundreds of dollars here only to be told the most basic things about my dog’s health with vague advice on what to do. It’s only until I paid him more that he suggested all kinds of expensive tests and surgeries that made no sense in the treatment of my dog’s illness. They just wanted to milk all my money out of me with no results to show for. Please don’t take your pet here. Go somewhere where they’ll genuinely try to help your pet get better.

Dr. Cohen has been providing excellent care for our dog Axel for almost 4 years. Dr. Cohen is compassionate (to pets & owners), knowledgeable, possesses true passion for animals, responsive and most importantly trustworthy. We always feel special when we see him and we never feel rushed during our appointments. He always makes time to answer our questions or concerns which makes us feel at ease. We highly recommend Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic, its the best in the area!

Weve taken our 60 lb Golden to Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic around 5 times and always come away extremely happy. Jeremy is energetic and works so well with our dog. We actually travel from Syosset to this clinic, and we highly recommend!

I had originally given this clinic 5 stars because I had received amazing service for the past 3 years, and Dr. Cohen has been one of the best vets I’ve had for a pet. However, the quality of service has dramatically changed since COVID and I had to change my review.I took my dog for her annual exam last month and suspected she had an ear infection and brought it to the staff’s attention, the concern was disregarded and i was told the dog was fine. I had to bring my dog back this month because she wasn’t feeling well and was told she had an ear infection which would’ve been treated had my concern last month been taken into account for a further ear check.In addition, they try to get you to order from their pharmacy by making it very difficult to get a prescription filled at external pharmacies due to their lack of responsiveness when contacted by the pharmacy. The front desk told me to call the pharmacy (who I had just gotten off the phone with) back and ask them to call Dr. Cohen’s office (which the pharmacy had literally just done and left the office a call back message) because the front desk couldn’t be bothered with returning the pharmacy’s call so my dog’s prescription could get approved.

Dr. Cohen is one of the best vets I have ever been to. He’s never over charges for anything also a great listener. Also the staffs are very nice as well. My dog is really comfortable with them when he’s in the exam room. I’ve been to 2 vets and wasn’t happy with them. I highly recommend this place. You will never regret coming here.

My 9 year old dachshund and 6 months old kitten go to Fresh Meadows clinic for everything from annual check up to emergency situations. The staffs are really kind and they explain clearly to you whenever you have questions. Doctors are super nice too. I strongly recommend this clinic to my friends if they ever need to see doctors for their pets. My Rai and kiwi thank them dearly every time we visit. We visited for vaccines, blood work and dental work during COVID-19, but I felt very safe so don’t worry!

Brought 2 kittens for examination Bully and Rocky. They were greeted very warmly by the staff. Doctor Cohen gave each one a thorough look over prescribed their medication. No muss no fuss. Very professional. Am glad to report the kittens are back 100%. Thanks doc. Vaxinations are next

Dr. Cohen is a very good Doctor. I like the way he explained things to me in detail about my cat Momo. He always cares and gives me advices as to what is the best for my fur baby. The staffs are very friendly, and always greets you with smiles as soon as they see you. They even squeezed my baby Momo with their tight schedule when she had an emergency! The fees are very reasonable and affordable, much better than other clinics that I have been through.Dr. Cohen is one of the best Doctors. Always a positive experience. Im actually ashamed to say that I was feeding my cat junk food daily and took Dr. Cohens advice to switch to a higher quality diet. We spoke about different options and I was surprised to learn that the quality food for cats wasnt much more expensive. We did a follow up a few weeks afterwards. His vomiting and diarrhea subsided and he became way more playful.I also really appreciate the emails regarding any issues after we take him for his annual. My impression is that most pets dont like going to vet and so most of my cats follow ups via email is a really nice touch.I should add though, I have not visited the office since the pandemic began so I cant write about the new safety policies or procedures now but my cat is due for a checkup in a few weeks and I would not hesitate to schedule an appointment with Dr. Cohen.

I brought my yorkie to see doctor Cohen, I was very pleased with the office how clean and fresh smelling it was. Everyone was very friendly, and we didnt have to wait long. Doctor Cohen was excellent in hes treatment of shadow whose 14 years old. No problem getting an apointment right away. I found everyone to be very compassionate. Highly recommend this office.

