Andrea Arden Dog Training was the biggest and best step forward for my pup Jasper and me. As a very young rescue, my pup needed guidance in puppy socialization and confidence building, as well as a job to play hard at. The trainers were amazing, force free and positive, winning Jasper over before I told them about her stranger danger-she loved them! This incredible team set us on the right path-Agility for life! Thanks to Katrina for moving us forward in agility (truly life changing), Andrea, Lara, Hannah, Melanie and the rest of the team for building our foundation and setting us up for success! Highly recommend!

I have a small dog with medical issues that has never stayed with anyone other than my mom (needs medicine at specific times during the day and someone to be perceptive of his needs). After meeting Andrea and her team at a class, I quickly became comfortable that I could trust them and not think twice. The board & train program was so impactful for him and I was able to be away without a worry - I am so grateful! Andrea is incredible and so is everyone who works with her.

I only have AMAZING things to say about Hannah. From our very first session, she displayed an unparalleled level of expertise and dedication to the development of our Bernese Mountain Puppy, George.George quickly mastered foundational commands such as sitting and responding to his name after session #1. After three sessions, George knew how to sit, stay, leave it, lie down, roll over, paw, spin, among others.Hannahs approach extends well beyond obedience training. She goes into depth with schedule management, effective potty training techniques, crate training (which before Hannah was SO challenging for us!!), and walk-training strategies.What sets Hannah apart is not only her profound knowledge, but her unwavering commitment to addressing every single question and concern my husband and I had. Whether in person or through prompt and thorough responses over email and text, Hannah ensured we felt supported every step of the way.I wholeheartedly recommend Hannah for anyone seeking professional and effective dog training. The transformation weve seen in George in just a few weeks is crazy!! Youll be so happy you did it.

Our experience with Andrea Arden Dog Training was exceptional. Their puppy playgroup program provides a well-structured environment for puppies to interact and form good habits early on. We also booked private training sessions with Lara, who taught us invaluable tips and tricks to keep Sally engaged during walks in the hectic NYC streets. Laras passion for her job was evident and infectious. Following this, we boarded our golden retriever puppy, Sally, with Andrea, which solidified our trust in their high level of commitment and care. We couldnt recommend Andrea Arden Dog Training more enthusiastically to any new pet owners navigating the urban puppy raising experience.

The first thing any dog owner should realize is dog training is more about training us, the owners. It takes daily work, patience and space for mistakes and corrections. Andrea Arden is a wonderful dog training organization that supports the training of the owner as much as the training of the dog.They take the responsibility seriously. The price for the class is worth every single penny and it’s very competitively priced. The classes are small which allows for one on one for each training point; they understand how to manage personalities (of both dogs and dog owners); they provide homework that is challenging and engaging and really forces you to pay attention to how you are working with your animal, which really in the end helps you develop both a passive and an active communication style with your dog. They teach you how to read your dog and set the animal up for success. All of their trainers have very different training approaches but together have a fused style of education, so you can take any class that works for your schedule. I refer them to everyone and even though my dog is at the Good Citizen stage of training, I still keep in touch with my dog’s trainer for tips and skill brush ups.Andrea Arden has set me and my dog up for success and has provided me with a tool to ensure my dog is a proven “good boy”.

I can not recommend Hannah enough! Not only she’s extremely professional and knowledgeable, she’s also kind and caring. Our pup LOVES her and we do too. She makes training accessible and so much fun! I mean, look how proud of himself Doug is….

We met Andrea when our dog, Tikki, was a small puppy at one of her puppy training classes. Tikki has done training and boarding with Andrea and truly could not love Andrea more. When we drop Tikki off, she’s so excited to see Andrea and never sad to see us leave. Andrea is incredible and I would recommend anything she does to every dog owner!!

We have taken a couple of classes through Andrea Arden with Hannah, and have always had just wonderful experiences! Our pup loved going to his classes, and we thoroughly enjoyed them as well. Very helpful training, Hannah is super supportive and helpful and great with the dogs. I definitely recommend classes through Andrea Arden!

Everyone at Andrea Arden is incredible and the style of training is the absolute best - all positive reinforcement, so its the highlight of my dogs week. Weve done puppy training group classes, puppy play group, and one-on-one sessions with Katrina (who is a miracle worker!). The whole team is incredibly knowledge and they all provide a very personalized, nurturing approach. I cant recommend this place enough.

I cannot say enough great things about AA! I am consistently complemented for how well my pup behaves and I have Hannah to thank for so much of that! AA came recommended by our vet practice and Hannah happened to be our teacher for Puppy 1! Suffice to say we have now completed 3 classes, puppy play group and private lessons with her. Hannah is an outstanding trainer. Kind, knowledgeable and she creates such genuine connections with her students.As a first time dog mom, I am so thankful to have her in our lives!

