My senior dog is not supposed to be in any dog runs, per the vet. However, he enjoyed many mornings here. Many running and climbing options. What I liked was that it was in the shade. Some outdoor dog runs do not have trees for shading, and it is very bright, very clean as well.

My dog enjoyed this park way more than many others we have been to. I think this park is a lot better since it is not only a flat rectangle but it has a lot of vertical elements to it. It helps the dog to not feel so out in the open. The park is in general very clean, spacious and provides water. There are actually two parks one reserved for larger dogs only, the other open for any type of dog. There is no big difference between the two and they are adjacent to each other.

I’d recommend this park if you have an energetic dog! The park is interactive & friendly to all size & age of doggies. The vibe I get when Odin & I go is always amazing! One cool thing about it is that regulars come there & a community is sorta formed for dogs :)

I bring my two small dogs here all the time. the paved park has hills and rocks for climbing (and filing their nails), benches with some shade, water and pools for summer time splashing. There is usually a pretty good mix of dog sizes, but if your dog is overwhelmed by big dogs its not the park for him/her.

The new park is great. One big issue though. The cleaning crew closes the park when they’re there, which really confused me and my dog. Also wasted our time when we could have went elsewhere had we known this was a “cleaning hour”. During the parks construction we would walk down to Leroy Dog Run and it was never closed for cleaning.

This park is small but good. Its completely fenced in so you dont have to worry about your dog getting loose. For the most part the people that bring their dogs here are very attentive. They also have a doggy pool in the warm weather.

The park itself is very convenient and nice. It is paved so you don’t track tons of dirt back home, is shaded, and has a nice plastic pool area. The negatives — my 1.5 year old pup has been bitten on the face TWICE in the last few months resulting in an $1,000 vet bill. In both instances she was not the aggressor. She sustained punctures to the inside and outside of her mouth + scratches near her eye. Owners tend to go on their phones and are not very vigilant of what their dogs are up to. I like the convenience of this place, but it’s not worth potentially traumatizing my dog-ter over. Also, a message to other owners, if your dog bites another dog and that dog is bleeding… saying ‘sorry’ goes along way!!!!!!!

Great spot to bring your pup for play in Chelsea. This enclosed park features mostly solid surfaces so it is not as dusty as other parks. Dogs can climb small boulders and concrete mounds. And there are wading pools during the summer. The humans are nice too!

The Chelsea Dog Park is small but also fine for dogs. There is a little fountain for dogs and a playground for running on. There is a mix of large and small dogs, so be very careful if your dog isnt used to being around other hyperactive pups. I generally dont spend more than 5 minutes here because it often smells too much like urine.

Delightful place with secure fenced area to allow your dog to roam with the others in the neighborhood. Lots of mounds and boulders for them to play, benches for the humans. Everybody is pretty good about cleaning up after their pet and watching their dog. Nice place.

Park has a lot of boulders and is kind of small to have so many, it makes it hard to play with dog if you like to run around with them but the water stations are awesome. There are two pools that my dog loves which is pretty awesome!

Its nice...But considering Chelsea Piers is right there, it should be better. They should incorporate the park like area next to it. The Dog park its self is mostly concrete.*On 52nd Street there is another dog park...yes, its mostly concrete also...but its divided into 2 sections. One for medium & big dogs (25lbs and up), and one for smaller dogs (below 25lbs).

Recently renovated, this is a great space for dogs to have a good time. While simply a concrete surface area, a large hill and rocks do make for ideal running around. A water feature and fountains help pups stay cool in summer. With separate space for small and large dogs, it’s not as big as other parks but still offers enough space for romping around. Usually pretty full, there’s always someone to play with but it can get too crowded during weekend prime times.

I would never think to rate a dog park but this a more of a warning to everyone that goes with a small/medium dog. I took my French bulldog there today for the first Time and he had gotten attacked from a larger white mixed dog. The owner was a blonde woman who didnt even give any empathy towards the situation and slowly left the scene. It ruined my entire day and I got stuck paying a unnecessary $400 hospital bill. So I would really advise everyone to watch there animal in a public park. If your dog is unstable, then dont go!

Great location. Normally there are a good number of dogs running around. Rumor is they are going to make it bigger. Really hope the do before summer hits and all the pups are out and about.

I used to walk down to this park to have my lunch while I was a student at The Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy to watch the dogs play. Its an awesome park with structures for the dogs to climb on, a watering station and benches for the non-canine visitors.

This dog run, while certainly better than nothing, is rather small and is wedged in between the Westside highway and 11th Ave., which means there are cars and giant trucks barreling by at all times of day (on two of the three sides of the triangular dog run).

Took my seven month shitzhu to this park. He loves it. This is a small park that is more fit for small/medium dogs. However, larger dogs are often taken to this dog run. Today my dog was stomped on by a larger dog and the owner didnt have any empathy to the situation. After my dog cried out the owner did not pull their dog away. In fact the owner laughed it off. The owner did not check to make sure my dog was okay nor did they apologize. So I would really advise everyone to watch there dog in this public park. There really should was be a dog size restriction at this park. This dog run is too small to have mixed sized dogs. If you own a smaller dog is very likely he/she will be tramples by a larger dog even when your watching. Some of these dogs are very hyper and there isn’t enough room to let lose. Some of the larger dogs seem to be very aggressive towards the smaller dogs.

Medium sized dog park for Manhattan, with lots of hills and rocks for play. The park was clean, with constantly flowing water for the water bowl to minimize chance of transmitting sickness. Its also close to the westside greenway so its a good walk right nearby.