Today was our first time at Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic and we were overwhelmed with how accommodating and friendly everyone is! Every single person made my skittish dog feel welcome. Prices are very reasonable and the vet confirms every little thing before doing any work so you’re never charged more than what you agree to. I’m so glad this clinic is close to home because I don’t want to go anywhere else. We’re scheduling to go in for a follow up and all the worries I initially had about moving to a new vet clinic are gone. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome!!

I have taken my jack Russell twice as he has been vomiting every morning nonstop. The vet has done both an x-ray and regular tests but supposedly “he is fine”. How can he be fine if he continues to vomit every morning?? Not only that, I took him to the vet two weeks ago, and he never sent over his prescription. I was recommended here by a good friend, but wow terrible service and lack of professionalism from the vet.I continue to spend money to find a solution to his vomiting. I think it is easier for me to get billed then for my poor dog to get good treatment. I want my money back!!

The team at Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic helped to save my baby girls life. My 11 year old cat had fluid in her lungs and around her heart and Dr. Cohen was able to drain the fluid and stabilize her in 30 minutes. The day before the hospital gave us no hope of saving her but the doctor at the hospital said to take her to a veterinarian and see what could be done. I found Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic online that night and my sister rushed her there the next day. They did not give up on my sweet girl and made this past Mothers Day the best ever! I cannot thank them enough for their care, concern, kindness and tenacity in treating fur babies. They just never give up hope and as a breast cancer survivor going through a recurrence, I truly appreciate the value they place on life and the importance of maintaining hope. They were honest and encouraging. I urge you to give them a try, especially if you want to receive exceptional care for your fur baby and go to the best clinic in the NYC five boroughs! When you call someone to confirm an appointment you should give them a heads up and let them know that if they don’t confirm their you will cancel their appointment. I have been waiting for almost a month for this appointment and to be called that my appointment was cancelled was not fair at all.I will also like to clarify that I did not receive an email to confirm my appointment and only received one call this week to remind me about my appointment and to confirm. If someone calls to make an appointment it’s because they will be present that day for the check up not to waste a vets time.And the only reason you called to “squeeze me in” is because you saw my review.

I gave 3-stars because I did not have an opportunity to discuss my 2-pets condition with Dr. Cohen during my last visit in February 2021. I got the appointment after waiting for approx 1-month. Also I wish to point out that I wish Dr. Cohen had more customer friendly support staff at the reception. I say this because, my original appointment fixed for February 2021 was cancelled and rescheduled to a week later. Before I could ask the reason for re-scheduling after waiting for so long, the receptionist or whoever that called abruptly cut me off the line and did not even re-confirm the new appointment. I had to call. While I understand that Dr. Cohen must be running on a tight schedule due to COVID restrictions, I believe it is important that the support staff treat pet parents with empathy and understanding given that it is impossible or rarely entertain emergency visits.

This clinic is one of the best! Dr Cohen and the entire staff took such good care of my dog. They dont over diagnose or overcharge (as Ive experienced with others) and they explain everything that is being done. Sad that I had to move and am no longer able to visit. Highly Recommend!!!

My puppy was spayed yesterday, and she is recovering beautifully. I feel very confident with the staff at Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic. They are friendly, professional, and eager to offer answers to any questions you may have. I am sorry to say that I have to leave this review today after taking my dog to this animal clinic for years. But my last two interactions with them showed that they are less anxious to help pets and pet owners.A few months ago, I took my dog for evaluation for allergies which she has been treated for before. I understand during COVID that rules are different. However, it was cold and pouring rain and they made me wait outside with the dog for over an hour instead of suggesting that I come back. If they bothered to look at the dogs chart, they would have seen that I live a block away. Perhaps they need to schedule a little better.Today, 12/21/20 at approx 10AM, takes the cake and I realized I need to find a new vet; maybe its not directly the doctors fault, but he is responsible for his staff and what they did today was bizarre.I called to tell them my dog left a pile of blood after she went to the bathroom. I was put on hold and when the receptionist returned she said they are too busy to take us today and I should call Blue Pearl in Forest Hills. I was shocked at that response. Arent they supposed to care for animals?And if they bothered to look at my dogs chart, they would have seen this has happened before and they treated her. I asked if this was the norm when a regular dog patient of theirs had an emergency. The answer was yes and they hung up. They didnt even give me the phone number to Blue Pearl.I called Blue Pearl and amazingly, I was able to speak to a vet who gave me guidance OVER THE PHONE. He was calming and told me this was not an emergency at this point and told me what to watch for and what to feed my dog. I dont understand why I wasnt given the same guidance over the phone by my own vet. Being too busy is not the answer. I didnt call after hours. I called early in the morning. This response today was unacceptable and alarming as it illustrated a non-caring environment which is shocking coming out of an animal clinic. Time to find a caring animal clinic because this one has definitely changed over the years.