My husband and I have been attending classes at Andrea Arden since we first brought home our lab, Whiskey, last April. Weve taken the majority of those lessons with Hannah and have been so deeply impressed with her style of positive reinforcement and patience with all the puppies (and owners!)Its truly made a world of difference in Whiskeys behavior and we frequently get comments about how calm and well-behaved he is, especially for a puppy! Lara from Andrea Arden was everything we wanted and more from a private lesson on how to train our puppy. She was thoughtful and ensured we understood the lessons and our pup responded to her (and us) in a way that we thought would never happen. I have been working with the trainer Hannah ever since I got my puppy last year. My golden has always been an anxious girl and it’s taken a lot of work to create positive social interactions with people and other dogs both on and off of the leash.Hannah created a helpful schedule so we could set my dog up for success in potty-training and basic obedience. She has been a fabulous resource for my dog’s reactivity and general anxiety. She also has really helped me understand how to read my dog’s behavior and respond accordingly.Hannah responds to my anxious worries with the calm assured attitude of a professional. Our combined hard work has paid off and I’ve become a better dog owner thanks to all of Hannah’s guidance. I recommend her to all of my friends and strangers I meet in the park!

We love Andrea Arden dog training! We turned to Andrea Arden after some bad experiences with pet store socials and classes, and we couldnt be happier. We started by attending puppy socials and that quickly turned into puppy classes (thank you Melanie, Lara, and Katrina!), a tricks class (thank you Jo Anne!), and some private home lessons to work on specific housing manners (thank you Melanie, again!). The instructors are clear, helpful, and obviously invested in the dogs. Theyve been super responsive to questions outside of class and training sessions. Our first year of puppy parenthood wouldve been a nightmare without them.

We had an amazing experience with Hannah! She is incredibly knowledgeable about dog training and extremely thorough. We had several private sessions and each one built upon what we had learned in the prior session. We learned so much at each session and received a summary after each one that gave us clear direction for when we practiced. Our dog made great progress and continues to do so. Hannah’s expertise was invaluable!

We had a great experience with Andrea Arden training. I cant speak highly enough of Stefania, who worked closely with us to train our puppy. Thanks to the puppy classes as well as private sessions with Stefania, we have a very well behaved 4 month old pup who is crate trained, leash training, and following commands beautifully. I do think the private sessions with Stefania were the most helpful in figuring out ways to modify Argos training to our living space and specific issues. She and the rest of the people we have met through Andrea Arden have been professional, lovely, and highly competent. We will continue to train our little bear there in future.

I really needed help with a puppy that somehow just really wasnt getting it when it came to training. The puppy class and the puppy play groups were really well run and both added a lot of info and insight to what were were missing in our training. I met Andrea at one of the puppy play groups and her love for dogs was immediately obvious when I saw the joy on her face in walking into our group of pups. Nice to have someone that loves what they do. Going to start in agility soon and we are so excited!!!!

Hannah Richter is a total joy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to understand their dog and have fun bonding with their dog with training. I first met Hannah in a puppy manners class at AADT and she was absolutely lovely. She made a group lesson feel personal, Clover and I got so much out of each session that I wanted to do even more training with Hannah 1:1.Hannah came to our home and was so incredibly kind, fun, and helpful. Her communication is clear and easy to follow. She helped me see things that I didnt even realize I was doing that allowed me to safely take care of my dog on NYC streets. Clover is shy but takes to Hannah like shes known her forever. She is worth every single penny!Hannah also significantly helped with me sorting out what was going on with Clovers hips when we were doing training. Unfortunately, my dog was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and Hannah was super supportive and kind, she totally steered us in the right direction for rehabilitation. We had to take a little break between our second and third lesson but when we were ready to return, she was responsive and so easy to schedule with. We just finished our third personal lesson with Hannah doing leash training outside on the street in NYC. Clover is immediately better at walking and I feel more capable with her amazing guidance and support.I truly believe that if youre a prepared dog owner, have the right dog for you (i.e. not a giant powerful dog that needs a job at all times and not appropriate for NYC apartment life), and are willing to take ownership that it takes work and dedication to train a dog well, you can have an amazing experience with a dog trainer, but you should still go to the best and that is definitely Hannah Richter.Cannot wait to do more lessons and start agility training this spring! I am currently attending the Puppy Class (P1) at Andrea Arden and love it! The instructors are very knowledgable. In just a couple of weeks my puppy is starting to understand visual commands all because of their help with teaching me how to train properly. I have also attended the puppy play groups which is a great way to socialize my puppy with others. The groups are controlled by an instructor who offers guidance throughout the play time in different behaviors the puppy might display around others. I would definitely recommend this for others who have a puppy and wish I had started right when I got mine!

