Excellent place to take your dog. Not only are you in the backyard of the Natural History Museum, but you also have a dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs. Everything is fenced in which, of course, makes it safer for your pet.

Fun dog run. Lots of shade, water and larger peebles. Lots of big trees for dogs to play around and there is a tiny patch of astro turf on one end.

Generally speaking the park is clean and safe, with relatively few crazy owners. Large enough to live and let live or have lots of great dog playdates.

The best dog run we came across in Manhattan so far. Really big and dogs can hang out without feeling trapped.

Spacious. My dog cant run fast on the sand ground, however the sand ground exhausts her energy. She sleeps well at night!Do not forget to put repellent spray, as there are many mosquitos in summer time.

This dog run is pretty clean and has a good amount of space that’s divided for small dogs and big dogs, but a dog park can’t be 5 stars without grass.

Nice place for doggies to run and play, and lots of benches along the outside to sit and watch.

My favorite dog run in the area. The pebble floor works really well for me because it keeps the dog run clean and dry even after a rainstorm. Super friendly dog owners in this park help you even when your dog is having issues.

Nice area for the dogs ro run and play. The big dog area is quite a bit larger than the small dog area. However most people just seem to use the bigger area. Theres a drinking fountain with a dog bowl within the park too.

Beware! This place uses gravel not meant for dogs.My dog played at Washington Square park two times a day for years. It only took one day on the weird gravel here to completely tear up her paws. She kept stopping and we thought maybe the deeper gravel was making her tired. Nope it was because her paws were bleeding.Apparently the board has known about this since October and yet there are no signs for newcomers to proceed with caution. This is appalling. And whoever is in charge of this place should be ashamed of themselves. Not only for wasting 600k on the renovation but also not owning up to the situation and posting signs for owners to proceed at their own risk.

Large dog park on a hill with wood chips. There are two areas: a larger one, and a smaller one for small dogs. There are also picnic tables in the shade for dog owners to sit down and relax while their dogs run around. This park is not accessible due to the uneven terrain from the hill and the wood chips.

Brand new renovation finally allows the Bull moose dog run to live up to its potential. Initial problems with the surface have been resolved. Very nice to see all the improvements made in the shadow of the very big construction project going on around at the museum of natural History. It can finally be recommended.

My dog has so much fun there. By the time we get home he is exhausted. He has alot of energy and bringing him here tires him out with the fun he is having.

I like the park itself, but you really get a mixed bag of dogs and dog owners. Tonight, a black small/medium sized dog named Ruby, attacked my puppy. As I attempted to pull the dog off of my puppy, it bit me, grabbing my winter coat and completely ripping the cuff off. As a dog owner, I would hope that - at a bare minimum - they would have stopped to make sure that neither my puppy nor myself had been seriously harmed and, if so, exchange information to take responsibility for any subsequent medical costs. But, rather than asking if my puppy or myself were injured, the owners swiftly attempted to make their exit. While this is the first violent attack I have witnessed at the park, it’s not the first time that I have felt a dog was too aggressive to be off leash roaming freely. The park is well maintained, but I think the risk is not worth it. We definitely won’t be back.