I have been to FMAC three times with a cat of mine who was very ill. Dr. Cohen and staff were so kind and understanding. Dr. Cohen understood that as much as I loved my cat, finances were limited. He was also willing to try different things as Bobo got sicker. When it was time to put him to sleep last week, everyone was wonderful as could be. I was there alone and it was my first time having to put a pet to sleep. The office was empty of other animals, which I appreciated, and the staff were so nice. Dr. Cohen was so kind and respectful and gave me time alone to say goodbye. Im sad about losing my cat, but he got the best care up until the end. I know I will return with my other cat and any future pets, and will definitely recommend this practice. In one of the hardest moments of my life, I found amazing kindness in Dr. Cohen and staff, and will be forever grateful.

Our dog can be a bit skittish once she’s in the exam room but Dr. Cohen and the staff at FMAC are always so kind and gentle with her. They are very accommodating and always put the pets first. They really understand that pets are family.

We have had pets for many years, and have used a number of different vets, so we do have a base of comparison when we say that Dr. Cohen is one of the best. He is kind, patient and skilled. I have already recommended him to two family members.

My cat saw Dr. Cohen twice already. My cat has her regular vet in Long Island (but Vet is farther, and my cat gets so stressed during travel), so bringing her to Dr. Cohen- means less stress, less travel- like 10 mins drive from my house.The first time I met Dr. Cohen, I was impressed. He explained things to me and also he told me that my cat has a lot of gas. Honestly, my cat was also in ER in January 2020 and none of them mentioned that to me. I like the way Dr. Cohen explained things in detail and he always gives advices too of what needs to be done. I believed that he is very knowledgable and an intelligent Doctor. He and Momo’s regular vet are both smart.Also, the cost of the blood work are very reasonable and competitive.I definitely will bring my cat Momo again to Dr. Cohen.

The staff here is awesome and they really care about your pets. I love that Ive never made an appointment where there is more than one or two other pets there. I have two dogs and having other dogs in a small space gets them really excited so I love that every time Im here, theres either a cat in a crate or a dog just about done with his appointment. Also, they will do some of the small stuff complimentary like sometimes cutting their nails or cleaning their ears. Its the little stuff that counts. Ive been to other vets where they overcharge and barely even care. Also, when the nurse offers a treat to your pet, they will ask if their allergic. Ive had nothing but great experiences here and Ive referred many friends who also feel the same!

We have been using Dr. Cohen for many years. We where so impressed by the care he gave our Husky that when he opened his practice we sought him out and followed him to Fresh Meadows. He has consistently gone above and beyond. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Communication is practically nonexistent here. You dont realize it until you go to a different vet and see the difference. Staff that retrieves your animal is hit or miss, sometimes nice, sometimes very cold and standoff-ish. I got the sense that this place caters more towards their seasoned clients than new clients. Parking is also terrible because there is no lot. I will say the prices are reasonable all things considered though.Edit: Theyre supposedly swamped but have enough time to respond to all these reviews? Interesting....

I took my cats here because of the great reviews but I had an entirely different experience (this was also before covid.) I originally came in because one of my cats had a weird lump. My regular vet is usually packed and I didnt want to wait to have it checked out. The doctor just barely checked it out before going off about what she need, ear cleaning, teeth cleaning, blood work. She went on to list everything with a dollar amount. She even did the same to my other cat that was just there for a regular check-up. She just barely gave them look before going on about a list of things I needed to pay for. When I asked about the lump she literally just told me everything Google did. She gave them their regular shots and that was it. I had to constantly ask questions about my cats and her reply was always something additional I needed to pay for. She even went into ways I can save money in regards to paying for everything and told me about insurances they take. As well as another hospital that can accommodate them. The vet tech there was super friendly as well as the receptionist. The exam and shots was priced fairly. I did get the first time discount for one of my cats which the receptionist informed me of prior to being seen in the waiting room. In total I paid $155 for everything, which is fairly cheap compared to other vets Ive been to. But I cant recommend that doctor and unfortunately I didnt bother to get her name. And while I appreciate the straight forward amount told to me this seemed to be her first priority. The lack of care and attention towards my cats was the biggest thing for me. I ended up contacting another vet and thankfully the receptionist was able to send me the documents and the doctors notes, so I was able to forward them to another hospital.

