I have been bringing my 5lb yorkie here for as long as Marie has been in business at this location on Union Tpke. I used to cut his hair myself but something told me to give her a try when I saw the store opening and I have never looked back. I now have a second Yorkie even smaller and I would never trust anyone but Marie with my fragile boys. She always brings my haircut visions to life and makes me boys look absolutely adorable. I suggest her to everyone I know and will go to her for the rest of my boys lives.

After moving to NYC a year ago, I found Maries based on online reviews (you have to read carefully, beware of reviewers with low number of reviews that gives 1-star ratings). Our girls have been getting their monthly grooming done at Maries, and weve been 100% satisfied with every visit. We love that Maries uses Square to manage their grooming appointments. The text and email reminders are helpful, and easily syncs with my calendar so I dont miss an appointment. As other customers of Maries have pointed out: my girls dont fight me as we walk through the front door. My dogs are very sensitive towards abusive groomers, and they clearly dont mind going to Maries. Maries also dont use treats to bribe the dogs either (the one with IBD will let me know in the afternoon if shes gotten ill-gained treats from the groomer in the morning). Prices are higher by around $10 compared to other grooming places in the area, but doesnt your beloved pet deserve the kind and gentle handling of a good groomer? I have been going to Marie’s for a while now. My dear Angel is a pom and has so much hair. I asked them to cut short for the summer this time. She looks fantastic and definitely feels the difference while playing! I have no complaints, Tommy does an amazing job!

I am a new pet parent and was looking for a groomer in Queens. So glad I found Maries Pet Grooming. My pup usually gets groomed by Tommy. He does an amazing job on my pup who is a cockapoo. She is an anxious dog but is very comfortable at Maries. Making the appointment was super easy as well.

Marie has been grooming our poodle mix Miles for almost 10 years. She is professional, patient and understanding (Miles is not always the best guest) and he always looks handsome when he leaves. Marie and her team consistently do a great job grooming my 35 lb golden doodle. Prices are extremely reasonable for the neighborhood and level of work. Very clean space and friendly, attentive staff.

I am so happy how Marie’s grooming took care of Charlie. They did such a good job on my boy. The staff is so nice and made myself and my dog very comfortable. They cut his hair and took care of absolutely everything from his hair, nails, ears and teeth. I would recommend everyone who has a dog to take them to Marie’s grooming without hesitation. I have a 16 years old Maltese almost 17 years old . She’s obviously a senior and in very fragile condition. She’s extremely hard to groom because she’s loosing her sights and completely lost her hearing and therefore gets very scared. I’m very nervous about how she’s handled when getting her nails cut. However, The groomer here has been very careful and took extra care of my dog every time I go there. Marie the groomer is very professional and understanding. Thank you

I am extremely disappointed with Marie’s grooming for the last three services. My dog’s recent grooming was the worst by far. I advised Marie’s that my dog’s last groomings have been choppy, uneven & was a poor hair cut. They apologized and committed to do a better job. I asked they please cut her hair to a nice short length & to give her a teddy bear look around the face. What do I get? My dog was shaved down completely. You could see pink all around her body. Her belly and privates are all skin. The little bit of hair she was left with was mostly on her face which was far from a teddy bear look and AGAIN was cut choppy and uneven. This was the worst grooming she’s ever had. This was not grooming, it was a complete shave down of her fur which cost me $115. Meanwhile, I already told them the last cut was very choppy & uneven. I can’t believe they charged $115 to shave her down to her skin. That is just a total ripoff. I don’t know who is grooming the dogs or if there are new groomers/employees but they need to train their staff on how to properly groom the dogs. Now I understand why my dog doesn’t want to go there anymore. When we’ve gone the last three times, she behaved as though we were taking her to the electric chair. She was crying up a storm & now more so. Well it’s too bad this happened. This type of treatment & poor service is unacceptable. Again, it’s extremely disappointing that Marie’s services have plummeted and icharged $115 to have shaved down my dog’s fur and still have a choppy and uneven face cut. It’s also disappointing this review doesn’t allow for zero stars.

Marie is an amazing groomer.My dog had a spine surgery in 2019 and since then I trust only Marie to do Charlie’s haircut.Whenever we need a grooming we always can get what Charlie needs and every time is nice job which makes me happy as an owner of a disabled dog.