I recently had a call with Andrea regarding my dog, and trying to rectify some of his behavior. What I didnt expect to get on that first introductory call was such a generous and thoughtful discussion around my dog. A discussion that made me rethink some of his behaviors, as well as some tangible solutions that I have worked. I would have zero hesitation in working with Andrea again in a larger capacity. The intelligence and level of expertise she bought to the problem was impeccable. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Love Andrea Arden as a resource for dog owners in NYC! We have utilized them several ways and have been extremely happy with our experience with them.We utilized their puppy play times quite a bit when our dog was a puppy to help socialize our shy dog. The puppy play times, though admittedly a little pricey for us at the time, were well worth it since the puppies get to play for a full hour under vigilant monitoring from their trainers. We tried some free puppy play times in the city and the quality was not the same.We have also signed up for other classes they offer (i.e. agility) to further offer more enrichment opportunities for our dog after she became an adult, and the classes were always really fun and cadenced really well for skill building.Finally, we have been doing their online classes during COVID, and they have also been exceptional.All in all, highly recommended.

This is for three of the awesome trainers/teachers - Hannah, Stefania and Lara! All three of them are just FANTASTIC, super knowledgeable and helpful, kind, and all around great teachers.Each of their demeanors, along with the spaces they created in their respective sessions (whether a play group or puppy class), were special, fun and supportive in their own ways. Good vibes all around.

I am a huge fan of Andrea Arden training, and especially of Stefania Bedoya! She was professional, highly skilled and so kind with my dog. She was also incredibly helpful in training me - a brand new dog owner. I feel great about our progress and highly recommend her!

Melanie has been incredible - extremely knowledgable, kind, realistic, and never once made us feel inferior or silly (like other trainers had in the past). Its a work in progress but she for sure has strengthened our relationship with our dog and helped us better understand him and his quirks. Cant thank her enough.

We found Andrea Arden Dog Training on Google and could not be happier that we did.We started with Casandra the first week we brought our pup home, and her work with us has been nothing short of transformative. Casandra is smart, caring, intuitive and dedicated. She is patient and truly understands the keys to successful dog training.It is without reservation that we recommend Andrea Arden.

We purchased 2 puppies at the same time (diff breeds) and were overwhelmed. I reached out to Andrea Arden in desperation and had a consultation with one of the trainers, Katrina. Immediately I knew the puppies wld be in great hands. She recommended we start them separately and then gave really helpful feedback every step. The first puppy to go was perhaps easier than she tht, so she said she could handle the other, and she was very very honest that she felt the minimum time of 5 days for the first puppy was enough. He came back a different dog. He was basically housebroken, barking about 75 percent less but he also responded to the tactics she’s given us to stop barking. He sits and lays on command and is a joy. Our second dog was more difficult. She is terrified of nyc and wld not go to the bathroom outside. When Katrina took her- she also got sick, took her to the vet not once but twice, and filled me in on progress honestly every day. She never made me feel pressured to keep her there but eventually with persistence- she got her pottying outside, walking on a leash and generally a puppy that can now come out of her crate and run around the apt without an accident. She also sits, lays, responds to other commands. I can’t thank Katrina enough. We were at our wits end and really trying- but the intensive training did the trick. I wld recommend this service and particularly Katrina. She really figured it out for us and loved both the dogs.

Andrea Arden has been incredible working with us and our dog Brady since he was a puppy. We started out with lessons and group classes along with puppy play time to help socialize him. Given some health issues, Brady was not able to do proper training for most of the first year of his life and developed behavior issues and was behind where he should have been. That is where our trainer Stefania came in to truly save the day. The first day she walked in Brady was mouthy (to where it hurt), jumpy, and hard to control (the list goes on) - she has worked diligently with us and I am incredibly impressed with her ease to get creative on tackling certain issues as Bradys health and limitations made him an interesting case to say the least. Also what we love is that she is really realistic with us and our busy schedules plus what Brady could do physically. She set workable goals for all of us. After only a few sessions, we started to be told by people we met how well behaved Brady is and today, its incredible to see the leaps and bounds he has made. We could not have done it without Stefania and cant say enough how amazing she has been to transform our pup into a sweet and well-behaved little guy.

Had a great experience at Andrew Arden Dog Training! Wouldnt have known how to train our puppy if it wasnt for Puppy One and Two obedience classes. Absolutely recommend the classes and Puppy play groups.

My Papillon and I loved our small dog class. Katrina was really patient with both of us and she tried several ways of showing us how to do the exercises. Her approach and attitutude was so positive and gave us the confidence to be successful. She gave me the tools I need to continue training on my own, although I hope to be able to join another class. This was really great and I highly recommend.