Weve been bringing our young yorkie Sonny to FMAC for a year now. Dr Cohen and staff have been very helpful and attentive!-First, they did all his puppy boosters, then a special neuter procedure with an undescended testicle.-This weekend, Sonny had bloody diarrhea all over the house and outside in the snow. We werescared and Dr Cohen emailed us at night and gave us instructions on the weekend and medications yesterday.Sonny was back to himself by Monday evening.So far, my experiences with this vet are great! They are responsive and prices are reasonable! Bewarethey are extra busy these days, there was a line out the door on Monday when we went!

Dr Jeremy Cohen took wonderful care of our dog this week: Our healthy dog of 16 years had a sudden collapse and was barely responsive to us.We panicked and immediately sought the help of Dr Jeremy Cohen whom we knew only by reputation.In a calm, rational manner he asked us the appropriate questions, then performed a detailed examination, gave us the right diagnosis and recommended an immediate evaluation in the Manhattan Animal Medical Center for a possible immediate life saving surgery.He was was right on all counts, The dog had his life saving surgery and is doing fine. Despite the dogs transfer to another veterinary facility ( it was late evening) Dr. Cohen followed up with phone calls and continued to advice us on the appropriate care, he clearly cared much that our dog gets the best treatmentAs an Emergency Physician for more than 30 years I am quite aware of the value of quick evaluation and CARE and the importance of CARING.Dr Cohen certainly exhibits all those values!

I had to take my cat here to get neutered. The doctor was very nice and the techs/assistants were really professional. They did another PCV test to ensure my cat was okay to go under for his surgery and I can honestly say, being a vet assistant my self, that not a lot of vets would recheck the PCV values. They also clipped my cats nails and it looks like they cleaned his ears as well. The next day when I emailed a question over, they were quick to respond. Monkey and I thank you guys for the great care!

Dr Cohen is the best vet ever. Hes really nice and he has a shiny degree from Cornell! He was my primary doctor for my dog for 2 years before i moved. I literally moved a month later and needed a vet immediately. My dog was suffering pain from a foreign object she ate. So I rushed to my local clinic in astoria and the doctor recommended a million tests and a technician to be my doctor. Great. I was crying feeling hopeless that my dog needed surgery and the chances of an older dog getting surgery never seems great and can be risky. But Dr. Cohen came and saved the day. He was able to look at the same charts and realized that the material was moving out and did not require surgery. Meanwhile the other vet with an xray couldnt figure out. Folks, get good grades your education matters. Overall, i hate that his clinic is an hour away from me, but its worth it. Never settle for less with your little ones. They cant talk so they count on you to take care of them. PLUS the staff are SO sweet. I cant say that about the Steinway Court Clinic.Dr. Cohen COME TO ASTORIA. WE NEED MORE VETS LIKE YOU!

I cant say enough about this place. Dr cohen and his staff are truly phenomenal people. They are very sincere, honest, professional and caring. Our dog is our baby and they treated her with the upmost care. They are not just out for your money, they truly care about your pet and their well being. I would highly reccomend anyone to come here, we will never be taking our dog any where else.

I had a really frustrating experience. The vet said that my cat needed a dental cleaning. $100 deposit, a starving kitty (who is very vocal about it), and a very expensive uber later, I get a call from the vet who is about to put her under anesthesia - apparently its no longer necessary. Dr. Cohen is the only person I would trust at this place - apparently hes the one who saved my cat from the unnecessary stress of the procedure.

It was easy to make an appointment online and via email and you receive text reminders, which I appreciate. The place is super clean, the staff is friendly and the doctor knowledgeable. I received my pups test result via email 2 days later. This place is is all about convenience and well priced.

