My Family has been using the veterinary services and boarding our pets with Dr Romero at Merrick blvd since the early 90’s also my parentsThe staff is extremely knowledgeable caring and concerned about their clients our pets♥️The prices are very resonablethe facility is always airy clean and pleasant.Your pets are not afraid of the staff and for me I feel very secure and safe leaving my besties my babies my cat and dog here to board.It’s a great well organized animal hospital👍🏽👍🏽♥️

Animal hospital is amazing. The staff are polite and very understanding. It’s priced reasonably and they also have grooming service. I will continue taking my Yorkie there.

I have been taking my pets to this facility since 2008 and Ive always been pleased with the care my fur babies have received. The staff has always been kind, caring, knowledgeable, and extremely understanding. They answer all my questions and are patient with me and my fur babies, even when the animals are nervous and are a bit unruly. A+++

One of the best veterinary clinics I have ever visited. Staff is very kind and so professional. I have been taking my kitties here for years! Always provides the best care.

They have helped my mom and myself keep two cats alive who were deemed by other vets to die within two months because they were diagnosed with fip and feline corona virus. The first cat managed to live 17 years, and my current cat has been alive for 4 years now. My previous vet suggested that we put her to sleep. Albeit she and the previous cat have to eat prescription EN food, but it is worth saving the cats life rather than putting them to sleep.

They are one of the greatest vet clinics. I used to bring my cats here. Because of relocation I can’t see them now. Their service charge is so much affordable & convenient, and they take great care of your pet. Thanks for all you do!!

I took my dog Chloe for her vaccines and they took excellent care of her. She was scared at first but I didnt hear her whimpering or barking and she came back out just as happy. The grooming was also amazing! She smelled so good like sweet powder and the little ribbon they put around her collar was a cute touch! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the prices were half of what I used to pay at another clinic. I highly recommend them. Theyll take great care of your fur babies.

Staff at Merrick Boulevard animal hospital are very friendly and professional. Receptionist took the time to collect information about my cat and the vet was gentle and knowledgeable. After years of searching for a good vet I think I may have found the one.

Got my cat a dental scaling/cleaning. My sweet girl came out all good. They seemed to take good care of her, gave her antibiotics before and after the cleaning to help with her gingivitis, and even trimmed her claws. Great pricing, nice and caring staff.

I definitely recommend this place. The attention is incredible they make you feel comfortable and happy with your pest, they give the property instructions, and it is just amazing. Im so happy to choose this hospital. Also, the prices are very affordable, Im definitely recommend 👌 great services, thank you 😊

Took a family member’s dog here ! French bully ! The staff was so welcoming and accommodating even though I was a walk in. Very knowledgeable and aware of issue with pets, they made recommendations, they were gentle and was straightforward with what was needed for this little guy. Truly appreciate the service I received as a human and SUPER GRATEFUL for the service my pet received! Thank you to all of the staff members here !!!!

I strongly advise against bringing your beloved pet to this veterinary hospital. My 10-month-old cat was brought in for a spaying procedure, but unfortunately, she passed away due to the medication used to sedate her on the same day of the operation. Whats more concerning is that they did not conduct any blood tests before the surgery to ensure that my cat was healthy enough to undergo the procedure. Its evident that the lack of care and attention from the staff led to this heartbreaking outcome. I would highly recommend finding a more reputable and responsible veterinary clinic for your pets needs.

I brought my 11 1/2 yr old poodle to this vet for a wellness check up and the vet misdiagnosed him. The blood test came back okay and he stated he didnt see a problem. The most important instrument the doctor should have used was the stethoscope for listening to the heart and lungs follow with chest xray which he didnt do. My dog died 16 days later of congestive heart faliure without being treated with medication. I regret bringing my dog to this clinic.

I cannot speak about the actual services, but I found a dog roaming aimlessly without owner. I needed to have them scammed to get their info. I called this place and person on the phone told me to come by. Once I arrived, she was able to do the scan and find the needed info. She was very sweet and helpful.

Absolutely amazing. Everyone was so courteous and my cat enjoyed it too. Not too long of a wait and I got a detailed record for my cat after the visit. The prices are reasonable considering they only charge for whatever service you get and not the office visit. The best part is that its close to home.

Exceptional excellent service received for my pet from when I drop her off to when i received her back after her procedure. I recommend this animal hospital to anyone who owned an animal as a pet

My cat has been vomiting for 4 days now, I called to get her taken care of and they refused me. Reason they don’t accept walk in, and the girl seriously told me she can make an appointment for me for Tuesday. 3 days from now. My cat could be dead by then. I have been using this vet for 14 years. All my pets went there. Hopefully I will never go back there. Very sad 😢

Great Services! Just went for my dogs nail trim, but when I called they were all booked. About 30 minutes later, used the caller ID to call me to say they had an opening. Thats good customer service. I also been going for many years 3 different dogs. Very Caring place.