We have been coming to Marie’s for quite a few years. The biggest compliment I can give is when I drop Starsky off I have zero apprehension or concern. Marie is a delight and she takes GREAT care of her clients. Other places have opened but we’re staying put!

Weve been going to Maries for two years now, even though I dont live close by I keep going back because shes the best groomer Ive found in Queens. She gives Brody the perfect puppy cut, and she took the time to educated me on how I can prevent matted hair on poodles at home. Shes really the only one I trust to groom Brody. Well everyone could have a different experience with a service provider, my experience was very positive. I met with the lady behind the register and she was very pleasant and helpful, then she suggested that I consult with the groomer before I decide on how to have my cat groomed. the groomer was a very knowledgeable gentleman who gave me excellent guidance and helped me to decide correctly. I am happy with their service and knowledge of their profession and I would recommend Maries Pet Grooming to all.

Im a bit perplexed by some of these negative reviews but hey people can go through different things. I must say Marie’s pet grooming has been a godsend to us and our dog.My sister and I have just became the new owners of our deceased grandmothers dog. When we obtained Rocky he was severely matted and had long nails. It was a bit crazy because when our grandmother was alive and moving he never looked like that. We kept him because he is such a good dog and our grandmother would’ve wanted him to be with the family. However, the mats had to go because he was very uncomfortable I’m sure and I was uncomfortable for him. We made an appointment with a very helpful woman on the phone and came in for the scheduled appointment. They looked Rocky over got his documents [you must have all the necessary shots which I think are Rabies, Bordetella , and distemper]. The woman we met at the counter was nice and very helpful at explaining everything to us. We also met the other groomer, a man and he was very nice and professional as well. They were explaining everything to us and my sister and I felt comfortable leaving Rocky there. We did end up needing him back early and had to slightly rush there to get him and go due to me having something to do before they closed but I was beyond impressed with how well they cut his hair. He looked like a new happy comfortable dog. We were explained why they made some decisions and what we can do to keep him happy like getting a brush from them[which we will be purchasing soon] etc. I will continue to do business with them and they are so close to our home we could walk here. I reccomend anyone who needs grooming done in the area to come here.

Excellent place for grooming your dog. Marie is kind of understanding the importance of your dog and treating them well. She’s off for additional accessories in that place as well in Valley Brook advise for example what to do with the dogs flea infestation

The groomer does a poor job all around given the very high price for services. I took my dog here several times before finally being fed up. They do not follow any instructions and do not take the best care of the dogs they take in. If you have a poodle or poodle mix, they will not properly groom your dog. I have seen similar results from other customers who were also unhappy no matter how simple the hair cut.

I always utilize Marie Pet Grooming for nail trimming as it is difficult for myself to keep my energetic Jack Russel- Mia still. She takes her time to trim and grind her nails and Mia is very comfortable with her.

The worst groomer. If I could give 0 I would. She does not groom this unprofessional woman just shave every fur from my toy poodle. The poor dog is traumatized. She is the worst. Those pictures she have up is so fake. The dog is sad my kids are sad and I am sad. You are an unprofessional person Marie not a groomer. Shaving every fur off a dog is not grooming. I could do that myself. I am so passed and it our dogs birthday. I woke up this morning to wish my dog happy birthday he is shivering. All I is left of my toy poodle is his ear. His body is totally pink. I am still disgruntled $80. These people charge to butcher my 6.5 lb dog. I would advise anyone looking for a groomer look elsewhereThey are over priced and only shear your dogs to their skin. No conscience to even say its approaching fall and the dog need his fur. This place should be closed. They are so barbaric to say the least. I wish I could post the picture. So people could be the judge.