I waited till I had been here three separate times before posting this and I can honestly say Dr cohen is fabulous! as well, they just dont dig in your pockets like they do at almost every other vet I have ever been to... I have been taking my dog Luna here for years now , from broken nails, allergies, to her getting sick needing anti-biopics, Diarrhea , more broken nails, teeth cleaning gettin her spaid and even MORE broken nails you name it , and every time I have been treated like family ! More importantly they have treated Luna like their own ... and my 5 pound dog always gives everyone there a hard time , especially Dr. Cohen .. but they are always patient , caring and understanding. Once you enter the door the staff is welcoming, polite and very helpful. After visits they email me to see how Luna is doing and if I have any questions they alway get back to me right away! I truly appreciate the care and professional advice Dr. Cohen and staff have given me through out the years. It’s a trusting and family atmosphere and that’s what important for me and my dog! I took my kitten here for an emergency visit yesterday and firstly I want to say as busy as they were they still managed to fit me in when they heard my concerns over the phone! Which was greatly appreciated! The wait wasn’t long at all, they seem to have a great system going cause normally for emergencies the wait can be real long. There was a very sweet woman who came out and asked me very important questions on my cat before she took him in. He was in there for like 10 mins! I didn’t expect the doctor to come out and talk to us about anything considering how busy they were but he took the time out to let us know what’s going on and I must say that was very professional and I felt like they honestly cared so much. Sometimes you go into places and you feel rushed or feel like your pet didn’t get quality care. Talking to the pet owner is very important especially during these times when we can’t go in with our fur babies for their appts due to covid but the doctor and his staff made it such a great experience, very knowledgeable, especially cause I’m a nervous wreck at times when it comes to my pets lol! I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know and I will continue to bring my animals here as well! They won my heart!!!

Ive been coming to FMAC since my goldendoodle Nala was 7 weeks old. She is now almost 3. Dr Cohen is always amazing with her, he clearly loves his job and is great at what he does. The staff truly care for and love animals! I think the prices are reasonable as well. The receptionist, Megan if I remember her name clearly, is also a great addition to their team.

My dog was very sick with a skin reaction. Dr Jeremy knew his limits and immediately sent us to a specialist. During and after my dogs recovery, he spoke with the specialist and followed up. He called and checked on my dogConstantly. He found a groomer for us that would be gentle while her skin healed. If we could give 10 stars that would not be enough.The best vet in the world.

I love my dog. Shes my family and if anything happened to her I would be devastated. Today there was a pool of blood lying next to my dog after she went to the bathroom. I called my vet! And their answer is to give me an emergency room number Because they are too busy because of Covid. Lots of dogs have Covid, I guess. Thanks Dr. Kohen! Blue Pearl is actually fantastic. They explained to me what my vet did not, which was to not panic and it wasnt an emergency yet. Unfortunately, the Dr at this clinic spent at least 20 minutes responding to his negative reviews from us regarding this experience on Yelp and Google but he was too busy to see my dog. That tells you all you need to know about them. Thank you for your well wishes for Gigi...we will surely be requesting her records. You arent the only vet in town. And Ill be sure to find a vet that spends his time caring for animals rather than responding to his negative business reviews.

I had to take my Dacshund for whet i thought was an emergency visit!!! My usual vet of 30 years was unwilling to take my girl and said no exceptions!!! Although bombarded during this pandemic Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic squeezed me in. The doctor and his assistant were phenomenal and patient with my many questions. These are difficult times and they were professional, curtious, personable and understanding! Very grateful to them and will definitely be switching up my choice of veterinary care to Fresh Meadows !! and i never write reviews but this needed writing !!!!

Dr. Cohen is so compassionate and cares for the animals. They have very fair pricing. Ive taken 2 of my cats there for dental work and checkups and will not be going to any other vet as long as dr.cohen is here.

I enjoyed my visit my pet Mason had a lot of anxiety. But, the nurse took good care of him. Everything went nice and smooth. I would surely refer a friend to this clinic for their pets.

