East River Esplanade Dog Run

This is my favorite dog park on the East Side! It is nicely sized and there are usually plenty of toys kicking around. The park is well maintained and clean. In the warmer months there is water available and they have dog pools and water dishes for the pups. I take my dog there every day and have never had an issue with aggressive dogs. There are always lots of friendly owners, too!

Our dogs always have a blast, and there is a great view of the river and bridge.Perpetually there is a big puddle of muddy water in the middle. No grass, so it is extremely dusty/dirty. Some visitors insist on filling these kiddie pools that get disgusting within 5 minutes and make my dogs more dirty and at risk for parasites from drinking the water.They used to supply poop bags but not anymore. Good amount of benches.

Great place to hang with the dogs and chat with your neighbors. Dog run is covered in pea gravel so dogs arent getting muddy or dirty.

Love this spot for Luna. Its right on the water and there is separate sections for small dogs.

Good place for off-leash play. No grass and packed sand means it will be a bit stinky. At least theres a splash pool and a hose for cooling off. Not a lot of room for running around if your furbaby wants to stretch their legs but ample space for sniffing and socializing. A few chairs and 2 trees offer shade. There is also a shaded area structure. Partitioned for small dogs too. Gets really hot in summer... there doesnt seem to be the expected breeze coming off the water. A little doggie sanctuary in a busy city.

Nice dog park by the east river. Separate areas for small and large dogs. Also has a hose available to rinse your dog off if necessary.

They are making improvements. I run here 3 times a week. Now they are working on 86th to 97th. So if you start at either end 1 lap will get you a solid 2.5 mi. What they could use is a beat cop. Im choking on all the Marijuana smoke from the Hospital employees on break.

A little out of the way but a well worth spot for your 4 legged pal to ren around. Great people to socialize with and best of all a pool with a view, those lucky dogs.

Dont really go to the dog run but pass by it every night while doing my 3 mile walk. It seems like everybody enjoys it including the people. 😃

Has a tendency to be water filled/soggy for a while after rains. Nice to have both small and large dog areas.

Its basically an average dog run. Good access to water though.

I have rarely gone on foot, but today I enjoyed it and I will have to return again and again, but on a sunny day.

Relaxation is what you breathe, and a good place for spectacular views of Mahathan