An appointment was made for me even though I requested it not to be made. Because I love my dog I went in anyway. The Tech was aggressive in her approach to me implying that my complaints about my dog might not be legitimate. Products were offered which I purchased. My dog suffers allergies every year. I tended to her needs prior to the visit, thats why they didnt see the rash, or scratches.

I will be bringing my lulu back here for sure. The staff was so friendly and efficient. The vet was so good with lulu. Lulu loved her. The prices are awesome!!! Thank you so much for the beautiful service you provided us today. ❤

I have taken my dog there for over 9 years. Today he was stressed, panting and in pain so I took him to the hospital at 5 pm. Hospital closes at 7 pm yet they would not look at the dog. Staff showed little care and concern for a hurting animal, no compassion and we don’t give …💩 attitude. I will not visit that hospital again and you should think about avoiding that place if you loved your pet.

The veterinary services are adequate but the boarding service is atrocious. My 2 cats boarded there for a week. Unfortunately is was a last minute choice and the worst ever. They were each in a tiny cage in the basement. Dont know if they were ever let out of the cages all week. When my daughter and I went to retrieve them my poor cats were full of poop inside the cages. One of them was hissing and wouldnt come out of the cage. Acting very traumatized and psychotic. Needless to say we were very upset. Never ever would I recommend anyone to board their pets there. Its been a few years since this experience and the memory is still very upsetting. There are much nicer, more spacious boarding facilities out there. Give yourself enough time to research and find better accommodations for your pets.😢😡

Top of the line care especially for my Zeus as hes a very aggressive dog but we went in and the doctor did what she had to do didnt show him my oz of fear

My family and I had to say goodbye to our best friend after 10 years. He had cancer and was suffering. The staff was amazing and very sympathetic when it came down to our final good bye. They gave us all the time we needed and let the whole family hold him and comfort him during his last hour. The dr was also very patient especially when my children and I were crying, we werent rushed or anything. Thank you

Small, outdated exam rooms/old looking equipment/supplies. Okay for a quick solution but for long-term care Id go somewhere else.Friendly staff. Decent prices. Will not try to upsell you on supplements or sneak stuff into your bill. Just have to remind doctor if you already have it on hand so you dont buy more than you need.

The level of attention my dog gets at each visit is great. Personnel are above and beyond.

Boarded my 2 krazy dogs with them for 11 days. The dogs were happy and alive when we got back. Boarding fees are very reasonable. What else can you ask for? Definitely recommend.

The process was very quick and efficient. They couldnt let me in the exam room because of Covid-19 but the checked with me frequently on any updates and permission for vaccines and other medicines. And for a great price.

So friendly and helpful. Their office manager is a lovely tuxedo cat. Parking can be awkward as Merrick Blvd is busy street, but I will continue to take my kitties there.

Horrible clinic. After taking x-rays and cutting my dog open for no reason(no operation was performed) they made a quick suggestion that I should euthanize him. Of course I would not make a hasty decision to kill my dog so I paid for an overnight stay so that another vet could come in and see him the next day. The next vet took a quick look at him without opening him up again said that the problem was just normal fatty tissue and that nothing needed to be done. I ended up paying over $1,000 and had to go through the fear of possibly losing my dog just to be told that nothing needed to be done. Of course we also had to pay for the pain killers too.This place is a waste of money and time.

They have assisted in making sure my kittens health has progressed amazingly.Clean, kind and very caring everything I have been there. I am thankful for this vet 🙏

Today was my 1st day at Merrick Boulevard animal . I took my tw 3 month old cats for their immunizations, deworming and wellness check. the person that handled the cat appeared to be knowledgeable and pleasant the cost was regular because veterinary care is quite expensive these days. I will update the post after another visit.

I have my dog boarded on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Upon pick up on Monday August 21, 2017, she was being returned to me with the smell of feces on her body. Also a sore on her ear that appears to bite .The son of the facility show no compassion whatsoever. He took her in the back wiped her with a rag and poured perfumed on her to cover the smell. I was so upset I started crying then he offered me credit toward a wash medicine for her ear. This was totally unacceptable to me I have my dog in a facility that supposed to be taking Her only for her to be returned to me in an unsatisfactory condition and also injured. My dog is well taken care of and when I leave her in the care of someone else I expect that she will be returned to me in that same condition. I will never bring her back for boarding again over the years I have been bringing her there for check ups and also boring but this shows that ill personnel caring and she deserves better than this kind of treatment.

This place has helped me and My Ashes . While every other vet we went too, wanted cash up front by guessing base on what we said . Thanks God For mom and pop Petshop(Thats how i found out abt this place) I came in and they help me. I explain the situation and they work with me . Friendly Staff , just awesome to know they care for pets and willing to work with you and save a lifeits not all about the $$$$...to many Vet clinics are opening with these unprofessional people just asking for cash up front . I dealt with two who were afraid to handle cats..Thank you All for your caring!