We had been taking our dogs and cats to 2 different vets for several years, and we decided that we wanted to start taking everyone to one location. When our dogs needed their annual shots, we did a lot of research, and gave Dr. Cohen a try. We were immediately sold. You can see that he really cares about your pets, and he takes the time to explain everything to you. The office is clean, modern, and they even give you the first exam for free!I could easily stop there, but I really wanted to share one of our best experiences with FMAC. We found a lump on our cat Daxs chest in January, and were obviously very concerned. We decided to take him to our old vet since they were supposed to be cat specialists. Big mistake. They did a biopsy, and determined that it was an infiltrative lipoma, but the vet had no idea how to remove it. He said that he would need to call in a specialist, and that it would be about $1,800. We had our other cats eye removed when he had cancer for $1,500, so I felt like this was way too much, especially since I had just paid them $500 for a biopsy.I told the vet that I wanted a second opinion, and went to see Dr. Cohen. He examined Dax, checked out the pathology report, and said he would be able to remove the lump. He also raised some good questions, like why the other vet didnt do any bloodwork, and why he didnt just remove the whole thing since they were putting him under anesthesia anyway.A couple of weeks later, we brought Dax in for the surgery, and he did very well. Thanks to it being dental month, we got the tumor removed and his teeth cleaned for about 1/3 of what our former vet wanted to charge. I also felt that Dax was in much better hands, as our old vet needed the falcon glove to restrain him during exams, but with Dr. Cohen and his staff, a little scruff and a towel calms him down.I also wanted to mention their follow-up. Dr. Cohen sent me the tumor pathology report within a couple of days, and also checked in to see how Dax was doing. A couple of days after that, Meg checked in to make sure he was still ok. You dont get that everywhere. I also love that they send all reports and even your invoices by email if you want them to. It makes keeping things organized MUCH easier.We moved from Queens to Nassau this year, but well still be taking all of our little ones to Dr. Cohen and his team at FMAC!

Dr Cohen is great with our dogs, and the staff is friendly and loving to our little buddies. You never feel like they are just trying to up sell you on meds. A great place for any pet

She had taken care of my dogs& cat which lived over 17yrs. She sold practice to Dr.Cohen. I brought my puppy there for shots, etc. All fine, then he was attacked by a dog. He stated no need for care of his bitesExcept they got infected. Which led me to bring him elsewhere. My shepherd dog suffered from many allergies, I exhausted allProfessionals , spending, erc. I decided afterSpeaking with old vet, to take him back to Cohen. Dr. Cohen nice, but his staff is inadequate, with spots, procedures, etc.But I still continue to see him, until my dog developed a growth, very small superficialOne. Opt to have Dr. Cohen remove it. & then my nightmare began. In September my 4 plus yr old shepherd Thor had growth removed from leg, he arrived early a.m. Originally procedure was asked by his office to changeHis date. Because Dr. Cohen would have more time & my Dog would be first at 10am. I knewMy dog would be prohibited from excersise, so I made sure to bring him to park to run, play w his friends. My Thor Shepherd alwaysActive running, jumping, etc. He walked in toDr. Cohen physically exceptional & after surgery limping, some stitches did not appearRight, withing days they came off, & still my dog limping having hard time up on couchI brought him back, staples put in, ,& Dr. Cohen& staff kept stating, limping was because of wound & give time. 2months I noticed my dogAfter running a little or walking, limped & picked the leg of surgery up. I could not understand, from simple growth. I requestedX ray of his leg & left messages, no one returned calls, until I sent Dr. Cohen emailAfter bringing him to two different specialist.Clear now, My dog was forcefully injured &He will possibly need plate & screws. My dogThat day of surgery acted insanely crazy toRun out & shook in my lap & cried for hoursWondering this dog that has been w otherVets, react this way. But what I did observeOn other occasions is that Megan his techA little rough with pets in back room. I observed her through window, she noticedHowever I did not know she would be the oneHandling my Thor until that very morning. ButMy husband stated would be ok. Megan actedVery pleasant that morning, but on phoneShe is different. The fact that my dog wasDetained all day in cage. & surgery was rushed later after 130pm. This also was a problem as Dr. Cohen had emergenciesThe care of blood work etc, conducted by Megan. My dog cant doAny of those things, breaks my heart. Because he knows he cant himself& gets depressed. Femur bone fractureThat only can happen by car accident or human force. So I have left emails to him& of course they will deny. But I have videos of my dog that morning, and after.So please refrain from any surgical procedures there this is my story!