I have been coming to Maries pet grooming for the past year but todays experience is something I want to share with everyone. Two major issues, one is groomers attitude and the second is the cut.My 10 month old pup came in for a short cut and the woman in the front emphasized she was very matted so she had to be cut super short. I was fine with whatever they recommended because they were the professionals. Upon picking up my pup, she whimpered in my arms but the cut doesnt look half bad so I paid the overpriced $75 and tipped an extra $15.I brought her to the car and thats when I realized she was bleeding over my hand and my jacket. I looked down and realized one of her toes had actually been sniped off!! I rushed back inside and told her shes bleeding, and the groomer came out from the back and nonchalantly picked her up and brought her to the back (which I can only imagine how many times hes messed up and done this). He comes back and tells me he put some powder on her leg and she will be perfectly fine. He told me the reason why theres a cut was because I (the customer) misplaced my pup into her cage... even though I didnt bring a cage. He gives me the are we good kind of gesture and said youre welcome to which I just mumbled thanks.Im currently in the clinic while my pup is undergoing surgery to get her toe surgically removed because they said the cut was too deep which will cost me $300. They also assured theres NO WAY this cut could have been from a cage.Please take caution entering this place. They refuse to acknowledge any wrong doings and you can see that through their reviews as they try to refute every negative response and blame the perspective owners instead.I just wanted a simple groom for my pet and turns out, my pup had to suffer 4 hours to result in terrible grooming and another 3 hours for surgery.Be careful.

Maybe if your dog behaves and let you groom easily, this would be a great place. However, if your dog is sensitive and needs bit more patience, please don’t go here. Even tho their skills are great, however I don’t think my dog thinks her grooming experience is pleasant. Instead, every time I got her back, she seems to hate combs a bit more, even try to bite me when I touch her. The groomers get the job done in time but they don’t really care about how dog feels. Force are probably made during grooming.

I am very disappointed with the grooming service. The groomer buzzed my dog, her hair is so short. The weather is getting cold and my dog has no hair to keep her warm. Irresponsible groomer!I was specific in the type of cut requested and it was completely ignored.We will not be going back.

I absolutely love taking my baby to Maries. I like the way Chris takes care of Lady and she likes him too. He not only grooms Lady, he also gives me advice when it comes to Ladys skin because hes a Vet Tech as well. I would highly recommend Maries Grooming.

My first time at this placewas pure desperation. My second time was to see if things would be better and if they wereable to listen to me of I want for my baby. I gave instructions and I brought a photo of my baby to show how he supposed to look like. He is a very handsome mixed breed. When his groomer knows how to groom, my baby boy looks like both breeds he represent.... Lets say now he looks like poodle. Poodles are cute, but my dog is a Cavachon!! And thanks for being Xtra expensive. You be the judge. The beautiful one was done by a professional groomer. The other was done by groomer working at Maries establishment.

I don’t know if the groomer who did my 2 dogs is new or is the regular experience groomer. But the results was the same. Let me start with the 3 years old mixed puddle/ Maltese. It was the worst ever my dog coat was uneven all over . The ears so bad it was the first thing I noticed and I asked to fix it. But, still didn’t do it right.A complete disaster no style in the cut it look like she took the machine and used the same trimming attachment all over.Now the 8 weeks old puppy I asked to trim the hair between the eyes, to clean around the bud, paws and file the nails.The paws and the nails was the only thing right.And the puppy got different coat than the 3 years old he is a shorkie.Very unhappy with this place. Never againIf any questions I got the pictures to confirm my statement.

Staff is nice but groomer is very unprofessional its the same thing as washing your dog at home. The first time i brought my dog he came come and was depressed for a whole week i figured it might be from the haircut. Second time around i picked up my dog he smelled worse then when i brought him in. Like i said great place groomer is just unprofessional

Very careful & consiencous groomer. She really cares about our pets. My poodles have never looked so good. The best part is that they arent afraid of going to her salon.

Explicitly ignored my instructions. Cut off my dogs lashes after I stated that I did not want them cut. They also, cut her hair short after I had said I wanted it to be fluffy. Ridiculous that they won’t even listen to instructions after i pay over $100 for a “vip” treatment. On top of that, they took almost 3 hours when i had one of the first appointments of the day. First experience was great but this second one? never again. EDIT*** COME TO FIND OUT, THEY ALSO CUT MY DOGS BELLY AND DID NOT ADVISE ME OF ANYTHING. NO WONDER THEY MADE ME PAY BEFORE BRINGING OUT MY DOG