First off out of 5 visits for a common ear infection my initial visit was pleasant. They did what was expected and put medication in my dogs ear, and yes they were very nice “well the receptionist that’s not there anymore was” 3 weeks later it came back in other ear took him back and they put medication. 3 weeks later it went right back to the other ear and then I was told by the son “well that just happens and maybe I should stop using cleaning products or scented candles”. I called again because he is now in horrible pain you can hear liquid in his ear and the daughter who must answer the phones the tells me upon making an appointment for yesterday that it must be my fault because the first time I did not come in the exact time frame specified which happened once. But the ear infection went from ear to ear to ear. He received 7 doeses of medication how many times does he have to get the medication for them to get it right. I called the to tell them i couldn’t get there because I was stuck in traffic yesterday and was put on hold for 20 min then the son picked up after 5 call backs and I was told they are very busy and they don’t have time to talk to me. They truly display no EMPATHY for their patients!!!!!

My dog needed emergency care they said i needed an appointment. My dog was having a hard time breathing. ..its not a hospital. My dog died. Hospitals dont turn away patients. ..you better hope youre dog doesnt need real care...

I been taking my animals there for years. The staff is very nice and friendly and I have never had an issue. I would recommend you take your pet there for all your pet care needs.

Horrible..please dont go here. My cat had an theeth extraction for wich they left pieces of theeth and my cat never recovered until i took him tp the best place ASPCA in manhattan...they did xrays and removed nerves an pieces of theeth for which my cat suffers without eating. I spent thousands this is what they care only your money. License should be removed from this Office. They dont have equipment and ❤ to love animals..they think because they cant talk they dont feel..I hate this place!!

The staff is great and compassionate I had a Bulldog for 13 years and a Boer for 12 years. When it came time for them to leave me because of aging and sickness they helped me deal when they passed

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS AVOID GOING HERE. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND INVESTIGATED!!!!!This review is long overdue, if i can give this place 0 stars I would for their negligence and not taking responsibility for the death of our cat Felicity who died on July 11, 2018. Our young healthy cat died in the hands of one of their irresponsible Vets. Our cat Felicity died of septic shock last month because the Vet who was suppose to treat her constipation decided to cut inside her colon because he thought he saw a polyp and ended up tearing and damaging her colon. He did not tell us what he was going to do and we would have definitely not given him permission for him to that. We ended up paying 400 dollars for the visit and even worse we had to rush Felicity to an emergency animal clinic so they can perform surgery to repair the colon. The surgery costed 10,000+ and she ended up dying. The Manager of the Animal Hospital never called to apologize nor offer to repay us for the cost of the expense. We lost our cat who meant the world to us and over 10,000 in less than 24 hours. Felicity meant so much to us and her life is

Didn’t really seem to care about my pup or the emergency I was explaining to them. The secretary was overwhelmed and there wasn’t much going on. Wouldn’t go there if you love your pup.

I took my 3 year old dog which is a rescue. She is normally anxious in new environments and especially when being left. She was great! She had both an annual exam with vaccines and grooming. Her reaction to the staff was good as she normally barks at those she doesnt like. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I will be taking her here going forward for all her pet needs. They really provide a caring environment for animals and service is provided in a timely manner.

Honestly, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I went in just to inquire about getting shots for a found, abandoned dog that I’ve been fostering in my home for over 3 weeks.One of the young women in the front desk basically scolded me and said comments such as I would be sued for vaccinating this dog.I did my due diligence with trying to find the owner to this lost dog. Shelters, Precincts and posting on online sites to try to find the previous owners. I posted FOUND flyers in the neighborhood and it was very clear this dog was abandoned.Walking in, I was met with a passive aggressive and condescending employee. Her comments basically implied that I was a dog thief. She even told me I can get in legal trouble for keeping this dog. Her attitude and unwanted remarks were totally unacceptable.It’s unfortunate that this vet serves this community. We deserve better.

Merrick Animal Hospitsl has been there over 50 years. They have services all my litter a and cats. Very convenient for me to walk around the corner. Unfortunately, the service is declining. The front desk manager is not trustworthy. I sent my puppies for a blood test which by appointment in person by me. I sent my puppy with the pet walker and they gave her annual shots again and charged my card. The dog was being tested in order to be able to take the meds so that she with not get ticks and fleas when outside playing. Because the service has declined. No more walking to the doctor we are driving farther down Merrick. The 2 for old-time sakes.

They scared to groom cats properly. Paid for a full groom and got only a brushing and nail trim

The staff and receptionist were very patient and helpful when dealing with my troublesome cat. But then, when I was leaving, the doctor on duty suggested that I get my 1 year old cat declawed. I was so shocked that a vet would suggest such a thing. Im really disappointed because the staff was really nice and the location of this place is convenient. But I dont agree with the doctors suggestion and I will not be going back there.

I took my dog there for an ear infection. He received medication. After a week, I told them my dog was acting strange. I was told the infection was gone. My dog died within 4 days. Clearly, something else was wrong that they did not check.