So glad we changed to another doctor. The receptionist specially is very unprofessional & cannot take questionsI completely agree to another reviewer about the comment “You dont realize it until you go to a different vet and see the difference. Staff that retrieves your animal is hit or miss, sometimes nice, sometimes very cold and standoff-ish. “

My gf cats mango, paprika, and cookie have all gone to dr. Cohen! He also handles my malchi chopper. I will also be bringing in my dog eevee to finish her vaccines. I made a mistake going to whitestone vet instead of dr. Cohen because since he is a great doctor, it is hard to grab an appointment that worked for me. Big mistake! I was overcharged money so the vet at whitestone could RIP me off! Dr. Cohen is a vet and it is his practice but he has consistently offered us some discounts over the time we had been going to him. Not saying thats why we love him. Hes super friendly and you just get the good guy vibes around the doctor! All my cats and dogs go to dr. Cohen and Ill be going there with no interruptions as long as dr. Cohen is alive! For all you that give him a 1 star(only one rating was bad), you must be out your mind.

Everyone was nice. Even though my dog is terrified of going in, they were patient with him. Treat jar at the counter for after the terror awards. This is the main vet that both my dogs go to.

Dr Cohen & his team have been extremely attentive to my dog and his allergies. They administered an allergy test when we first went there and have changed his life for the better. I highly recommend Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic.

I fully regret my decision to bring my dog here. The vet knows nothing about pet health and was no help to my dog whatsoever ever. They just took a huge chunk of my pay check for nothing with nothing to show for. I could tell they didn’t care about my pet’s well-being. If your pet needs a vet, I urge you to go somewhere else.

Probably the best vet experience me and my Maltese, Zoe ever had. Convenient location, great receptionist / assistant, and the most wonderful Vet. Even though I was unable to meet the doctor because of the protections that we need, the medical assistant was very professional and sweet. I emailed them I dont know how many times and they always responded to my questions. It was my first time and definitely I am going to stay with them.

I usually never have a problem with this place but the last time I went was absolutely terrible! The front desk receptionists are absolutely unprofessional, are not personable at all, have A LOT of attitude and do not know customer service. They are always overbooked and rushing. Over the last year or so, the service has just degraded. Absolutely atrocious!RESPONSE TO DR. COHEN:I really appreciate that you took the time to read this concern, however your staff members are not reporting the correct timings and incident details to you. I was not 45 minutes late because I had TWO pets that needed to be seen. My appointment was scheduled for 1:00pm for one cat and 1:30pm for another cat. In fact, due to technical difficulties on your end, I received text messages throughout the weekend (that I have proof of), that my appointment for both cats were at 1:30pm and later told when I arrived that one cat was actually scheduled for 1:00pm. When I arrived, I was 11 mins late at 1:40pm and called your front desk receptionist who put me on hold till 1:45pm and then stayed on the phone till 1:48pm instead of taking me in. According to your contract and policy, I was given a 15 min grace period which does not require a reschedule. My point is, I was within the 15 min grace period and DID NOT ask for BOTH cats to be squeezed in. I asked if at-least one cat could be see from 1:48 to 2pm, the allotted time for my appointment. In any case, I have received treatment from you before for my other cat and had no complaints at all. That’s why I drove my cats all the way from Long Island to your Vet service. My complaint is not towards you but rather your front desk receptionist, who showed a lot of attitude to me and my sister, assumed that I am not an adult and am speaking over my mother who I recently lost due to Covid-19. Your receptionist even pulled her mask down to tell me that I’m speaking over my mother who in fact could not have possibly been on the premise. It was at the very end that I lost my cool and could not tolerate her atrocious attitude any longer. I assure you that no one understands the pandemic and the hardships of it more; I completely empathize with you, and sure hope that you do with me. I would not want you to lose other customers because of unprofessional receptionists. I truly appreciate you taking the time to respond to my concern and really hope the best going forward. Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic treat my 4 cats. They are local to where I live and responsive when I have a problem. Appts are made within a reasonable time and their rates are affordable. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Cohen and his staff are incredibly understanding, empathetic, friendly and helpful. They are always available to help and genuinely love all animals. I love that I can contact the Dr. via email and that they are so accessible and willing to explain everything.

The staff is professional and attentive and Dr Andrew just took a look at Jackie the Jack Russell and said with confidence I have seen these symptoms before prescribed the proper meds and Jackie is on the mend. I highly recommend you bring your dog here as both Jackie and I could not be more pleased.