Well here is how it went. My wife makes the appointment I go to drop of our doggy. I explain to the lady what I want, she explained the different packages. We come to an agreement. Half hour later I get a call from her telling me that my dogs hair is very, very matted and it will cost $10 extra because they have to spend extra time on the dog. I ask how can she be so matted? Her hair is too short to be matted. She said again her is very matted all over. Again I say how can it be, her hair is very short as it is. The reason why we cut it so short to begin with was because it was matted. I said my dogs hair is too short to be matted. She said your dogs hair is not that short for the kind of breed it is. I said what are you talking about, my dogs hair can grow very long. She said hold on let me put the groomer on the phone. Some guy gets on the phone and he starts with the your dogs hair is very matted and we have to shave it down. I said my dogs hair is too short to be matted but still he insisted. Finally I ask what dog are you looking at? He said its a white Pom with cream around the ears and its a boy. SMH. I tell him my dog is a girl. (a white Havanese). I heard silence on the phone. He doesnt say a word and puts the girl back on the phone. The girl asked me Um, what is your dogs name? I tell her my dogs name and she said, I think we called the wrong person. I say ok, thank you good bye. So, a couple hours later i get the call to pick her up. I get there and my baby comes out. She looks good smells good and doesnt seemed traumatized, great!. But the guy comes around the corner and asked the girl if she made a phone call to another customer. She said yes, I called him twice and even text him. He said let me see the card (customer info). He looks at the card and says to her you wrote down the wrong number. He corrects the info and walks away without even greeting me as a new customer. She screams out at him alright, I messed up, sorry. This place seems to do good work on there pets, that is why I dropped a $20 tip. A bit pricey but do good work but from what I can tell is that they are a somewhat new business in the area and are trying way to hard. I suggest to take a breath and get more organized. Otherwise my pet was fine. Not saying I wont use them again but just afraid my dog may be picked up by the wrong old lady LOLOL.

If I could give it a 0 I would. They don’t know how to treat pets. They shaved my dog wrong even though I told groomer the specific way we wanted them to shave her like 4 times (schnauzer type). Afterwards she couldn’t open both of her eyes for like 2 days. Keep in mind that we have brought her there two times and the two times they shaved her wrong and she couldn’t open her eyes afterwards.

Marie was very professional. She answered all of my questions. She worked with what we needed to be done for my puppy. Grooming was done in a quick reasonable time.

Did not give my dog the cut that I expected at all. I expected a professional cut, and instead they shaved his fur extremely short, and the nails were cut very poorly and left unfinished and very sharp. The whole family is extremely dissatisfied- definitely not worth price.

I took my baby several times each time he came back nicely groomed.The last time I dont know what happened Chris groomed him he was nicked in several places, and was depressed and jumpy for about a week. Will never take him back there again.

Fluffy spa day at Marie’s was not so scary because Tommy the groomer is very friendly and treats Fluffy with love and care.

I bought my dog in on a whim just to get her nails clipped last minute. Upon arrival the shop was very cute and clean. The woman, I wish I would’ve gotten her name was very nice. She took my dog to the back and the service took all of 7 or 8 minutes. Pricing was great as well. I will be back!

We have been going to Maries for over a year now and I would recommend it to anyone. The place is clean and neat. Its easy to find parking nearby. The fee is fairly competitive. I would only like to see more haircutting included in the grooming package.

I took 2 of my kitties to Maries today. What an amazing 1st time experience! Chris did such a phenomenal job shaving both of my cats, I am soooo happy. Their hair was really an issue at home, literally allover everything. Even with vacuuming 3-4x a week. Chris shaved them exactly how I asked, along with their nails being cut. The shave is very neat on their entire bodies, they look adorable lol. Such a relief! Staff were all very pleasant. Will definitely take my kitties there routinely.

If i could give 0 stars i would. My poor friend and her poor dog are traumatized because these unprofessional people dont know what deshedding is. Poor husky was SHAVED. which means she cant go outside because she can over heat , the poor husky is unsure how to react and is never going to have the same coat of fur again! ANY DOG GROOMER SHOULD KNOW YOU NEVER SHAVE A HUSKIES FUR!! I hope this place shuts down, they run the risk of harming more dogs When you restrict a dog from going outside the anxiety that forms is incredible. What a disgrace.

I dont feel happy with how they work here... because of my dogs symptoms, I would think that they put her to sleep with some sedative to work, plus she couldnt open one of her eyes all day... I really dont send them to that place anymore, They dont know how to treat pets with care, nothing professional about this place..

Terrible service, they dont really know how to treat animals, our dog went for a haircut and they shaved her, they gave her a bad eye... In order to charge more they gave her medicine to put her to sleep so she could let her nails be cut 😡😡😡 one of the worst services we have had. I dont recommend them 😡