Hannah at Andrea Arden was amazing with my rescue Golden Retriever, Charlie, who was terrified of NYC! Charlie was so scared of all the street noises that he didn’t want to go outside at all. By the third session with Hannah, Charlie was going in the elevator willingly and walking around the block. Now, 6 weeks later, I have to pull Charlie out of the park to go home! My heart was breaking for a Charlie - I am so thankful to Hannah!

We did private puppy training lessons with Jo Anne for our puppy. Jo Anne was so helpful, I am not sure what we would have done without her! Thank you Jo Anne!

Katrina has been exceptional in Gigi’s training. She is so experienced and makes training fun for both Gigi and myself. Small adjustments make a big difference and she intuitively knows the best approach for each dog and it’s human. Highly recommend!

Puppy play group is highly worth it, really well organized and supervised, great for pups that arent old enough to meet adult dogs.

When I contacted AA Dog training last November, my 5-month-old German Shepherd puppy showed intense fear walking on the streets of Manhattan. A woman calling herself Kathy at AA spoke with me about Roxie’s needs and recommended Hannah. I purchased a package of three training sessions for $675. The first lesson was helpful, it focused on indoor obedience training. The second session was on loose leash walking. Hannah‘s technique was to use a dual-ended leash attached to a harness by chest and back that Hannah fitted on her. We went out together, and Hannah demonstrated for a while, then coached me to follow her example. She offered to conduct training walks for $125 apiece.Overnight Roxie chewed through the harness so I substituted a more durable one that Roxie was used to which also had a front and back ring for the dual ended harness. She improved for a week, then began oppositional pulling. Walks were going downhill so I booked Hannah to take Roxie on a training walk. But she canceled saying temps in the high 30s were too cold and ues was too far from her home in lower Manhattan. I wrote that the training walks were not going well and asked her if she would put a prong collar on the puppy and said I was considering a board and train program. Hannah responded negatively about both but did not offer a solution. She still wouldn’t book a training walk, although temps warmed up.Walks grew dangerous, with Roxie repeatedly pulling me down by the time she reached eight months and 50 pounds. Now it was worse than when I hired Hannsh and I had to consider rehoming Roxie to the suburbs which would have broken my heart.Instead, I engaged another trainer (who came from Brooklyn) to show me a more effective technique of steering Roxie on the street. He affirmed what I already learned—that using the two ended harness was actually dangerous. He instructed me on body mechanics, and the posture I needed to be in charge of the walks. He also showed me a series of exercises to help me teach Roxie how to calm herself, and to give her boundaries. These techniques are turning things around, although it’s taking weeks to make up for the loss faced due to AA. Not to mention, I requested a refund of the third lesson which was denied.I wrote a review then exchanged emails with Hannah and Andrea called me. I was shocked by their responses. I was expecting one or both to say, “I’m sorry you’re having that experience, apparently our technique didn’t work for Roxie, let’s try another approach” or “how can we make things right?” Instead they both took no responsibility, claimed they had no idea things were not going well, asked me to remove the review and accused me of being “cruel.” Andrea mentioned several times that she had spent 45 minutes on the phone with me in our first conversation, but the only woman I spoke with called herself Kathy, so I guess Andrea didn’t give her real name. She made excuses for Hannah saying she got married and was too busy planning her wedding to book the training walks. She said my review made her cry. My field is marketing communications with a heavy emphasis on media, and I have worked with many clients with high stakes for their businesses. Andrea’s response struck me as unprofessional and less than customer service centered.In her earlier response, Andrea inserted my last name, apparently trying to intimidate me into deleting my review. I reminded her that this violated criminal and civil law whereupon she removed my last name.

We highly recommend Andrea Arden Dog Training and their team! Within the past year, weve used them for Puppy Socials, Puppy 1, Puppy 2 and Tricks class with Andrea, Jo Anne and Stephanie as the trainers. They all were very well informed and helpful in helping us raise a well behaved and adjusted puppy. Its clear that they all love what they do and were very supportive even outside of class to deal with one off issues. Overall, the training and socialization programs were immensely helpful in educating our dog and us!

This review is for the puppy group training and the overall feeling from the trainer. Honestly everything is rushed, rushed, and did I day rushed. Trying to interact with her is like jumping on a bullet train running backwards, and once you get to a section of the class where you are trying to implement what she just explained you will get 1-2 minutes at best. The bad thing is she cannot possibly observe every dog in that brief period. During the end of the class you figure shed interact with the clients, nope she runs everyone out for the next class and has the fastest dismissal ever. There are a few good points if you can listen that fast and remember after being verbally pelted.

Best puppy training around. Highly recommended.