Quick and thorough care. Got my cats nails trimmed and an overall checkup. Doc came out and chatted with us and answered our questions. Overall we were happy with our visit.

My dog was having issues with itching and running around, sitting frantically all over the place. I set up an appointment, telling the receptionist it might be allergy related, fleas, or anal gland issue. and that I need to see the vet to find out. I arrive days later, where I was only attended by a technician who relieves the anal gland. When I asked if I can see the vet in an examination room, Dr Cohen gave me an attitude that I had set up an appointment just for anal gland extraction, making a big deal out of it in front of the whole lobby. The issue was fleas, as id find out a week later at a separate vet.

Dr. Cohen and staff are fantastic! both my babies are comfortable with him. The place is nice and clean and always on time. I highly recommend Dr. Jeremy Cohen!

My Mom took my little Laura for her first visit here. We were looking to switch to a new vet in the area. The exam was thorough and the doctor seemed to genuinely care. No rushing the exam, no sarcasm about what the dog goes thru, etc. I am very happy to hear Laura has a doctor that is polite and professional. Laura already gets groomed here so now it is a 1 stop shop. They also have a lot of hi-tech equipment which I like should Laura ever need it.I adore my girl and want her to be well taken care of and this place seems to be the right one for her.

Skittles, my Maine Coon, has had some excellent vets who have treated her well, so placing Dr Bruna and her assistant Martha at the top of the list is not to knock other vets and their staff, it is simply to acknowledge how great and caring the folks at Fresh Meadows Animal Clinic are.

I just moved in to the neighborhood & was looking for a vet near by for my cat, Mochi. I brought Mochi in to get checked a couple of weeks ago & Dr. Cohen was very attentive, his office was also well-kept with friendly staff around. I think Mochi has found her new primary vet!

Good staff great doctor. But they should stop using pandemic as an excuse and not let pet parents inside.. Its much easier to go through the day without dealing with pet parents I understand but we paying customers everybody is allowing people in and so should you.

I honestly dont understand how this place got so many 4 stars....So I went there at the end of August 2017 with my 7 week old pitbull puppy. She was examined and had a type of skin rash. The Dr did a skin scrape and gave us some cream (did not work and used it for 3 weeks instead of 2) she also has parasites and was given oral medication. Soon after she received her first set of vaccines and dewormer. The dewormer didnt work so they gave her another dose a week later. Again nothing. Also the vet told me she needs her booster aka other set every two weeks.I went to another vet who was much more thorough and told me she needs boosters once a month. Gave me a different medicine for her worms and medication for vaginitis as well as a natural supplement.Also when I called and asked for a detailed copy of her medical records they said sure no problem. A few minutes later I get a written email about 10 words long saying good health, vaccinated, dewormer etc.Are you kidding ? No dates ? No details ?This vet here ...yes its cheaper than most places. But its a classic case of you get what you pay for

My 6 year old dog, a mayorkie, named Zeus,who I rushed to the Elmhurst animal hospital at 10 30 at night last february, because it was the only one open was sent home with a fluid pack injected on his back, they had said he just had a fever but upon reaching my home my dog had died in my arms. I was terribly upset and went right back with my dead dog in my arms but besides the point, the Elmhurst animal hospital who killed my dog sent me home with his dead body because they do not cremate dogs there. Next day I went to the Fresh meadows animal clinic and there was a girl at the front desk who had compassion for me and told me they would take care of the cremation for me. I then spoke with a Im guessing a veterinary assistant who was blond with an attitude, that I wanted the vet to look over my dogs xray because the Elmhurst place who said he just had a fever them said that oops he saw a mass in my dogs abdomen but did not notice it till I brought him back dead. She said well cremate your dog and the vet will look over the xray and he will get back to you, we will call you once the dog is cremated. But they never did. Look, I understand that everyone is busy but where is the compassion in which your position is based. We pay an arm and a leg for our animals who are family members and no one shows any heart. So in my honest opinion you deserve less than one star.

Unprofessional and useless. They do unnecessary scans and over charge you for them. Then will turn around and say that they cant provide the care needed and to go waste MORE money at a much MORE expensive pet hospital. Save yourself a trip and go to Whitestone Veterinary Care, 100x better.

They didnt give me the news I wanted to hear but were very honest. My Shih Tzu was riddled with tumors, due to her cancer, and they did what they could with her care and grooming.
