This dog park is peaceful, clean and very good taken care of. You can actually spend a great portion of the day reading a book with your favorite cup of coffee and watching the dogs having fun.

A little run down and the owners who frequent the place IMO train their dogs less (or care less about jumping and humping) than the 86th street dog run in my opinion. The setup is good though with convenient access to the main thoroughfare as well as being across from Ellington in the Park. Can get a little muddy post rain and dry/dusty towards the end of summer.

Great dog park, one of my favorites on the Upper West Side. Plenty of space for small and big dogs alike to run around and play. Several benches line the back of the park to accommodate the human companions.Water bowl is always available with a. spigot. Plenty of tennis balls to throw around. Water tub is also a central feature in the warmer months. The dog park is clearly.well maintained and well frequented. You can usually find dogs there throughout the day with peak times being in the morning and late afternoon.

The space is great and proximity to my apartment is wonderful. However, I have witnessed multiple dog fights there, mainly because owners are not attentive to their dogs or refuse to step in swiftly when their dog is being aggressive. Our neighbor’s dog was attacked there the other day. We will not be frequenting this park, especially with the huge flux of wild COVID puppies there.EDIT: I have demoted this park to 1 star. An incident today put me over the edge. Unfortunately there are more knucklehead dog owners in the park than not. Today I saw a very aggressive young dog cause 4 dog fights, the last one involving my own dog. I confronted the owner who responded, “It’s not my dog. Just trying to work on her in here.” So trainer-wannabes are now just bringing aggressive, untrained dogs in here for the heck of it. Nope! Sadly, I won’t be returning unless it’s empty.

Bring a flashlight at night, have your dog trained off leash before going (suggestion) 😁

The first time at the dog run, I was nervous right along with my almost 1-year-old puppy. After a little encouragement, my dog enjoyed herslef. Although there were some big ol dog in there. They were either friendly or kept to the selves.

The dog park is frequently used by many dog owners in the neighborhood. My dog is a smaller sized dog, so she goes to the smaller play area. I wish the smaller area was bigger, so that the smaller dogs could have but more space.

This is a good place but you have to look carefully. Some people bring dogs they cant or wont control. There is an area for small dogs but the distinction is ignored.

Nice place, a little bit too small, and the small dogs part doesn’t always have small dogs only. Even so, never had a problem

I always take my corgi to the dog run. Sometimes we get lucky and there are other young dogs so we can place in the small play section. Otherwise Yoda could just hang out in the bigger section.

Nice dog park. Mostly purebred dogs - or dogs mixed with poodles - and its a nice crowd. Its a dusty place if it hasnt rained in a while, but the dust only happens when the dogs are having fun so its happy dust. (But dont wear shoes you would not want to be very white with dust.)Plenty of benches and trees if you want to stay out of the sun, and theres also a separate small dog section that is separate from the main run. There is a water spigot if you bring a dog bowl. The location within Riverside Park is beautiful. Nice walk and pretty surroundings. Always well-maintained (but be prepared for dusty feet).

We like coming here, And so does our dog! But we wish it was paved or rubberized so the dogs aren’t as dirty and dust-covered when done.

Dangerous! Dont bring your dog here. Dog owners are oblivious to their pets aggression and dont even care how their dogs behave in there. My friends Goldendoodle got its ear torn from a dog bite. Better safe than sorry.
